Interview Of Truth: The Dateline Edition

You know what they say about "All Good Things ..."? Well ... unfortch, it's very true that they do come to an end. We've enjoyed the magical relationship between Britney Spears and Perry Taylor (the manny in bodyguard's clothing) from their first outing together in public to the various afternoon strolls they took together with their her son Sean Preston ... we've hoped and dreamed that the couple would run away together and live happily ever after together. Now it appears that the dream is over ... despite rampant rumors on the contrary, Britney Spears sat down with Matt Lauer for a Dateline interview, set to air this coming Thursday, to talk about the rumors surrounding the end of her marriage to Kevin Federline ... here are a few screencaps from the interview:

In an emotional and candid interview with NBC's Matt Lauer, pop icon Britney Spears talks about the state of her marriage, motherhood, the tabloids criticism about her skills as a mom, and why the paparazzi have gone too far. The exclusive interview will air on Thursday, June 15 on "Today" 7 a.m. and "Dateline" (9 p.m.) ... In the interview at her home, Lauer asks Spears why she is speaking out now and she explains that the tabloids have gone too far by intruding on her private moments and taking photographs of her on private property. "They've crossed the line a little bit," says Spears, "...they like to have the person they pick on, I feel like I'm a target." Despite the tabloids reports of trouble on the home front, Spears shares with Lauer that her marriage with Kevin Federline is "awesome," and that the reports of Kevin living in the basement are false. She talks about why she loves him, and reveals to Lauer, "He helps me. He has to. I'm (an) emotional wreck right now" ... Spears also shares with Lauer that motherhood is amazing, and opens up about the incident on Pacific Coast Highway where she was photographed with her son, Sean, on her lap in the car. She discusses the events that led to the situation and ultimately says, "I can't go anywhere without someone judging me...I did it with my dad. I'd sit on his lap and I drive. We're country." When asked if she was upset by the headlines that ensued questioning her parental judgment, Spears defends herself, saying, "I know I'm a good mom" ... Towards the end of the interview, Spears gets very emotional when she talks about wanting the paparazzi to leave her alone. Lauer asks her what would she say to them as individuals not a group and Spears reaches out, "You have babies at home. And...you have a life. And if you don't, you have to realize that we're people and that we ... just need privacy and we need our respect. And those are things that you have to have as a human being." Hmmm ... it looks like she took this opportunity to go in front of the entire world to take head-on all the criticism that she's been receiving over the past few months. I understand that she now feels the need to be left alone by the paparazzi and the public at large but it seems ridiculous to me that she would be fine with using any publicity she could muster early on in her career to make millions and millions of dollars and then decide that she no longer wants the attention. It will be an interesting interview to watch ... I just feel so bad for her ... not because she can't handle the intense attention that she has brought upon herself but because it seems to me that she was never allowed to mature enough to handle herself appropriately. It looks like Spederline is here to stay. [Source]

TMZ has new pictures of Britney and Kevin, photographed together ... with K-Fed actually holding Sean Preston:

Personally, I think The Federline is just being a good boy so that he can get another new car for Father's Day this coming weekend ...

Boo! And when did Kevin turn into Tommy Lee? [Source]

Hallelujah ... well, at least some dreams do come true ... check out these cute pictures of Jake Gyllenhaal AND Ryan Phillippe working out ... together:

Le sigh!!! Sure, the boys are mostly clothed (altho, Ryan did give a little tummy peek in that one pic) but beggars can't be choosers. Here's hoping that Gyllippe (or is it Phillenhaal) spend a lot more time working out together in the future ... like, all summer long ... in the intense heat ... heat that requires the removal of clothing ... then requires the need to shower ... together ... OK ... I should stop now ... [Source]

Kylie Minogue shocked the audience at the London nightclub G-A-Y over the weekend when she paid a surprise visit to the club to show support for her younger sister Dannii Minogue as she promoted her new greatest hits album Hits and Beyond ... here are a few pictures of the sisters from the show:

[Kylie] joined her younger sis Dannii - who was performing at GAY at London's Astoria. Taking to the stage in a stylish one-shoulder black dress and red lippy, she was greeted with a massive cheer and standing ovation. Then when she belted out the chorus of her favourite Dannii song, Jump To The Beat, the crowd went crazy. Dannii was at the club to celebrate the launch of her Greatest Hits CD, and Kylie told the gathered fans: "I want to say a special congratulations to Dannii. I love you so much and I'm so proud of you." Kylie looked amazing! It appears that she was beaming from ear to ear! It won't be long until she's back on stage performing herself. Dannii ... I love me some Dannii ... but was she serious with that outfit? I am so not down with that tin foil skirt that makes her look like a baked potato ... but it looks like she recovered with the black and white dress she wore after their appearance. Perhaps the time is now for the Minogue sisters to do a song together ... that would rule! [Source]

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were on hand in NYC on Sunday afternoon to attend the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade ... even tho Marc got to wear the Grand Marshall sash, it was J. Lo that was the belle of the ball:

"The Puerto Rican parade has been a long-standing tradition in my life. It was always an event that I looked forward to every single year," said Anthony, who led the parade with his wife, Lopez, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Salsa music blared from dozens of floats as the parade made its way up Fifth Avenue past a sea of revelers waving the red, white and blue Puerto Rican flag. Beauty queens wore Barbie doll dresses and foot-high tiaras. Folk dance troupes wore ruffled skirts and flowers behind their ears ... in addition to Bloomberg, politicians marching included New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, and U.S. Sens. Hillary Clinton and Charles Schumer. The Puerto Rican parade, an annual event in New York since 1958, has grown to be one of the city's largest. Although it was impossible to estimate this year's crowd, hundreds of thousands have attended in recent years. J. Lo <3s her peoples, y'all ... it's nice to see her (and her hubby) celebrate their Guatemalaness ... even if it it Puerto Ricaness. [Source, Source]

A bunch of Pink readers have been writing in to tell me about all the cool things that I am missing by not watching any of the World Cup games that are going on in Germany right now (and for the next few weeks). Pink reader Shannon sent in this picture from the recent Sweden vs. Trinidad and Tobago game over the weekend to try and lure me in:

Hot! I was unaware that groping was allowed in soccer. LOL -- it looks like that guy got himself a handful of soccer balls. Incidentally, the teams tied at 0-0 at this game ... does this mean they get to play again? Will there be more groping? Do other teams grope? Enquiring minds want to know. [thanks Shannon]

Here are few pictures of Victoria Beckham watching her hotness husband David Beckham on the field at the World Cup also over the weekend:

She/it looks buffed and polished to absolute perfection. The nips are fully extended, the lips are fully inflated and the nails look razor-sharp. But Posh didn't always look quite so ... er .. posh ... [Source]

... check out these amazing pictures, sent in by Pink reader Sara, of a younger David Beckham and (then) Victoria Adams before all the surgeries and bodily manipulations:

Zoinks! They hardly look recognizable from their former selves. Victoria used to have a neck and Becks used to have eyebrows ... who knew? It's amazing what money can do to a person. [thanks Sara]

Stars are Blind, the debut music video from Paris Hilton, appears to be the vid that won't die. Pink reader Line sends in these previously unseen pictures from a Norwegian online magazine from the video shoot. The grody train just keeps chugging along:

The wedge pick I can forgive, but I'm more interested in that ... thing on her right butt cheek. Is it a bruise or is it cellulite? Is a mass of bruised cellulite? Is it time for lunch cuz, I'm not really hungry any more. [thanks Line]

It won't be long now ... Superman returns in just a couple of weeks and I couldn't be any more excited. BUT, my excitement pales in comparison to the excitement that director Bryan Singer must've felt all thruout the intimate filming of Brandon Routh for their new movie Superman Returns:

It's a special kind of love between a director and his lead actor ... maybe I'm in the wrong line of work. [Source]

Ashlee Simpson is on the cover of the new Beauty and Body issue of Marie Claire magazine ... here are a few pictures from her photoshoot:

How appropriate ... with new beauty and a new body (well, a new nose at least) Ashlee is perfect for this magazine cover. [Source]

Speaking of beauty and body, check out these new Bongo jeans ads featuring my girl Kristin Cavallari:

Holy moly ... the clothes came off pretty quick, didn't they? She looks amazing ... I love the big hair and the big ... er ... boy toy. Loves it! [Source]

And finally, speaking of big boys, Playgirl magazine has chosen their Man of the Year for 2006 ... say hello to Derrick Davenport:

Sure Mr. Man of the Year is holding a stogie while he sits on a porcelain throne but, really, who's complaining? In the interest of hard-hitting journalistic integrity, I felt it was my duty to bring this exciting news to y'all. It's a tough job sometimes. [Source]

Les News:
Last night Sarah and I decided to go on a little movie date together ... I had promised to go see The Break-Up with her so it was time to pay up. I have to admit that I wasn't really looking forward to seeing this movie but a promise is a promise:

Much to my shock and chagrin, I didn't hate the movie at all. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a cinematic masterpiece by any means (nor would I have missed out on anything by not seeing it in the first place) but Sarah and I had a good time together at this movie. I was surprised by how much I laughed out loud ... the guy who plays Jennifer Aniston's character's brother was insanely hilarious. He, alone, made the movie worth watching. The rest of the movie was pretty entertaining ... the fight scenes were very real ... the arguments in the movie are exactly the same kinds of arguments that every couple engages in ... therein lies the appeal. I was very satisfied with the ending as well ... they could have gone the cheesy route and ended going the realistic route -- well played.

Anyways, I suppose I can recommend this movie to those of you who might have a passing interest in seeing this flick ... it's mindless fun, you might like it.

Sarah and I hung out with Mark for a little while after the movie ... mostly we played with his new Samsung phone ... not only does the little bugger play TV and MP3s but it also has a fun camera ... with fun picture taking capabilities:

Yes, we're dorks :)

Sarah and I are hanging out again tonight (at this rate, we should be dating by the end of the week) ... the plan is to shop, eat and then see An Inconvenient Truth at the Main Art Theater in Royal Oak, MI.

And that is all ... I'm out.
