Chicks Dig It

First things first ... for as much grief as Miss Britney Spears likes to give us that doesn't mean that we have to stop loving her. Yes, sometimes her actions make me want to pull my hair out and scream my head off but it's only because I care. With age comes maturity (um, well, it's supposed to) and the older that Britney gets the more mature she should become (if the logic holds). That is why I am thrilled that today is Britney Spears' 25th birthday!

I am sending out all the Birthday Lurve I can muster and this year I hope that Britney gives her fans a birthday gift ... preferably no more crotch shots (tho animated pictures like the one below are OK) and a kickass comeback album that will restore hope and faith for all of humanity ... but hey, I'll take what I can get.

I'm kinda afriad to see how Brit-Brit will choose to celebrate her birthday. If she gets wild and crazy on a regular ol' Monday I can only imagine what hijinks she's got in store for her birthday. Please Lord, help her. [Source]

Little sister Jamie Lynn Spears will not be celebrating her sister's birthday with her, she's already got plans of her own. JL is in Milan, Italy to do promo for the 2007 Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards:

I'm gonna overlook the leggings since they provide no chance of any wardrobe malfunctions. Jamie Lynn has kept her good girl image going for so long now ... it's nice to know that there's a spare Spears to fall back on should the other one fail completely. [Source]

Violet Ann Affleck is also celebrating her birthday this week ... here are cute pictures of mommy Jennifer Garner taking little Violet out for a birthday lunch earlier this week:

It just amazes me how these celeb kids are born and then suddenly are celebrating their first birthdays. Violet looks so much like her mother ... she's adorable. Jen looks pretty happy. What a nice birthday. [Source]

It appears that Parisopolis are back together and back to doing what they do best ... here are a couple pics of the pair slipping into Paris Hilton's place after a nice long night of partying:

I've always thought that these two make a great pair. Obviously, Paris Hilton thinks the same ... she's been going around town lately wearing a locket around her neck that is conveniently left open so that anyone can see the pictures of her and Stavros inside ... which is an excellent way for her to warn off any Hollywood "It" Girls *cough* L. Lo *cough* who may have designs on her man. Love is, once again, in the heiress. [Source]

Gwen Stefani has completed her promo jaunt to the Great White North and was spotted at an airport flying home ... with a very cute little bundle in her arms:

OMG -- so cute! Kingston's little hoodie has ears attached to it! I bet Gwen really wanted a little girl that she could dress up ... but instead, she had a beautiful little boy to play dress-up with. [Source]

Pink reader Kim came across another batch of Hayden Panettiere pics but this time they're from a Facebook profile ... it looks like the party never ends for Hayden and her peeps:

Actually, her party pics are pretty benign. It looks like a regular bunch of kids hanging out and having fun. It's nice to see that Hayden likes to keep it real with her friends ... hopefully as her fame increases her level of fun won't skyrocket from PG-13 to NC-17. [thanks Kim]

Micha Barton's beauty is showcased on the cover and within the pages of the new issue of California Style magazine ... here are a few pics:

Eh, I guess she looks a'ight. The pics are nothing special ... no OOMPH! Even the dog in the picture looks bored. [Source]

I received a few emails from Pink readers Elizabeth, Amanda, Jennifer, Nancy, Ashli, Susan and Charity who all attended the Dixie Chicks concert in Nashville, TN last night. They all wrote to inform me that Natalie Maines gave Pink is the new Blog a huge shout-out during the show ... here are a couple pictures from the show sent in by Charity (pictured with her friends):

Charity writes: Half way through the concert Natalie was introducing the band and she started talking about how she had been dedicating the next song to KFed at all of her shows. She said everyone had thought it was hilarious. She said "but a few days ago we were on the bus and I was told to go look at Pink's the New Blog, because I had to see what was going on with Britney, and I was shocked!!!" "If you don't know what I'm talking about just go and Google Britney Spears, no panties." "And now I don't know who to dedicate this song to because I don't know what TEAM I'm on." Then someone shouted Kid Rock. "Kid Rock, ok this next song goes out to Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson, because they are sooo classy." LOL! I'm dying! That is so awesome. Much love to Natalie and the Chicks for showin' me the lurve! I'm sending my lurve back! Thanks to everyone who wrote to me last night ... sounds like it was a fun concert! XO [thanks Charity]

And finally, it's time for another batch of pictures sent in by Pink is the new Blog readers -- Molly from Waukesha, WI, Carly from Langley, BC and Diana from St. Louis, MO send in pictures of the "beautiful" snow that fell in their neck of the woods this week -- Kaelan and Drew who attended the Xmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center in NYC -- Mandi and Beth Ann helping their friend Kim celebrate her MBA degree which she says she earned "in between reading PITNB" -- Kate and Mark with their Starbucks concoction called Pink is the new Frappicino which is comprised of a Raspberry Creme Frappuccino with extra raspberry and a splash of strawberry -- Detroiter Melissa helping her friend and fellow Detroiter Emily celebrate her birthday at the Magic Bag in Ferndale with the band the Mega 80's:

Much, much love to all of you for the amazing pictures. I say it all the time but, it really means a lot to me that any of you would take the time to send in your fun photos. Thank all y'all again so much! XOXO

Les News:
Last night I got to catch Imogen Heap play the last show of her 2-night stint at The Wiltern here in Los Angeles (she told us that she has never played 2-nights in a row anywhere before). Her show, as always, was amazing. Beautiful songs, beautiful presentation ... it was an awesome show. Here are a few pics:

I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to get any good pictures because I was pretty far back but in fact most of them turned out pretty good. I was prolly midway back from the stage and when the lights went down Imogen started singing ... I turned around and she was right behind me singing and walking thru the crowd. I was so surprised that I failed to snap a pic, all I could do was smile at her. The show was very similar to the one that Sarah and I saw in Detroit last winter at the Magic Bag in Ferndale but it was a bit more elaborate. The stage had more lighting, she picked up a clear piano and she seems to have worked out all the kinks from having to manipulate all of her electronics on stage (she made a few mistakes back in Detroit, she was flawless last night). Even tho she strikes me as a bit nerdy/geeky, I could not deny her insane talent. She can sing and dance around all while programming different keyboards, beat boxes, electronic pianos and whatever else she's wired into on stage and make it all seem perfect. I, for one, love her outlandish outfits ... the pink ensemble she wore last night was no exception. The setlist was heavy on her newest material but she did play Come Here Boy off her debut album iMegaphone for all us old skoolers. I wasn't feeling so hot early in the evening and I almost bailed on the show ... I'm so glad that I didn't because she was awesome. Click HERE to see all my pictures from last night's show. Click HERE to watch the last 2 minutes of the show as Imogen finishes her last song and bids adieu to LA.

Last night I also got to meet a couple of Pink readers who both hail from Tulsa, Oklahoma:

I have to send out a shout-out and lots of Okie love to Sam and Taylor! It was great meeting the both of you!

Today I was scheduled to do red carpet for VH-1's Big in '06 Awards but I am still not feeling too great. I don't want to get sick so I think I'm gonna hafta pass on the show. I have an engagement even later on tonight which I kinda can't miss so I'm gonna just chill out, try and feel better and see how it goes.

I hope y'all are having a great weekend! I'm out.
