Letter Of Truth: Britney Opens Up

In what is prolly Britney Spears' longest (8 paragraphs), most profound (and a Quote of the Month) Letter of Truth to date, Brit Brit opens up about her perspective on the things that have been happening in her life in recent months (both before and after her stint in rehab). Brit posted the following letter to her fans on her official website this morning and explains her side of the story:

Dear Fans,

I just wanted to reach out to all of you and explain some of the things that I have been faced with recently.

It's so funny how many stories are put out there about people. It's like we all want our side of the story out there as well, but at the end of the day only a few people care to hear what is really going on since the bad is always so much more interesting than the truth. I don't know why, but this is so weird to me. I used to be angry at the tabloids for printing horrible things about me, but now I try to just be numb to what I see. I saw Tyra Banks once get really upset and cry on her show because they made her look fat. We all want a certain image of ourselves out there, and at some point we all do really care what other people think or we wouldn't be here.

Recently, I was sent to a very humbling place called rehab. I truly hit rock bottom. Till this day I don't think that it was alcohol or depression. I was like a bad kid running around with ADD. I had a manager from a long time ago come in and try to direct me and my life after I got my divorce. I was so overwhelmed I think that I was in a little shock too. I didn't know who to go to. I realized how much energy and love I had put into my past relationship when it was gone because I genuinely did not know what to do with myself, and it made me so sad. I confess, I was so lost.

This letter is to not place blame on anyone, although I do see the world with a completely different set of eyes now. Being in that vulnerable state and taken to dinners and parties with friends and finding out later you paid for everything was a huge learning lesson for me. I think the whole problem was letting too many people into my life. You never know another persons intentions or what another person wants. I feel I was too open and looking for answers when I had it all to begin with. I have had to cut so many people out of my life. It is so sad, because if anyone is a family person ... it is me. When I was little I remember every night watching movies with my family and feeling so at peace. Dancing and singing all the time just like a little girl should. Now recently I find with my children that I want them to have that feeling all of the time. I am having to face a lot of things right now since I have children of my own. A lot of insecurities from when I was little are coming up again. It is like we are never good enough.

I know everyone thinks that I am playing the victim, but I am not and I hate what is going on right now so much. Maybe this is the reason for this letter ... to maybe allow people to look at me differently. It is like when you are a real woman and say what you feel and how you think things are supposed to be, that people just say you are a "bitch."

I feel like some of the people in my life made more of some issues than was necessary. I also feel like they knew I was beginning to use my brain for a change and cut some ties, so they wanted to be in more control of my life than me. I think it is actually normal for a young girl to go out after a huge divorce. I think it was a bigger issue because I had not gone out in such a long time. I am 25 and I do still have a lot to learn, and I am going to make mistakes everyday, and I am sure every mistake I make will probably be on CNN or Good Morning America. I am only human people and I love you for still loving me.

I am sitting here at home and it is 6:25 and both of my sons are asleep. I am truly blessed to have them in my life. Everyday is so surreal. Life in general is so surreal and crazy.

I just hope this letter made some of you think a little bit more of me and where I am coming from. I just want the same things in life that you want ... and that is to be happy. It is just so weird because everyone has their own perception of me and how they think I really am. It is so weird how stories are told. There is your side, my side, and the truth. Somebody has to figure it out. I guess we will never really understand or figure out life completely. That's God's job. I can't wait to meet him ... or her.

Love, Britney

Quote of the month...
It is ok to disagree with people regarding certain issues. You're not being true to yourself if you succumb to others opinions because you feel guilty.

This definitely has to be Britney's most heartfelt letter to date ... and it really reads as if she wrote it herself. If this letter is to be believed than Britney is really in a good place right now. She seems aware of her actions and the mistakes that she's made and even tho she says she's not blaming anyone for the things that she's done she kinda lays some of the blame on her "manager" who we know was Larry Rudolph. I'm sure there is plenty of blame to go around ... I'm just glad to know that she seems conscious of right and wrong (something I wasn't sure she was really truly aware of before her stint in rehab). I really hope this is a sign of things to come. If she stays grounded in her family and her work she's bound to keep her life on track. Good luck, Brit, as always ... I'll be rootin' for you ...

... just lay off on the stains and trashy jewelry, k? XO [Source]

L. Lo Gives Rehab Another Shot

It seems that Lindsay Lohan's latest brush with the law has elicited concern from people all over the globe ... including her fellow Hollywood "It" Girls. Britney Spears flagged down a paparazzo yesterday and inquired with him how Lindsay was doing. Could this latest incident have scared Britney Spears straight? Here are pictures of Brit Brit leaking thru her clothing (both in the front and in the back) showing off her new bling as she talked to the pap yesterday:

Now, I am all for Hollywood "It" Girl solidarity and I think it's great that Britney is concerned for Lindsay. If this incident can be a lesson to Hollywood "It" Girls everywhere than something positive can come of it. Something tells me, tho, that this prolly isn't the case. I'm not sure what it would take to get these wild girls to calm down ... maybe lobotomies? [Source, Source]

