Dreams Come True

Last week Britney Spears dropped a bomb of a story by filing for divorce from Kevin Federline and this week she goes underground, back home to Louisiana, to regroup and prepare for the possibly long, nasty fight that lies ahead. US Weekly's cover story this week is all about Brit and her plans to end her marriage once and for all ... the magazine also reveals that Britney had been contemplating a split for some time now and finally made her decision after receiving a handwritten note from K-Fed himself. Here are a couple pics from the new issue of US Weekly, which hits newsstands this week, of Britney back home in Kentwood, LA:

New information on the final days of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's marriage shows that Spears, 24, laid out her plans to drop Federline and resuscitate her career during the week before she filed for divorce on November 7. However, it was a handwritten letter from Federline that finally pushed the pop star over the edge, causing her to end the two-year union for good. On November 6, after a week of fighting via text message, Federline, 28, sent a handwritten letter to his wife, who was staying at a separate hotel in NYC. "It mostly blamed Britney for all their problems," a family insider says of the letter. Hours later, enraged, she notified her attorney to start drafting the divorce petition and signed it at the hotel just before making a surprise appearance on CBSs Late Show With David Letterman – minus her wedding ring. "That's why she looked so happy," says the source. "A weight had been lifted." And what a weight it was ... approx 180 lbs. of deadweight that was dragging her ass down. I'm just so glad that she finally wised up and saw him for what he was. She just needs to stay the course and proceed steadily & surely and this will be over in no time ... then we can start matching her up with new guys! Wee! The possibilities are endless. In London, Daniel Craig, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Queen Elizabeth II herself all turned out for the premiere of the newest installment in the James Bond franchise titled Casino Royale ... here are a few pics from the event:

Paris happened to be in the neighborhood since she's been hawking her new fragrance around Europe and Lindsay happened to be in town early since she's hosting the World Music Awards later on this week. Despite the fact that Daniel Craig, the new first-ever blonde James Bond, looks a tad scary in this picture (and don't even get me started on that creepy new Bond girl, Eva Green, who is DIRE NEED of an eyebrow wax) I'm pretty sure this Bond movie is going to be a hit. It's about time they brought in some new blood to jazz things up again. From what I've seen of Daniel Craig's work so far (and yes, I am referring to those nude pics that have been going around) I think he's man enough to be the new Bond, James Bond. Ugh ... yeah ... that was kinda lame but it kinda just came out. [Source]

Ahhh ... our dear Paris Hilton ... the little lamb can't go 15 seconds without flashing some body part or another ...

... isn't it a shame that a crotch shot from Paris Hilton now seems so passe? I'll spare you the unpleasantries since it's nothing we haven't seen already ... on many occasions. Maybe she was testing out her new perfume? [Source]

Elsewhere in London, the UK Music Hall Of Fame Awards were held last night and brought out celebs like Beyonce, Patti Labelle, Joss Stone, James Brown, Prince and more:

Bon Jovi were among the inductees at this year's awards show and were paid tribute via satellite by President Bill Clinton and Oprah Winfrey. It sounds like they have a better system of inducting honorees into the UK Hall of Fame than we do here at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While we still wait for Madonna to be eligible for induction, she has already been inducted in the UK. And can I just say that Patti Labelle looks awesome! She beats the hell out of Joss Stone. Love it! [Source]

Hmmm ... now, I know that Reese Witherspoon is going thru a rough time right now since she decided to divorce her hubby Ryan Phillippe but I don't know that I like her just throwing herself at everyone in sight ... here are pictures of Reese trying to put the moves on Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of their new movie Rendition:

She needs to step the eff down and move away from my Jakey poo ... I love Reese but this is just unacceptable to me. [Source, thanks Riikka and Gina]

Having fended off Reese's attack, Jakey hopped into his hot spandex shorts and hopped on his bike and made a quick getaway:

That's right Jake ... you just ride, ride away from those crazy chicks. [Source, Source]

Here is a picture of Matthew Fox on a bike of his own, tho I don't think that he was trying to make a break for it in order to get away from anyone:

Actually ... maybe Reese can go after Matthew. They'd made a cute couple ... is Matthew Fox seeing anyone ...? Do we know ..? I might have to look into this. [Source]

Hello Nicole! You are looking migh-ty damn fine these days. Will you just look at these great pics of Nicole Richie after she did a little shopping at Barney's here in Beverly Hills, CA earlier this week:

Look at those rosy cheeks ... she looks great! Now all she needs to do is give us a little smile :) [Source]

Adam Brody is a hot hunk of dude, I think it's safe to say that pretty much everyone hearts him, but I just don't think that he can make picking wax out of one's ear look sexy:

Especially when he pauses to inspect that it is that he just picked out of his ear. Grody to the EXTREME! Thankfully the rest of him is hot so we can let his little indiscretions slide ... this time. [Source]

Hayden Panettiere was lookin' cute as can be at a Helio event this past Monday night. Since becoming America's favorite cheerleader on the NBC hit show Heroes, I've been keeping my eye on her ... so far I like what I see:

