Brick House-warming

I am very relieved to report that David Beckham's father, Ted, is recuperating and is said to be in stable condition after suffering a life-threatening heart attack earlier this week. As soon as Becks got word that his father was gravely ill, he dropped everything and boarded the first plane back to the UK. Wifey Vicki B. cut short her promo trip to Japan to be with Becks and his father as well. Ted Beckham is now doing so well with his recovery that Becks and Posh feel it's OK to return home to the US. Here is a pic of Les Beckhams making their way thru Heathrow International Airport in London, England as they head home to LA:

David Beckham has returned to Los Angeles days after rushing to the UK to be at his sick father's bedside. The 32-year-old footballer looked worn-out as he arrived at Heathrow Airport with wife Victoria. Earlier today the England star reportedly spent more than three hours with his 59-year-old father Ted who was said to be "doing well" following life-saving open heart surgery after he suffered a massive coronary last Wednesday. I couldn't be more pleased at this news. I, as I'm sure many folks, am very happy for Becks that things seem to be working out well for his father. I'm sure Becks and Posh would much prefer to stay at his father's bedside for as long as possible but the fact that their 3 boys are back in LA prolly has a lot to do with their return. Shoot, I'm so happy for Becks that I'm not even gonna say a thing about the black traveling hat that he so loves to wear :) [Source]

In other happy (if somewhat unfortunate-looking) couples news, Jennifer Lopez and her undead hubby Darc Anthony continue to wow audiences with the launch of their En Concierto Tour this weekend at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, NJ as they played their second night of the tour last night. Here is a shot of the couple backstage lookin' very much like another famed couple that y'all might recognize:

The yellow dress does look lovely on J. Lo ... and that's about all the compliments I've got left. Even still, I think I may have to at least try and see this show live when it makes its way to my area. I've never seen J. Lo perform live and I think I'd love to see La Diva Latina turn it out live and in person. [Source]

In other performance news, the Pussycat Dolls continue their love affair with women who look like drag queens as they had Tori Spelling serve as the host/MC in their Las Vegas show at Pure nightclub at Caesar's Palace:

I don't get the PCD's fascination with featuring women who look like men dressed as women ... but I do see that if that's your thing then having Tori Spelling play hostess makes total sense. I don't get how this outfit is supposed to look sexy ... she just looks like both The Captain and Tennille all rolled into one ... with a collagen problem. [Source]

Elsewhere in Las Vegas this weekend, our favorite intern, Ross Mathews, celebrated his birthday with a few hundred friends at Tao nightclub at the Venetian Hotel and Casino Resort this past Friday night ... here are a few pics:

Ross has to be one of the coolest guys I've met since moving to LA and I'm so glad that he had such a fun birthday. I keep giving him a hard time since we have a standing roller-skating date that we need to go on ... but I know we'll be hitting the roller rink very soon. Happy Birthday, Ross! xoxo [Source]

For some bizarre reason, Heidi Montag (most probably at the suggestion of her finacee Spencer Pratt) thought it would be a really cool idea to pose for a Baywatch inspired photoshoot:

I would imagine that the idea behind this shoot was that since Heidi recently acquired new Pamela Anderson-like breast implants then it only seems natural to copy one of Pamela's best known looks (maybe for her wedding invitations?). Clearly, she looks ridiculous ... and I can't believe that Heidi actually did this shoot with a straight face, in all seriousness. I guess it goes to show that people will do pretty much anything for a little attention. [Source]

In other Hills girls news, Audrina Paige decided to take a page from the Britney Spears playbook in order to garner a little attention of her own:

Thankfully, Audrina wore undies. I would hate to have had to burn my eyeballs out of their sockets with acid just because Audrina was trying to make it onto TMZ.com [Source]

Let's bring the hawtness back ... Milo Ventimiligia is featured in the October issue of Best Life magazine, lookin' sexy as all hell in these black and white, Fall-inspired photos:

Milo is one of those rare folks that can look equally sexy while he wearing clothes in addition to when he's not. Personally, I wouldn't mind a little more of the latter type of photos but I ain't complainin'. The man looks good in a suit. [Source]

The Spice Girls have updated their official website with the news that the lucky folks who registered at the site and have been selected for a chance to buy tickets will be recieving emails with instructions on how to do so. Happy Day! Additionally, the cover artwork for the special edition version of their Greatest Hits album has been released ... which is almost as boring as the lame-ass cover artwork for the regular version of the album:

In case y'all are intertested to know what songs will be included in the Greatest Hits album, here is the rumored tracklisting:

1. Wannabe
2. Say You'll Be There
3. 2 Become 1
4. Who Do You Think You Are
5. Mama
6. Spice Up Your Life
7. Too Much
8. Stop
9. Viva Forever
10. Goodbye
11. Holler
12. Let Love Lead the Way
13. Woman
14. The Lady

Meh. Color me unimpressed. I'm excited to hopefully see the Spices live on stage (and I use the word "live" very loosely) but all this pre-tour hype and Greatest Hits album news is pretty disappointing. It just feels like they're mucking up this great chance to make a huge splash with this reunion tour by 1.) making it really difficult for folks to get tickets (why can't the tix just go on sale so everyone has a chance to buy them) and 2.) providing fans with extremely boring, extremely lackluster promo materials to get them excited. [Source]

What they need to be doing is reminding fans why they even should want to see them live in the first place. My friend Adriana, who is an amazing photographer, sent me these photos of the Spice Girls on their first full US tour back in 1998 when they appeared at the Palace of Auburn Hills just outside of Detroit, MI. Geri Ginger Spice Halliwell had just left the group but the girls hit the road anyways ... here are a few of Adriana's pics:

Love them or not, these are the Spice Girls that took the world by storm ... as the time approaches for the Spices to get back together and hit the road I really think they need to do a better job of making people care. [thanks Adriana]