It appears that not even the threat of criminal prosecution can get Lindsay Lohan to calm her ways ... here are pictures of a whacked out Lindsay Lohan in the front seat of Samantha Ronson's car about 48 hours after she crashed her car and was arrested for driving under the influence ... you will note that the poor girl was even having trouble standing on her own two feet:

Just 48 hours after being arrested over a car crash in Los Angeles, Lindsay Lohan proved it hasn't deterred her from hard partying. The 20-year-old was caught staggering out of exclusive LA nightclub Teddy's at 4.30am, and later passed out in the back of her chauffeur-driven car. Wearing a grey hooded jacket, Lohan was seen falling to her knees and needed the help of her driver to make it to the vehicle. Dang ... the girl looks an utter mess. I can't believe that her "friends" think it's a good idea to let her continue to party mere hours after she was arrested for drunk driving. It looks like she needs better friends. [Source]

In Touch Weekly is reporting that Lindsay is going back into a rehab program (she's scheduled to check in today) to try and straighten out ... it should come as no big surprise that she's headed for Britney Spears' old haunt, the Promises Rehab Facility in Malibu, CA:

Lindsay Lohan is on her way back into rehab, In Touch can exclusively reveal. After a wild weekend that saw her arrested for DUI early Saturday morning — and then passed out in a car just two days later — she's seeking treatment. "She finally realizes it's the right thing to do," a close friend of the 20-year-old actress tells In Touch exclusively. "She is going willingly." Lindsay is due to check into Promises in Malibu this afternoon (LA-time) In Touch has learned. That is the facility that Britney Spears entered after shaving her head. The Georgia Rule star's decision contrasts starkly from her behavior just last night at Teddy's nightclub. Insiders say Lindsay was partying as hard as ever at a 944 Magazine party and kept insisting she didn't care about the consequences of her arrest when cocaine was discovered in her wrecked Mercedes convertible. She was later photographed passed out in the front passenger seat of a car being driven by her friend, disc jockey Samantha Ronson. This will be Lindsay's second spell in rehab this year. She completed a 30-day course in the Wonderland rehab facility in Los Angeles on February 16.

It's just so sad to see her spiraling down like this ... I sincerely hope she gets the help she desperately needs. So sad.

Until L. Lo gets herself all straightened out at Promises, Pretty on the Outside is advising that these signs get put up all over LA in the meantime:

We wouldn't want anyone else to get hurt in the interim. [Source]

Paris Hilton is about 8 days away from having to surrender herself to an LA County jailhouse for 23-days but she didn't let that get in the way of her Memorial Day celebration. Paris threw a party for her closest friends yesterday, natch, and made sure to fly the Stars and Stripes outside her home:

She gets an A+ for model citizenship in my book. I still don't think any of this behavior will do much to reduce or eliminate her jail sentence. [Source]

Elsewhere on Memorial Day, Mary-Kate Olsen was spotted finding comfort wrapped in the warm embrace of her lover Max Snow while taking the time to puff on a ciggy:

See, not all Hollywood "It" Girls are wild. Strange as it may seem, MK actually one of the normal ones. Wait, did I just say that? [Source]

While love was blossoming with Mary-Kate and Max, the same cannot be said for Jessica Simpson and John Mayer. Johnica jetted down to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in what appears to be an attempt to try and patch up their relationship ... if these pictures are any indication, it looks like they failed:

It seems clear that the couple were having a serious heart-to-heart on the balcony of their ocean-view villa and that that conversation did not end well. It now appears that things are really, really dunzo for Jess and John. [Source]

Miss Japan was crowned the new Miss Universe for 2007 in Mexico City, Mexico last night ... amid some bit of controversy. Not only was the competition met with vigorous protests outside (Miss Sweden even pulled out of the competition altogether because many Swedes find the competition does not properly represent the modern woman) but Miss USA, Rachel Smith, was booed by the audience until she began speaking in Spanish -- LOL! Here are a couple pictures of the new Miss Universe, Riyo Mori:

A 20-year-old dancer from Japan was crowned Miss Universe 2007 on Monday night, marking only the second time her country has won the world beauty title. Dressed in a black, red and purple Japanese-style gown, Riyo Mori nervously grabbed the hands of first runner-up, Natalia Guimaraes of Brazil, just before the winner was announced. Then she threw her hands up and covered her mouth, overcome with emotion. But she gathered herself together enough to catch the diamond-and-pearl-studded headpiece valued at $250,000 as it slipped off her head when Miss Universe 2006 Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico crowned her. Mori immediately placed it back on her head ... "She is an amazing champion, an amazing woman and I hear that they go totally insane in Japan, so that's good," said Donald Trump, who co-owns the pageant with NBC. Miss USA Rachel Smith, who slipped and fell to the floor during the evening gown competition and was jeered by the Mexican audience during the interview phase, was the contest's fourth runner-up ... Smith was booed during her interview and several audience members chanted "Mexico! Mexico!" until she spoke in Spanish, saying "Buenas noches, Mexico. Muchas gracias!" which earned her applause. Mexico has a fierce rivalry with its northern neighbor ... Missing from this year's contest was Miss Sweden, whose country is one of the few to win the crown three times. Isabel Lestapier Winqvist, 20, dropped out because many Swedes say the competition does not represent the modern woman. Hours before the pageant began, dozens of protesters held a mock ceremony in downtown Mexico City that featured "Miss Marijuana," "Miss Sexual Health," "Miss Human Rights" and other candidates with obscenities written across their sashes. The group yelled "Neither ugly nor beautiful, should a woman be considered an object!" Pageant organizers say the Miss Universe contest carefully selects women who are intelligent, well-mannered and cultured. Hahahahahah ... it almost doesn't seem worth having the pageant anymore ... ... I mean, where is the fun?

