Happy Housewarming Day!!!

First off ... sorry about the mishap with the splash page at pinkisthenewblog.com yesterday. There was a horrrrible misunderstanding that resulted my webhost suspending my account which killed the opening splash page. Make sure to bookmark trent.blogspot.com in case the splash page ever goes down again ... the blog will still be operational at Blogger.com. The problem has yet to be totally resolved but I'm workin' on it so hopefully things will be back to normal again soon. And so ... let's get to it ...

Sooooo another day, another hit and run for our dear Britney Spears. It has come to light that in the melee crush of all the paparazzi trying to get a very rare photo of Britney Spears exiting the courthouse last week she inadvertently (or on purposly?!?) ran over the foot of an innocent police officer who was trying to protect her from the aforementioned melee crush ... whoops!

Britney Spears drove over a Los Angeles County Sheriff deputy's foot when she left the courthouse at her last custody hearing! Drivin' properly is hard, y'all! TMZ has learned that an officer on duty at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in L.A. was trying to help Brit leave her custody hearing, when Brit rolled over her foot! The officer was one of the brave souls helping Brit maneuver through a crowd of photogs as she pulled out of the garage. In the video, broadcast live on TMZ on Oct. 26, you can hear an officer yelling at Spears to "Make a left, make a LEFT!" -- but the Pumpkinmobile ding-danger went right! Sources tell TMZ that the victim has no broken bones but is hobbling around the courthouse on crutches and has been reassigned to light duty. And, as if that weren't bad enough, it now turns out that Brit Brit is now being investigated by the LAPD for this little incident: Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the LAPD is conducting an investigation into a traffic mishap Friday, when Britney Spears ran over an L.A. County Sheriff deputy's foot. We're told the "traffic collision complaint" was filed by the Sheriff's Department and the LAPD is conducting an "active investigation." We're told the LAPD is looking at the possibility of hit and run ... The LAPD tells TMZ "The LAPD is aware that Britney Spears was leaving the courthouse. We are also aware that a deputy was injured. The LAPD is unable to confirm the details on the deputy's injury because the investigation is in its initial stage." You know, there will come a day, very soon, when there will be no people left in Hollywood that Britney Spears hasn't run over with her car. I can't wait until it's my turn to get hit :) [Source, Source]

Sarah Michelle Gellar, The Rock, Malcolm McDowell and others were on hand at the AFI Fest 2007 presentation of SMG's new movie Southland Tales which is finally getting released. Here are a few pics from the arrivals:

I am so happy that this movie is finally being released. It's been a long time since we've seen SMG in a big screen movie that, you know, didn't suck (I am, of course, referring to The Return -- ick!). I'm not a big fan of smellin' what The Rock is cookin' but I'm willing to overlook that little fact in order to check out this movie. Woot! [Source]

Rapper T-Pain was arrested in Florida earlier this week after an overly-suspicious police officer noticed that he was driving and then decided to run his driving record and then discovered that he had a suspended license and issued a warrant for his arrest. T-Pain did the right thing and turned himself in the next morning ... but, unfortch, homie had to get booked anyway:

According to the Tallahassee, Fla. Police Department, the rapper was in town to perform at an event in June when cops saw the rapper driving. After running his record, it was discovered that he had a suspended license, so they issued a warrant for his arrest. He turned himself to the Leon County Jail this morning.

In response to this arrest, T-Pain's record label issued the following statement:

T-Pain was given a few traffic tickets several years ago for minor infractions (speeding ticket, running a stop sign, failure to pay etc.). These were mistakes that Pain made as a young man that just received his driver's license. He did not have the money nor the knowledge at the time to take care of them. The "arrest" this morning was him voluntarily turning himself in. It was scheduled with our local attorney and coordinated with the jail. There was no bail and he was released on his own recognizance within a few hours. He is in transit to his show tonight at the University of South Florida in Tampa and will not miss any scheduled engagements.

You know, with a celeb who sings lyrics like, Ooooh she made us drinks to drink, we drunk 'em - got drunk you'd expect they'd get arrested for DUI (like almost everyone else in Hollywood) but this unfortunate incident is understandable. I'm more concerned with the fact that the cop decided to run his record just because he was driving. Doesn't that sound ... shady? [Source]

Oh no! Something must've gotten Jake Gyllenhaal's panties in a twist because the normally docile Jakey poo decided to go apeshizz on a photog who decided to get a little too close to take a picture -- meow!

