I Want To Be A Part Of It ...

Wait a damn minute ... wait a daaaamn minute ... Kristin Cavallari and Nick Lachey are spending time together?! I heard that Kristin and Nick had a dinner together recently and I suppose it could be totally innocent (you know, 2 people show up at the same restaurant at the same time and end up having dinner together) but these days you can never be too sure about the "innocence of Hollywood":

"Newlyweds" hubby Nick Lachey is hooking up with "Laguna Beach" babe Kristin Cavallari. The swingin' single ex of Jessica Simpson introduced his mother to bubbly blonde Cavallari last week over dinner at Palomino in Westwood, Calif., tattles an eatery insider ... But Cavallari is playing it cool: When she arrived at Koi in L.A. the other night and saw Lachey and a group of buddies having dinner, she beat a hasty exit to meet some girlfriends for drinks at the Four Seasons hotel. OH.MY.GOD. I love it ... you have no idea how much I hope this little romance turns out to be true. This match-up would RULE! Loves it! [Source]

Charlize Theron teamed up with Vanity Fair magazine to throw the Amped For Africa event to benefit impoverished South African children and their families ... here are a few pictures of hostess Charlize:

Born and raised in South Africa herself, the plight of vulnerable children in her home country is a cause that's close to Charlize's heart. That's why she hosted "Vanity Fair's Amped for Africa" event to celebrate the new Charlize Theron African Outreach Project benefiting OPRAH's Angel Network. Dude, does Oprah have her fingers in every single philanthropic pie in Hollywood? Sheesh! She must be running for the office of God. [Source]

Michelle Trachtenberg was also on hand for the Amped for Africa event and because I <3 her to death, here are a few pictures:

Weee Dawny! Sorry, I sometimes have to have my Buffy moments. Let's move on ... [Source]

The Festival di Sanremo Italian Songs contest in San Remo rages on in Italy ... even Orlando Bloom was on hand to partake of the festivities. He appeared at the festival this week to be interviewed by Victoria Cabello and then was attacked by Ms. Cabello right on stage:

I suppose I can't fault the lady for taking her chance with Orlando ... I suspect the same thing might occur if someone like, say, me were to appear on stage with someone like, say, Jake Gyllenhaal. Hey, you never know ... and I'm just sayin'. Anyways, click HERE a few video clips from this festival. Looks like it's a hot time in Italy this week! [Source, Source thanks Andreina]

I think it's safe to say that Lindsay Lohan is huge partygirl ... we know that she likes to indulge in various ... things ... but it would appear that her favorite partytime activity is drinking -- as she proudly proclaims on the hoodie she's wearing in these pictures:

I'm telling you ... I just don't understand celebrities sometimes. This sweatshirt thing looks so trashy ... like she picked it up at a Salvation Army Thrift Store or something ... and maybe that's the point? At any rate, drink up Linds! We still love you! [Source]

Jessica Simpson is showing off her fresh new look on the cover of and in the pages of the new issue of W magazine:

"I just feel alive. I feel free. I feel like I can do anything and there's nobody to answer to but myself," says Simpson. "It's been hard, but I've finally come to the realization that it's okay to not be perfect. I really am in a comfortable place." Hmmm ... it's a nice sentiment ... we'll see if she really believes it. Personally, I think she looks pretty standard in these W magazine pictures. They're not bad ... but they're not special either. Now Kelly Clarkson looks amazing in these pictures from Seventeen magazine:

She's just so cute ... I know she's done these poses before but I love her. Kelly can do sophisticated and fun and frisky all in the same photoshoot. Shouldn't she be releasing a new album soon? [Source]

And finally, if you are familiar with The Simpsons then you are familiar with the opening sequence of the show (which has remained largely unchanged since the show first debuted). The creators of the show have shot a live-action version of the opening sequence using real people:

Click HERE to watch the full live-action opening sequence before it airs as a promo in the UK to launch the series' 17th season. I love it! It's a great clip altho, I'm not sure how I feel about the little girl playing Lisa Simpson. She doesn't look smart enough to me ... but the clip is really fun to watch. Check it out! [Source]

The News:
Sarah and I got to spend a lot of quality time together yesterday ... I mean, we were pent up together in a car for about a billion hours on the drive home from Chicago. We had such a great time at the Motorola party that we didn't want to come home ... but I had a plane to catch, so home we came.

I managed to get home in plenty of time to make my plane to NYC ... which ended up being delayed by almost an hour! Ugh ... nothing is worse than being stuck on a plane that is parked on the runway. BUT ... I made it to the city in one piece. Now it's time to do nothing but hang out. There've been a lot of changes in my life recently ... I'm hoping this trip will serve to help me sort thru some of those changes. It's cold here but inviting ... it's great to be back in the city.

I'm out.
