Run, Sean Preston, Run

So did y'all get to see Britney Spears cry her eyes out to Matt Lauer on The Today Show on NBC this morning? Yeah, me neither ... I love me some Britney but I just couldn't haul my cookies out of bed early enough to catch the interview:

Fortunately for us we still have another chance to see the interview in full tonight on Dateline airing on NBC at 9PM. I'm looking forward to hearing Britney tell us what's been on her mind recently ... I'm also looking forward to hearing Matt Lauer ask her why she decided to wear a jean skirt and an unflattering see-thru maternity top for her on-air interview. This is the pressing information that the world is dying to hear. [Source]

In other Britney news, click HERE to check out a cute video of Brit Brit playing with Sean Preston at the beach this week:

I'm not sure it's a good idea for Britney to be lifting that little boy up off the ground by his arms like that (children under the age of 1 should not have their joints pulled like that) but should we really be surprised that she thinks it's a good idea? Anyways, it looks like little Sean P. is trying to figure out how walk ... that way he can better execute his great escape ;)

The new Sandra Bullock/Keanu Reeves masterpiece movie The Lake House had its premiere in LA earlier this week and here are a few photos from the event:

The Lake House is the harrowing tale of a frustrated architect (Keanu Reeves) who must save the passengers of a lake house that has a bomb set to explode if the lake house goes below 50 MPH. This lake house is also inhabited by a lonely doctor (Sandra Bullock) who lives in the lake house 2 years earlier than the present lake house owner. Sounds like box office gold to me. Boy, Kristin Cavallari is really getting miles out of her new 'do, ain't she? [Source]

Here are a couple more pictures of Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo gettin' their lurve on down in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico:

It's clear that these two are, at the very least, really close friends. They look really happy ... and I think they make a really cute couple. I think it's time for the era of Lanessa! [Source]

Diddy's new all-girl group, brought together on the MTV reality show Making The Band 3, paid a little visit to MTV's TRL yesterday afternoon to promote the premiere of the third season of MTB3. The girls also announced the name of the group ... ladies and gentlemen, meet Danity Kane:

This is, by far, the stupidest name EVER! Couldn't they have come up with something better? Diddy's Pretties? The Hot Tamales? Da Other Band? Not only is it meaningless (actually, it's the name of an anime character concocted by one of the girl's in the group) but it's also kinda hard to say. I cannot believe that Diddy allowed this name to be chosen. The girls also busted out a brief acapella preview of their new single and I was anything but impressed. Boo! It's not like I had high hopes for this group or anything but I thought they might have a chance at having at least one hit (I liked that one song, Bad Boy This Bad Boy That by Diddy's other Making the Band 2 band which he named Da Band [another terrible name but not as bad as Danity Kane]) but now I'm not so sure. I think that Aubrey and Aundrea need to jump ship now and form a duo or something ... this Danity Kane thing has disaster written all over it. [Source]

Yikes! What in the hell was Lindsay Lohan thinking when she decided to go out in public wearing this monstrosity?

It looks like she's vying for the position of the 5th Golden Girl. Boooooo! [Source]

Dannii Minogue was looking cute as hell in her little black shorts as she took to the streets of London earlier this week ... this, folks, is how one can look hot while keeping cool in the warm summer months:

Shorts, people! Shorts is the only way to go ... down with capris!!!! [Source]

Pink reader Christine came upon this picture from the World Cup tourney of Luis Garcia (from the Spanish Team) grabbing a big hunk of Andriy Husin's (from the Ukrainian Team) business as they both battle for control of the ball (the soccer ball, that is) in game play yesterday and immediately thought to send it to me:

I thought it was illegal to use your hands to touch the ball in a soccer game. Poor Andriy doesn't look like he's enjoying himself very much ... that grab actually looks kinda painful. Yowch! [Source, thanks Christine]

Pink reader Russell attended the Rufus Wainwright concert at Carnegie Hall last night in NYC and sends in this picture to give us an idea of how the show went down. According to one report, it appears that Rufus managed to hold his own and pull off a successful show:

Wainwright took the stage to thunderous applause from the sellout crowd and launched straight into the first number, "When You're Smiling." The Canadian crooner said, "We're not in Kansas anymore, we're in New York," -- a play on the memorable line from the "Wizard of Oz" movie which launched Garland's career. Backed by a 40-piece orchestra, Wainwright then restaged the monumental concert often called the greatest single night in show-business history ... Wainwright's dreamy, reedy tenor marked an arresting counterpoint to Garland's throaty belting ... Wainwright spoke often of Garland's influence during the performance, which was filmed by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes. "When I was a kid I wanted to be Dorothy," he said. He cracked at one point, "I'm going to speak now, because on the album Judy speaks here." When a light malfunctioned, he joked, "this didn't happen in the original." Sounds like an awesome show ... it sounds very Rufus Wainwright. Rufus does it all again tonight for the second and last time. [thanks Russell]

Here are a few screencaps from Madonna's new video for her new single Get Together:

I have to say, I'm not very impressed by this vid. It looks like it was made with iMovie using outtakes from a Daft Punk video coupled with some unused Madonna performance footage. It looks way too homemade for a Madonna video ... what, did they only have a $300 budget? The song is awesome, I just wish they would've worked a little harder on making a cool video. [Source]

Here are a few outtakes from Brandon Routh's Vanity Fair photoshoot:

I love how Brandon can make a chicken grease stained wife-beater t-shirt look kinda sexy. But I am disturbed at how creepy that last picture looks ... a fully grown man, lounging in his pajamas with a little boy dressed up like Superman stands perched on a ledge in the background. WTF? [Source]

The Pussycat Dolls grace the cover of the new issue of Blender magazine, here are a couple of pics:

A few of the Dolls look very man-suspicious (I actually didn't take the time to count the Adam's Apples, but you get my drift) but I do love their new song Buttons. I've decided that it's my unofficial official song of the summer. I hate myself for loving that song so much but a little self-loathing never really hurt anyone, right? [Source]

Here's a little game (it's been a while since we've played together) ... can you figure out who owns these various body parts?

I think the scary neck is a dead giveaway. Click the picture to find out who it is. [Source]

I have to send out lots of Birthday Lurve to my boy Brad Walsh who turns older today:

Brad is the mastermind behind Junk magazine and an all-around cool kid. I hope you have a great birthday today ... I wish I could celebrate with you tonight in NYC but it sounds like you're gonna be bizzy. Happy Birthday, Brad! XO

Check out these ADOOOOOOOOORABLE pictures of my good friend Brian with his new baby Mochi:

My friend Adriana sent out these pictures yesterday and I just died! I felt it was my sworn duty to pass along the cuteness to y'all. Enjoy!

And finally, if any of y'all are looking for something to do tonight you might want to consider hanging out with the always-lovely Peaches:

She'll be expecting you.

Da News:
Last night Sarah and I spent HOURS checking out all the cool stuff at the new Detroit-area Ikea store that just opened in Canton, MI last week. I'm in the market for new furniture for my new apartment out in LA so we paid a little visit to Ikea to get some ideas. I was wholly unprepared for what I was about to experience ... I was familiar with Ikea but I had no idea how much I would love practically everything that they make. I pretty much want to buy it all but that's just not possible. I think I picked out the couch that I want but I'm still undecided on my bed. I've never been at all interested in home decorating but this move to LA has got me really excited. I suspect my new LA apartment will look a lot like Rose Nylund's home in St. Olaf ... but a lot cooler. Wee! I can't wait.

Sarah and I have pinned down a departure date ... we will be traveling cross-country in early July and even tho I'm not really looking forward to the 3-day road trip, I am looking forward to finally making my move.

Megan and I were supposed to hang out last night but she had something suddenly come up and we had to postpone til today. I'm meeting her in a few hours for a day full of fun and mayhem!

So ... I guess that's it ... I'm out.