Annnnnd, it's that time of the week again ... time to take a gander at the Hot Dude of the Week. This week we've got Bryan ... a hottie who is wearing a whole lotta bling ... and not a thing else:

There is something about the subtle scruffiness that makes this pic look even sexier ... the hot pecs and abs don't hurt either. Bryan might be wearing too many accessories but considering his entire outfit is comprised solely of necklaces, I think we can cut him some slack. The boy is hot. The end. [Source]

And finally ... I have to send out lots of Birthday Lurve to my boy Mark back home in Detroit who is celebrating his birthday today:

Mark turns another year older today and decided to spend the day with his gorge girlfriend Sarah (my absolute BFF) at the cider mill ... which is just so cute. Mark is one of the most genuine people I know in life and I'm very lucky to have him as a friend. I'm bummed I can't be there with him to celebrate today but we'll be drankin' together very soon. Happy Birthday, Mark! XOXO

Les News:
Yesterday afternoon, The GangTM got together at the Swerve Festival in Echo Park for a special screening of the new skateboarding documentary The Man Who Souled the World, which our fave Aussie Kirsten worked so hard on:

If Dogtown and Z-Boys told the tale of how professional skateboarding got its start then The Man Who Souled the World tells the tale of how professional skateboarding became so commercial. Steve Rocco, a skater himself, decided to take on the big skateboarding companies and make a company of his own in his how DIY style ... and managed to turn World Industries skateboarding company into the biggest of its kind in the world. There are a lot of amazing skate scenes in the doco and I was absolutely intrigued with the way that skateboarding culture flourished in the late 80s/early 90s. We all thoroughly enjoyed the film and are all extremely proud of all of Kirsten's hard work. The film opens in limited release this week with all showtimes/dates listed HERE. Check it out!!

After the screening, Mike and I had to hightail it to WeHo for the Grand Opening of the new Brick and Mortar Flagship store event. Mark and Evan, the store owners, were gracious enough to invite me out for the event that I simply couldn't miss out. Here are a few pics from the soiree:

Andrew DiPalma was the mastermind behind last night's fun party and really went out of his way to make sure that Mike and I had a great time. Guy B provided some musical entertainment and it was clear, everyone in attendance had a great time. I got to meet Miss Britney Valentine, the best Britney Spears impersonator IMHO, at the party and also got to run into my old friend Michael. We really just had a great time. The new Brick and Mortar Flagship Store can be found at 8713 Santa Monica Blvd. right near the heart of West Hollywood. I had so much fun partying there ... but I can't wait to go back so I can shop :)

We weren't quite finished yet ... Mike and I met up with Paul and Darion at HERE Lounge to get our dance and drink on ...

... which made for a well-rounded, really fun night -- where I got to meet and take a photo with Pink reader Stacy :)

UGH ... I think I'm all partied out for a while. I'm gonna lie low today ... maybe venture out for some food ... but just chill as much as I can. I hope y'all are having a great, relaxing/fun weekend. I'm out.

Dodger Dawgs

Ahoy there, mateys! Here are some faboo pics of Britney Spears out and about and doing her thing the very week that the debut single, Gimme More, from her new album rocketed to the #1 positions on two different iTunes download charts. Here are pics of our dear Britney rockin' a semi-cute white dress with a semi-questionable pirate-themed belt (and thank the LAWD she was wearin' panties) as she did a bit of partying in the OC this week:

Pink reader Jacqueline was fortunate enough to have a run-in with Miss Brit Brit in the OC and sends in this report:

So, last night I went to Sutra in Costa Mesa for a friend's birthday party, and Britney was there. We found out that there was a runway show going to happen, and there was a raised roped-off section next to the dancefloor/runway. The place is not very big and was super crowded, so we knew we were going to get a glimpse of her. Suddenly, I'm standing on some stairs leading to the bar which is next to the roped off section, and two huge bouncers are flanking a trio of girls, a brunette sandwiched by bleach blondes. Everyone's hair looked fake as hell, so I knew it was Brit. She passed by me about 6 inches away with her head down. We then could see her from the dance floor which was about 20-30 feet away from where she was sitting in her section. She danced half-heartedly in a corner to Gimme More , but spent most of the night on a couch playing with her phone. She wasn't drinking when my friends and I were watching (I did leave rather early b/c it was so packed, so maybe she started later). She had a little white dress on, and while she is not in the best shape now, she still looked damn good.. much better in person, in my opinion, but then, again, it was dark! :) What struck me, though, is that she does not look happy. I know she was probably forced to go to this thing for publicity or something, but she looked more sad than bored. Maybe it was due to the excessive amounts of Justin Timberlake being played.

I can identify, as much as I like JT's music, too much at one sitting makes me sad and bored too ;) [Source]

Additionally, in other perhaps exclusive news, another Pink reader has emailed me to say that he got word from a friend that works at Zomba Records (Britney's label) that the name of her new album will be Blackout. This reader said that his friend "seemed confident" that that would be the name ... so if this news turns out to be true, remember where you heard it from. If not, then forget I said anything :)

Here are a few more pics of Britney as she stepped out to pick up her daily dose of caffeine at Starbucks yesterday:

As I understand it, she drove up to the coffee shop in a tractor and proceeded to pick cornbread from her teeth with a piece of hay. Yeah, just your typical Friday afternoon errands run. It's good to see the new Yorkie is still in one piece. [Source]

One last bit of Britness, last night an art exhibit entitled Just Britney opened at the World of Wonder art gallery in Hollywood, California where more than 30 pieces of art inspired by our dear Britney went on display (artwork includes creations by the amazing artist who runs Gallery of the Absurd) ... here are a few pics of some of the pieces that are currently being displayed which are also available for sale:

Fallen pop princess Britney Spears has been called many things this year as she has bounced in and out of rehab, attacked paparazzi with an umbrella and shaken her stuff on MTV's Video Music Awards. No doubt, Spears has been a real piece of work. Now, she is more than 50 pieces of art at a Hollywood gallery. Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbatos -- makers of the documentary "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" about former televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker Messner as well as other films exploring fame -- gathered paintings, sculpture and other work for "Just Britney," which opened at their gallery on Friday. "We reached out to a number of artists and found Britney is such a polarizing character these days," said Steven Corfe, a co-curator of the show with Thairin Smothers. "People absolutely adored her and wanted to celebrate her bubblegum, pop princess years. Or, they thought she was an irresponsible mother or wanted to play up the drug side of things," Corfe added. "The show reflects that whole spectrum." Pieces range from a portrait of the 25-year-old singer, "Gum Blond XLVIII" by Jason Kronenwald, made of chewed bubble gum, to the 6-foot by 10-foot (1.8 by 3.0-metre) "Snake Charmer" by Jamie Boling, based on a paparazzi photo of Britney exiting a car with her skirt hiked up and no panties on ... "She personifies our obsession with celebrity culture, and it's an obsession that won't die down no matter how far she goes off the rail," Corfe said. "We love to put people up on a pillar and we love even more to shoot them down." "Just Britney" runs through early October at Bailey's and Barbatos' World of Wonder art gallery in Hollywood. Hot damn! You know you're a pop culture icon when an entire art exhibit is dedicated to your influence on the world. Good or bad, Britney Spears is a force to be reckoned with ... and it seems clear, no matter how many times she shoots herself in the (oftentimes bare) foot or suffers some horrible faux pas (or criminal allegation) she still manages to remain ... relevant. I am very interested in seeing this exhibit for myself ... I'd love to see the full scope of how these artists chose to immortalize the wonder that is Britney Spears. [Source]

Alright ... let's move on ... Jennifer Lopez, in spectacular form, kicked off her new En Concierto World Tour at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, NJ last night. There are reports that a decomposing little Latino man was seen skulking around the stage and, at times, even came out onto the stage to try and perform with J. Lo ... being the good sport that she is, she let him do so unimpeded ... but you'll have to forgive me for not including any photos of the undead one:

Love it! This show looks amazing ... I know I previously said that I might stay away from this show just because I didn't want to have to contend with her zombified hubby up on stage as well but, I may have to reconsider. Jenny Lo really knows how to turn it out when she's on the performance stage ... I think I might really want, nay, need to see her live on this tour. Hmmmm. [Source]

The industrious kids at ONTD! have sniffed out another photo of Lance Bass with his new romantic interest Ben Thigpen as they took to the public streets of NYC last week:

By all accounts, the boys seem to be really into one another so I hope that this new interaction becomes something more substantive ... I like seeing Lance paired up with someone hawt he can lurve up on ... [Source]

... and you've got to hand it to Lancey boy, he really knows how to pick the hotties:

These pics of Ben were sent to me by a Pink reader, which came from Ben's Facebook profile. Again, I think it's great that Lance and Ben are spending time together ... there ain't enough open man love in the celeb world :) [thanks Ty]

In other celeb couple news, here are a few pics of Hilary Duff with her hockey boyfriend, the New York Islanders' own, Mike Comrie as they spent the day shopping together on her birthday yesterday afternoon in NYC:

Now, I'm not sure if Mike ended up buying her any more birthday gifts on this latest shopping trip (especially since he already bought her a brand new Mercedes SUV as an early birthday gift last week -- and yes I'm gonna keep mentioning this until I get a brand new car for my birthday from my boyfriend ... ahem, David are you listening? wink wink wink) but I think it's a safe bet that he did buy her some gifts on her actual birthday as well. Whoever says that money can't buy happiness has never dated a rich person so I contend that the smiles on her Hilary's face are real and genuine. Besides, who wouldn't be happy with a nice hunk of beef like Mr. Comrie? [Source]

Oh, Kelly. Kelly, Kelly, Kelly:

When will Kelly Osbourne learn that it is not appropriate for humans to buy their outfits at Pets Mart? [Source]

Here are a few of my fave pics of Michael Jackson ever ... these pics were snapped by the National Enquirer back in 1986 (the TMZ of its day) of Michael Jackson *allegedly* sleeping in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber in order to extend his life for decades ... or so the story went:

Man, blogging would've been so much fun had it existed back in the 80s but, I digress. These pics, along with the other big National Enquirer story that MJ had plans to buy the Elephant Man's bones, were among the biggest tabloid stories of the time ... and only go to show that the crazy antics that we enjoy by the celebs of today are only the latest in a long history of crazyfun insanity. Many interviewers ask me why I believe that people are so interested in celebs these days and I have to remind them that we have always been interested in celebs ... I mean, HELLO! This freakshow was sleeping in a metal contraption that he hoped would extend his lifespan! By these standards, Lindsay Lohan looks totes normal. [Source]

Here are a few screencaps from the 13-minute short film entitled Hotel Chevalier that was directed by Wes Anderson and stars Natalie Portman and Jason Schwartzman which acts as the prologue to Anderson's new movie The Darjeeling Limited:

As I reported weeks ago when I got to screen the short film and the full length movie, Natalie shows off more than her smile in Hotel Chevalier and now YOU, too can see it for yourself. This short film is being offered as a free download at iTunes HERE and, as Wes Anderson intends, should be seen before the full movie The Darjeeling Limited is seen in theaters. Soooo ... what're you waiting for? [Source]

It is my extreme pleasure to announce that Pink reader Katie has won the pair of tickets to see Mark Ronson at the El Rey Theater here in LA next Wednesday October 3rd. Here is the winning photo which features Katie and her brother:

Katie's pic was randomly selected from all the eligible entries ... much congrats Katie! If you would still like to come out and see Mark Ronson perform live (and maybe run into Katie and me at the show) then you can still purchase your tickets HERE.