Jake's a good boy ... so I don't think that this sort of behavior will become the norm. Either he was just having a pissy day or the photog did something to get him all riled up. In either case, I don't like angry Jake ... I much prefer hot and sexy, happy Jake ... wearing as little clothing as possible :) [Source]

The amazing Broadway musical Wicked made a little cameo on this week's episode of Ugly Betty which is set in NYC but filmed in LA. The producers decided to use the LA cast of Wicked to stand in for the Broadway cast that is in NYC since the characters in Ugly Betty live in NYC and went out to see the show on Broadway. Anyways ... here are a few caps from this week's ep:

Sadly, I've yet to watch this ep in full because I was seeing Tori Amos while Ugly Betty aired this week but I have it saved on my DVR at home so I can't wait to check it out. I am so glad that Eden Espinosa and Megan Hilty were featured on this show ... they are both amazing theater actresses they deserve to be showcased as much as possible. Hmm ... I might have to go to another performance of Wicked once I get back to LA :) [Source, thanks Cori]

Michael Jackson slyly sneaked back into the US last week to do a photoshoot and interview with Ebony magazine (on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the release of his hugely successful album Thriller) and here is our first look at how a couple of those pics turned out:

I can't lie ... the man weirds me out. But, I will say one thing ... he is consistent. For what they're worth, these pics look pretty good ... er, well, they look pretty good for MJ pics so there you go. I understand that the soon-to-be released 25th anniversary edition of Thriller will include a few extra unreleased songs. Jacko fans rejoice! [Source via Source]

Johnny Depp. all dolled up in his Sweeney Todd garb, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the Holiday Movie Preview of Entertainment Weekly ... here are a few pics:

In case you couldn't tell, Sweeney Todd is only the latest movie project that Johnny worked on with director Tim Burton. While I'm not all that familiar with the Sweeney Todd musical (my only experience with the show comes from the references used in the mildly entertaining Ben Affleck movie Jersey Girl) I am intrigued to check it out in movie form. I'm a fan of the Depp/Burton collabos (even if they are all styled in the same manner) so this is a movie I deffo plan to check out. [Source]

SNL's Amy Poehler, her hubby Will Arnett and The Office's John Krasinski are among the celebs selected by Gap for their annual holiday ad campaign ... here is a preview:

Despite the fact that they all appear to be wearing the same face, I think these ads are cute. Gap always manages to pick the best folks to appear in their ads (previously they worked with Liz Phair and Rufus Wainwright among others) so I approve of this new campaign so far. PS: I think I like Will's scarf ... is that wrong? [Source via Source]

The Spice Girls have finally unveiled the video for their long-awaited comeback single Headlines in a worldwide online exclusive:

And so, without further ado, here is the vid that will officially kick off the Spice Girls reunion:

Now, I swear that I am *not* trying to be a hater ... but ... this video is really lackluster. Firstly, I don't really care for the song. Not only is it a cheesy pop ballad but it's not even a good cheesy pop ballad. The video has a lot of posing ... and that's about it. Color me totes unimpressed. I believe that this song is the only new song recorded by the reunited Spices ... a huge misstep I think. If they're hinging their comeback reunion on this song and video then it's prolly better off if we just remember them the way they used to be. I liked them because they were fun ... this vid makes them appear antiquated. Poop sandwich!! [Source]

And finally it's time for this week's batch of photos sent in by Pink is the new Blog readers -- Shelley from Boston, MA sends in a pic where she was able to pose with the 2004 and the 2007 World Series trophies that belong to the Boston Red Sox -- Raha sends in a pic of the Class of 2008 from Albany High School proudly wearing their Homecoming color during their Homecoming Week -- Leslie from Oklahoma City, OK sends in a pic of her daughter Peri celebrating her 1st birthday -- Samantha from Orlando, FL sends in a pic from her daughter Jade's 14th birthday celebration -- Amanda sends in a pic from her co-worker's PITNB-inspired office birthday party:

Thank you all, again, for the amazing pics. And because I received SOOO many photo submissions of Pink readers in their Halloween costumes, here is another batch to check out -- Ashley, who I've decided had THE BEST COSTUME OF THE YEAR, dressed up as Pink is the new Blog -- Gina sends in a pic of Carpenter dressed up as Baby Tim Gunn from Project Runway -- Leila dressed up as Jem (sans The Hologrmas) -- Nancy and hubby Dave dressed up as Brett Michaels and Heather from Rock of Love -- Ashley and friend dressed up as Nic/Joel -- Beth and Chelle were lookin' really supercute in Taylor, MI this Halloween -- Annette sends in supercute pics of Calvin as a Bee, Matthew as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Travis as Yoda:

I really love every picture that was sent to me. Despite not being able to post every single pic submitted, I want to thank you all for taking the time and sending the lurve. I heart you all :) xoxo

Les News:
Blah ... I spent much of yesterday afternoon on the phone trying to get a handle on my webhost probs but David and I did manage to make some time to shop for Sarah and Mark's housewarming gift. We shopped around at Somerset Collection (and I got to meet Pink reader Stacy at Nordstrom’s) before heading over to the Living Room in Berkley for pizza and martinis. We decided to spend another night in so we had a great time and I'll leave it at that :)

Tonight is Sarah and Mark's mega Housewarming party ... so I'm not sure what tomorrow's post will be like. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get totally jacked up at the party so I have no idea what condition I'm gonna be in tomorrow. I'll deff be posting tomorrow but it may come late in the day and it may consist of party pics only. I rarely make exceptions on blog posts like this but this is a very special occasion. I will be back on Monday with a return to the usual daily goss. Hopefully the splash page will be totally operational by then ... but if not, you can always find the blog at trent.blogspot.com Have a great weekend! I'm ouuuuut!
