Welcome To The Neighborhood

Britney Spears had a bizzy week last week, what with all the career comeback stuff she had going on with the filming of her new music video (which may be discussed at least in some part in this week's issue of OK! magazine since Britters gave them an interview while on set -- but That Other Blog has a pretty gritty account from a crew member of what went down on the music video set HERE), and it looks like she carried that bizziness into the weekend. Britney has already put her current mansion on the market for sale and is in the process of finding a new place to live. Here are pictures of Britney making her way to and then taking a tour of a potential new place for her to call home:

Hmmm ... it looks like Britney really loves the place because she apparently felt at home enough to kick off her shoes and walk around the place barefoot. We know how much the girl loves public restrooms and she has no problem frequenting said restrooms sans shoes so if she's doing the same thing here, then it must be lurve. The place looks very nice and looks big enough to handle all of Brit's kids and dogs ... well, which means it might not stay nice for long. Blah. [Source, Source]

Last night, Hollywood A-Listers Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith threw a huge bash to welcome David and Victoria Beckham to the good ol' U S of A. The shindig was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art right here in Los Angeles, CA and a veritable Who's Who of celebs showed up for the affair. First up, here are a few pics of the guests of honor along with their party hosts:

Posh and Becks looked faboo as usual, making sure to pat each other on the behinds as a show of affection. Tom Cruise arrived from Germany where he has been bizzy working on his new movie Valkyrie and looked absolutely miniscule standing next to his lovely wife, the ginormous Katie Holmes. Will and Jada looked their usual flashy selves, with Will opting to wear a highly reflective grey suit -- which would explain his need to wear sunglasses in the middle of the night. [Source]

So yeah, pretty much anyone who was anyone came out to party with and for the Beckhams last night ... here is but a smattering of the folks who showed up to party:

Capping a whirlwind week of festivities marking the arrival of David and Victoria Beckham to Los Angeles, superstar duos Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith hosted a gala private party Sunday night for their British pals at the Museum of Contemporary Art's Geffen Contemporary in downtown L.A. "It was so much fun!" a guest tells PEOPLE. Boasting a Who's Who celeb turnout, including Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, Brooke Shields and husband Chris Henchy, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, Bruce Willis, newlywed Eva Longoria (without Tony Parker), Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Quincy Jones, the party came on the heels of Saturday's much-anticipated American debut of the L.A. Galaxy's newest and most famous soccer player. Holmes and Cruise, who flew in for the weekend from Germany where he's shooting the movie Valkyrie, drove to the party with the Smiths, and the three couples posed for photos before heading inside the decked-out warehouse space, where a deejay spun tunes into the night. And the music struck responsive chords, with the Cruises, Smiths and Beckhams all hitting the dance floor. On the menu were such British favorites as bangers and mash (sausages and mashed potatoes), as well as such classic American fare as burgers, fries and salad. All I can say is, how hot does Alyson Hannigan look with her fab hair and sexy black dress! I love it! Tony Parker must not be a big soccer fan (er, or maybe he's just bizzy doing basketball stuff somewhere) because not only did he not attend Becks's debut game with the Galaxy on Saturday but he was also a no-show for the party last night ... new wife Eva Longoria had to fly solo on both occasions. Matthew Perry also showed up all by his lonesome but he made sure to bring along his signature Chandler face from Friends (which he should've retired years ago but hey, it made him a very rich man so I guess he can beat that look to death for as long as he likes). Scary Spice Mel B was also at the party with her new man and other guests included Lil' Kim, Rihanna, Common, Forest Whitaker, Jon Voight and Stevie Wonder. It seems clear from the guest turnout that Hollywood is happily embracing Les Beckhams as one of their own. And, from what I understand, the dancefloor was packed with celebs trying to outdance one another and just having a fun time overall. What a great way to welcome the Beckhams to America ... it's clear that we all want them to stay here for a long time. [Source]

Er ... just one thing, we want them to stay alive while they live here and a good way to ensure that that happens is for Becks to learn how to keep his eyes on the road when he's driving around town:

I know they drive all funny over on the other side of the pond, what with all that driving in the wrong lane and all, but around here it's vital that one pays attention when driving ... especially in LA. Ah well, I guess we can cut him some slack since he's new ;) [Source]

So yeah, this soccer thing is really starting to take off here ... over the weekend a bunch of celebs got together to play a friendly game of futbol at an event called Soccer for Survivors hosted by the Hollywood United Football Club at Beverly Hills High School in Beverly Hills, CA. Here are a few pics from the game:

Yeah, I think I can get used to seeing hot celebs running around in those little soccer shorts ... David Beckham, please help make soccer a more popular sport here in the US so that we can finally enjoy the bounty that the rest of the world had been enjoying for years. [Source]

