You Betta Work!

Happy Labor Day, bitches! For those of you here in the US, I sincerely hope you're not inside reading this ... I hope you're out enjoying the last "official" day of Summer before all y'all have to either go back to work or go back to school. I used to get really depressed when Labor Day rolled around because, living in Michigan, it really did sound the death knell for Summer. But living in LA, I have a couple more months left of the warm days ahead ... Woot! In any regard, even tho I shouldn't be working today, let's do a quick short post so that those of you tied to computers today can get a quick fix and I can get out and enjoy the day :)

Here are a couple pics of Britney Spears arriving back home in LA mid-Saturday afternoon after spending the entire night in Las Vegas for the grand opening of the LAX nightclub at the Luxor Hotel and Casino on Friday night:

Yeah, the pics aren't all that exciting but they do prove that Britney didn't just breeze thru Vegas on Friday night ... she may have only stayed a short bit at LAX but she managed to spend the entire night (a portion of which with Criss Angel) in town. So now the countdown is on for Sunday September 9th when Britney takes the stage to perform at the 2007 MTV VMAs at the Palms Hotel and Casino right back in Las Vegas. I've been hearing some pretty cool things about her upcoming performance, which I'll keep quiet on so as not to ruin the surprise, and I must say, it sounds like it is going to be freakin' killer. I can't wait :) [Source]

While Brit Brit was doin' her thang in Vegas, her ex-hubby Kevin Federline was bizzy doing his own thing in Scottsdale, AZ. Pink reader Annalis was in the hiz at the Jackrabbit Lounge where she ran into K-Fed partying it up. Here is a pic of The Federline trying to mack on one of the chicks outside the club:

Apparently this impressionable girl in the photo was happy to give K-Fed her phone number. Blech. Incidentally, Annalis tells me that the Jackrabbit Lounge is the same place where Britney was spotted making out with footballer Matt Leinhart a few months back -- man, that place sees all the hot action! [thanks Annalis]

HMMMMM ... I wonder where Sean Preston and Jayden James were this weekend?

Back in Vegas, Justin Timberlake was getting his party on (well away from Britney at LAX) at Jet nightclub for the official after-party of his sold out concert in town. Here are a few pics that show the progression of JT's inebriation as the night wore on:

I'm not sure if JT ended up giving it up to Timbaland by night's end ... but he looks pretty damn near close in this last pic ;) [Source]

Don't forget to tune into HBO tonight to watch Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveShow concert taped earlier this Summer at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

Here are a few amazing pics of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt amping up the glitz and glamour of Hollywood on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival over the weekend for the world premiere of Brad's new movie The Assassination of Jesse James:

Absent the fact that Angelina's arms look entirely too skinny (like, really skinny) the couple do really look great together on the red carpet. Brad is lookin' very Cary Grant in his white tuxedo jacket ... and of course he has to give the paps the requisite "hand on the ass" shot along the way. Hahaha ... love it! [Source]

Oh and by the way, I was wondering yesterday if the Brangelina Boys, Maddox and Pax Thien, were brought along for the trip to Venice (since only Zahara and Shiloh Nouvel were photographed in yesterday's pics) and it turns out that yes, indeed, the entire family made the trip to Europe for the film fest:

If Brad and Ange are really serious about getting to work on baby #5 then they're gonna hafta get a bigger boat next year ... this one looks like it couldn't handle one more member of the Brangelina brood without tipping over. [Source]

In the wake of the sad news of the break-up of Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger come these new pics of Michelle out and about with a friend in Brooklyn, NY sporting a darker hair color and a new lease on life:

Boo. It's always a bummer when a celeb couple breaks up but I think this break-up is especially sad. Now we're gonna see pics of Heath and Michelle juggling their daughter Matilda Rose from week to week just like we see Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe do with their kids. Blah ... I would hope that there is a chance at a reconciliation but if things have been rocky for some time now (as the report states) then I'm sure they're prolly pretty dunzo if they're making the official announcement :( [Source]

Owen Wilson has been finally released from the hospital and was driven home by members of his family over the weekend so that he can continue to recuperate under strict watch in the comforts of his own home ... happily, according to Owen's good friend Wes Anderson, he is doing well:

Owen Wilson canceled appearances at the Venice Film Festival but is "doing well" and "making us laugh a lot," says his longtime friend Wes Anderson. "When he's ready he's going to speak for himself much better than anyone else could," Anderson told reporters in Venice on Sunday. "He has a very good way with words." Wilson, 38, was hospitalized Aug. 26 after what a police log called an attempted suicide. He returned home over the weekend under close watch by family and friends. Anderson was in Venice promoting the film he directed, The Darjeeling Limited, featuring Wilson with Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman as three brothers taking a train trip across India. Wilson originally was due to appear in Venice ... Anderson added: "We all miss having him here very much. Obviously he's been through a lot this week but he's doing well and he's been making us laugh a lot." Yeah, the last thing that Owen Wilson needs to be doing right now is flying around the world going to parties. Hopefully he'll be able to spend as much time as possible at home in the care of his family until he's really ready to face the world again. Get well soon, Owen!! [Source]

Mariah Carey, on the other hand, is ripe to get back into the party scene after being out of the limelight for the past year or so. Here are a few amazing pics of Mimi all decked out for Diddy's annual Labor Day weekend White Party this weekend:

I hope this new emergence of her Miminess means that she has got some new music to release on the very near future. Clearly her hoots are primed and ready for action ... it is so great to have her back. [Source]

Here are a few more pictures from Maggie Gyllenhaal's Agent Provocateur ad campaign:

The pics are sexy and all ... but upon further inspection, I find the make-up to be really heavy. She looks a bit drag-queenish in a couple of the pics (hello, turban). I get that she's going for a classic Hollywood (Clara Bow) meets current S&M (The Secretary) feel with these pics but I wish they'd gone a little less with all the make-up overall. [Source]

And finally, the Teletubbies are celebrating their 10th birthday this year and left their home of TubbyLand to pose for pics in the UK this weekend:

You may recall that Tinky Winky (the purple one) bravely came out as a prominent media figure who was proud to be seen with his big red purse long before actors like Lance Bass and Neil Patrick Harris dared be seen in public with thier favorite accessories (their boyfriends). Tinky Winky came under heavy fire from the late Jerry Falwell for his "alternative lifestyle" and lives on today as the victor. Congrats to Tinky Winky and all the Teletubbies on the occasion of their 10th anniversary this year! [Source]

Les News:
Yesterday was pretty chill ... I spent the afternoon watching Kimora Lee: Life in the Fab Lane with a box of White Cheddar Cheese-Its (don't hate) before I met up with Jordan for dinner at Ketchup. We had an amazing 50% off meal (which is quite a coup since Ketchup is pretty pricey to begin with). It was during dinner that Jordan talked me into making the trek down to Laguna Beach so that we could party at the Boom Boom Room one last time before it closes its doors forever tonight.

We made the drive in pretty good time and found the place an utter madhouse. It was crazy crowded and INSANELY hot inside but we made the most of it. We met up with Jordan's friend Chad and I ran into my friend Art and we all proceeded to sweat our asses off for the rest of the night ... tho, we did manage to find the only small section of the bar that was air-conditioned and we we kept flocking back to that one spot in front of the vent all night long. Jordan ended up crashing in town but I had to get back home to LA so that I could work this morning. Goss waits for no man.

Let me send a fond Peace the Spork Out to the Boom Boom Room ... it will be sorely missed. Whatever will the Laguna gays do for entertainment any more?

Tonight the gang is meeting up for dinner and a movie as we bid a sad farewell to the long Labor Day weekend ...

So ... I guess that is all. I'm out.
