Constant Craving

Happy Leap Day, y'all! I hadn't realized that this year was a Leap Year until earlier this week when I started seeing stuff about today being Leap Day. I guess I should remember that the Summer Olympics always coincide with Leap Years but ... ah well. Maybe I'll remember in 2012. In any regard, today is a special day for those of you born on February 29th (like Pink reader Dee who is celebrating a birthday today) and for the folks in the Michigan city of Hell (yes, Hell is the real name of a city in Michigan) area who are getting married today:

"It's a cold day in Hell," said John Colone. "It's time to get married." Two weeks ago, the 63-year-old Hell resident came up with the idea of hosting a free leap day wedding celebration for couples who might need a little push down the aisle. He is even providing a minister and grab bags containing champagne and chocolate for those who decide to take the leap on leap day. "Marriage today is a tough job, you have to eat, sleep and think it 24 hours a day," Colone said. "There's not a lot of humor in life and we're giving some humor to folks." Colone, owner of Screams Ice Cream & Halloween Store in Hell, hoped the event would bring couples together while playing up the name of the nationally recognized Michigan town. Upon hearing of the event in Hell, located in Livingston County, Colone was flooded with calls from people from as far away as Tennessee and Florida. "We had to turn people down," Colone said. "Just about as many as we will marry today." Ann Jarema, a nondenominational Christian minister, will be performing 29 weddings and six marriage vow renewals in the chapel today. The Pinckney resident has been performing weddings since 1992 and works at 50-100 each year. Colone, who will celebrate his 40th anniversary next month, said the event appeals to couples who might want to skip the traditional wedding frills. Of course, some traditions still apply. Couples are still expected to obtain the necessary marriage license, which takes at least three days to obtain following the application process. The Hell weddings are interesting in themselves and people come out because it's a cute spot," said Jarema, 51. The first time Jarema performed a marriage in the Hell chapel was on 06/06/06. The quaint chapel, which Colone built two years ago, accommodates around 10 people and features a question mark atop the steeple. Today, the chapel will see one wedding every 20 minutes. Jarema thinks today's leap day ceremonies are a memorable way to commemorate the leap year and celebrate love. Today, she will even marry a couple that got engaged 29 years ago today. "It's a great way to shrug off convention, but we have people who are just as serious about the event as I," Jarema said. When asked if a leap year wedding will increase the odds of forgetting an anniversary, which would occur only once every four years, Colone simply said: "No, it's just a guy thing."

Hahahhahaha! I love it! Much congrats to all the folks who are getting hitched in Hell, MI today. And just to clarify, the way I understand it, Hell got its name back in the days of prohibition because the city was known for not adhering to the laws against alcohol creation and consumption (altho, Wikipedia lists other explanations for the city name). In any event, Happy Leap Day to all y'all in Hell and elsewhere in the world!!! [Source]

Here are a few new pictures of Jamie-Lynn Spears out and about in her hometown of Kentwood, LA sportin' a pretty non-existent baby bump as she runs a few errands around town ... one errand being the search for a new home for her, her baby and babydaddy Casey Aldridge (??) to live in once she pops:

JL doesn't leave her home anymore unless she's wearing an oversized sweatshirt, which is a great way to hide a baby bump ... but I really expected her to be a little further along in her pregnancy. I don't even know why I'm complaining, I'm not really relishing the idea of seeing little Jamie-Lynn Spears walking around with a huge, pregnant belly. Man, kids grow up so fast these days. Okay ... so I have to say that last night's ep of Lost was pretty good but I'm suffering from this love/hate relationship with the ep. Thus far, the season has kicked all ass ... the eps have returned to that good ol' mysterious confusion that made it a hit back in '04 but something about last night's ep pushed it all a little too far over the line for me. I always bristle when time travel is introduced into TV shows (especially ones where producers have SWORN that there would be a logical explanation for everything that occurs) but, if done properly, this new development may turn out very cool ... or may make the show jump the shark again (like it did at the beginning of last season):

First off, lemme just get out all the stuff that I didn't like. Because the season is so short (due to the Writer's Strike), I feel like last night's ep was rushed a bit ... there was WAY TOO MUCH explanation crammed into a short amount of time which made the time shifting stuff feel a little dumb to me. When Desmond shifted back in time (to 1996) and just went to Oxford to find Dan the professor (merely because he was told to by some guy on a satellite phone that he didn't remember at all) and then all that biz with the fried mouse named Eloise (who also jumped between time and then died cuz it couldn't handle the effects of time shifting an hour), well, I was kind of just rolling my eyes. It doesn't make sense how Desmond could remember some things about Dan Farady (like what he looks like, for example) and nothing at all about Sayid, the island, etc. But, I had to just go with it (cutting a lot of slack since the season had to be condensed) and ended up liking the story overall (the talking to Penny bit from the ship on Xmas eve was also a bit much to stomach but, I went with it). As long as the time shift stuff doesn't spread beyond Desmond, I'll be cool (tho I suspect that Dan Farady may end up shifting at some point ... where he'll have to rely on Desmond as his constant). There isn't enough info about the time shifting (or maybe too much info) to get all mired in it just yet so I'll let it be for now. There were other things that popped up that I loved in the classic Lost sense ... like the auctioning of the ledger from the Black Rock ship (which also crashed on the island many years before ... the one that contained all the dynamite) which was owned by the Hanso family (creators of the Dharma Initiative) and was purchased by Mr. Widmore (Penny's father). Could there be something in the numbers that were revealed during the auction? The ledger item number was 2342 and Widmore's bidder number was 755. Wait, I'm prolly over thinking too much now (damn the time travel ... it messes with your head). I want more ... I need this ep to make more sense cuz I'm afraid if things get too complicated, too confusing I'll lose interest ... tho, Pink reader Nicole send me a link to THIS site which seems to have a pretty thorough explanation of what may be going on on the island. Pink reader Suz sends in THIS site which is similar in scope but a bit different in theory. I gotta say, the theory is well thought out and pretty well explained ... who knows if it has any merit but it's worth a look if this time travel stuff is effing with your head. I have to say that my hat is off to the Lost producers this year ... they are really giving us a lot to chew on ... I just hope they tread carefully and not push us away (like they did for the first half of last season) ... things are too good this time around for another disappointment. [Source, Source]

Extra! Extra! This just in ... Brad Pitt got himself a haircut which he showed off on the set of his new movie The Tree of Life which is currently filming in Texas ... here are a few pics:

I don't know that I love the Billy Bob Thornton Sling Blade meets Tom Hanks Forrest Gumpness of the look but leave it to Brad to want to rock a look like this in a movie. I just know that he takes on roles like this in the hopes that one of them may lead to the Academy Awards. Don't they say that pretty people who get ugly in movies tend to win Oscars? I guess we'll see. [Source]

Yesterday news broke world wide that Prince Harry had been stationed in Afghanistan for the past couple of months where he was serving in active duty and then word came that he was already being shipped back to England for his own safety. Here are a few pics of Prince Hottie Harry all gussied up in his military garb lookin' like a bad-ass with his big gun, his big tank and his big friends:

Prince Harry was tonight preparing to pull out of Afghanistan as the Taliban threatened more attacks in the face of what it has described as "aggression against Muslims". According to a Taliban spokesman, the prince's presence in Helmand province is a direct sign of the British Royal Family's stance against Muslims and warned it would merely encourage further insurgent attacks against British soldiers. Zabihullah Mujahid said: "Prince Harry's presence in Afghanistan encourages our fighters to launch more attacks on British forces. "The Royal Family is now directly participating in the aggression against Muslims" ... There are also fears that Prince Harry will be targeted by Islamic jihadists when he returns to Britain and he has been warned to stay away from his favourite London nightclubs. He could be back home as early as tomorrow following the decision by military chiefs to withdraw him from the front line immediately. But sources say they fear he could now become the "number one target" for terrorist cells in Britain, having spent 10 weeks fighting the Taliban. He is expected to be ordered back to the Household Cavalry barracks at Windsor and to keep a low profile over the coming weeks even though in an interview in Afghanistan he declared: "I don't want to sit around in Windsor." The prince faces being banned from his favourite nightclubs including Boujis, Amika and Mahiki while security is stepped up to the highest level around him. Late nights at the clubs were a fixture in his social life before his deployment but are now seen by senior officers in Scotland Yard as too high risk. In a statement released today the MoD said that the decision to remove Harry from Afghanistan was 'regrettable'. Military chiefs are now making final preparations to remove the prince from the front line and fly him back to Britain.

I love that the Taliban is now all pissed off just because they *just* found out that Prince Harry was ever in Afghanistan -- LOL! I also love how the Daily Mail, where this report comes from, is trying to make an issue of how "dangerous" it will be for Harry to go to his favorite nightclubs -- double LOL! I, for one, thinks is admirable for Harry to put himself in harm's way just to serve his country. Granted, he was prolly heavily protected (more so than any other regular solider) but still ... for him to even want to take on such a dangerous mission is pretty rad in my book. Plus, Harry makes a hawt soldier, which I also quite like :) [Source]

Could it possibly be that Brody Jenner has finally run out of female companionship (most probably because he's already hooked up with every single girl on the planet) and has to now resort to enjoying the company of men in his leisure time?

Blah ... this hottie who is dining with Brody is prolly just one of his bros or something ... surely, nothing at all could be going on betwixt them ... right? [Source]

In other male-to-male lurve news, Torchwood star and all-around openly gay heart-throb John Barrowman is proudly introducing the world to the new man in his life, his new pooch Captain Jack (named for his character on Torchwood), in these adorable pics:

OMG ... can't you just die! They make a really adorable couple and I just *love* what the little pup is wearing. It's really very fetch. I hope these two will be happy together forever. [Source]

Janet Jackson was the guest on CNN's Larry King Live last night where she taught Larry some dance moves, broke some news about her "dream tour", the Hollywood "It" Girls, her weight struggles and another semi-interesting personal information. Here are a few caps from her appearance last night:

This may open a whole new career for Larry King: dipping instead of dishing. The suspendered CNN interviewer, 74, gets a lesson in how to dance from Janet Jackson, 41, on his show Thursday night. She shakes; he quakes. (For a glimpse of their fancy footwork, click HERE.) "Okay Janet, show me a trick," says King as he readies for his lesson."I don't know what I am doing," he adds as Ms. Jackson giggles and patiently shows him a few moves while her new music video is screened behind them. "What is this called?" he asks about one rigorous step. "The Dance of the Video," she says. He also wonders if this is how Gene Kelly got started. You be the judge.

Janet also revealed that keeps trying to get her brothers, The Jackson 5, to do a reunion tour so that she could open up for them. I find it hard that the Jacksons can get it together enough to actually embark on a tour of this magnitude (especially since she reveals that Michael Jackson is "on the fence" about a reunion tour since he is trying to focus on his [non-existent] solo career) but, you never know. Janet's interview is a fascinating read (in case you missed seeing it live last night) which you can check out in its entirety HERE. [Source, Source]

Here are the rest of the People magazine photos of mama Nicole Richie, papa Joel Madden and their little angel Harlow Winter from this week's issue which is on newsstands now:

Squeeeeeee these pics are so cute. That baby looks so much like Joel, I can't even stand it ... they make the absolute cutest little family ever. I wish them nothing but a lifetime of health, happiness and lurve :) I've already purchased 3 copies of this issue of People magazine -- it's a deffo keeper. [Source]

Incidentally, as far as we know officially, Nicole and Joel have not gotten married despite the fact that they are wearing matching rings. Unless they got hitched on the downlow, I don't believe that they got married ... yet :)

Madonna is featured on the cover of the new issue of Dazed and Confused magazine wherein she talks about her new album Hard Candy and about her invincibility and all the roles she plays while recording an album. The photos were shot by Steven Klein, natch:

"I have moments where I feel incredibly invincible and know that I have the audience in my hand… and then I have panic attacks, where I feel like everyone is breathing my air, and I might just die on stage" – Madonna

In the April issue of the magazine, out March 13th, undisputed heavyweight champ of reinvention Madonna talks exclusively to Dazed & Confused's Jefferson Hack about her latest incarnation. In her first interview about her new album Hard Candy, worked on with Justin Timberlake, Pharrell, and Timbaland, Madonna discusses her many different, and occasionally contradictory, roles – as performer and provocateur, mother and artist, style icon and campaigner. Photographed by long-time collaborator Steven Klein, the queen of pop looks as uncompromising, tough and sexy as ever.