Last night Comedy Central hosted The Roast of Flavor Flav at the Warner Bros. studios in Burbank, CA where comedians, musicians and celebs turned out to celebrate the most famous Hype Man in rap history. Here are a few pics from last night's red carpet:

It looks like the Beckham party managed to steal away the big names but the folks who really love Flavor Flav were in the building the celebrate and poke fun at him. Brigitte Nielsen even busted herself out of rehab to join the festivities for her Foofy Foofy. Outside of a little tasteless joke controversy, the Roast of Flavor Flav sounds like it turned out to be a fun affair -- which you can see for yourself when it airs on Comedy Central on August 12th. [Source]

When Will Smith wasn't bizzy this weekend welcoming Becks and Vicki B. to America, he was bizzy shooting scenes for his new movie titled John Hancock ...

... which, I would guess, tells the tale of a very naughty superhero who has an insatiable fetish for rubber and leather (eh, don't they all). I quite like the eagle that is emblazoned on the back of the leather jacket ... he could pick up quite a few folks and his friendly neighborhood leather bar. How else to do think he picked up Jada? [Source]

In other happy celebratory news, Naomi Watts and her babydaddy Liev Shrieber threw a little baby shower over the weekend to celebrate the impending birth of their new child(ren?). Here are pics from their afternoon party:

I'm actually quite surprised that Naomi hasn't busted that kid (those kids?) out yet. She looks ripe to be explodin' babies all over the place. I'm sure it won't be long now ... either that large baby (or that bunch of small babies) will be bustin' out the normal way or her head it going to pop right off. [Source]

One more thing, the amazing Robin Tunney was among the guests at Naomi's baby shower and I just had to post a couple pics of her:

I just love Robin. We don't normally get to see many pictures of her around town these days (especially since she was brutally killed off on Prison Break early last season) so I'll take what I can get. Robin stars in a few of my fave movies (The Craft, Empire Records, Niagara, Niagara, Cherish) and I don't think she gets enough props for being so awesome. [Source]

Well lookie here ... it appears that Paris Hilton has figured out a way to keep her partygirl image and still do some of that charity work that she said she was gonna do when she was in jail ... now, she parties for good causes! Here are a couple pics of Paris as she makes her way to some benefit in LA over the weekend:

Good for her for trying to make the world a better place. She even gave that overly tanned boy a job by letting him carry her pink shopping bag -- I love it, she's making a difference for mankind already. I knew Paris wouldn't let the suffering people of the world down by going back on her word. [Source]

Jerry O'Connell seems to be very proud that he is married to Rebecca Romijn because here are a few cute pictures of the newlyweds emerging from a work-out session at the gym and Jerry is happily showing off his new wedding ring:

They make such a great couple. I'm glad they tied the knot and made it official. They are the cutest. [Source]

I have to wonder what sort of thought process tells a person that it is a good idea, nay, a fashionable idea to go out in public wearing shiny silver stretchy pants ...

... because unless you're on stage as a male backup dancer on a Ricky Martin tour then this is a look that should be avoided at all costs. Blech. [Source]

Pink reader Vic sends in a couple of new pictures of Xtina Aguilera as she performs on her Back to Basics tour down under in Australia earlier this week. The first pic is from her show in Perth and the second is from her show in Brisbane and it looks like she is really starting to show the beginnings of her first baby bump:

I'm not sure how long she's got left on the road but it's becoming evident that she won't be able to fit into those tight-fitting costumes for much longer. [thanks Vic]

In other performance news, Sophie Ellis-Bextor performed for the UK show T4 recently and because I am really loving her new album Trip the Light Fantastic, here are a few pics from her performance:

Sophie is really one of those amazing British popstars that I wish would get more recognition here in the US. I have been a huge fan since her first album came out and I'm always happy to show her some love on the blog. [Source]

And finally, I have to send out lots of Birthday Lurve to Mr. Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe ... who turns a mostly legal 18 years old today:

I guess now it's not really so creepy to be fascinated with the sometimes half-nekkid Danny boy now that he's of legal age. Tho, he is still the embodiment of the younger Harry Potter so maybe it's still a bit creepy. In any event and all creepiness aside, I hope Daniel has himself a very happy birthday!

Time to start planning your Fall schedules! Woot!

Les News:
Yesterday was a pretty chill day. I ran around town doing a few errands before meeting up with Mike for a nice relaxing evening. We didn't do much, just hung out and grabbed a bite to eat. The lazy days of summer are in full swing these days. I have my follow-up appointment with the DMV today which I am SOOO excited for. Blah. I sincerely hope your day is much more entertaining ... or at the very least, is much less painful.

That is all. I'm out.
