Wrestle Mania

:: sigh ::

I don't know what else to say ... the quiet respite I thought that we'd get to enjoy while Britney Spears spent some time getting medical treatment in a psychiatric facility was completely washed away in one fell swoop yesterday afternoon once news broke that Britney was released from the UCLA Medical Center after it was determined that the hospital could find "no cause" to keep her under their care. Once freed, Britney made a bee line for the Beverly Hills Hotel where she rejoined the paparazzi she seems to love so much ... including reuniting with her fave paparazzi du jour, Adnan Ghalib. OK! magazine provides a practically minute-by-minute account of Britney's actions since her release from the hospital yesterday (up until about 9:30PM PT last night). Britney's parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, reveal that they are completely frustrated already ... and have issued a statement explaining their feelings on this latest development:

Around 4:40 p.m. PT, a little over an hour after Britney Spears and her caravan of paparazzi pulled into the Beverly Hills Hotel, the troubled singer's boyfriend, photographer Adnan Ghalib, was spotted arriving at the posh palace in his Mercedes convertible and being rushed up to Britney's room by security guards. Adnan's arrival puts to rest, for the moment at least, rumors that Brit was planning on meeting her "friend" Sam Lutfi at the hotel. Last Friday, a restraining order was issued against Sam, who claims to control all aspects of Britney's life, forbidding him from having any contact with the singer.

At 4:47 p.m. PT, six LAPD officers arrived at the hotel. According to sources, the police are awaiting the arrival of Britney's parents with the intention of taking the pop star back to the hospital.

At 5:05 p.m. PT, an LAPD officer confirmed to OK! that Britney was secreted out of the Beverly Hills Hotel in Adnan's car. While there is much speculation that she will be returning to the hospital tonight, the police would neither confirm nor deny this rumor. Minutes later, the pair were spotted driving along Santa Monica Blvd.

Around 5:20, Britney and Adnan arrived at a office building on Santa Monica Blvd. Adam Streisand, the lawyer who Brit tried to hire over the weekend, has an office in that building and it's believed that's where the pair are now.

Sources tell OK! that sometime around 7:00pm PT, Britney managed to sneak out of Streisand's office building and return to the Beverly Hills Hotel! According to the source, a paparazzo from Adnan's former agency FinalPixx snuck them out of the building by hiding Adnan and Brit under a black blanket in the back of his car. Back at the Beverly Hills Hotel, several of the police who were there earlier remain on the grounds as do a number of bodyguards who are keeping watch in the hotel's parking garage.

Shortly before 9:00pm PT, Brit's father Jamie Spears arrived at the Beverly Hills Hotel. According to eyewitnesses, Jamie has talked to the hotel's concierge and is currently waiting in the lobby. "He looks very tired," one witness tells OK!. "It looks like he just wants someone to help him out." A few minutes later, Jamie was approached by the concierge and a pair of men who may have been plainclothes police officers or hotel security officials, who led him to a private conference room, where Brit's father showed them what appear to be legal documents. Sources are telling OK! that Jamie is likely asking for the hotel's cooperation in getting his daughter back to her home.

Around 9:20pm PT, more police arrived at the Beverly Hills Hotel and begin gathering in the lobby, outside in the valet parking area and upstairs on the second floor of the hotel, where sources tell OK! Britney and Adnan are currently holed up.

At 9:30pm PT, Jamie Spears entered Britney's room with what is believed to be legal documents in his hand. Meanwhile, down in the hotel's private parking garage, a number of hotel guards are keeping watch on Brit's Mercedes.

I guess I don't understand how these are the actions of a woman who has been determined to be of sound mind. Of course, Britney's parents, the conservators of her person and assets, aren't happy with Britney's release from the hospital yesterday. They have released the following statement on this matter:

As parents of an adult child in the throes of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe. We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted.