Great pics, I can't wait to see more. I am so intrigued by this new album ... it's been shrouded in so much mystery for so long ... I just hope my expectations aren't too high. Madonna has an uncanny way of meeting expectations so I'm not worried ... much. [Source]

Popbytes scored the full V magazine photospread featuring Gwen Stefani in their new issue ... check it out:

I really like this magazine cover more than the firt one that we saw ... but the shoot is really very cool. I love the avant-gardeness of it ... it's edgy but not over the top. Gwen, much like Madonna and Kylie Minogue, is able to really transform herself seemingly effortlessly from one look to the next. It's always a treat to see what new look Gwen comes up with from time to time. [Source via Source]

Lindsay Lohan is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Paper magazine:

These pics aren't quite as interesting as her Marilyn Monroe pics in New York magazine but you gotta give her snaps for posing with a jackhammer. It's a look. [Source]

Justin Timberlake is really taking this acting thing pretty seriously ... here are a few screencaps from the trailer of his new movie The Love Guru:

Porn 'stache + bikini briefs + karate moves = someone really bringing SexyBack. I'm sure this movie will be absolutely horrible ... but I know I'm gonna have to see it anyways. [Source]

First came Flavor Flav ... then came New York ... then came Tila Tequila ... and now ... THIS:

OY ... you just know that Domenico is going to be a big star. I weep for this world. [Source]

And finally ... you may remember Alan Ritchson from his short stint on American Idol (where he was better known for his abs rather than his signing) ... or you may remember him from his short stint on Smallville as Aquaman (ymmo!) ... but I'm sure you won't soon for get his not so short anything as featured in this new campaign for N2N Underwear:

Click above to see larger, semi-NSFW images

Don't you just love a renaissance man? What can't this man accomplish. See folks, you, too, can achieve your dreams ... reach for the stars. I gotta say, I think I am more a fan of Alan's modeling prowess than anything else ... he has some great assets :) [Source]

Les News:
Last night I got to meet up with my friend Kirsten from Detroit who is in town this week vacating here in SoCal. I hadn't been able to see her for some time now (not since Zakiya's first birthday party) so I jumped at the chance to meet up. I met her and her friend Dreolin for dinner at Rambutan Thai in Silverlake:

It was really very cool getting to spend time with her again ... we got on as if no time had passed at all. We did get to catch up with one another which was very fun.

After dinner, I made my way to the airport to pick up David who arrived from NYC. He is spending the weekend here in Cali ... we are heading down to San Diego tomorrow to celebrate his friend Diana's birthday. It'll be a bizzy weekend, I'm sure.

I hope y'all have a great weekend ... and enjoy today .. you won't be able to enjoy another Feb. 29 for another 4 years!

I'm out!!

And Then There Were 3 ...

Mama Lynne Spears is back in SoCal this week after spending the last week or so back in Kentwood, LA where she was keeping an eye on her youngest (and very pregnant) daughter Jamie-Lynn Spears ... but her first visit wasn't to see her eldest (and very tragic but getting better) daughter Britney Spears -- her first visit was to the Federline manse in Tarzana, CA to spend some time with her grandyoung'ns Sean Preston and Jayden James. Here are a couple of supercute pics of Mama Lynne with the boys' nanny and the boys themselves rockin' a couple of new haircuts:

First off, could these little boys look any cuter? The haircuts are to die for ... they are just too adorable for words. Secondly, my hat is off to Mama Lynne Spears for all the hard work she's been doing for her family in recent months. There is much criticism over the way she has handled things in her family's life (most recently, the decision to sell the story and first photos of JL's unplanned pregnancy to a tabloid magazine) but it can't be easy for her to have a handle on every single thing that happens in her family. She needs to be in Kentwood to look after JL, then she has to be in LA to look after Britney and her sons ... I bet it's very stressful. Whether you agree with her decisions or not, it seems clear that she really does have her family's best interests at heart. She seems committed to doing what she needs to do for her family ... I just hope all of her efforts are not for naught. [Source]

In Britney news, here is a picture of Britney posing with a group of kids that she spent some time with recently when she taught them a dance class at the Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood, CA:

The picture is very cute and was taken during the time period that Britney was not allowed to see her own children ... you can tell she looks happy to be spending time with these kids. You can see the "good ol' Britney" in this pic ... if anything, it further fortifies my belief that she can get her life back to normal again one day :) [Source]

So ... the good news is that we got a brand new episode of Project Runway last night ... the bad news is that it was pretty much a throw-away ep that could have been absorbed into a real 2-hour season finale (like they've done in previous years) but was presented as its own stand-alone ep. The ep was good, I have to say, but prolonging the finale is driving me CRAZY! That being said ... I really did enjoy the ep .. partly because we got to see kiddie pics of the top 4 designers:

OMG ... I love Chritian's baby pics ... he looks so cute -- I'm not sure how I feel about the visor tho. Jillian looks pretty much the same ... it's too bad she wasn't a gothkid in high school or anything like that ... that would've been really cool. I was shocked to see Rami with hair. I think he looks much better with hair ... but it's unclear if he shaves his head because he likes the look or because he started to lose his hair. Chris ... ah, Chris ... I found it a bit funny that his baby pics are so old they are in black and white. He was a cutey tho ... and at least his image wasn't etched into stone tablets.

But anyways ... back to the ep ... the almost final showdown pitted Rami vs. Chris for the final spot of the competition and it really came as no surprise that Rami ended up winning the right to show at New York Fashion Week in competition (remember, the top 5 designers got to show at Bryant Park earlier this month but only 3 of them were in the final competition). Chris came up with some very inventive designs but, over all, Rami's designs were a bit better ... they were more worthy of the #3 spot:

C'mon Chris ... crushed velvet and human hair? I get that he was trying to be creative but if you have to describe your collection as "creepy" you're prolly not going to inspire many people to want to wear your clothes (and hello, he made Tim Gunn practically gag on air with all that human hair he had sewn into his clothes). Rami took a few risks too (well, maybe not risks so much as mistakes) but his craftsmanship was superb. I knew all along that he was going to be the third person. To be fair, Nina Garcia said some very nice things to Chris when she was offering her critique (that is, after she had to express how she was really feeling thru her facial expressions) saying that his designs were unique and creative. All in all, the whole ep was a big build-up for the next-to-last showdown ... and Rami proved he deserved to go to Bryant Park. [Source]

And so ... since Chris's full collection will not be shown on next week's finale ep of Project Runway, here is a short video clip that I shot at the Project Runway Finale Fashion Show in The Tent at Bryant Park earlier this month at New York Fashion Week of the final walk-thru of all of Chris's designs that showed that day:

To be completely honest, I wasn't grossed out by Chris's designs when they showed that day ... even with all that hair. I didn't like the crushed velvet pieces but over all, I liked the collection as a whole. He may have been my least fave of the 5 collections that showed that day but I was still impressed with what he showed.

