The Results Are In

Even when Britney Spears isn't causing a commotion ... she's causing a commotion. Yesterday was meant to be a nice, quiet Sunday for Our Dear Britney but what started out as a harmless Sunday morning turned into a crazed frenzy of hype and over exaggeration ... and really, who can be surprised by any of this? Here are pictures of a happy, be-speckled Britney as she made her way out of the Barefoot Cafe in Beverly Hills yesterday morning:

Before Britney got her brunch on at the Barefoot, she spent the earlier part of the morning praising the Lord at the Bel Air Presbyterian Church on Mulholland Drive -- which would explain the hat. [Source]

But ... after she enjoyed a quiet morning she managed to whip up a frantic afternoon. Britney was rushed to the Century City Medical Center in Los Angeles in a black SUV and immediately people assumed the worst ... it turned out that Brit was merely suffering from a toothache and she had to see an emergency dentist:

A radiant, smiling, and hatted Britney Spears slipped into Century City Hospital on Sunday for a bit of emergency dental work. In one of her first public appearances since leaving rehab late last week, Britney, as TMZ reported yesterday, checked into the hospital because she was experiencing significant molar pain. She then left the hospital less than an hour later. Any speculation that Brit had had some kind of relapse were vigorously refuted by her manager, Larry Rudolph. In fact, Larry Rudolph issued an official statement to That Other Blog to clear up any misconception about Britney's quick trip to the medical center: "They're all wrong, she just went to the dentist. She had a tooth ache, I have no more details". If Britney prayed for a little more drama in her life during her church visit yesterday, it would seem that her prayers have been answered. Honestly, it's very easy to understand how people could jump to conclusions over something like this ... Britney has been a delicate (somewhat crazy) flower these past few months. If the biggest emergency in her life right now is a sore tooth then I'll be very happy. [Source]

Tho, it now appears that Britney's church visit wasn't without its own bit of drama: "Extra" has the alarming video from outside Bel Air Presbyterian Church where Britney Spears attended services yesterday morning. In the video, security apparently pulls a gun on a male paparazzo. The paparazzo was detained, but later released. Extra plans to air this video on tonight's show ... you gotta love a church that has pistol-packing security.

The final results of the Anna Nicole Smith autopsy were revealed today in a press conference called by the Seminole Police Department Chief Charlie Tiger in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The official cause of death has been ruled an accidental overdose:

Anna Nicole Smith died of "an accidental overdose with no other criminal element present," Seminole Police Department Chief Charlie Tiger announced at a press conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Monday. He said the police conducted a thorough investigation, which included reviewing hundreds of hours of videotapes captured by the hotel security cameras and analyzing the contents of the laptop computer belonging to Smith's companion, Howard K. Stern, and "we found nothing to indicate any foul play." Broward County medical examiner Dr. Joshua Perper, who earlier had declined to make the autopsy results public until he reviewed the evidence, said that Smith's system contained methadone, anti-anxiety and weight-reducing drugs and, possibly, vitamins, among other substances ... Tiger said Monday that his department found "no evidence of illegal drugs" at the death scene and had reviewed "hundreds of hours of tapes [and] found nothing unusual." The day after Smith's death, police said they had found no evidence that a crime had been committed, and Perper said he'd found no serious injuries in his initial examination ... Meanwhile, an inquest into the death of her son, Daniel, in September at age 20 is due to begin Monday in the Bahamas. And so ... there you have it. Nothing about any of this is very surprising to me ... Anna Nicole never struck me as the responsible type of person who understood the dangers of drug interaction. As much as I loathe the man, I never believed that Howard K. Stern had anything to do with her intentional death. If anything, she prolly died too soon for him to plan for his future welfare. While I'm not convinced that this final ruling concerning Anna Nicole's death will totally quiet speculation, I feel that now there can be some sense of closure. That is, until the final results in the death of her son, Daniel, are released. [Source]

In happy news amongst the living, Elton John threw a triumphant 60th birthday celebration in NYC at a star-studded concert at Madison Square Garden Sunday night ... here are pictures of Sir Elton from his performance last night:

Reports are that Elton played for close to 3 hours and gave an excellent performance. Made in Brazil blog has video from the show of Robin Williams toasting Elton and of the audience singing Happy Birthday HERE. [Source]

Pretty much every celeb in the general vicinity of Madison Square Garden was in attendance last night, here is but a smattering of the celebs who showed up for this jubilant affair:

It sounds like it was a spectacular concert/party. I wonder what Elton John has got up his sleeve for his 70th birthday? [Source]

Melissa Joan Hart, Rob Thomas and Tom Selleck were among the celebs who attended the premiere of the new Disney animated film Meet the Robinsons in Hollywood yesterday ... here are a few pics from the red carpet:

Interesting, Jodie Foster walked the red carpet alone ... even tho she has kids of her own and is happily attached to her partner. Hmm ... seems odd that Jodie would show up to a movie premiere for a kid's film and not want to be seen, at the very least, with her kids. Strange. [Source]

Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony made an appearance at the Echo Music Awards (which is, essentially, the German version of the Grammy Awards) over the weekend and while Jenny Lo was lookin' really hot ... her hubby was lookin' really ... not:

It must've been really hot for Marc Anthony's pits to sweat thru his suit. I realize that J. Lo is hot but c'mon. Perhaps the undead one has a severe glandular problem? Homie needs to thank his lucky stars each and every day ... if J. Lo can put up with a hubby with outrageously sweaty arm pits then she can prolly put up with close to anything. ICK! [Source]

Before Jennifer Lopez heated up the red carpet at the Echo Music Awards she pressed the flesh with a few fans in Berlin, Germany where she showed off her trademark booty:

It's been a little while since we've got to see the junk in J. Lo's trunk. Some people might've thought that she had gotten rid of it ... I am happy to report that her famously plump booty is still in full effect. [Source]

And speaking of the famously plump, Victoria Beckham (with her bulbous boobs and swollen lips) stepped out on the town with her fabulously well-dressed and extremely hot husband David Beckham in London over the weekend:

Le sigh. He is so hot ... she is so plastic, it's so not fair. It appears that they got their hair highlighted with matching streaks tho, that's kinda cute (but not really). [Source]

Avril Lavigne is in Paris, France right now doing promo for her new album The Best Damn Thing ... here are pictures of the little punk rocker as she made her way into her Parisian hotel this weekend:

LOL! It looks like Avril has been rummaging around in magician Lance Burton's closet (or some such other magically inclined performer's closet). What the hell was she thinking? All that's missing is the top hat and cane. Nice vest, tho! [Source]

Fergie Ferg brought her Glamorous Fergaliciousness to the G-A-Y nightclub in London, England this past Saturday night ... here are a few pics:

Fergie was lookin' particularly unmannish for this performance ... which is a nice change of pace. I think she was just lucky enough to stumble into really favorable lighting. [thanks Martin]

Here are a few pictures of Mario Lopez doing a little Spring cleaning as he got rid of some unwanted stuff in his garage over the weekend:

Yeah, there's no real reason why I posted these pictures other than those arms that that butt. Just overlook the headband and there's no problem. [Source]

And finally, it is with EXTREME GLEE that I report that the amazing radio program Big Sonic Heaven, which aired on 96.3 FM from 1995 to 2003 in Detroit Rock City has been revived here in LA on Indie 103.1. A great many of you have no idea what I'm talking about but my peoples back in Detroit know of what I speak. While driving in my car last Thursday I stumbled upon the radio show (and DJ Darren Revell's smooth and sexy voice) and practically ran my car into a tree!

The show airs every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10PM to midnight (PT) and the amazing news is that the show streams live online HERE. Unfortch for my peoples in the Eastern time zone that means 1AM to 2AM. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Big Sonic Heaven here is the show description from the Indie 103 website: Big Sonic Heaven is a radio show on Indie 103.1 playing ethereal, dream-pop, electronic, shoegaze, electro-pop, deep alternative, etc… Big Sonic Heaven airs Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday nights from 10p-12m (PST). Hosted, programmed and produced by Darren Revell. Originally broadcast from 1995-2003 in Detroit now makes it's Los Angeles debut. Listen to Indie 103.1 FM and on-line at indie1031.com. Playlists from each show can be found HERE. From what I gather from the BSH My Space page, the show was only revived here in LA last month. Darren Revell also used to host a weekly dance party back in Detroit called Sugar Hiccup where he played the same sort of music (Garbage, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Cure, Cocteau Twins, The Smiths, Mazzy Star, The Sundays, Bjork ...) which, incidentally, is where Erik and I had our first date. Please pardon my rant ... I am just so excited that Darren Revell lives and is still doing Big Sonic Heaven. I've missed his radio program since it went off the air in Detroit ... I hope it finds a nice, long life here in LA. [Source]

Les News:
Yesterday afternoon, Tracey, Zakiya and I made out way out to Santa Monica to spend the day at the beach ... unfortch, it was pretty cold and we weren't able to frolic in the ocean as I had hoped. Nonetheless, we had a great time ...

Today I have a big surprise for both Zakiya and Tracey ... and they don't know it yet. When I'm finished with today's post, we're driving down to Anaheim, CA so that we can spend the day at Disneyland! I haven't been to Disneyland in years and I can't wait to see the look on Zakiya's face when she gets her first look at the Magic Kingdom.

Tracey and Z leave for Detroit tomorrow ... so we've got to make the most of the time we have left. That is all ... we've got a date with Mickey Mouse!