You may recall that it was a little over a year ago that Paris Hilton took little Hayden under her wing to show her the ropes on how to be a Hollywood "It" Girl (ie. which poles are the best to dance on, which clubs let underagers in, which other Hollywood "It" Girls to hate behind their backs but love to their faces) and now little Hayden has graduated to the point where she can go out all on her own. She managed to land the most desirable boy in Laguna Beach (Stephen Coletti) and got a part on one of the few hit shows of the Fall '06 TV season. Not too shabby. Let's see if she can really step up and become a true Hollywood "It" Girl ... the wardrobe malfunction should come along any day now. [Source]

People magazine has unveiled its pick for the Sexiest Man Alive for 2006 ... and I feel that I have to object. While I have no issue with George Clooney being a sexy man, I don't necessarily think that he's the Sexiest Man Alive:

I have to say that they have a lot of sexy men in their runner-up category and personally feel that Jake Gyllenhaal, Rodrigo Santoro, Eric Mabius (who I have been a fan of since he appeared in that awesome movie Welcome to the Dollhouse) and Josh Duhamel are all sexier than Georgie is. But in the end, does it really matter who wins the title? We can still enjoy the sexiness of all the candidates just as much as before the title was given to George Clooney. There's more than enough sexy to go around :) [Source]

Abercrombie & Fitch have unveiled their new faces for their Christmas campaign and I gotta tell ya ... I'm pretty disappointed by this year's crop of hotties:

First off, they're wearing too much clothing and there isn't a hint of homoeroticness in any of the pictures. Is this what A&F truly stands for? Advertising clothing by featuring models who actually wear the clothing? It's absurd! They need to get back to basics, strip those models nekkid and pile the boys upon one another like they usually do. Has the world gone nuts or something? [Source]

And finally Pink readers Jeana, Jon and Laila have sent in these great scans from magazines that feature Pink is the new Blog in them. Jeana sends in this scan from Rolling Stone magazine that talks about musician blogs and highlights the fact that Jon Mayer likes to read PITNB from time to time:

Actually, I got the head's up about this issue of Rolling Stone when it came out a couple of weeks ago and was going to mention it but I totally forgot. Much love to Jeana for sending in the scan. [thanks Jeana]

Jon and Laila sent in their scans from the current issue of Newsweek magazine that features PITNB in question #17 of their Are You A Gearhead? quiz:

Click HERE to take the quiz online. Thank you all for taking the time to let me know about these mentions and for sending in your scans. It is much appreciated! XOXO [thanks Jon and Laila]

Les News:
OMG ... yesterday was seriously a pretty kick ass day. Early yesterday morning I got an email from my new friend Matt who mentioned that I might want to finish writing the blog as soon as I could because he thought there might be a movie that I might be interested in seeing on the Paramount Studios lot at 12 noon. So I had to finish as fast as I could (which is why the newslinks were so short) and get my butt down there ... because he invited me to be his guest at a screening of the new movie Dreamgirls:

For months now I've been hearing the hype about the movie-version of Dreamgirls, I'm sure you've been hearing it as well. The early buzz is Oscars and accolades, that Jennifer Hudson is the next big thing, etc. Generally when something is hyped up this much there isn't much to back it up. That said, I have been very anxious to see the movie for myself. Yesterday I got the last minute invite to attend a screening of Dreamgirls ... so of course, I got my ass down there to see this movie. Believe the hype y'all, this movie is amazing. I'm gonna do my best to not gush but I am pretty sure this movie is going to win all the awards, all the accolades and yes, Jennifer Hudson is as amazing as people have been saying. The movie starts out at the "Detroit Hotel" (and later features the Detroit Theater which I believe is based on the famed Fox Theater on Woodward Ave.) in Detroit, MI and tells the rags to riches tale of The Dreamettes who become The Dreams who become Deena Jones and the Dreams. The music is absolutely stunning, I kept getting chills with each musical number. There are a lot of big songs but they are so well done, so well produced ... they absolutely take over and just suck you in. I'm not sure how to describe it -- when they say that music can have an effect on you, they are referring to this kind of music. The movie is one of those perfect ones that does everything right -- the acting, the music, the staging, the production ... I kept looking for some flaw but one never materialized. It is, by far, the best movie I've seen all year and is, IMHO, even better than Chicago. Trust me, the Academy is going to go apeshizz over this movie.

Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy should be shoe-ins for nominations. Not only was I shocked by Jennifer Hudson (mostly because all she's ever been up until now is a loser on American Idol) but I was also very surprised by Eddie Murphy's performance. He sang like a mofo ... was funny and dramatic ... he really became James 'Thunder' Early. I was even impressed by Beyonce. She really became Deena Jones. Jamie Foxx, who plays the villain in this movie, does an incredible job of being both a Barry Gordy and an Ike Turner (sans violence) who you start out loving and then end up hating. I say, nominations for everyone! This movie charmed the pants of me, I can't wait to see it again.

But really, I just keep going back to the music. When you see this movie, remember what I said ... the music sequences are mesmerizing ... and I dare you not to applaud after Jennifer Hudson's performance of And I'm Telling You. I think she will make Jennifer Holliday (the original Effie) very proud.

Woot! Much love to Matt (who I own BIG TIME -- the hot dog will be on me) for inviting me to this screening.

Tonight I have a red eye bound for Detroit, MI. I'll be there until next Tuesday and am very much looking forward to seeing my parents and my friends (the cold weather, notsomuch). Expect lots of pictures, y'all.

I'll see you on the East Side. I'm out.