So ... did any of y'all watch the series debut of the new CBS show Moonlight last night? I have been anxiously awaiting the show's debut since I'm all into good vampire shows (a la Angel). I was fortunate enough to meet Pink reader Chad at the Hollywood Bowl last weekend, who is really good friends with one of my fave Aussie popstars/actresses ever Holly Valance, who I've mentioned on the blog before and who is dating Alex O'Loughlin, the star of Moonlight. Holly and Chad conspired to get Alex to send in a little treat to all the Pink is the new Blog readers:

Sooo hot! I love these pics!! Anyways, I got to watch the series premiere and, it should come as no surprise, that I really love the show already. Moonlight takes a more human approach to the vampire story (while maintaining a complicated romantic past). I like the narration in the show (it's very Gossip Girl) as it lends itself nicely to the audience getting acquainted with the characters overall. I was shocked and surprised to discover that Tami "It wasn't not funny, David!" Roman (who was a castmember on The Real World: Los Angeles) has a pretty prominent role on the show. I also like the character of Beth (who, IMHO, looks a lot like Elisabeth Röhm who played Angel's human friend Kate on that show) because it appears that she may have a little vampireness inside her too ... which I'm sure will be fleshed out in future eps. OH yeah and did I forget to mention that Alex O'Loughlin is uberhot as hell?! Yeah, I'm impressed so far ... this has been one of the new shows I've been looking forward to this season ... getting the love/shout out from Alex is just the icing on the cake :) [much love and thanks Holly & Chad]

And finally, it's time for this week's batch of photos sent in by Pink is the new Blog readers -- Carly, in the Team Pink t-shirt, sends in a pic from her trip to the Vatican City -- Molly and her friend send in a pic from Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers -- Ben and Wilson send in a pic showing off their pink ICs (Identity Cards) who just completed their 2 years of service to the Singapore army and are celebrating their return to civilian life -- Crystal sends in a pic of her daughter Mia rockin' my hairdo on her 1st birthday -- Theresa sends in a pic that was created by her friend Jewelee (I'm told, inspired by me) on the occasion of the birth of Theresa's baby:

Love, love, love them all! Thank you so much for another round of amazing photos. The new pics continue to stream in and I love seeing them all, even if I can't post them all. Much love and thanks go to all y'all who have taken the time to send in your pics. I love, love, love them! XOXO

Les News:
Last night, Kirsten, Paul, Mike and I made our way to Dodgers Stadium to watch the Dodgers beat the hell out of the San Francisco Giants with a final score of 8-3. To be honest, 3/4th of us were more interested in the fun junk food at the stadium and since this was Kirsten's first baseball game (she's from OZ) I felt it was my duty to show her all the best/worst junk food available:

We had Dodger Dogs, Dippin' Dots, French Fries, Cracker Jack ... we ate until we nearly puked ... it was amazing! We also ran into my dear friend Gillian from TMZ who was also in the hiz for the game.

It turns out that the ever tanned Zac Efron was also at last night's game ... cozying up to a girl that wasn't Vanessa Hudgens:

Hmm ... I love that both Gillian from TMZ and I were both at the same game as Zac (and apparently Joey Fat-one) and neither one of us knew it at the time ;)

After the game, we made our way to WeHo for a quick drink at The Abbey and then a few more drinks (and fun and flesh) at Eleven:

Kirsten really liked her go-go boy ... who was actually very hot up close, too. We all had an amazing time. I have to give a shout out to Pink reader Danny (pictured above) ... it was great meeting you :)

OY! So much going on ... the gang is reconvening tonight for a screening of a new skateboarding documentary that Kirsten has been working on and then we hope to head over to the Grand Opening Party for the new Brick and Mortar Flagship Store here in LA ... and then who knows what after.

Hope y'all are having a great weekend ... I'm out.

Our Lips Are Sealed

Woot! Woot! I ain't got nuthin' but good Britney Spears news today, which I'm sure the Britney faithful will be very happy to hear (and despite what all the haters would like people to believe, there are a lot of faithful folks out there). First up, I am ecstatic to update one of the Britney items from yesterday's post ... her new single Gimme More has been making a lot of noise on the iTunes downloads charts, coming in yesterday at #3 on the song chart and #1 on the ringtones chart. Today, I'm happy to report that the song sits right at #1 on both charts:

I like to think that a bunch of Pink is the new Blog readers logged on and downloaded Gimme More from iTunes after yesterday's post and had a lot to do with the song going to #1. You will note that Kanye West is ranked at #3 on the song chart. I bet he's real happy about that. I can't wait to hear him bitching about it on TV. Anyways, much congrats to Britney on this great achievement ... I suspect that this is but the first of many #1s to come. [Source]

In other positive news, the official website for Britney's newest fragrance Believe has been updated with some new information (for example, did you know that the triangular shaped, peridot colored bottle is multifaceted to represent Britney's many beliefs?) and a couple of extras for download. This new image has been added to the site and can be downloaded as computer wallpaper:

I love this pic. It's a great reminder of the Britney Spears that we all know and love (most probably because the photo was prolly dug up from her image archives since it looks like it was taken about 3 years ago [despite what the folks at Elizabeth Arden cosmetics claim]) and gives me hope and makes me BELIEVE that she still has a chance to have success again in her future. Woot! Can I just say how amazing it is to have only good things to talk about regarding our dear Britney? I don't even know what I'd do with myself if this practice became a normal, everyday occurrence. [Source]

