X Marks The Hot

Hmm. So yesterday we got to see pictures of an annoyed Britney Spears who seemed fed up with all the media attention that she's been receiving these days (hence her need to wave to the paps with just one finger) and I mused that it would prolly be a better idea for her to just spend more time with her kids at home in order to escape all the attention ... today we see that she got it half right:

Don't get me wrong, these pics of Brit with Sean Preston are supercute (despite the fact that many people will be making Britney Sucks jokes regarding the pacifier) but she looks a bit annoyed and Sean P. looks like he ain't havin' it. I don't understand why she can't just stay home. Is she not allowed to stay home? Does someone come to her home and make her leave on a daily basis? I don't get it. If the girl just learned how to chillax for a damn minute I think she'd prolly appreciate the respite from all the havoc that shopping at the trendiest stores in SoCal brings down upon her and her children. I just don't get it. Someone needs to save her. [Source, Source]

And since we're on the subject of saving, Mariah Carey was honored at the Lincoln Center in NYC last night at the VH1 Save the Music Foundation's 10th Anniversary Gala for her tireless efforts to, er, save the music, natch. Here are a few pics of Mimi from the red carpet and of her acceptance speech last night:

Mariah Carey said it only made sense to work for the Save the Music Foundation because music saved her. "Music has always been my saving grace," said Carey, accepting her award at the foundation's 10th anniversary gala Thursday night at Lincoln Center. "Like everyone growing up, my life wasn't easy," said the Greenlawn native. "I don't always like to talk about it in great detail, but music saved my life literally. Writing songs and singing is so therapeutic for me" ... The Save the Music Foundation, which donates instruments to public schools and helps fund music education programs, honored Carey, President Bill Clinton and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, former VH1 president John Sykes, who launched the foundation in 1997 ... In her acceptance speech, Carey said she was always thrilled when fans tell her that her song "Hero" saved their lives or that her hit "We Belong Together" helped saved a marriage. "I was often discouraged," she said. "Thank god, I never gave up." I love it. She is a diva and a humanitarian. In other awesome news, Mariah revealed that her new album, the as-yet untitled follow-up to her smash hit album The Emancipation of Mimi, is scheduled for a December 4th release date. Holla! [Source]

Mariah wasn't the only caring musician in the hiz for the Save the Music event last night, here are a few pics of some of the other celebs who attended the 10th Anniversary Gala:

John Mayer has been a huge proponent of the Save the Music Foundation and altho he didn't show up to the gala wearing his awesome Batman hoodie, I think he still looked pretty nice in his suit. Mya and Vanessa Carleton looked very lovely and James Blunt looked like he needed a shave ... which is his usual look. [Source]

Here in LA, young Hollywood turned out to be honored/celebrated by Teen Vogue magazine at their annual Young Hollywood Party at Vibiana. Here are a few pics from the red carept:

Photo credit: Splash News & Wireimage

Jamie Lynn was holding it down for the Spears family and Hilary Duff was feelin' risque enough to try and pull off a beret on the red carpet. Altho the look is a bit too Kim Basinger in the original 1989 Batman movie for my taste, it didn't look too terrrrible overall. Hayden Panettiere and Stephen Colletti crossed paths for the first time at the same event since news broke that they ended their relationship ... I wonder if there were any awkward moments on the red carpet ... [Source, Source]

... actually, there might've been because Stephen didn't hang out long at the Teen Vogue party ... he hightailed it to Opera nightclub for the Hornitos Tequila event that was hosted by Ashlee Simpson:

Isn't it interesting that as soon as Stephen gets out of a relationship (ie. gets dumped) the first thing he does is run back to his Laguna Beach backup Lauren LC Conrad? Fans of Laguna Beach: The Real OC may recall that that was his M.O. back in the day whenever his girlfriend Kristin Cavallari cast him aside. So interesting. Anyways ... you know, Ashlee got a little ... randy ... at the Belvedere Vodka party in Las Vegas a couple of weekends ago ... I wonder what she was like at the Hornitos Tequila event last night. I would hope that she was able to control herself last night ... especially since her boyfriend Pete Wentz was outta town. [Source]

