Team Spears In Control ... Finally!

Round One in the battle for control of Britney Spears has been won by her parents, led by her father Jamie Spears. Team Spears went to court yesterday to petition the court to grant them legal control over Britney's affairs and assets ... and the court ruled in their favor ... much to Britney's manager/BFF Sam Lutfi's dismay. In fact, the court even went so far as to place a restraining order on Mr. Lutfi so that he will not be allowed to go anywhere near our dear Britney Spears. There has been a lot of, in my personal opinion, action going on in Britney's life since her parents came to town to offer their help ... and I honestly think that it's all for the best in the long run:

Britney Spears's father is taking control. Jamie Spears, accompanied by ex-wife Lynne, was granted temporary legal control over their daughter in an emergency court hearing Friday – a move that gives her dad new power over her hospital visitors and could keep her close pal Sam Lutfi at bay. Commissioner Reva Goetz stated that she found Jamie's petition for conservatorship to be in the singer's "best interest," and that Jamie was a "suitable and qualified person." The court also granted Jamie the authority to "prosecute any civil harassment restraining orders." Court rep Allan Parachini confirmed "there was a civil harassment restraining order issued against Sam Lutfi, but the specifics of that order are unknown." The status of the restraining order will be heard in court on Feb. 22, he said. The powers granted to Jamie Spears, which last until a Monday hearing, allow him to restrict and limit visitors to his daughter (who remains hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center), as well as to employ security guards to protect her. Jamie Spears also gets access to Spears's medical records, and he can communicate with her doctors, Commissioner Goetz said in court. (However, legal experts say her father will have no authority regarding her psychiatric treatment for now.) Goetz also allowed temporary control over Spears's finances, in addition to securing her residence, changing its locks, and vacating any people living there. Jamie and Lynne Spears, who appeared solemn throughout the hearing, seemed relieved by the ruling. The former couple left the courtroom without commenting to reporters.

Additionally:

The judge in the hearing today has issued a restraining order against Sam Lutfi -- ordering him to stay away from Britney Spears. The judge found that Lutfi has been harassing Britney. Thus the civil harassment restraining order. This will effectively bar Lutfi from going to the hospital. The restraining order is in effect for 22 days, but court observer and uber-attorney Goldie Schon tells TMZ that Brit's folks could turn it into a permanent order at the end of those 22 days.

I, personally, think this is amazing news. It is key that all of these toxic people be expunged from Britney's life and getting rid of Osama Sam Lutfi is a great first step. Despite what people tend to think about Britney's parents (based largely on rumor and speculation), I really believe they are the ones who have her best interests at heart. The fact that Lutfi is speaking out publically to anyone that will listen that he is opposed to their interjection in Britney's life just goes to show how important it is that THEY ARE interjected into her life:

Britney Spears' pal Sam Lutfi says the singer's mental problems stem from her parents, Lynne and Jamie. "Oh boy, her family is crazy!" Lutfi told Usmagazine.com in a telephone interview Thursday, the same day the singer was taken to UCLA Medical Center. On Friday, Spears' parents hit L.A. Superior Court to seek to control their daughter's medical treatments. "It's funny because that's what the doctors say when they meet the family," he added. "They always come back and say, 'You know, [her problems] are inherited, right?' It's just so sad. It's shared equally from both of her parents." He told Us the singer doesn't "trust anything that her family says? Not a goddamn thing." He said they have tried to stage multiple interventions and that Thursday's move was "at least their fourth" attempt ... "They show up to the house like hillbillies, texting me," Lutfi continued. "I find out that they're outside, and they go, 'You better let me in the gate, you ass.' So I go, to Britney, 'Your parents are here, let them come in and yell at you and scream at you. If anything else goes on, I'll throw you in my car and take you out of here.' She said, 'OK, fine, baby.' I let them in. Instead of going to see how Britney is, they come bouncing through the doors. They scream at me, 'Why the fuck are you talking to Barbara Walters?' I swear to God that's all they were saying. The dad pushed me in the chest and said, 'Get the fuck out of here.' The dad gave up and then the mom tried to talk to her, but Lynne was like, 'I gotta get my beauty sleep, I gotta get my nails done, I gotta do my hair.' It was just so sick. We made the mom stay." ... He said he has told the singer, "'Britney, do you see why people think you are crazy? Look at your mother and look at your father.'"