In other fragrance news (you know, cuz we can never have enough celebrity fragrance news), Paris Hilton thinks there is a market for her to release another perfume that no one prolly has any interest in buying ... most likely because she just wanted to be featured in a new photoshoot. Here is our first look at the promo artwork for the new fragrance Can Can by Paris Hilton:

Meh. I'm not sure who this perfume (or any other Paris Hilton perfume) is targeted for. I have a hard time believing that grown women would be interested in smelling like Paris Hilton (or any other Hollywood "It" Girl celebrity fragrance for that matter, Britney included) so it must be meant for kids ... who want to be and smell like Paris Hilton ... shudder. Whatev, I'm stickin' with my support of Shania Starlight. It may be a cheap perfume but at least it don't smell like Paris Hilton's can can. [Source]

Hilary Duff is celebrating her 20th birthday today (altho, she prolly got the party started last week when her current boyfriend Mike Comrie gave her a Mercedes SUV as an early birthday gift) and decided to share the celebration with a few celebrity friends at the Pacific Design Center here in LA for the 2007 Spirit of Life Dinner ... here are a few pics:

The Spirit of Life dinner benefits City of Hope which is a biomedical research and treatment institution dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer. Hilary partied with her friends Miley "I'm not having sex until I'm married" Cyrus and the very overcooked-looking Jesse McCartney who looks like he has a serious case of Zac Efron-envy (hence the overdoneness courtesy of his friendly neighborhood tanning salon). I love that, at the ripe old age of 20, Hilary Duff is choosing to celebrate her birthday in such a positive manner. I can't think of a better cause for her to support and I wish her all the best. Happy Birthday, Hil!! [Source]

Elsewhere in LA last night, Hayden Panettiere played hostess at an event for Declare Yourself (the national nonpartisan, nonprofit campaign to energize and empower every eligible 18-year-old in America to register and vote in the 2008 presidential election ) at the Wallis Annenberg Cultural Center in Beverly Hills ... here are a few pics from that red carpet:

Hayden's new shadow Kristen Bell was in the hiz along with Justin Timberlake. Again, I'm pretty impressed that young stars like Hayden, Kristen and JT are affiliating themselves with this sort of organization which, I'm sure, will go a long way in inspiring other young people to get involved as well. Tho, I bet sometimes (good cause or not) Hayden wishes she could go to an event and not have to have the new girl tag along ;) [Source]

Over in London, Vicki B. promptly arrived from Japan (strangely enough, with a bottle of champagne in tow) to be with her husband David Beckham as they await word on Becks' father Ted Beckham's condition after his heart attack. Here is a pic of Posh boarding her jet in Japan (note the bottle of booze carried by her handler) and then a pic of Becks and Posh as they made their way to the hospital where Daddy Beckham is being treated:

Three days after suffering a life-threatening heart attack, David Beckham's father, Ted, is on the road to recovery. The 59-year-old gas fitter's condition was described as "stable" as he regained consciousness and began talking from his bed. Both David and Victoria Beckham are understood to have been with him when he uttered his first words at the London Chest Hospital following a near fatal heart attack on Wednesday evening. After flying in from LA and Japan respectively, the couple spent two-and-a-half hours at his bedside before leaving the hospital in the 32-year-old footballer's 4 x 4, followed by a marked police van. With a long term prognosis still not clear, the Mail can reveal Beckham has been given "compassionate leave" by his new club, LA Galaxy. The England star, who signed to the US side for £128 million earlier this year, has told officials he intends to stay with his father "for as long as it takes". Similarly, the 33-year-old Spice Girl has postponed all outstanding promotional duties - risking the wrath of her big money sponsors - until her father-in-law has been given the all-clear. The mother-of-three arrived in London in the early hours of the morning, after a gruelling 24 hour journey from Japan. I think it should go without saying that both Becks and Posh would be staying in London until Daddy Beckham fully recovers. I know I give Posh a bit of grief for looking like an unemotional, inanimate robotic cyborg completely devoid of the spark of life but it seems very clear that she does have emotions and that she would do anything, drop anything to be a source of comfort should her family need it. I'm confident that things will work out for the Beckhams ... they've got a lot of people pulling for a full recovery. [Source]

Elsewhere in London, Kimberly StEWWWart was photographed making her way into and then out of a Playboy magazine party which was held at Sketch nightclub (how apropros) last night ... the unfortunate-looking lass opted for a low cut black dress so that she could show off her significantly misproportioned breasts:

Now, I know that she had her fake breasts removed a couple of years ago (and then had them framed for hanging on Jack Osbourne's bedroom wall) but I was unaware that she decided to put just the one back in. I'm not sure if she's trying to make the mismatched boobs look a new thing but ... I'm not a fan. Blech. [Source]

In Milan, for Fashion Week, Rihanna hung up her umbrella and took the stage as a model in the DSquared fashion show this week ... here are a few pics of Ri Ri lookin' all faboo on the catwalk:

Now Rihanna is a beautiful sight to behold (and her boobs are the same size and everything!). I would love to see her do more modeling in the future, she rarely looks bad (er, that is unless she's wearing pleather lace-lined tutus on the concert stage ... cuz that's just ew) and clearly knows how to work it on the runway. [Source]

In NYC, Louis Vuitton threw a little shindig in celebration of Wes Anderson and his new movie The Darjeeling Limited at La Grenouille Resaurant last night. Here are a few pics from that par-tay:

As strange as it may sound, a 10-piece set of Louis Vuitton luggage co-stars with Jason Schwartzman, Owen Wilson and Adrien Brody in the film, so it seems very natural that LV would want to throw a party for the movie. I'm a fan of the movie (loved it) and a fan of LV (really love it ... in fact, I own those ridiculous orange and red LV sneaker boots that Adrien is wearing in the second pic) so of course I have to mention this little affair. I'm just bummed I wasn't in town to attend :( I imagine that gift bags from a Louis Vuitton party are pretty swank ... especially the "bag" part. The Darjeeling Limited opens in NYC tomorrow and then wider in subsequent weeks. [Source]