It's all so sad. Britney's parents have just cause to fear for their daughter's life. They must feel so helpless right now. It's clear that any positive movement to take place on Britney's behalf is going to take a lot of patience on her parent's part and a lot of head-butting for some time to come. It just seems like she is acting out like an angry child ... I can't imagine that it is easy to deal with an on-going struggle like this. [Source, Source]

ATTENTION: PROJECT RUNWAY SPOILER ALERT WARNING

How fun was last night's challenge on Project Runway? While I question the idea that designing wrestling wear has anything to do with fashion, I think the challenge was a fun one none-the-less. Much like raucous cheers that sprung up across the land last week when Victorya got Auf'ed, so too could the jubilant cry of Project Runway fans far and wide when Ricky became the latest designer to get axed from the show. You know, I bet Ricky would've had a lot more people in his corner had he not annoyed us all to tears (as ironic as that sounds) with all of his insipid crying (and Victorya would've had her own fans had she toned down her snootyness a smidge). The competition is getting whittled down to the final 3 contestants (or 4, like last season?) and I fear that my dear Sweet P may find herself in trouble next week ... but oooooh, is it getting good now:

As if it wasn't clear enough, I really enjoyed last night's ep of Project Runway. I felt the challenge was a very inventive one ... at least, it wasn't like anything else they've done before. Did anyone notice how beyotchy Christian became last night (and it looks like he gets even bitchier next week)? I mean, more so than usual. He had his claws out and was happy to talk shizz about anyone and everyone. You kinda want to slap him AND hug him all at the same time. I must say, the boy is talented as hell. His costume was super awesome and you just know that he was SURE he was going to win. I love the name for his WWE Diva Wrestler -- Ferocia Coutura. Now that shizz is fierce, for reals. I really, really loved his outfit ... but I kinda agree with the judges that Chris's outfit was the best (actually, I would've chosen Jillian's outfit as the winner but I liked Chris's as well). His design had all the elements of a really great superhero costume. I did shudder a bit when he remarked that he wished he could wear the outfit that he designed ... I just don't know that the world would be able to take something like that. And is it me or did Tim Gunn just really queen out last night. I thought he was going to have a heart attack over critiquing Sweet P's outfit. And to be honest, I think he actually got verklempt on camera. I think being close to all those aggressive women really threw him off track ... he seemed pretty unsettled for the entire ep. The poor dear. Over all, I think the costumes didn't look all that bad ... there was a lot of talk about "too tacky" but c'mon ... these are wrestling outfits. That being said, Rami's was really the worst. I get that Ricky had to go home but as bad as his bathing suit was ... I think Rami's was worst. I can't believe he did the color Pink so wrong. I almost burst into tears when Nina Garcia was forced to comment that she hated the color ... I mean, really! I have to blame Rami. You could see it on Ricky's face ... he knew he was going home when Rami made the cut. And, for once, I was expecting the boy to cry his little eyes out like he did in every.single.previous.episode of the season and ... nothing. WTF? Actually, I kinda thought Christian was gonna be the one to cry as well ... he was PISSSSED that he lost this challenge. It is my contention that Christian will be one of the final contestants to show at Bryant Park for the finale ... and I fear that he might go absolutely apeshizz if he doesn't win. I'm sure it'll make for an interesting showdown. I think there are only about 3 more eps left before the finale ... I can't wait to see how it all will end. [Source]

Her Madgesty herself, Madonna, has made her way to NYC for Fashion Week where she was the hostess of honor at the United Nations complex for a Gucci event last night that called A Night to Benefit Raising Malawi and UNICEF. Here are a few pics of Madonna and her daughter Lourdes Ciccone Leon lookin' all faboo on the red carpet:

Pop star Madonna hosted a celebrity-studded event on Wednesday on the lawns of the United Nations to aid Malawi orphans, the U.N. Children's Fund (UNICEF) and -- controversially -- to inaugurate a new Gucci store. Actors Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow and a heavily pregnant Jennifer Lopez were among many stars at the dinner that Gucci Chief Executive Mark Lee said has already raised $3.7 million. But critics have objected to the use of the U.N. grounds to kick off a Gucci store opening and raised concerns about ties between Madonna's charity Raising Malawi and The Kabbalah Centre, a body devoted to a mystical form of Judaism followed by the pop star. The accusations, made mainly by bloggers, appear to stem from the fact that Raising Malawi's founder Michael Berg is also co-director of The Kabbalah Centre. "I don't really pay any attention to that. I am grateful that Gucci has underwritten this event -- that's all that matters to me -- their generosity. There's always controversy surrounding anything that involves change," Madonna told Reuters. "I want to put Raising Malawi on the map. I want credibility as a philanthropic organization. I want to inspire people. I don't want them to just write me a check: I want them to give me a piece of their heart," she said. Philippe van den Bossche, executive director of Raising Malawi, said it was "absolutely not true" that any money raised would benefit Kabbalah. He said the organization was a nonprofit, registered, nonsectarian organization intended to provide support for orphans and vulnerable children in Malawi.

