If You Must Know ...

A brand new Britney Spears has descended upon us, y'all. This new Britney is strong, confident and she ain't takin' no bullshizz. This woman is in control and she wants the world to know it. The best way to get her point across is to dye her golden locks a shocking jet black ... behold, the new Britney:

Sean Preston doesn't look very impressed with his mother's new look, I have to say, I'm not very impressed myself. I know a few Pink readers have commented that they believe that she looks better with this new dark hair color ... I don't think I like it. This new look may grow on me but so far, I'm not down. [Source]

Pink reader Carola came up with a fun game for all y'all to play ... click the collage below and see if you can find Britney Spears hiding amongst all the other pictures of Angelina Jolie:

While it seems suspicious that Britney appears to be mimicking Angelina Jolie (much like she used to mimic Madonna), I don't necessarily think that she is purposely trying to become Angelina. It's too much to hope for ... Angelina dumped Billy Bob Thornton because he wasn't into being a family man. Britney seems to be sticking by K-Fed even tho he hasn't really proven to be much of a family man (just ask Shar Jackson and his other children Kori and Kaleb). It would be nice if Brit Brit looked to Angelina as her new role model (a much better choice than either Goldie Hawn or P!nk) ... I simply can't give up hope just yet. [thanks Carola]

Entertainment Weekly magazine threw a party for its annual Must List issue (due out on newsstands now) last night in NYC at Buddha Bar in the Meat Packing District. Xtina Aguilera was among the celebs who attended the event, here are a few pictures of her on the red carpet:

Xtina was honored by the magazine as this year's Entertainer with a Mission. She not only was on hand to be honored but she also served as the party's entertainment. Since I was lucky enough to attend the party (Pink is the new Blog is showcased in the Must List issue as well, deets below) I managed to take a bunch of great pictures of her performance ... those pictures and my full report can be seen at the end of this post. [Source]

Speaking of Xtina, Pink reader Jackie noticed something interesting about the pictures of Xtina at MTV's TRL that were posted yesterday. It seems that Miss Aguilera is into recycling ... the outfit that she wore this week on TRL was practically the exact same outfit that she wore the very first time she appeared on TRL back in 1999:

LOL! She turned her cute pants into capris. Click HERE to watch Xtina Aguilera (back when she was merely Christina Aguilera) perform her first single Genie in a Bottle, wearing this black and pink outfit for the first time. [Source, Source, thanks Jackie]

Whoa ... check out these new pictures of Jessica Simpson. What the hell happened to her nose? More specifically, where did it go?

Has Jessica been hanging out with Ashlee Simpson's nose doctor? It looks very clear to me that the shape of Jess' face has been altered ... it looks like half her nose got chopped off. Is she trying an extreme make-over: nose edition much like her little sister Ashlee? [Source]

Canadian gossip show eTalk has snapped these pictures of Victoria Beckham arriving in Toronto, Canada all by herself ... no Becks, no kids:

eTalk's cameras caught Victoria Beckham at Toronto's Pearson International Airport Wednesday night. The famous soccer wife left her husband David Beckham behind in Germany, where his team is vying for the World Cup. Pink reader Sarah reports that Posh will be in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada today. Hmmm ... I wonder what's going on. Is there trouble in paradise for the Beckhams? I guess we'll have to wait and see. [Source]

Hollywood's most fashionably odd couple are at it again ... check out these pictures of Jude Law and Sienna Miller steppin' out around town in NYC:

I suppose they should be commended for taking fashion risks ... but should be ridiculed for their often fashion mistakes. Who lets Jude Law buy his own shoes? Do those hideous clogs (moccasins?) actually belong to him or is he just borrowing them from Sienna? Boo! Speaking of Sienna ... what the hell is going on with that top? It looks like something that Britney Spears would wear. Boo! Boo! all the way around. [Source, Source]

Whoopsie! Poor Eva Longoria ... all she wanted to do Tuesday afternoon was to get her hair did by Jessica Simpson's main gay Ken Paves, maybe pick up a latte and go on her merry way. Unfortch, her day didn't turn out quite the way she hoped:

"Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria found herself in a very scary situation on Tuesday as her car was broadsided on a West Hollywood street. The 31-year-old had just finished getting her hair done by celebrity stylist Ken Paves at Jordan's Enchanted Cottage Salon in West Hollywood. Eva and Ken said their goodbyes and Eva got into the passenger seat of her brand new Range Rover as her assistant took the wheel. As they were pulling out of their parking space on Robertson Boulevard, they collided with a Ford Taurus ... "She's fine. She wasn't driving," Eva's spokeswoman told Access Hollywood. In fact, she looked more than fine at Tuesday night's T-mobile party celebrating the debut of the Sidekick 3. Hmm ... I know what's really going on ... what better way to get sympathetic press than by getting in a little fender bender. But c'mon Eva, couldn't you have hit a nice car than a Ford Taurus? I chalk up this little incident to the influence of our fave car mangler, Lindsay Lohan. Oh L. Lo, you're such a trend-setter. [Source, thanks Craig]

Pink readers Ryan and Kylie send in these pictures from the set of Spider-Man 3 which is currently filming in Brooklyn, NY:

Ryan writes: These were taken in Cobble Hill in Brooklyn, just a few blocks away from Heath and Michelle's place! They revamped the local Cobble Hill Cinema and made it the Stuyvesant Cinema, which, in the movie, is having a classics night including films such as Streetcar, On The Waterfront and...Click? Yes, the upcoming Adam Sandler movie, which is coincidentally put out by the same studio as Spidey...an instant classic! Kylie reports that the girl in the last picture is Rebecca from America's Next Top Model: Cycle 4 (she was the model who passed out on the show) who was cast as an extra for Spider-Man 3. Thanks so much for sharing your pics, y'all! They're awesome. [thanks Ryan and Kylie]

What the shizz is going on here? Who in the hell did this to Claire Danes?

What happened to her? It looks like she's wearing that fugly-ass thing backwards. Black satin = poop sandwich. Boooooooooooooo! [Source]

Okay, okay ... I didn't say that I was jumping ship from Team Kristin just yet ... I still got mad love for my girl KC (but it is true that LC has stepped up her game lately ... The Hills poops all over Kristin's failed TV show Get This Party Started). Check out these pictures of Kristin Cavallari and her peeps hanging out at Disneyland:

Her short hair looks cuter pulled back in pigtails like that ... I'm willing to forgive the short hair so long as she tries to keep it cute. Hello, it's only fair. [Source]

Pink reader Brandon really liked that most recent picture of Mary Kate Olsen that I posted earlier this week ... mostly because she reminded him of someone else:

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! It does look like MK is ready to lurve on the tired, the poor and those huddled masses yearning to breathe free. [thanks Brandon]

And finally, it is with extreme pride that I announce that Pink is the new Blog has been chosen for inclusion in Entertainment Weekly magazine's annual Must List:

Entertainment Weekly describes its Must List as "The 113 people and things we love right now" and I am absolutely honored to be on that list. When I got the call from EW a few weeks ago I was just shocked ... I cannot thank them enough for having me appear in their magazine (and for the second time in 2 weeks!) I have to send out lots of L.U.R.V.E. to Tim Stack for asking to interview me for the magazine! XO [Source]

The News:
So ... the Entertainment Weekly party was very cool ... the event was held at Buddha Bar and was swarming with celebs. I, for one, spent a lot of time near the sushi bar because I was hungry and the sushi was delish. David and I managed to mingle around a bit before Xtina Aguilera took to the stage:

I ain't gonna lie ... Xtina was en fuego! She performed a short set of just 5 songs. Here is the short setlist:

Ain't No Other Man
Candyman
Lady Marmalade
Fighter
Beautiful

Because she didn't have her band with her she had to sing along to a backing track but make no mistake, she was singing live ... and loud. I took a bunch of pictures but because Xtina likes to pepper each of her songs with a lot of OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHs and OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHs most of the pics look similar because her mouth is always open. Irregardless, she put on a fine show ... we had a blast. The new Xtina song, Candyman, has a faux 40's sound which makes an OK novelty song (click HERE to hear it for yourself) but if her whole album, Back to Basics, is full of this sort of stuff I don't think it's going to do well. The boogie-woogie-bugle-boy thing is cute ... but I hope there are some real pop songs on that album.

The only drawback was that it was hot as hell in there. Someone needs to tell the peeps at Buddha Bar to cut on the AC when the place is packed like that.

I have to give a shout-out to Pink readers William, Kacey and Amy. It was very cool meeting y'all and all the other Pink peeps who came over to say hello.

Ugh ... too much champagne = not a fun morning. I think I have to go rest my head right now ... OY!

Not sure what we're doing tonight, if any anything. But right now, there's a couch calling my name ... it's saying "Come rest your weary head". I must heed the call.

I'm out.