Elsewhere in NYC, production on the new Sex and the City movie continues as new reports of in-fighting among the principle stars of the movie (most specifically betwixt Sarah Jessica Parker [the main star] and Kim Cattrall [the wannabe main star]) have begun to surface which, if the reports are to be believed, is causing strife on the set of the week old production:

Put four feisty women on a set and what do you get? Catfights and handbags at dawn, of course. When news of the impending Sex And The City movie broke, women and gay men everywhere were waving their Manolos in the air and jumping with joy. But now it's reported in-fighting is threatening to halt filming. Last week Kim, 51, stormed out of a reunion party in New York's Butter restaurant in a huge huff. A source said: "Kim and Sarah had words and obviously something was said that upset Kim and she just stormed out. It's well known the girls are all quite feisty and opinionated. Everyone else at the party seemed quite embarrassed and shocked." Just this week Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte, reportedly had to separate the girls after Kim shouted at Sarah for fluffing her lines and stealing her shoes. An insider revealed: "Kim wanted to wear a pair of red heels and picked them out from wardrobe especially, but then Sarah apparently swept in and took them, much to Kim's disgust." Tension between the pair is said to behind delays in the movie, due for release next year, and producers fear for the film's future if the spat continues. The insider said: "By the end of the TV series they could barely be civil to each other. But both women are top professionals and won't let this get in the way of their jobs. They know the Sex And The City movie is a huge money-spinner and a great way to wave goodbye to their characters, and each other, for good." Filming of the big screen version of the cult wildly successful Sex and the City television show started earlier this week, after a deal was sealed between feuding actresses Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall. Oh c'mon ... are we seriously supposed to believe that the fighting has gotten so bad that the fate of the movie is already in jeopardy? I don't know that I really believe that ... altho, the ladies in question were known to argue quite a lot when the TV show was ending its run ... and it did take a looooong time for these women to come to an understanding about making a movie (Kim Cattrall was the lone hold-out for so long). Okay ... there *may* be a grain of truth to these reports ... but this movie will be made, one way or another, but the storyline that takes place on the set of the movie in real life might come to overshadow the one that plays out on the big screen. [Source]

Also in NYC, People magazine threw a little party to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the much-beloved TV gameshow The Wheel of Fortune ... here are a couple pics of Pat Sajak and Vanna White at last night's event:

I suppose much congrats are in order ... Pat Sajak made it cool to publicly insult gameshow contestants to their faces without them even knowing about it and Vanna White made it cool for girl's to spell words (but only if they looked amazing in their designer gowns) ... what's not to celebrate?! Here's to 25 more years of the Wheel! [Source]

Okay ... so I think I finally have the real skinny on the identity of this mysterious man posing in this photo with Lance Bass. Apparently, according to a few different Pink readers, his name is Ben and he went to the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA:

It is my understanding that Ben confided to some friends that he and Lance have been dating for some time (at least a month now) which would put some overlap (or at least very close proximity) with Lance's relationship with Pedro Whatshisname. Another Pink reader was lucky enough to hang out with Lance and Ben in NYC this past week and can confirm that Ben really likes to "party" and that Lance and Ben were "all over each other" for much of the night. Interesting. According to THIS website, Ben lives in NYC and is a production assistant with photographer Arthur Elgort. A-ha! So now we know quite a bit about the lad ... and now we wait to see if they will be photographed together again sometime soon. [Source, thanks Paul, Amanda and Eric]

Here is a look at all 15 contestants who will appear on the new season of Project Runway when it debuts on Wednesday November 14th:

A very industrious person at ONTD! has taken the time to match up the pics with the names/descriptions of all the contestants HERE. I'm just happy to get a gander at what they all look like. I'm *so* excited!!! [Source]

Here is the first promo image for the new season of Nip/Tuck:

Fans of the show know that the last season ended with the doctors deciding to move their medical practice to LA ... which is where this new season picks up. Love it. It's about time that Dr. Troy brought his skeevy ways to Tinsel Town. [Source]

And finally ... altho I should've been sleeping after I got home from last night's activities, I had to watch the season premiere of CSI: to find out the fate of Sara Sidle, who was left in the desert, pinned underneath a car and left to die by the Miniature Killer in the season finale back in May:

So as not to spoil anything, I'll just say that I wasn't that surprised at the outcome of last night's premiere ep ... but I was very surprised to read THIS interview with Jorja Fox (who plays Sara) about her future on the show. Beware, the interview is riddled with very spoilerish information. [Source via Source]

Les News:
Last night Mike and I attended the Season 2 premiere party for The Sarah Silverman Program on Comedy Central at the Velvet Margarita in Hollywood and we had an absolute blast. I was intent on getting to talk to Sarah about her comedy routine at the MTV VMAs earlier this month because I thought she was insanely hilarious. She was very sweet, very complimentary and extremely normal to talk to. Here are a few pics from last night:

Yes, Sarah obliged when I asked her if we could pose for a lips photo ... tho, this time we're imitating Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton :) Sarah mentioned that she was so surprised at how much flak she got for her routine ... I said it before, I thought she was funny and obvs joking ... as comedians are known to do.

After the party (which ran later for us than I anticipated) we stopped by the Cat and the Fiddle to grab some beers where we met Pink readers Meredith (an old skool reader from waaaay back in the day) and Ameet, then we made our way to Tiger Heat to get our dance on. We didn't stay out too late but I still had a hard time with my alarm clock this morning (see the CSI: bit above).

Tonight, Mike hooked us up with Dodgers tickets so he, Kirsten, Paul and I are going to the game at Dodgers Stadium. Woot!

And so ... that is all, have a great weekend, I'm out.