In Madonna news, earlier this week we learned that Madonna's new album was given a title (Hard Candy) and a release date (April 29) and today we get to see what the official (yet tentative) tracklist for the album is by way of an Aussie radio DJ who was allowed to preview the album in its entirety ... check it out:

Here is a report from the DJ, Sonia, who got to check out the album:

As I write I'm in between having just listened to Madonna's yet-to-be-released album and actually interviewing her. I quite enjoyed the new album – lots of songs that are relationship-based and there's this one particular track which is a classic dance track. The first single "4 Minutes" has a great marching band feel to it – loved it! All the tracks have fantastic energy and there's not a single track on the album that's not a winner – brilliant stuff. The single will be released in late March and the album hits stores on the 29th of April. f you were listening this morning you may have picked up that I left half-an-hour before the end of the show (sorry Todd!) -- I had to rush over to Madonna's hotel to listen to the album. All up we spent around an hour with Madonna's PA who played us the whole 12 tracks.

Yay! Sounds like it's good stuff ... but we'll have to wait and judge for ourselves. As I've been saying ... I'm cautiously optimistic that the album will be amazing -- I'm concerned that it'll sound like a typical Timbaland album but still, I trust that Madonna is smart enough to not put out a generic-sounding album. [Source, thanks Kevin]

In baby news, the Daily Mail is reporting that Brad Pitt has confirmed that his wife girlfriend babymama Angelina Jolie is, indeed, pregs with twins ... er, at least that he was overheard telling someone that she is pregs with twins ... which is pretty much good enough for me so yay!

Angelina Jolie is pregnant with twins, her partner Brad Pitt has confirmed to friends. After weeks of silence on the subject, Jolie's rounded belly on the red carpet of the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday confirmed she was expecting. Coinciding with Jolie's bump debut, excited dad Pitt has begun telling friends about their impending arrivals, the Mail Online has learned. The couple are already adoptive parents to Cambodian Maddox, six; Ethiopian Zahara, three; and Vietnamese Pax Thien, four; and have a biological daughter Shiloh Nouvel, 21 months. In preparation for the birth this summer, Pitt has been rescheduling his work so he has enough time to spend with Jolie and the children. A friend of the couple tells the Mail Online: "Brad's been very quiet about this pregnancy so far but this was the weekend he decided to let the cat out of the bag. He's telling everybody close to him, because he's having to change around his work schedule to get ready for the birth. They're having twins, Angelina is healthy, and he's thrilled that he's going to be a father once again. They didn't exactly plan this pregnancy, but they wanted more children and Brad says Angelina was very willing to have them herself" ... The friend said: "They want to have these children in Los Angeles or New Orleans. I don't think Brad wants to isolate himself and the family again like he did when Shiloh was born. But he's also probably not going to take on a major acting role before the birth either, so he can focus on making sure Angelina is happy, healthy and comfortable." Pitt will have a tough time balancing his work schedule with family life this year - he's signed up to star in five films, as well as produce seven other movies. Jolie's pregnancy has ended recent reports the couple were planning to adopt another child to add their rapidly expanding brood.

While I'm sure that Brangelina is ecstatic to be expanding their family, I'm sure the kids they have already aren't necessarily as thrilled as they are. After all, 2 more babies means that the Brangelina inheritance gets cut into some more ... even tho that inheritance is ginormous, it still means less for the other kids. I wouldn't be surprised if the other kids started offing each other. If we hear of a "horrible tricycle accident" occurring at day care, I think we'll know what's really going on there. Yeah, Zahara ... I'm talking to you! [Source]

Here are a few pics of David Beckham at a press conference which was held at the Westin Chosun in Seoul, South Korea to promote the Morotola RAZR2 V8 Luxury Edition mobile phone:

Mariah Carey is hard at work to promote her new single and video Touch My Body from her new album E=MC2 by making the rounds all over NYC this week ... here are a few pics from Mimi's visit to MTV's TRL yesterday (with her geeky vid co-star):

And here are a few pics of Mimi's visit to BET's 106 & Park (with only her bad self):

I think I liked her BET outfit much better than her MTV outfit (the red shoes do nothing for me). I quite like her new song but it took a few listens for me to get into it. The You Tube shout-out is a bit lame but the song is catchy ... I can't wait to hear what the rest of the album sounds like. Janet Jackson released her new album this week, then Mariah releases her album in April right before Madonna releases her album ... it's gonna be an all-out diva war. I wonder who's gonna make it on top. [Source]

The weather here in SoCal has finally started heating up and I couldn't be more pleased. Temps. got into the 80s yesterday which meant that it was time to put away those hoodies and sweaters and time to unpack the t-shirts and shorts ... or in some cases, the short shorts:

Clearly, Lindsay Lohan was looking for the first chance to wear as little as possible and yesterday was the day ... as she attended one of her AA meetings and then attended one of her court-mandated driving classes. She also made yesterday the day to start showing off her diamond encrusted LL ring. Hot! I'm so glad the warm weather has finally come to town ... not that I'm all that interested in seeing L. Lo wear short shorts ... I'm more looking forward to wearing short shorts of my own :) [Source]

Well now ... it would seem that Amy Winehouse is having no problem finding dudes to hang out with while her husband Blake Civil-Fielder rots in jail on the charge that he attempted to pervert justice. First, Amy was hanging out with some other guy named Blake ... and now she's hanging out with an even newer guy named Alex who looks like her Blake (only more clean-cut and, um, clean) and is the man responsible for creating her trademark beehive hairdo:

Photo credit: Splash News and Mr. Paparazzi

Amy Winehouse emerged from rehab earlier this month looking better than ever, but less than three weeks on it appears the star has resumed her destructive lifestyle. The 24-year-old singer's was back to her bizarre antics last night as she made a late night run for a sugar fix at her local store, later roaming around London's Camden with just one shoe on. She was joined by celebrity hairdresser Alex Foden, the man responsible for her trademark beehive, and earlier, she'd spent the evening with 'Good Blake' - also known as teetotal photographer Blake Wood. It comes amid reports the Rehab singer is back on drugs as she struggles to cope with the absence of husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who has been in Pentonville Prison since November. Amy, who recently five Grammy Awards, is also said to self-harming again and last night she was seen with fresh red marks on her upper arm.