On the one hand, I can see how the relationship between The Kabbalah Centre and Raising Malawi (by way of Michael Berg) could raise eyebrows and concerns but I personally find it really hard to believe that Madonna could be bothered to go this far just to raise money for her religious organization. It seems to me that if she wanted to raise money for Kabbalah, then she would raise money for Kabbalah. Clearly the plight of children in Malawi really impacts her, considering her adopted son is from there, so I have no problem believing that this event really was orchestrated to raise money for Raising Malawi. And all the controversy aside, how amazing does Madge look in these pics. You can tell by the way she is beaming that she has been anxiously awaiting the time when her daughter would be old enough to go to these sorts of events with her. I can see Madonna and Lola hitting up many more of these sorts of events together ... even more so as Lola gets older. It sounds like it was an amazing party ... pretty much anyone who is anyone was there ...

It's very clear that when Madonna throws a party, everyone on Earth wants to be there. Hahahahaha ... even the pregs celebs put off giving birth so that they can party with Madonna ... [Source]

... including the very still pregs Jennifer Lopez. As you can see in the following photos, J. Lo has not given birth yet and is active and mobile enough to still go out on the town. Here are a few pics of J. Lo making the rounds at Fashion Week this week:

She makes a really beautiful pregnant woman. I bet she can't wait until her babies are born. Something tells me, tho, that she's gonna hold off on having her c-section birth until all of the Fashion Week fun is dunzo. [Source]

Elsewhere at Fashion Week, Ryan Adams was spotted taking in the festivities at the G-Star Fashion Show ... and homie was lookin' finger lickin' good in his cute little outfit homage to Kentucky Fried Chicken's late founder Colonel Sanders:

I just love how adorable and deranged all at the same time Ryan Adams looks sometimes. He would make a really charming serial killer if he weren't such a masterful musician. [Source]

Kylie Minogue was all smiles and all FABULOSITY last night as she showed up to accept Germany's most prestigious business award, the Golden Camera. Yeah, I don't get it either ... I just know that Kyles looked hawt as she accepted, yet, another award:

I just love this look on Kylie. Her hair looks great, her dress looks great ... she gets an A+++ from me. And honestly, that's got to count for more than any old Golden Camera paper weight. [Source]

Ryan Phillippe has been spending a lot of time lately working on his fitness in order to amp up his arms as much as he can ... in addition to pumping iron at the gym, Ryan has also been pumping gas at his local petrol station:

Seriously, the man looks hot no matter what he's doing. He could be doing the most mundane, boring things ever and he'll still bring the hotness ... as long as he's wearing as little clothing as possible. Yummo!! [Source]

Could it be that the not-so-secret love affair between Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Honsou has finally moved on to the next level? The couple were spotted at a couple of Fashion Week events this week each wearing matching rings on their left hands:

Perhaps we'll be hearing wedding bells soon. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Kimora's latest hubby, Russell Simmons, ended up being the flower girl at their nuptials. [Source]

Lest you think that everyone on this planet is a fan of the fairytale love affair between Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia, think again. Hayden's one-time Heroes co-star and current Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Thomas Dekker has a few choice words about the celeb couple we've come to know as HaLo. The bottom line is that he is not a fan of the love that they share:

While the rest of the Heroes cast may claim they're over the moon that Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia are dating, at least one person recognizes that the couple's 12-year age difference is a little strange. "I think it's gross, to be perfectly honest," Thomas Dekker -- who played Claire's best friend, Zach during season one of Heroes -- tells Life & Style magazine. "It's kind of like if I were dating a 12-year-old," the 20-year-old adds. Not content with just calling the coupling "gross," the Sarah Connor Chronicles star also says that he can't even comprehend how the co-stars make it work. "I'm definitely surprised they're together. For me, it would be a struggle to be with someone in such a different age range," he says.

