Here Comes The Rain Again

Well, I successfully made my way back home to Detroit really, really early this morning only to find the weather significantly cooler and much wetter than I'm used to. It's funny, I moved to California from Michigan a little over a year ago and already it's as if I've never encountered cold weather before. Honestly, it's not even the weather that is the most difficult thing to deal with ... even tho I got to sleep a bit on the plane, I arrived here in Detroit at about 5AM, which felt like 2AM to me. OY! But ... there is goss to be had (as meager as it is and has been all week, actually) so let's get to it ...

The latest court hearing in the on-going Spederline custody battle is scheduled to take place today at 1:30 PM PT (4:30 PM ET). This is where Britney Spears and Kevin Federline will square off face-to-face in open court to hear what the judge has decided regarding custody of their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. I understand that Britney will be requesting a return to the 50/50 custody arrangement that was in place before the kids were taken from her and K-Fed will be asking for 70/30 in his favor -- if anything at all. Despite the fact that Britney has been complying with the judge's order (pertaining to the court monitor, the random drug testing and the parenting classes) I really don't believe the judge is ready to give her the kids back just yet ... but that isn't stopping her from making preparations for, what I'm sure she believes will be, their eventual return back home with her. Britney packed up her boys along with the court-appointed child monitor and made her way out to Calabasas, CA to do some shopping at Swings 'N Things so that she could purchase a fun, expensive new toy for her boys:

Clearly the best way to show children that you love them, should the situation arise that you are no longer allowed to care for them full time, is by buying them big, expensive toys to play with. At least the poor little lamb is trying, we can at least give her credit for that. [Source]

It would seem that Britters has warmed up to the court-appointed monitor that has been assigned to watch over her when she enjoys what little visitation time she gets with her children. Not only is the court monitor a great babysitter but she also makes one hell of a great chauffeur:

I hope this lady is getting paid overtime. And I really hope she doesn't let her new job go to her head ... if she starts partying with Britney then I think we're gonna have a huge problem on our hands. [Source]

In one last bit of exceedingly minor Britney news, and I'm actually quite embarrassed to even mention this person at all but, Chris Crocker (the dude who rocketed to Internet fame after his Leave Britney Alone video was released to the InterWeb) has been taking full advantage of his 15 mins. of fame in every way possible ... but his ridiculous antics went way beyond the bounds of taste last night. Crocker, upon exiting the once uberexlucsive nightclub Hyde, decided to pull his own "Britney" when he showed the paparazzi that he wasn't wearing any underwear beneath his checkered dress ... and the result is absolutely and ENTIRELY too heinous for human eyes:

I'm sorry, y'all, but I simply cannot post the uncensored version of these pics on my blog. I kid you not when I saw it's the grossest thing I've encountered in prolly my entire existence on Earth. I'm sure some other blog with a far stronger stomach that mine will post the uncensored image for those of you brave enough to give it a peek. UGH ... click HERE to visit DListed to see the SUPERGROSS uncensored pics -- be warned, you will be sorry. I will say that Crocker ain't got too much to be proud of down there, so I have no idea why he would intentionally put his little bits on display. I really hate my eyes right now :( [Source]

Alright, let's move on and try and wash this image away ... Conde Nast threw its annual Black Ball, which benefits the Keep A Child Alive organization which works to offer medication and support to children suffering from AIDS in Africa, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC last night. Here are a few pics from the event's red carpet:

"You know service is the best Prozac, or any drugs that are out there for stress. Service! It's cheap, it's good!" AIDS activist and Keep A Child Alive founder Leigh Blake told audiences yesterday at Condé Nast's Black Ball in support of her organization. Ms. Blake, who left school at 14 to follow the Who and subsequently spent her life surrounded by artists like Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles and the Talking Heads, knows a thing or two about hosting a rock and roll event. The Ball was held at New York's famous Hammerstein Ballroom and honored musician Bono (of course!). During the ceremony, a South African dance group performed a synthesis of traditional African dance and classical ballet to the beat of African drums, while guests liked Gwen Stefani (in a piercing blue halter dress), Russel Simmons, Clive Davis, David Bowie and wife Iman (wearing Monique Lhullier) enjoyed a dinner designed by Top Chef host and Keep A Child Alive world ambassador Padma Lakshmi (in off-white Dolce and Gabbana). Ms. Blake was also joined by Alicia Keys, who co-founded Keep A Child Alive and performed at the ceremony ... "It's incredible to be performing," she told The Daily Transom. "Keep a Child Alive is a passion of mine, and it's something I constantly want to yell out about, so that people can understand that we provide the medicine for children and families that have AIDS who wouldn't be able to afford it and that it's necessary to do that." Keep A Child Alive is an absolutely necessary charity that can use all the help it can get. High profile events like this should be showcased so that awareness of the organization can be brought to the forefront. Yes, it's all well and good that Bono is honored for his tireless work for African AIDS charities but it's important to remember that every single one of us can make a difference in our own way as well. If you would like more information on how YOU can join the fight and help suffering children afflicted with this deadly disease you can click HERE to find out how YOU CAN HELP. [Source]

In other charitable news, Sarah Michelle Geller was on hand at the Metropolitan Pavilion in NYC last night to play host at the Lucky magazine 4th Annual Lucky Shops VIP Shopping Party which benefitted the Baby Buggy organization which is dedicated to providing New York City's families in need with essential equipment, clothing, and products for their infants and young children. Here are a few pics of SMG at last night's event:

Not only did SMG look great at the event but this is another great charity that deserves some awareness. It heartens the soul to know that in a world rife with scandal and trashy travails that some celebs are using their fame for much greater causes than their own egos. I always commend any celeb who takes time out of their extremely bizzy lives to devote much needed time, energy and money to charities in need. Well done, SMG! [Source]

In markedly more unfortunate news, it was reported yesterday that Lost star Daniel Dae Kim (Jin on the show) was arrested in Hawaii on suspicion of driving under the influence and today we get his lovely mugshot. He is the third Lost cast member to be arrested on charges of DUI:

It's trouble in paradise for another "Lost" star. Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Jin-Soo Kwon on the hit ABC series, was arrested early Thursday on suspicion of drunken driving, reports The Honolulu Advertiser. While specific details of the arrest have not been made public, authorities said Kim was arrested around 3 a.m. and was booked at the Honolulu police station. The actor posted bail and was released at 5:05 a.m. Wearing a polo shirt and khaki shorts, Kim kept his head down and did not speak to reporters as he left the station and got into the passenger's seat of an awaiting silver SUV. Yikes! Are things so bad on the set of Lost that the actors are driven to drink ... and then drink and drive? One has to wonder who from the Lost cast will be picked up for drunk driving next :( [Source]

Well folks, here it is ... the long-awaited money shot of Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon doing more than just snuggling and holding hands. Here is the pic that everyone has been waiting for:

Er, well everyone but me :( The much balleyhooed Gyllenspoon romance is given more validity with the emergence of THESE pics of Jake and Reese kissing tenderly at LAX airport upon their arrival from Rome. As much as it pains me to see Jakey poo in the arms another person, I suppose I can't be too upset that he chose to be with Reese Witherspoon. Irregardless of whether or not this whole relationship is a scam to promote their new movie Rendition or if it's the real deal, Gyllenspoon do make a supercute couple. I'm happy about it ... I swear. [Source]

Britney Spears isn't the only Hollywood "It" Girl going around town with a minder in tow to make sure that she behaves ... Lindsay Lohan also has her own babysitter shadowing her around town to make sure that she stays on the straight and narrow. Here are a couple pics of L. Lo with her sobriety minder Jenni Muro:

Whatever they're paying this chick to keep an eye on Lindsay can't be enough ... but that said, she appears to have been doing a pretty successful job of keeping Lindsay's nose out of trubs thus far. L. Lo has exceeded my expectations since being released from rehab in that she has yet to show up at a single nightclub, party or event ... so far as we know. Us Weekly is reporting that Lindsay has agreed to host a New Year's Eve bash at LAX in Las Vegas to make up for her 21st birthday party at Pure nightclub that she skipped out on this past July ... because she had to go to rehab. Yeah, it looks like L. Lo's sobriety monitor has got her work cut out for her ... I just hope Linds is up to the task. [Source]

Now, I'm no expert on Royal protocol but is it really appropriate for a young lady to stand in the presence of a member of the Royal family clad mainly in feathers?