Hmmm ... she is sure finding lots of fun ways (and lots of fun company) to help pass the time while her husband languishes in jail. I'm *sure* he'll be happy to know that his Amy is being well taken care of while he sits in jail. [Source, Source]

Alas ... married to a superfamous, superbuxom celebrity one day ...

... and roaming the streets alone the next day. Life can be so cruel. [Source]

Last week, Aaron Carter was arrested in Texas for reckless driving and marijuana possession ... this week we finally get to see his mug shot and hear the tale as told by the local news paper:

A pop star spent a night behind bars last week, courtesy of the taxpayers of Kimble County. Sheriff's Deputy Billy Hull stopped Aaron Carter, 20, on Interstate 10 about noon on Thursday, February 21. Carter was driving a gold, 2009 Cadillac Escalade, carrying two pit bulls as passengers, when he was stopped and ticketed for speeding. When Hull discovered marijuana in Carter's vehicle, he arrested and jailed the young man, charging him with possession of marijuana, less than two ounces. Carter was magistrated at 9 the next morning by County Judge Delbert Roberts, where he entered no plea to the Class B misdemeanor and was released on a $2,000 bond. He was whisked away from the county jail by Deputy Hull to retrieve his dogs at a prearranged meeting behind the City Offices. Animal Control officer Carolyn Moore delivered Carter's dogs to him there. Carter was spotted later at CarQuest purchasing a new battery for his Escalade and signing autographs for a few fans. According to Kimble County Sheriff Mike Chapman, Carter had been pulled over for speeding on the Interstate through Kimble County, about three months ago. During his stay in Junction, city and county law officers worked together to make sure Carter was escorted around town with as little fanfare as possible. Once outside the county jail, two individuals who were not with Carter when he was stopped, a young male friend of Carter's and a woman identified as Carter's publicist, were aggressive in attempting to screen Carter from being photographed ... Various reports were circulating that Carter was bound for a home in Austin or to visit his father in Atlanta. According to published reports, a statement released by the singer's manager to Entertainment Tonight, said: "On his way to Florida bringing his two dogs to live on a large ranch, Aaron Carter was detained in Texas by a trooper for exceeding the speed limit by 5 mph. A search revealed a small amount of marijuana, a misdemeanor in this state. He sincerely regrets any embarrassment this caused to his family, friends and fans."

And there you have it ... Aaron Carter's first brush with the law. Why do I have a hard time believing that it will be his last. [Source]

Hayden Panettiere is featured on the cover of the new issue of Seventeen magazine and in her interview she talks about why things didn't work out with her ex-boyfriend Stephen Coletti and what it feels like to be wanted by the police for standing up for what you believe in:

Hayden Panettiere is opening up about why she ended her romance with Laguna Beach alum Stephen Colletti. "I just knew I wanted to breathe," Panettiere, 18, says in the April issue of Seventeen. "I wanted to be single at the time. It just hit me like a ton of bricks: This is the time I need to be with myself. It takes such a secure person to be with someone like me—it takes so much confidence; it takes so much trust." Panettiere found a way to spend her time alone: campaigning for whales. A warrant was out for her arrest in Japan after she interfered in a dolphin hunt last year. "There's very little that scares me," she tells Seventeen. "I've always been a physical person. And I feel like a lot of time in this industry, a lot of people loan their face to a cause, which is great, but it doesn't do as much as getting out there and actually physically doing something." Panettiere doesn't apologize for being so outspoken. "I don't need to prove myself to anyone," she says. "I'm not that kind of person. I know myself much better now than I did [before]," she goes on. "And my opinions of things and my morals -- I am not as easily swayed as I used to be. And when you learn to accept yourself, the more you learn to be okay with yourself and know yourself, the easier it is to love somebody and allow them to love you."

Yeah, yeah, yeah ... this is all well and good but I think we really want to dirt. What is going on with Milo Ventimiglia? Will be hearing wedding bells soon? Could a baby be on the way? This is the stuff that we need, damnit! [Source]

Here is the full cover photo of the new issue of People magazine which features our very first look at Harlow Winter Madden posing with her mommy Nicole Richie:

PEOPLE has your first look at Nicole Richie and her daughter Harlow, born Jan. 11 in L.A. Richie, 26, and her boyfriend Joel Madden, 28, open up to PEOPLE about how parenthood has changed their lives – and the happy couple pose for an exclusive family photo album with their daughter (the latest issue of PEOPLE is on newsstands Friday). Says Richie of life with Harlow: "She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose."

Again, I love this pic ... I can't wait to see more. This is one of my favorite People magazine covers ... and, apparently, it's well loved by the folks at Best Week Ever, too. [Source]

"Goodbye, My Friend"

Uh-oh ... I don't like the tale that these new pictures of Britney Spears seem to be telling ... while on a little shopping jaunt to the Levi's store in Beverly Hills, CA yesterday, Brit Brit stepped up to face the amassed throng of photogs who were photographing her every move and she seemed to be inspecting the merch -- as if she were trying to determine which one she might pick out of the crowd to take home with her:

It looks as if she might be having a hard time staying on the wagon. Perhaps if her father and conservator, Papa Jamie Spears, were to accompany her on these shopping trips then he might be better able to curb her cravings. The last thing she needs to be doing is hanging out with the paparazzi again. In positive news, the court as thrown out the claim that Britney's case needs to be moved to the federal court system, which means that jurisdiction will remain here in LA, on a local level. It would appear that Osama Sam Lutfi is quickly running out of tricks and is learning that he may never get to dig his claws into our dear Britney again. I think this deserves a Woot! Woot! [Source]

Toronto, Canada was the site of the very last Spice Girls concert ever last night as Les Spices brought to a close their much anticipated, much hyped Spice Girls Reunion Tour at the Air Canada Centre. Here are a few pics from last night's final Spice Girls concert:

"Goodbye girls." The hot pink sign near the edge of the stage said it all, as the Spice Girls wrapped up their reunion tour last night at the Air Canada Centre, their fourth date with the city after capacity shows at the ACC Feb. 3 and 4, and Monday. It was an emotional farewell, with Emma Bunton (Baby), Victoria Beckham (Posh), Melanie Brown (Scary), Geri Halliwell (Ginger) and Mel Chisholm (Sporty) gathering at for a group hug and individual embraces as the show went on. For the first – and probably last – time Bunton, Brown and Beckham brought their children onstage near the end of the 95-minute concert. To the delight of the crowd, Beckham's youngest son, Cruz, wearing a "Posh Spice" T-shirt and red baseball cap, demonstrated some fledgling breakdance moves. "I just got to say, as you know, this is the last night of the tour and we never dreamt we'd ever back together and be such a success and who knows if we'll ever get back together again," said Halliwell. While the quintet delivered their "girl power," the near-capacity crowd delivered ear-ringing lung power as the Spice Girls closed their final performance with "Spice Up Your Life." Rumours of backbiting and behind-the-scenes fighting have trickled out – and been denied – since Dec. 2, when the reunion tour began in Vancouver. Chisholm publicly called rumours of internal strife "a lot of rubbish." Beckham made it clear that she considers this tour the last one, telling Reuters earlier this month that she wanted to show her three sons with soccer superstar David Beckham that "mummy was once a pop star." "It's the last opportunity there will be to see the Spice Girls together," Beckham said firmly ... Local fans campaigned to have Toronto voted Spice City last summer. Their loyalty was rewarded with extra dates on the tour. Band members told the U.K.'s Daily Mail recently that family commitments prevented them from extending the tour to places like Australia, China, South America and South Africa ... Paula Acuna, 17, of Mississauga came with her mom, Sandra, who gave her the tickets as a Christmas present. "I feel bad for, like, all the other countries that didn't get to see them. But I feel lucky," Acuna said ... At a downtown nightclub following the group's penultimate concert, Mel B. said she wasn't thinking of last night's show as the final concert, saying: "Our friendship will go on forever, so who knows?"

Clearly this reporter had no idea that the Spice Girls have routinely brought their children on stage (last night's show was not the "first" time) ... and I'm actually kind of surprised that the show setlist wasn't amended a bit for the final show. They should've closed the tour with their song Goodbye (which was performed in the middle of the set). But, now that all the happy togetherness is finally finished, the individual Spices can now carry on with their solo careers:

The Spice Girls wrapped up their kitschy and nostalgic reunion tour Tuesday the same way they started it - in front of their dedicated Canadian fans - and with each of the campy quintet's members aiming for future solo success ... But whether their mantra of "girl power" can catapult each performer - each with solo ventures that have remained overshadowed by their decade-old past - to future success is far from certain. They're unlikely to ever taste fame as glorious as this, said gossip guru Tanya Kim, of CTV's ETalk. "They'll probably never be as much of a powerful force as they were when they were together," said Kim, noting that Spice Girl Melanie Brown has come close to approaching such heights with her recent stint on "Dancing With the Stars." "But Posh (Victoria Beckham), come on, out of all of them, I don't think she has anything to worry about. But that's also because she's riding off (soccer star husband) David's (Beckham) coat-tails a little bit." Inserting herself into Hollywood's A-list assures her a solid future in the public eye, as well, Kim said. "When you befriend Tom (Cruise) and Katie (Holmes) and Will (Smith) and Jada (Pinkett Smith) I'm sure you're going to be just fine. Watch, we'll see her in movies" ... Some devotees at the Air Canada Centre said they detected a note of sadness among the Spices as they brought the tour to a close, with Mel C apparently crying at one point. But overall, emotions were kept largely in check, said fan Jeremy Fechner. "It almost seemed as if they were relieved it was over," said Fechner, noting it was one of the more elaborate and best-done productions he's ever seen. "It's a grueling show." Geri Halliwell, a.k.a. Ginger, has said that the band will not reunite again, but admitted she said that the last time all five stood together onstage in 1998 when she left to pursue a solo career. Halliwell is said to be planning a series of children's books that feature a young heroine, a venture that has fan Karen Kenny musing that Halliwell and the others feel it's time to carve out a new adult identity. "I think she's at a different stage at her life," Kenny, 34, said while waiting at the Air Canada Centre for the show to start. "She's a mother now and I think we're just seeing a different side to her, a lot softer of a side." She predicted continued success for Beckham, but doubted the rail-thin celeb would continue with music. Beckham has declared fashion her real passion, and prefaced her Toronto farewell as a pop star with an afternoon appearance at Holt Renfrew in support of her eyewear and denim line, dVb. After the tour, Brown, a.k.a. Scary Spice, will take on correspondent duties for the gossip TV show, "Access Hollywood." Melanie Chisholm, a.k.a. Sporty Spice, has been heavily promoting her solo singing career with side gigs along the tour route, while Bunton, a.k.a. Baby, has a newborn to look after. [Source, Source]

Getting back to the Spice kids again, they were hauled out on stage during the Mama performance and little Cruz Beckham was allowed to perform his little break-dancing routine again:

It is quite clear that the little kid loves performing on stage ... we will be seeing more of this side of him as he grows up. Here is a really great, SUPER ADORABLE vid clip of Cruz's dance performance last night:

OMG ... seriously, it's the cutest thing I've seen in a long time.

But after all the dancing, all the hugging and all the hamming it up for the cameras was finished it was time for the Spice Girls to say goodbye at long last. Here is the full text of the blogpost that went live on the official Spice Girls website as soon as their final show was finished last night:

Our time is up ... we've come to the end of the road ... there are tears of both sadness and joy. Look how far we've come!

Who would have thought that our reunion could have turned out to be this amazing? It just shows what can grow out of an exciting thought, an idea, a hope, a dream. Yes, our reunion tour is proof that dreams do come true.

We have been lucky enough to have shared it with the most loyal fans in the world. Ten years on, you came back still wanting more ... and it looks like we made some new friends along the way. You have inspired and ignited us with each show, the 47 that we performed, each time was amazing and it is thanks to you.

So we look to the future with hope and imagination and let Girl Power live on through all of you as it will continue in us and the future generations to come.

We have learnt so much through you and through each other.

"Never give up on the good times always believe in the love you find."

We hate goodbyes but sadly the time has come to take our final bow so maybe our song says it best:

"Goodbye my friend, it's not the end ... So glad we made it, time will never ever change it ... "

Mission Accomplished...

Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria

And that, folks, is that. If you were among the lucky folks who were able to see the Spice Girls on this tour then I hope you are able to savor your memories ... I honestly believe that the girls shant ever tour again. But take heart, we do have 5 mediocre solo careers to look forward to! [Source, thanks Chloe and Sam]

Before the Spice Girls convened for their last concert together ever, Vicki B. spent some time pressing the flesh with some faithful fans at an in-store appearance to promote her dVb denim line at Canadian department store Holts Renfrew ... here are a few pics:

Fashion mogul in training Victoria Beckham took time out from the Spice Girls reunion tour, which ended last night, to promote her dVb fashion line at a department store in Toronto. Posh arrived to a screaming crowd at Canadian store Holts Renfrew to ... promote her high-end denim collection. And clearly she made a new pal, a nattily dressed pooch, which she scooped into her arms to pose for a picture with. Ultra-slim Posh wore an equestrian-style blazer along with a pair of tight faded dVb jeans, and tan high-heeled boots to the store signing which attracted many Spice Girl fans, some of whom had come straight from the previous night's concert. The 33-year-old mother of three is predicted to earn £15million from her dVb brand, launched a few years ago, which now sells sunglasses, denim and handbags. And following the end of the Spice Girls reunion tour, which ended with Cruz Beckham's breakdancing bringing down the house in Toronto last night, Posh is clearly keen to get back to the day job. She said recently: "I've been thinking about this for a long time. I'm not in the music industry any more. I'm in the fashion industry. "I'm putting together a team of people now so it will be my main project when I finish this tour."

Now, this might sound crazy and a little hard to believe ... but I'm kinda bummed that VB isn't planning a return to singing. I know that I give her grief on the blog for her singing but I quite like her solo music. Granted, it's not all great but she did manage to put out some fun songs (Let Your Head Go is one of my fave dance songs) and I was kinda hoping for at least one more solo album from her. I get that she's all into fashion (and that she will prolly find more success working in that field) but still ... I'm gonna miss those fun Vicki B. music videos ...

... meh, you never know ... she may feel the itch and make pop music again some day.

In other Beckham news, David Beckham was on the other side of the planet as Les Spices took their final bows in Canada ... Becks and the LA Galaxy are in South Korea this week preparing for a 3-match Asian tour of soccer games. Here are a few pics from a press conference that Becks participated in this morning (local time) ... it was during this press conference that Becks revealed that he is not in fit enough shape to make his 100th appearance for his England team:

David Beckham says he is still not fit enough to return to international duties in what would be his 100th appearance for England. "I would love to reach hundred caps, but I have to be physically ready to be part of the team," Beckham told a media conference in Seoul on Wednesday. "All I've done is training, so I have no match fitness." Beckham arrived in the South Korean capital as his Major League Soccer club, the Los Angeles Galaxy, kicked off a three-match Asian tour. The Galaxy will play FC Seoul in a friendly match Saturday before continuing their tour in Shanghai, China, on March 5 and Hong Kong on March 9. Former England captain Beckham was denied his 100th national team appearance last month by new England coach Fabio Capello, who thought the midfielder lacked form as he had not played a competitive match since November. "I played under Fabio Capello before, you know," said Beckham, who was with Real Madrid when the Italian was in charge. "He is a great manager and a good person," Beckham added. "He is a manager that I understand well and he is a manager that also, I've said before, that will pick players if he believes they are fit enough. And with me playing no games it was only right that there are other players that played many games," he said.

Poor Becks. I'm sure he would've loved to play for the English team but ... c'est la vie. Maybe it's time for him to just forget all of that outside stuff and focus on playing for his new team, the LA Galaxy ... then maybe they can start winning some games ;) [Source]

Okay ... moving on ... here are a few pictures from Janet Jackson's appearance on MTV's TRL yesterday afternoon as well as a couple of photos from her autograph in-store appearance that she did at a Best Buy in NYC last night:

As I'm sure y'all're well aware, Janet released her latest album Discipline yesterday and she spent the majority of the day doing promo appearances and performances to celebrate its release. While hanging out with my friends Steph and Alek yesterday I was able to hear the album a couple of times ... and I love it! It is so much better than her last couple of albums. It is so good, in fact, that I can overlook her poorly over-permed hairdo and just focus on the music. [Source]

Ashlee Simpson was joined by her loverman Pete Wentz at her performance party at Marquee in NYC last night which was sponsored by Caribou Iced Coffee. Here are a few pics from her shindig last night:

Ashlee performed a short set of songs, staring off with L.O.V.E. and then 3 new songs (Keep Me in the Dark, Boys and Outta My Head) off her new album Bittersweet World. I understand that Ash and Pete were pretty affectionate all night long and that Pete really enjoyed her performance (as well he should if he plans to continue getting nookie from her). Ashlee has been doing a lot of early promo work for her new album ... which is still months away from release. I can't wait to hear what all the fuss is about myself. [Source]

Pink is the new Bowler? Sorry I couldn't resist ... here are a few really fun pics of Rihanna enjoying a game of bowling with some friends after the Brit Awards in London last week:

And in other Rihanna news ... we finally have some PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE that she and Chris Brown are doing it. And by "doing it", I mean swimming together in a pool in Jamaica which absolutely DOES NOT MEAN they are engaging in any sort of sexual activities at all. [Source]

So ... we've already seen what Hugh Jackman looks like with his Wolverine facial hair (which you may or may not have noticed in recent pictures depending on how distracted you were by his half-nekkid, dipping wet and incredibly sexy body) and now we get to see what Liev Schriber looks like with his Sabretooth facial hair (he is playing Wolverine's arch nemesis in the new Wolverine Origins movie):

I dunno ... I think the edge has to go to Hugh. I'd have to see Liev wearing a lot less clothes to make an accurate determination. [Source]

Sad face. The long arm of the law has finally reached out and tapped Mischa Barton on the shoulder ... telling her that she is being charged with DUI, weed possession and driving without a valid license ... bummer:

Mischa Barton has been charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana, stemming from her arrest in December, prosecutors announced Tuesday. The former star of The O.C. was also charged with driving without a valid license. Her arraignment on the misdemeanor charges is set for Thursday in Beverly Hills Superior Court. Barton, 22, was arrested for investigation of DUI in West Hollywood on Dec. 27 after her vehicle was seen straddling two lanes of traffic and she failed to signal when making a turn, police have said.

Meh ... she'll get probation and a fine ... this time. Heaven help her if she should get busted for the same thing again any time soon. She has a 50/50 chance of suffering a Paris Hilton jail sentence fate over a Nicole Richie one. [Source]

After hemming and hawing for the past couple of months, Pamela Anderson has finally decided to end her latest marriage to Rick Solomon by way of annulment ... er, I think ... well, at least for today:

Court documents show that Pamela Anderson is seeking an annulment, rather than a divorce, from husband Rick Salomon. The actress is seeking to annul the two-month marriage based on fraud. No other details were available, and Anderson's publicist did not immediately return an e-mail request for comment Tuesday. In court papers filed in Los Angeles on Friday, Anderson asked the court not to award spousal support and to keep her and Salomon's income and property separate. On Monday, Anderson filed a request to have a retired judge handle the annulment proceedings — a common practice in celebrity split-ups as it keeps matters private and out of the court. Anderson and Salomon, both 40, were married Oct. 6 in Las Vegas and separated Dec. 13. He's best known for making a sex videotape with then-girlfriend Paris Hilton and was previously married to actress Shannen Doherty. Anderson was previously married to singer Kid Rock and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.