Hahahahahaha ... it's interesting that Thomas Dekker would be so vocal about his disapproval over this relationship. Something about his comments, if they actually are his comments, smell a bit of jealousy ... except, I'm not entirely sure who he's jealous of. He should lighten up ... I can't really understand how anything that even remotely involves Milo Ventimiglia could be gross. [Source]

Ruh-ro! Could it be that there is something amiss in the romance between Lance Bass and his latest flame Ben Thigpen? Well, according to Star magazine the couple, who they report are mere seconds away from living together after their short courtship, is "on the rocks":

Lance Bass is in deep water with his hairstylist beau, Ben Thigpen. On Jan. 27, the day before they were to fly to L.A. and move in together, the two had a huge fight. Sources tell Star that furious Ben stayed in New York because during a brief mini vacation to Miami Beach, Lance locked lips with another guy at a bar — right in front of Ben! But friends predict the men will kiss and make up. "Lance has been phoning Ben a lot, hoping that he will forgive him," says a source.

Hmmm ... I don't know that I really believe this report ... after all, a quick check at Lance Bass's My Space profile reveals that he still lists himself as "in a relationship" and Ben Thigpen's Facebook profile reveals that he lists his status as "married". C'mon, y'all ... everyone knows that people these days update their social networking profiles IMMEDIATELY when something like a break-up occurs. I contend the lovebirds are still in happyland together. [Source]

Fergie Ferg has been named the new face of MAC Cosmetics' Viva Glam campaign ... which I have redubbed Viva G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S:

The newest face of MAC's Viva Glam campaign is no stranger to glamour. Fergie, the singer of Glamorous, has teamed up with the cosmetics company as the newest spokeswoman for the campaign that began in 1994 and has raised more than $100 million for HIV/AIDS. Fergie joins spokeswomen Dita Von Teese and Eve. "I've been a fan of the campaign since the early days, and I remembered when RuPaul did it," she says. "They pick controversial people who aren't afraid to speak their mind, and that's definitely me." Fergie, 32, looks forward to educating the teens and young adults who make up a large part of her fan base. "They're going toward one demographic, and I think I can be very helpful with that. I know certain people who are very proud of having unprotected sex and the fact that they haven't caught anything yet." Her duties have included helping choose the pink-tinged mauve shade for a special-edition lip color. Fergie is the first spokeswoman in the campaign to have a lip gloss that will raise money for a specific demographic.

You know, if it takes picking out the perfect shade of "pink-tinged mauve" for a tube of lipstick to educate kids of the dangers of having unprotected sex then I say, Good on you, Fergie! Oh and it must be said that ther Fergilicious one does look pretty hawt in this new photo. [Source]

Lindsay Lohan is featured on the cover and in the pages of the UK fashion magazine Glamour ... check it out:

The pics are really cute ... I like the whole devil motif ... it's a nice look for Lindsay. It's really great to have her back on the scene again. [Source]

Here are a few pics of Sarah Michelle Gellar from her photoshoot for the new issue of h magazine:

She, too, looks amazing in these pic. Honestly, it's hard for SMG to ever look bad in my opinion. SMG does high fashion shoots really well ... [Source]

And finally, here is a picture of all of the 80th Annual Academy Award Nominees all together which was taken at the Nominees' Luncheon in Beverly Hills earlier this week:

Hee hee ... they're all smiling now but in a few short weeks, more than half of them will be branded losers ... but hey, that's show biz. Hurray for Hollywood! [Source]

Sorry, y'all ... no newslinks today but you can finds some of the hotness at these blogs, too:

And soooo ... that is all for me for today. I'm mere moments from boarding a plane bound for NYC to be with my boo. As I mentioned yesterday, I'm not sure what, if anything, I'll be able to post tomorrow. I have a thing to be at early tomorrow morning and I'm not sure how long it'll last. My friend Diana is coming up from Washington DC to spend a few days with David and me in the city so I might not get to post anything of substance until Saturday. But, as I also mentioned, the thing on Friday is a DOOZE.

I'll post as much as I can but expect a full update with as many deets as possible on Saturday. Have a great day ... I'm out!!!