And speaking of Vegas, Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Ashanti and others were on hand at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for the world premiere of their new movie (the third in the franchise) Resident Evil: Extinction ... here are a few pics:

I love Milla ... if she's not makin' Resident Evil movies then she's makin' babies ... it's always one or the other. As I've mentioned before, I am a *huge* fan of the Resident Evil movies. As far as movies based on video games go, there are bad ones (Mortal Kombat) and there are worse ones (Mortal Kombat: Annihilation) and there are bad ones that are cheesy but still kinda cute and enjoyable (Street Fighter, starring Kylie Minogue as an excellent Cammy) ... but the Resident Evil movies, all of them so far, have been very fun to watch and very true to the original game. I have no doubt that this third installment will be just as good. I'm counting on my homeboy Darion to hold out and wait to see this movie with me :) [Source]

Jennifer Lopez has landed in London to do some promo work and, despite the usual reports of her outrageous divaness (not in a good Mariah Carey way), she looked utterly amazing everywhere she went ... behold:

If proof were needed that multi-millionaire singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is no longer resident on the block - unless you're talking Park Avenue - her list of diva demands would be all that's needed to convince ... And as is standard for most celebrities, Lopez made sure to send her hotel, The five-star Dorchester, a detailed two page list of everything needed to ensure she enjoys her reported two-day stay. Oh, whatever ... what's the point of being that rich if you can't indulge yourself with the necessities? I know that I simply cannot go anywhere without my "mirror of adequate size that is either hanging or propped up against wall (for make up)" ... I mean, duhvs! Click HERE to see a portion of the 5-page list of all of J. Lo's extremely reasonable demands. [Source]

Angelina Jolie and sorta-hubby Brad Pitt do their best to drop off the kiddies at school together in order to not overwhelm one or the other ... except in those instances when Brad has something better to do ... then the task falls solely on Angelina to get the job done:

What the eff is the poor woman gonna do when they procure more kids? It sounds like someone is gonna be needing a manny very soon ... paging Perry Taylor! [Source]

Jessica Alba and Dane Cook appeared on MTV's TRL yesterday afternoon (altho they taped the ep earlier in the week) to do some promotion for their new romantic/comedy Good Luck Chuck ... here are a few pics:

Chuck opens in theaters today and, I gotta say, if you're looking for a hi-larious movie that's also very cute and sweet deep down (while being chock full of female breasts/Dane Cook's toned ass) then this is the movie you should be seeing this weekend. If you don't, Jessica Alba might show up at your house and make you touch her freaky-ass finger. Yipes! [Source]

Okay all you Sex and the City fanatics who are ravenous for any new information regarding the new Sex and the City movie that is currently undergoing production in NYC (and who have been emailing me like CRAZY chastising me for not watching the show when it was on the air), here are a few new pictures from the filming. I've gathered that posting the full size pics outright might be a bit of a spoiler (and the movie only started filming about 2 days ago) for the movie which is due out May 30, 2008 so I cropped the pics for posting:

If you're really interested in finding out why Kristin Davis's character might be acting over emotional then you can click above to, perhaps, find out. The info might be a big deal to learn. [Source]

For those of you concerned about the well-being of the incarcerated Girls Gone Wild maestro Joe Francis, here are newish pics of the convict cooling his heels in prison ... still:

I'm sure there're 1 or 2 of you out there who might've been wondering what he was up to these days.

UPDATE: Apparently, Joe Francis has been very bizzy writing letters to people other than Candy Spelling:

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As most of you know, for nearly the past six months I have been in jail. What you may not know is the full story of why. I have patiently maintained my silence during my stay in jail because I believed in the American judicial process. I am sad to say that in recent months, this belief has begun to erode. The system that I believed would protect and exonerate me has instead been used in far more troubling ways.

Since this ordeal began, most of you have contacted me to ask if there was anything you could to do help. I greatly appreciate your kind expressions of love and support. Now there is something you can do, which may be very helpful to me. Please click on the link below to read a full account of my legal situation. I'm sure that once you learn the story for yourself and understand the circumstances that have brought me to this point, you'll be as outraged as I am. The scariest thing about my situation is not that it's happening to someone you know, but that it could just as easily happen to you. I never expected my life to be a cautionary tale, but if revealing the truth behind my circumstances can help one other person avoid being grievously mishandled by the justice system, then it is worth telling.