Papa Can You Hear Me?

Things are fairly quiet on the Britney Spears front today ... she was snapped grabbing lunch in Burbank yesterday before she made her way to a recording studio ... here are pictures of Britters exiting a Mexican restaurant called Acapulco with a cd in hand (her new cd?) and a big fat diamond ring on her finger:

Photo credit: Splash News & Big! Pictures

Oh yeah, she was also snapped being handed what looks to be a glass of Margarita by her able assistant/cousin Alli Sims but, since we can't be absolutely sure what's in the glass let's just move on ... shall we? I'm more intrigued by that fat rock on her finger. Was it a gift from a secret admirer? Does Britney have a dude that she's keepin' under wraps or is she just buying expensive baubles of ice for herself? [Source]

In happier Britney news, her new single Gimme More was officially released on iTunes this past Tuesday and has already become the #3 song on the iTunes singles chart and the #1 song on their new ringtones chart:

Say what you will about Brit Brit and her effing crazy life, the girl still has appeal ... apparently there are still a lot of people out there interested in her music despite what they may think about her lifestyle. I'm telling you ... her album will be a smash hit ... well, at least for a little while. [Source]

US Weekly threw it's annual Hot in Hollywood party at Opera nightclub last night and a who's who of the Hollywood elite came out for the event ...

... er, well, okay ... so 50% of the party attendees were castmembers of the MTV show The Hills but it still looked like it was a good time ... despite the fact that LC and Heidi kept their distance and didn't come to blows. Head on over to Metromix LA to check out a bunch of party pics from inside the event. [Source]

Speaking of those Hills girls, Audrina brought along her "ex" boyfriend Justin Bobby to the Hot in Hollywood party, most likely because he couldn't get into the party on his own ... which was pretty much the scenario last year when Audrina used LC to get into the same event (before Audrina became LC's new Heidi). BUT, Audrina has her eyes set even higher ... she's been cozying up to Morris the Cat (from those 9 Lives cat food commercials) in order to climb her way even further up the social ladder:

Actually, Audrina was chillin' with Morris the Cat in order to celebrate her adoption of the 500,000th cat as part of the Morris The Cat and 9 Lives Million Cat Rescue Campaign -- which I think is an amazing endeavor (and should raise her visibility significantly around town -- altho not quite as high as if she were hanging out with that Meow Mix cat that goes Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow ...). Audrina had no good reason for hanging out with Justin Bobby other than the fact that she prolly got some nookie out of him afterwards. [Source, Source]

In sad news, David Beckham got word that his father suffered a heart attack and immediately rushed to the airport here in LA and flew back home to England to be with his father ... here are pics of a very sad-looking Becks making his way thru LAX airport:

Wife Vicki B. has flown to Japan earlier this week for the launch of some new dVb product but cut her trip short so that she, too, could fly back to England to be with Daddy Beckham:

David Beckham is at his father's hospital bedside after making a mercy dash to London from Los Angeles. The former England captain landed at Heathrow Airport this afternoon and drove directly to the London Chest Hospital in Bethnal Green, where his father is recovering from surgery after suffering a near-fatal heart attack last night. He will soon be joined by his wife Victoria, who has abandoned the launch of her new cosmetics range in Japan to join her husband. Posh was seen hurrying through Japan's New Tokyo International Airport today and a spokesman confirmed she is due to land back in the UK sometime tomorrow. Ted Beckham, 59, is now reported to be in a stable condition. David has not made a statement, but his spokesman said: "His priority is to see his dad and that is his first concern" ... The dash to London as soon as he heard Ted "died" on the way to Whipp's Cross hospital in East London and had to be revived by paramedics. He was taken into the resuscitation room, where doctors battled for three hours to save him and was later moved to the London Chest Hospital. This is absolutely horrible news and I am very relieved to hear that Becks's father is in stable condition and is resting comfortably. I cannot for the life of me imagine what it must've felt like for Becks to receive this horrible news but it is my sincere hope that his father fully recuperates and will be OK. [Source]

Angelina Jolie joined her new BFF, former President Bill Clinton at a recent Clinton Global Initiative event in NYC where the two powerhouses joined forces to end suffering and save the world from the forces of evil:

Who needs superheroes when we can rely on Angelina Jolie and Bill Clinton with the safety and care of our planet? I can already see it now ... Brad Pitt will be the Robin to Angelina's Batman (which means he has to ride in the sidecar) and all 3 of them can join forces with humanitarians Oprah Winfrey, Madonna and Paris Hilton to form a whole new league of Super Friends! A-ha! This *must* be the reason that Paris is planning a trip to Rwanda ... she wanted to get in on the real-life superhero action. Maybe she's smarter than I thought she was. [Source]

Kiefer Sutherland was honored with the ACTRA Award of Excellence at the Los Angeles residence of Canada's Consul General yesterday afternoon ...

... and it is my understanding that the award he was given doubles as a flask -- you pop the head off and chug-a-lug -- which seems a very appropriate award for him to receive right about now. Congrats! [Source]

Yikes! Madonna must be pumping nuclear juice thru her veins in order to fight off the effects of aging because the poor woman's veins look like they're about to pop right thru her skin:

I'm all for Madge staying forever young but can't she just inject botox into her body like everyone else does? At least the botox might rein in those bulging veins a bit. EEK. [Source]

Pink reader and photographer Walter met Rosie O'Donnell on the set of Nip/Tuck last weekend and sends in this great pic of Rosie posing with 4 half-nekkid dudes, who will also, presumably, show up on the show as well:

As you can see, Rosie was checkin' out Walter's friend Griffin's hot bod in the pic. Should Rosie ever want to take another gander at Griffin (the smallest half-nekkid dude in this pic), all she need do is check him out at work -- he go-gos at MJs, HERE Lounge and Privelege. Woot! I love this pic ... and I love Nip/Tuck ... and I love that Rosie will be on Nip/Tuck again this new season. Again, I say, Woot! [thanks Walter]

Lance Bass was snapped with an as-yet-unnamed new fellow at an NYC bar called 200 Orchard at the High Voltage party ... which begs the question, is this the new man in Lance's life?