I'm even more convinced that Osama Lutfi is a vile piece of garbage who is desperate to keep his claws in Britney because he knows that if her family really can keep him away, she might actually get well enough to realize what a piece of exploitive trash he really is. Despite the fact that Britney is having a hard time adjusting to her surroundings in the hospital, there does appear to be positive movement in her favor:

The good folks over at UCLA are detoxing Britney Spears to rid her system of all the incorrect meds she's been taking. The doctors say she had been misdiagnosed with ADD and been prescribed Adderall, which is the equivalent to taking amphetamines. Page Six reports: Detox is especially helpful in cases where the patient may have been misdiagnosed and administered medication that might have exacerbated or altered the person's symptoms. So in laymen’s terms, Britney’s ADD med was making her a raving lunatic.

There are new reports today that her 72-hour commitment has been extended to last for at least 14 days. I am just so happy that her family has finally stepped in and taken charge of her life ... this sort of intervention should've happened a long time ago ... and it prolly would have had it not been for Lutfi's interference ... and the interference of other folks in her life who are happy to keep her mentally unstable so that they can further exploit her. There is finally light at the end of the tunnel, I think. [Source]

Alright ... moving on ... despite rampant and erroneous rumors that Jennifer Lopez "is in labor right now in a Long Island hospital" which have been circulating for over a week now, here are new photos of the mom-to-be out for a little shopping excursion this week picking up a few things ... which clearly prove that she is not and has not been "in labor":

The way I understand it, J. Lo has scheduled a c-section date weeks ago ... so any guesses about her "being in labor" cannot be true. We'll just have to wait for the announcement that she has given birth to her baby (babies? it still hasn't been officially confirmed whether or not she's having twins) on the date that has been scheduled. In break-up news ... could the long-awaited reunion of the Spice Girls be over already? There is a new report that Mel C. has tired of her Spice friends and wants to quit ... and then there is another report that Mel B. is another one who wants out. In the end, it has been decided that Les Spices will end their Reunion Tour at the end of this month ... which means that folks in South Africa, China, Japan and Australia will not be seeing this show:

THE SPICE GIRLS have split up again -- after MEL C told them she has had enough. The band have now pulled plans to take their reunion tour to Australia, China, South Africa and Argentina - and will play their final gig in Canada later this month. Mel C had been locked in talks with bandmates VICTORIA BECKHAM, GERI HALLIWELL, EMMA BUNTON and MEL B over the band's future. But Sporty Spice does not want to continue so the girls have decided to call it a day. Last night a Spice source revealed: "Geri and Victoria have been loving the attention and adulation the tour has been bringing the girls in the UK and North America. Mel B has really enjoyed being on stage and performing again. And Emma has found it hard with a young son but was prepared to carry on. But Mel C is the one who always insisted the reunion should be only short-term. Now she wants to go back to doing her own thing. Because they couldn't all agree, the extra tour dates have been pulled. Touring has been harder on all the girls this time round. But all of them could have been persuaded to continue - apart from Mel C." The band yesterday announced their gig in Toronto on February 26 will be their last. Their statement added: "Sadly the tour needs to come to an end by the end of February due to family and personal commitments for Emma, Geri, Mel B, Mel C and Victoria. It was announced in June that, as well as the Europe and North America dates, the girls planned to visit Australia, China, South Africa and Argentina. But due to the phenomenal demand for tickets in the UK and US, and the tour’s massive logistics, it was impossible to fit in everything ... It's been incredible being back together and seeing our fans again. Really sorry if we didn’t get to see you this time round. We have other commitments in our lives now. But who knows what will happen next?"

But, apparently it's not just Mel C. who's fed up ... Mel B. wants out, too:

After they were presented with a new tour schedule the friend said to the Daily Mirror: "Mel B wasn't having any of it. She misses her husband and children and said she couldn't go on. She's also been flooded with US offers after her success on Dancing With Stars. Mel C agreed it was time to call it a day. She was the least excited about it. She also feared it might jeopardise her solo career."