I hope you will forward this link to your contact list, encourage your friends to read it and ask them to pass it along further.

Your friend,
Joe

AMAZING NEWS! I received an email from Kylie.com regarding the release of her new studio album which, it has been revealed, is titled X. I'm not sure if the image that accompanied the news alert is the actual album cover (my guess is no) but at least the tracklisting was included as well:

Kylie Minogue's eagerly-awaited new album 'X' hits stores on November 26th. The 13 track album, Kylie's first new studio album in four years, was recorded in London, Stockholm and Ibiza, and features the first new Kylie material since the greatest hits compilation 'Ultimate Kylie' in 2004.

'X' includes collaborations with the likes of Richard "Biff" Stannard, The Freemasons, Cutfather & Jonas Jeberg, Bloodshy & Avant, Calvin Harris, Greg Kurstin, Eg White, Guy Chambers and Cathy Dennis.

Here's the tracklist!

2 Hearts
Like A Drug
In My Arms
Speakerphone
Sensitized
Heart Beat Rock
The One
No More Rain
All I See
Stars
Wow
Nu-di-ty
Cosmic

Happy, happy day! Bloodshy & Avant are the dudes who wrote Britney Spears's hit song Toxic, Guy Chambers is Robbie Williams's writing partner and Cathy Dennis (a star in her own right) wrote the smash hit song Can't Get You Out Of My Head. This album is gonna be amazing. I've already been privy to the songs In My Arms and Sensitized and I already love them. I am SOOOO excited for this new album. I'll have all the new info about it as soon as it continues to come out. Woot! [Source]

Darren Hayes has updated his official website with a statement regarding the allegations that he racially assaulted some guy in a restaurant in July:

Honestly, I never paid any credence to the allegations, which (suspiciously) came out on the very day that his new album This Delicate Thing We've Made was released. I was absolutely convinced that Darren would be vindicated ... I'm glad this sorry mess is behind him at last. [Source]

David Beckham also updated his official website this week with a new blog post ...

... that bored me to absolute tears. [Source]

I have to send out lots of BIRTHDAY LURVE to my girl Nicole Richie who is celebrating her 26th birthday today:

It is my sincere hope that the mom-to-be has an amazing birthday today and that she gets showered with ridiculously expensive gifts from her babydaddy Joel Madden. Have a great birthday, Nicole! xoxo

And finally ... it's time for me to announce the winner of the pair of Tori Amos tickets I have to give away. I asked all readers interested in winning the tickets to merely submit a pinkified photo where the pinkification was in someway related to Tori Amos in order to be eligible ... then I randomly selected one submission and ... voila ... we have our winner, his name is John. Here is his winning submission:

Actually, I think all the credit goes to John's dog Riley who is all Space Dogged in the pic. Congrats John & Riley! Be on the lookout for an email from me regarding your free tickets!

As a bonus, my boy Abe at Epic Records has provided me with an autographed CD/Vinyl combo package of Tori Amos's new album American Doll Posse to give away as well ... so I randomly picked another submission and Amanda is the winner of this prize. Here is her submission:

I love this pic too ... there is something very Jackie's Strength about it. Congrats to both John and Amanda ... I hope you both love your prizes :)

Be on the lookout ... I'll have another concert ticket giveaway to announce this weekend.

Les News:
Wee! David arrived safe and sound early last night so after we dropped off his luggage at my place, we had a little impromptu celebration with some birthday cupcakes I got for him from Sprinkles in Beverly Hills. Let me tell you ... he enjoyed those bad boys :) Afterwards we grabbed a bite to eat at Pink Taco and then headed into WeHo for a couple of birthday drinks ... with all the lesbians who were out for Lesbian Night in West Hollywood. Since David had a long day of flying, we called it an early night.

This afternoon I'm taking him out for a full day of pampering at a day spa as his birthday celebration continues ... so I have to be off. Have a great weekend, y'all! I'm out.