I realize that just because the two are chillin' together, posin' for pics, that it doesn't mean that they're romantically involved ... but it'd be nice to see Lance reattached to someone else since his break-up with Pedro Whatshisname. These two'd make a cute couple, no? [Source]

UPDATE: Pink reader Quinn writes in to say this new dude looks like Richard H. Blake who is currently appearing on Broadway in Legally Blonde as Warner Huntington III. Apparently, not only is Richard straight ... but he is married as well ... so it's not him. Poor Lance, unlucky in love again.

Here are new pictures of Matthew McConaughey wearing clothes again ... for, like, the second day in a row. Seriously, WTF is going on here?

I'm not sure I'm totally on board with all this clothes-wearin' that Matthew has got going on lately. In the previous pics he was on set shooting a new commercial or something like that ... but in these pics, he's just walkin' the streets of Paris, France ... fully clothed. It's really weird. [Source]

In decidedly-less clothes wearing news, here are newish pics of Rodrigo Santoro doing a bit of surfing while he vacays in Rio de Janeiro:

He's a deffo hottie ... at least he understands the importance of wearing as little clothing as possible. I can pretty much forgive him now for almost totally and completely ruining the show Lost with his pointless character Paulo. Just stay wet and half-nekkid, Rodrigo, and everything will be just fine. [Source]

Woot! Last night during part 1 of the Top Chef season finale the announcement was officially made that season 4 of Project Runway will debut on Bravo on Wednesday November 14:

Fashion Forward News is proud to announce the premiere of Project Runway 4. Fans of the show: you've been patient for long enough, so set your DVRs and get your eyes-for-fashion ready, because here we go... Clear your schedules for Wednesday, November 14th at 10:00pm. You may recall that I reported back in August that Heidi Klum leaked news of this premiere date on her official website, only to have it removed the day after because Bravo started issuing denials, saying: "No, we have not locked a date. (Nov. 14) was posted to Heidi's Web site in error and has now been removed. Sorry for any confusion." All that dumb drama aside, I'm just ECSTATIC that the show will be returning in just a couple of months. Yay! [Source, Source, thanks Erica]

Detroit, MI is about to get a whole lot cooler ... the new MGM Grand Hotel and Casino is set to open its doors next Wednesday October, 3rd. After many years of planning and construction, the new MGM Grand is ready to jazz up downtown Detroit:

It's a good bet jaws will drop when visitors get their first look at the long-awaited MGM Grand Detroit luxury hotel, casino, spa and entertainment complex scheduled to open at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday. Built from the ground up on the western edge of downtown, the visually stunning, $805-million-plus development -- done up in rich woods and fabrics, chic décor and gee-whiz lighting and special effects -- looks every bit its extravagant price tag. In a few words, it's a knock-out, according to those who have seen it including newly-hired staff members and work crews scrambling to get the complex in shape to open next week. They say it's as if they took a little corner of the Las Vegas Strip and plopped it down in the Motor City, pulling out all the marble, teak and granite stops to put Detroit on the radar screen as a savvy and stylish entertainment mecca even for travelers not interested in gaming per se. MGM Grand is betting the house, so to speak, on attracting not only locals but travelers from neighboring states, Canada and beyond who've never before considered Detroit a travel destination. "We're ...way more than a casino," said John Hutar, general manager of the 400-room MGM Grand hotel, where nightly rates are in the $300 range. "On weekends, we hope to be a big draw for the local drive market. There are a lot of people in the metro area, southeast Michigan, northeast Indiana, northwest Ohio, even Chicago, that don't think of Detroit as a weekend getaway destination. There really hasn't been a luxury hotel in downtown Detroit" Until now. With two more new casino hotels in the works in Detroit and another rising across the river at Casino Windsor, MGM -- as the first to roll open its shiny doors -- hopes to establish itself as Metro Detroit's alpha or dominant entertainment complex. I am so excited ... this new complex has been in the works for so long, I never thought it'd finally open. I took a peek at the construction the last time I was home and it looks simply stunning in person. I am so excited for Detroit ... I have a great feeling that this new entertainment complex will pump even more new life into downtown Detroit Rock City. Yay! If any of y'all back home in Detroit get to check out the MGM Grand before I get a chance to get home in late October please send me your pics and reports. I'm really anxious to hear what folks think about the new complex. [Source, thanks Joe]

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the iconic album Thriller, Michael Jackson is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of L'Uomo Vogue magazine:

I just don't understand why MJ can't find clothes that don't look like they came from a surplus sale at a Military Uniform outlet shop (or pants that go all way down past his ankles, for that matter) but he is the King of Pop and, well, David loves him (seriously) so there you go. [thanks Dave]

The new commercial for Diddy's new fragrance Unforgiveable Woman is, apparently, too hot for US TV ...

... but folks in the UK will get to check it out as it debuts on their airwaves this week. You can check out the ad HERE and decide for yourself ... does it stink? [Source]

And finally, the grand Sydney Opera House has gone pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month ...

... which is a great cause, don't get me wrong, but I'd like to think that my homies down in OZ might also be throwin' a little lurve out to Pink is the new Blog, too ;) [Source]

Les News:
Yesterday was a pretty chill day ... I ran around town taking care of a few things ... and ended up staying in so I could watch TV and read for a bit. Tonight I have 2 events that are taking place simultaneously and I need to figure out how to be in two places at once. We'll see if I'm actually able to do it all ... and that is all. I'm out.