And that, folks, is that. The Spice Girls have a lot of gigs lined up for the rest of this month so if they are coming to your town (I know they play Detroit in a couple of weeks) enjoy them while you still can. Methinks that this may be the last time we'll get to see them all together on stage ... ever again. [Source, Source]

In other tour news, Hilary Duff has taken her show down under to OZ ... here are a few pics of Hilary's arrival this week ... and a few pics of her on stage in Australia -- the last two pics were sent in by Pink reader Rachie who was at Hilary's Dignity Tour in Brisbane, Australia on Thursday night:

Hilary looks great in these pics ... I'm sure the Aussies will show her a good time. At least Hil D. hasn't abandoned the land down unda like the Spice Girls has ;) [Source, Source, thanks Rachie]

Hahhhahaha ... yesterday, I posted a newslink about how 50 Cent (well, his crew, actually) made Paris Hilton cry at her own party after she was not allowed to get up on stage with him to dance ... today, we get to see the incident as it unfolded in pictures:

During his performance at the Paris Hilton-hosted pre-Super Bowl party for 944 magazine last night, 50 Cent gave a shout out to Paris, who then started singing in the front row. Paris and 50 are good friends. When the princess decided to get onstage and dance, the hip-hopper's crew and stagehands quickly instructed her to "Get the fuck off the stage." She started to cry and tried to plead with the party's production staff to let her dance, whining, "But it's my party!" Her entourage swarmed the fotogs so they couldn't document the embarrassing belittlement but PageSix.com was there. For the record Paris and 50 are still good friends. Earlier in the evening Paris was in good spirits, telling us that while she's "rooting for both teams" and is a football fan because "my grandfather used to own the Chargers," she won't be watching Sunday's big game. "Um... I'll TiVo it," she claimed.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL! This is the best thing I've heard all day. It must be so hard being Paris Hilton. [Source]

Here are a couple pictures of hottie Ryan Phillippe doing a bit of snowboarding:

It's been a while since Ryan graced the blog with his hawtness so I thought it was about time. It's too bad he had to go snowboarding with all those clothes on. [Source]

Yesterday, we got our first look at some nekkid pics of Alfie Allen on stage during his debut performance in Equus in the UK this week ... today, we have a few more pics to gawk at:

Click above to see larger, uncensored NSFW images

Again, I commend the lad for having the, ahem, balls to get up on stage night after night and put on a show completely in the nude. It can't be an easy role to take on. I just hope that we, one day, will be able to see what kind of balls that Daniel Radcliffe has when he reprises his Equus role on Broadway later on this year ;) [Source]

Madonna has posted a video message online to all of the members of her ICON fanclub which has just undergone a huge overhaul/facelift. The message is very cute ... in it, Madge reveals that she has gone goth:

Hee hee ... the vidclip is cute. I have been an ICON member for some time now and I think it's absolutely worth signing up for. I'm sure with her new album on the way, ICON members will be treated with a whole slew of exclusive info over the coming weeks and months. [Source]

Paramount Studios has released a new HQ video clip from the movie Cloverfield which gives a very clear look at what the monster looks like face-on and close-up. If you've not see the movie yet, I'd recommend that you hold off on seeing what it looks like until you see the movie:

If you have seen the movie, then click away and check it out. It's creepy ... and I love it!!! [Source]

Les News:
Last night was David's last full night here in LA so we went out for an amazing sushi dinner at Katsu-Ya in Studio City, CA before we made the trek out to Marina Del Rey to help Kirsten celebrate her birthday. Here are a slew of photos from last night's fun:

Kirsten got a love of lurve and attention from the boys last night ... she got a lot of attention from my boyfriend, actually, but it's all good -- I don't mind sharing. We had a great time together and I think Kiki had a great time last night. She had to ... we kept pouring drinks down her throat all night long :)

David flies back to NYC in a few hours so I have to get going ... we did end up sleeping late today ... and I'm so not sorry that we did ;)

Happy Saturday ... I'm out.