Oooooh, there it is :)

Pete Doherty and Kate Moss have taken their love of Coke to new heights:

Patti LaBelle recently celebrated her 63rd birthday at Love Night Club in Washington DC and was given a very special birthday surprise -- she got Jennifer Hudson to sing for her:

J. Hud got a surprise of her own -- she got to watch Patti put down that wine like there was no tomorrow. Heh ... looks like a good time was had by all. Happy Birthday, Patti! [Source]

Can someone please tell me how many babies Salma Hayek is supposed to be having?

Can someone also tell me when the poor woman is due? She looks like she's ready to burst from pretty much every seam she's got. [Source]

Here are a few new pictures of David Beckham doing some routine soccer training ...

Smashing Pumpkins returned to the stage after taking a few years off at the Pinkpop Music Festival in Landgraaf, The Netherlands yesterday to close out the 3 day festival ... here are pictures of Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan rockin' out on stage:

Those Papal robes do nothing to flatter Billy's figure. Billy-boy should rethink wearing anything tent-like on stage. [Source]

Rihanna was lookin' a might better during her performance at Dome 42 over the weekend ... here are a few hot pics of Rihanna performing her new hit song Umbrella:

So hot. Not only do I love this new song but I am totally loving her whole album Good Girl Gone Bad. Finally, she has gotten over that reggae-pop junk that she's been beatin' to death and has come up with some great pop music. I'm deff a new fan of her new stuff. [Source]

Here is a choppy vid of this Rihanna performance:

Do try and keep from getting seasick. Enjoy.

Here are the first official stills from the new Warner Bros. movie The Dark Knight which is currently shooting for a Summer '08 release. Director Christopher Nolan has revealed to USA Today that he is shooting 4 key scenes in the movie in IMAX big screen format:

All directors promise that their sequels will be bigger and flashier than the predecessors'. But Christopher Nolan doesn't mess around. The director's sequel to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, will become the first feature film to be partly shot in the IMAX format, an expensive and cumbersome process that typically is the province of documentaries and short films. Nolan will shoot four action sequences — including the introduction of the Joker, played by Heath Ledger — on IMAX ... "There's simply nothing like seeing a movie that way," Nolan says. "It's more immersive for the audience. I wish I could shoot the entire thing this way." Typically, the feature films that play in IMAX theaters are simply stretched out to fill the enormous screens. That can dilute the picture quality and give the movie a wide, squat look. Shooting on IMAX, Nolan says, will have a twofold effect. The four scenes will fill the IMAX screens, some of which are eight stories high. And in traditional theaters, the scenes will appear more vivid (think high-definition television over standard) ... For Nolan, IMAX makes the moviegoing experience unique again. "You can't do this on any home theater," Nolan says. "Batman has some of the most extraordinary characters in pop culture. We wanted the Joker to have the grandest entrance possible. "I figured if you could take an IMAX camera to Mount Everest or outer space, you could use it in a feature movie." I love this idea. You can tell that Christopher Nolan is a true Batman connoisseur and that his love of the character (and mythos) is really guiding how the movies will turn out. And I couldn't be more pleased! I'm confident that he won't let this new Batman franchise go into the toilet like the last one did -- a pox on Joel Schumacher -- a pox! [Source]

And finally, the boys over at Oh La La have helped out the fabulous DNA magazine produce a sexy Parisian photoshoot for the current issue. Here are a few of the amazing photographs that were shot for DNA by photographer Fred Goudon:

Steph and Alek really have an eye for sexy styling, as these photos by Fred Goudon clearly show. Head on over to Oh La La to see other pics from this shoot ... make sure you check out THESE marginally NSFW images shot by photographer Pedro Virgil from the same issue of DNA. [Source]

Les News:
Blah ... my internet woes continue ... as my connection is still not functioning. I thought I had a better solution than hauling my cookies to the local cafe but it didn't really pan out at 6AM this morning so I had to come down to the cafe anyways. Ah well ... I'm sure it won't be long before my connection is fixed. I'll do my best to keep from losing my shizz in the meantime.

Yesterday evening, I met up with Mike for a quick cup of coffee at a place in Studio City called Aroma and we ended up staying for a couple of hours talking and shopping. This coffee house not only serves food but it also has a small book/gift shop right inside. And yeah ... that was pretty much my night. Without having a functioning internet connection at home I'm doing more reading and journal writing so at least something positive is coming from my technology woes.

So ... I guess that is all. I hope y'all aren't finding it too difficult to get back into the swing of things after the long weekend ... at least the week will be a short one. That is all ... I am out.