Yeah, it looks like Prince Charles has no problem with this breach of protocol. I just hope he doesn't get any ideas and decide to get one of these outfits for his blushing bride:

I don't know that the world would be quite ready for a sight like this. [Source]

Elsewhere in Britain, the Spices took a break from shooting their new music video for the song Headlines to film a couple of Xmas adverts for the Tesco's supermarket chain. The Girls gathered around a cozy table in a pose that looks eerily like another famous dinner party that y'all might recognize:

The time of the second coming of the Spice Girls is just about nigh ... are y'all ready? [Source]

Kylie Minogue is on top of the world these days ... she is also featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Q magazine ... take a look at the risque cover and beautiful inset:

KYLIE MINOGUE says she's not worried about turning 40 next year — and here's why. The pop princess looked sensational in a photoshoot for music mag Q, which recently gave her an "Idol" award. Kylie also launches her album X next month -- her first since beating breast cancer. And she said: "I'm not scared of turning 40. I think it’s going to be quite liberating. I’ve always heard that as a woman, 49 is when you really come into your own and I think it's happening." Aussie Kylie revealed that on one album track entitled No More Rain, she sings about a "second chance" in reference to her recovery. And she said the album took so long to make because of her cancer fight. She explained: "I didn't write through the treatment because you can't concentrate. I couldn't watch a whole film." Thankfully, those days are behind her and she can focus on moving forward with her life and her career. I have been dying to hear Kylie's new music for months now and the time is almost upon us. Wee! I can't wait :) [Source]

In more Minogue news, little sister Dannii is about to release some new music of her own. She is just about to re-release her albums Neon Nights and Girl in addition to a greatest hits album titled Unleashed AND a brand new single called Touch Me Like That. Here is our first look at the video for her new single:

I love it! Dannii has been putting out some great music as of late, her most successful songs being mash-ups with other songs (my fave being the single Don't Wanna Lose This Groove, a mash-up between her song Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling and Madonna's Into The Groove). Touch Me All Night uses the music from the 70's hit song You Make Me Feel Mighty Real by Sylvester. I love Dannii about as much as I love Kylie ... she makes really fun pop music just like her big sister. I really wish Dannii was releasing an entire album of new music but I'll take what I can get. [Source]

Here are a few outtake pics from an amazing photoshoot that Jennifer Lopez did for James White which he shot for Elle magazine:

It's unclear if J. Lo was sporting her now infamously suspicious stomach bump in these photos but she does look damn good. We are *still* awaiting official confirmation of her pregsness but I'm sure we'll be getting word any day now. [Source]

And finally, in one last bit of Jenny from the Blockness, here is the new promo ad for the latest in J. Lo's fragrance line (her 8th) which is set for a February 2008 release ... this one is called Deseo:

This latest fragrance is aimed at a more mature audience and will also be available in a male version by Fall of next year. I'm not sure if many men are really interested in smelling like Jennifer Lopez ... but it's gotta be better than smelling like Darc Anthony, no? [Source]

Les News:

OY! I a bit wrecked today. Even tho I got a few hours of sleep on the plane, it was restless and fitful. I have no idea how people are expected to get sound sleep in a seated position but I did my best. I had to sleep for a couple more hours upon my arrival and yet, I'm still feeling a bit wonky. Tonight, Sarah and I are meeting up with Erik and his boyfriend Steve for a nice dinner date. I didn't get to see Erik the last time I was in town so I'm looking forward to catching up with him.

Tomorrow will be a very exciting day. Not only are Sarah and I going to see Tori Amos live in concert for the first time together on this tour but Sarah will be interviewing Tori for the blog tomorrow afternoon. My man Abe from Epic Records set up some time for us to get to speak with Tori and I'm gonna have Sarah do the interview while I take photos. Needless to say, we are both very excited. I plan to upload the interview in MP3 format so y'all can hear it for yourselves.

And so ... I guess that is all. I'm gonna try and enjoy the drizzly, cold weather here in Detroit as best I can ... that is, after I take a little nap. Happy weekend, y'all. I'm out.
