The Wrap
The outfit you ask? Well it turned out to be a smashing success. I was a little nervous about wearing the flip-flops. I brought a pair of dress shoes just in case but everybody loved the look! I got tons of compliments on the outfit. Everyone mentioned the flip-flops and how cool they were (Only Jill hated them, but Doug loved them so it all worked out). I was pretty pleased with myself.
We had such a great time. Stephanie's family was so nurturing and so supportive towards Erik and me. We met a lot of nice people and just had a really great time. I'm so proud of Steve and Stephanie. I wish them the absolute best in their new life together. Tomorrow they're off to Mexico for their honeymoon.
In the rest of the world it seems that nothing really happened this weekend. News of Rick James's death hadn't come out by the time I had to leave Friday so I just missed the story before the weekend began.
- Rick James is dead, bitch! They still can't figure out what he died from. Drugs? Too obvious. We'll have to wait and see.
- Nothing lasts forever. The Brown Bunny fellatio billboard has been taken down in LA already. "The billboard was designed for sophisticated people, who'd understand the aesthetic, the fact that there's subtext and complexity," said Gallo. Uh-huh, right.
- No her first name ain't La Toya ... La Toya Jackson Opts for Name Change. If my last name was Jackson I'd change it too.

It's A Done Deal
We slept in as late as we could. Checkout was at noon and we were out right at 12. Jill and Doug quickly left for home (they had to drive all the way back to Rochester, NY). We tried to round up other people for lunch but they had already left for home! Matt, Ame, Tracey, Al, Adam ... everyone! Only Andy and Allyson were still in town. Erik and I ate and then went over to Stephanie's parents to watch them open the wedding gifts. It was such a nice family thing. Oh and by the way, the gifts that Erik and I gave (a poker table top and a 7-in-1 game set) were the coolest ones!
But it was time to let the Newlyweds get other stuff done and we had to drive home.
The first thing we did when we arrived was clean the house. Then we had a nice dinner and our weekend was over! Next up is Erik's birthday and then Matt and Ame's wedding. Oi!
I'll have a gossy post up soon. Dudes, Rick James died! Sucks!