Er ... to clarify ... Pammy Pie actually married Kid Rock 4 times in the same year so that should count for extra points, I think. I really hope this annulment goes thru quickly ... I can't wait to see who Pamela decides to marry next. [Source]

People magazine has scored the first photos of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden's baby girl Harlow Winter ... here is a little preview of the issue of People magazine which features our very first look at Little Miss Harlow:

Oh man ... is she the cutest thing ever? She looks like the perfect blend of both mommy and daddy. I can't wait to see what the rest of the People magazine pictures will look like :) [Source]

Ali Lohan is tired of waiting in the wings for her chance at superstardom ... and she's using Teen Vogue magazine to put the world on notice -- her time is now, bitches -- and y'all aren't ready. Here is a preview of her new interview with Teen Vogue magazine:

ON MAKING IT IN HOLLYWOOD: "I want it so bad. So bad you don't even know. And now, it's actually happening."

ALI, ON HER NEW REALITY TV SHOW: "It's not all that fake stuff. It's just what we do in our everyday life."

ALI, ON BIG SISTER LINDSAY: "I grew up watching Lindsay, and it made me want to do what she does. Just the whole vibe. Being there, being on camera, or onstage, with everybody listening to you ... it's so cool when people look up to you. I've already been asked for my autograph, and it's just a really good feeling to have."

In other news, the Promises Rehab Facility in Malibu, CA have already broken ground on the new Lohan Wing of their complex. Ali Lohan's suite should be ready for her arrival by this weekend. [Source]

Gwen Stefani, looking nothing at all like Gwen Stefani, is featured on the cover of the new issue of V magazine ... behold:

It's a freaky pic ... but very high fashion. It's not really my fave Gwen look but I can dig it. [Source]

Woot! Woot! The good news is that the new issue of the revived A&F Quarterly magazine/catalog/gay porn mag has got a release date of April 5th ... the bad news is that it will only be available in the UK since the magazine tends to get all the up-tight people in this country all riled up. Here is what the cover of the new issue will look like:

LONDON: Fast-forward to April 5. It is just before 10 a.m. on a Saturday morning but there is a party going on - a "queue party," a frenzy of beautiful people waiting to enter Abercrombie & Fitch's London store. At least that is the plan, devised to launch (read: hype) the American casual wear brand's latest "hero product." Not an "It" bag or trophy sunglasses (both so 2007). No, the fuss and fanfare will be for the return of A&F Quarterly, the in-house fashion magazine that was dropped in 2003 after protests about its racy - some critics said pornographic - content. The "magalogue" - a catalogue dressed up as a magazine and usually mailed free or distributed in retail outlets - is having a moment ... "A&F Quarterly is all about lifestyle," says Tom Lennox, its vice president of corporate communications. "It's a lifestyle that encapsulates confidence, privilege, intelligence, beautiful people, sex and humor."

Let me just say that I am all for the "confidence, privilege and intelligence" bologna they are trying to peddle as long as the pics of the hot nekkid folks NOT wearing the Abercrombie and Fitch clothing they're trying to promote are kept intact. Even tho the mag isn't being distributed here in the US I'm sure it'll find its way to our sunny shores :) [Source]

Here is our first look at the cover artwork for Tokio Hotel's debut US album Scream:

Scream is scheduled for an April release ... is America ready for this German phenomenon? [Source]

And finally ... here are a couple of really sweet pictures of rugby superstar Ben Cohen posing with his twin baby daughters in an homage to the famous Man and Baby Athena poster which featured model Adam Perry and was hugely popular in the 80's:

Getting a baby to behave as the cameras click can be difficult. But Ben Cohen, father of twin girls, had his hands full when he tried to get his daughters to smile together on cue. The 29-year-old former England rugby star was hoping to recreate an updated version of the classic sepia image of man and child that sold five million Athena posters in the 1980s. But his wriggling, giggling, five-month-olds Isabelle and Harriett refused to play ball. It took three hours to come up with the final shot of him holding Isabelle, who decided to co-operate for just long enough. Cohen is the face of the Problem Shared campaign, which supports first-time fathers. The iconic Athena poster of male model Adam Perry was one of the best-known images of the 1980s. Known as 'Man and Baby, the picture was taken by photographer Spencer Rowell.

OMG ... whether you're familiar with the 1986 poster or not, these pics of Ben with his babies are SOOOO CUTE! He really puts the -ILF in DILF. [Source]

Les News:
Yesterday was a very cool day for me. I was able to spend quite a bit of time hanging out with the amazing Steph and Alek, best known for their blog Oh La La and their new online fashion magazine Bello Magazine. I was under the impression that the guys spent most of their time in Paris, France so I was very happy to learn that they spend much of their time here in LA. The guys invited me to their place to catch-up and participate in an interview for the next issue of Bello (which is scheduled to go online in March). We had an amazing time ... they are the coolest guys ... and now that I know they live so close, I'm sure we'll be hanging out a lot more often. Here are a couple amazing photos that Steph and Alek shot of us yesterday:

I swear to the Gods, the guys have a magic camera. They actually made me look good :)

After hanging out with the Frenchies, I made my way to Culver City to meet up with Darion for dinner at Tender Greens (which is one of the best restaurants I've been to in ages ... amazing home-cooked food at ridiculously low prices) before going to see The Orphanage:

D and I have been talking about seeing this movie forever and we finally made the time to see it before it left theaters. Guillermo Del Toro produced this creepy Spanish film and, I have to say, did an amazing job with it. It's not really a horror film ... it's insanely creepy and very suspenseful. The story is just amazing ... I'm convinced Del Toro can do no wrong. I absolutely loved his movie Pan's Labyrinth and I quite enjoyed this movie, too. If you do see it, don't see it alone ... I cannot recommend seeing this movie sitting in that dark theater by yourself.

Ack ... I have a few things to take care of today ... David arrives tomorrow night ... the temperature will get into the 80s today ... life is good.

I'm out.
