Green Machine

I don't know how you spent your St. Patrick's Day yesterday but Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were lucky enough to cart around a little leprechaun of their very own. Here are pictures of TomKat at one of Conner Cruise's (many, many) basketball games in Hollywood yesterday afternoon:

Even *I* gotta admit that little Suri Holmes Cruise looks absolutely adorable in that little green dress. I think I'm starting to gain an affinity for the little tyke ... [Source]

... especially since I've figured out where she came from. The new Dolce & Gabbana ad campaign has a curious photo of a mysterious-looking lab where babies are created ... and then it occurred to me that this must be how Suri was brought into existence:

It makes sense ... all those hot, half-nekkid mens look like the type of folk that Tom Cruise might be interested in working with ... I mean, who wouldn't? Right? I know that I'm not ready to be a father ... but maybe when that day comes I'll have my own little Suri created in a lab just like this. [Source]

Celebs Martin Sheen, Ben Harper, Laura Dern and others were on hand for the 4th annual anti-war protest that took place here in LA over the weekend. This doesn't sound like my ideal way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day but everyone's got their own thing:

United for Peace and Justice, which describes itself as the largest anti-war coalition in the United States, said it expected the protesters to turn up here en masse to mark the fourth anniversary of the US-led Iraq invasion. "The national anti-war movement is planning a unified surge of protest actions calling on Congress to end the occupation and for the immediate withdrawal of US troops," the group said in a statement ... In Los Angeles, several thousand demonstrators took to the streets. Organizers of the rally in Hollywood estimated its size at "tens of thousands," while the Los Angeles Police Department said the figure was in the 5,000-6,000 range. Protesters blew whistles and carried placards bearing slogans critical of Bush, such as "Worst President Ever" and "It's time for regime change in Washington." A smattering of celebrities were also marching in the crowd, organizers said, including veteran actor and peace activist Martin Sheen and actress Maria Bello, the star of "Thank you for Smoking" and "A History of Violence." Ian Thompson, of ANSWER, said the protest was the biggest in Los Angeles since 2005. "People have had enough and this is their way of showing it," Thompson told AFP. "This government needs to start listening to what the people want. And most people don't want us to be fighting war in Iraq," Thompson added. I, for one, agree that it's long past overdue that our troops are brought back from Iraq. The majority of Americans agree that it's time to end the war in Iraq (many conceding that it was a mistake to go into Iraq from the beginning) and it is high time that the government listen to the voice of the people. I commend celebrities like Martin Sheen who have remained steadfast in their opposition to the war and have acted out and publicly demonstrated their beliefs. Hopefully our government leaders will come to their senses and finally wave the white flag. [Source]

The vast majority of celebs didn't spend the weekend demonstrating against anything, for the most part they spent their time indulging their various fancies. New dad Tobey Maguire spent some quality time with his daughter Ruby in on hand and a bottle in the other:

Er, but that bottle actually looks to be a cold Miller Lite beer bottle. Yep, Tobey looks like an old pro at this "dad stuff". I quite admire his baby-holding technique. [Source]

Down in Oz, sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue where on hand for the Australian Formula One Grand Prix at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne, Australia ... here are a few pics from the race grid:

I had no idea that either Kylie or Dannii were big racecar fans. They look great ... er, well Kylie does at least. Dannii is really pushing it with that thing she's got on her head. The only thing that would look worse would be if she were wearing an actual towel on her head ... [Source]

... which is where Lindsay Lohan comes in. Here are pictures of Lindsay out and about in NYC actually wearing a beach towel on her head:

I suppose when one feels compelled to compete for fashion superiority with the likes of the Olsen twins then one must resort to drastic measures in ones campaign. Is it wrong that I think L. Lo at least makes it work? [Source]

Now, I'm a big admirer of Miss Gwen Stefani. I am usually on board with whatever crazy fashion trend she tries to make happen because I am usually of the mind that she has great fashion sense and a keen ability to pull off pretty much any look she wants. This is why I'm so aghast at these new pictures of Gwen Stefani on the set of her new music video ... I'm not sure what I'm more appalled by ... her absolutely ginormous (and terrifying, I might add, feet) or her blatant butt scratching:

See ... now I expect to be assaulted by Paris Hilton's scary-looking, huge-ass feet ... and I would expect someone like Kimberley Stewart to freely go to own on her butt itch in plain, public view -- but not my Gwen Stefani! I'm also having a hard time picturing hubby Gavin Rossdale rubbing those things ... OY! [Source]

It would seem that the Barker feud has finally come to a close. What was once an all-out war now appears to have been nothing more than a childish lovers spat ... Travis Barker treated his estranged wife Shanna Moakler to a pretty lavish birthday party where he also treated her to multiple stabs with his tongue:

I gotta say, I'm not that surprised that these two are finally getting back together (despite all this talk that they're "just friends"). They seem well suited for one another (tho, I once believed that Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock were well suited for one-another as well) and look very happy with each other ... when they're not spitting hateful curses and accusations at one another. I say, let bygones be bygones ... make another baby! C'mon ... you know you wanna! [Source]

Tomorrow, Naomi Campbell begins her 5-day sentence of community service where she will spend her time mopping floors, scrubbing toilets and various other fun activities (and I *can't wait* to see the photos). And it looks like Naomi isn't going to be receiving any special treatment ... no matter how hard she tries:

STROPPY super model Naomi Campbell was horrified to find she had to wear a sweaty workmen's vest for community service. The catwalk diva demanded she was given the shiny reflector jacket early so she could take it home and give it a good wash. But New York Sanitation bosses REFUSED the request by her lawyers -- and said she'd get the gear on Monday when she starts five days' mopping floors and emptying bins. A Sanitation insider said: "We joked that she wanted the jacket tailored" ... She will also not be allowed to sneak in to protect her from a 'walk of shame' past the press. Sanitation chief Albert Durrell warned: "This is not a club." Bosses will also issue Naomi with a pair of tough gloves. It's all a bit of a comedown from her Persil ad three years ago when she wore slinky rubber gloves -- plus high heels and a bikini. Advert boss Vincent McEvoy said: "It's funny that she will be scrubbing in gloves for nothing. We paid her a fortune." LOLOLOLOL! This is so brilliant ... I can't wait. Justice may be served in an extremely watered-down fashion for celebrities ... but there is a bit of a sting that seems especially poignant in cases like this. Boy George knows what I'm talking about. [Source]

A very grown-up and mature-looking Mandy Moore is featured in the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine:

Honestly, I almost didn't even recognize her. She look so ... different. She has a bit of an Elizabeth Taylor look about her. Mandy is about to unleash her new album, Wild Hope, this summer ... I assume this new mature look is meant to let us know that she has grown. I can't wait to hear her new sound for myself. [Source]

It's been a few weeks since I've posted the Jossip TV weekly round-up that my David tapes in NYC (in my defense, David was sick and missed taping an ep or two in the interim) but he did managed to tape this week's episode before he flew out to LA this weekend ... and here it is:

Seriously, his weekly reports for LX.tv are so damn cute! He's a funny one, my boo. Check it out and tell me you don't want to fall in love with him ... but you can't, he's mine :)

And finally, it's time for the Hot Dude of the Week. I'm not sure why it is that I tend to pick out the dudes who seem to have a hard time keeping their underwear on (you may remember that last week's Hot Dude of the Week, Kyle, was actually draping his undies over his shoulder) but I've yet to hear complaints so I guess I'm doing something right ... say hello to John:

Actually, I think I do know why I chose the dudes that I choose ... well, at least I have a theory why I picked John this week -- it's all because of the movie 300. With all those carved abs and ripped pecs running around that movie, I think I was brainwashed into making this week's selection ... yeah ... that's it. Enjoy! [Source]

Les News:
David and I had a very nice day together yesterday. We passed by Molly Malone's Irish Pub before grabbing a quick bite to eat at Toast. We ended up chillin' out at home last night watching DVDs and et cetera. I already dropped him off at the airport ... he was due to fly out to NYC at 1:55pm but has since been delayed to 3:25pm. With all that snow on the East Coast, I'm hoping his flight gets cancelled altogether and he has to stay another night with me. Next weekend, he is flying off to Thailand for 10 days ... which will make it very difficult for us to talk while he's away.

I have some tiding up to do around here this afternoon and I think I'm gonna take in a movie tonight. The weather has gotten a bit chilly here ... which is perfect for movie watching. I hope y'all are having a great weekend ... I am out.
