Prom-ise Of A New Day
OY! A couple of these dresses are really hideous ... I can't believe KC agreed to wear them. But if YOU think you've got a better pic of you and your friends in hawt prom dresses to share, click HERE to submit them for possible posting on PITNB.
And since it is impossible to talk about any girl who hails from The Real OC and not get her take on the Audrina nekkid pics scandal, KC offers her $0.02 on the whole matter:
Kristin Cavallari is confident that the topless photos of Audrina Partridge won't bring The Hills star down. "She can move on from it," she told Usmagazine.com at the Details Celebrates "Mavericks 2008" in L.A. Thursday. "She's young, she did her thing, whatever," Cavallari said. "She looks good. Her body is bangin'!"
Well, Kristin's take on the pics is questionable but she's a real doll to offer her support to her fellow reality TV colleague. I think it's safe to say that this Audrina thing has pretty much run its course. There really isn't anything further that needs to be said (um, unless Justin Bobby crawls out of the hole he's living in and offers his opinion) at this point. Hopefully this whole mess will be a distant memory very soon. I'd very much like the next nudie pic scandal to involve someone more high profile ... that way the story might be a bit more long-lasting. [Source, Source]

Audrina Can't Have All The Attention
Her BFF Lauren LC Conrad is also not very interested in talking to anyone about Audrina's nudie pics either ... she was on KIIS FM earlier this week and refused to offer anything about the pics to Ryan Seacrest and has remained mum when photogs ask her what she thinks as well ...
... after all, why would LC need to talk about Audrina when she can talk about herself ... and more specifically, the US Weekly coverstory that she freely gave to the magazine and then recanted from a little bit before recanting on her recant and clarifying that she's still cool with the mag:
Lauren Conrad doesn't know when to shut up. In this week's Us Magazine, poor Lauren goes off about betrayal and how she was stabbed in the back by BFFs Brody and Audrina. Then she goes off on her blog, claiming that her words were twisted ... A source at Us Weekly tells us MTV execs loved the cover- and the storyline matched exactly what they're promoting for the "Hills" season opener on March 24. Then, we're told, Audrina freaked. She was having a "very emotional week" (naked pictures and all) and we hear "went into a rage" when she read the article. Our source says Lauren, scared to lose her BF, posted the blog as an olive branch to Audrina. Problem is, Us Weekly is probably the only mag that cares enough to put LC et al on the cover. Lauren's even admitted publicly that Us is responsible for the ratings success of the show. Talking a bunch of smack on her blog about the mag is probably not exactly the best idea ... LC has just issued the following statement, to backpedal clarify: "It was never my intention to criticize Us Weekly as I have a great relationship with them. My statement was only meant to support and stand by my friends." We hear that LC will also be in attendance at an office cocktail party next week in NY.
Yeah, causing a stir with a tabloid magazine over an interview ain't gonna get as much press as nekkid pics but she had to give it a try, right? What won't these girls do to promote the new mini-season of The Hills? [Source, Source]

The TV Guide: Back In The Big Apple
I got into NYC around 10 and to David's place around 11 ... just in time for a pizzafest. We talked about maybe going out but I was just too wiped. We ended up just staying in and taking it easy.
Tonight we're meeting up with Monique, Corynne and David's sister Eden for dinner and whatnot and then tomorrow we're off to Connecticut for an Easter get together with his family. I'll deffo be posting tomorrow but it will likely be a lighter day than usual.
I'm happy to report that the weather here isn't horrible ... it's not SoCal warm but it's not freezing so I can't really complain on that front. It looks to be a pretty nice visit to NYC this week.

Looking Quite Dapper
To be very honest, I just wanted an excuse to post pics of Marco Dapper today. Le GangTM and I ran into him in LA a couple of weeks ago and I figured it was high time to remind the world what a hot guy he is. His appearance on the cover of the Spanish version of Men's Health magazine gave me the perfect excuse to post him. I understand mes amis Steph and Alek are planning on photographing him again soon ... I'm going to have to make sure my new BFFs give me a call when that shoot takes place so that I can offer any assistance at the photoshoot that may be required. Perhaps they'll have need for someone to help Marco change in and out of his clothes? I'm sure I can find the time to offer my help. [Source]

60 Minutes With Les Beckhams
We all know David Beckham's first two passions (soccer and family), but as the superstar tells Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes this Sunday, the guy is also obsessed with his ink. "I think everybody's got a way of expressing their feelings, and mine is through my tattoos," Beckham says of his 15 body tattoos. He also shows Cooper the likenesses of wife Victoria Beckham (on his left arm) and the three cherubs on his right arm (for sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz). Also revealed on the CBS interviewing (airing Sunday): Beckham, 32, has the option to purchase a Major League Soccer team in the United States when his contract with the L.A. Galaxy runs out, sometime in 2011. But before that, he's got some soccer to play. Beckham wrote on his blog Thursday: "The new MLS season is less than two weeks away and I'm really looking forward to the first game against Colorado Rapids. This is my first full season with the Galaxy, so obviously I want to stay fit and play as many games as possible this year."
Becks's blogpost goes on from there ...
Ruud Gullit has come in with new ideas and lots of experience, so we're working hard in training and just counting the days until the season begins. I'm really excited about the new season and for me it can't come soon enough.
We played our final pre-season game against FC Dallas last Saturday, which finished goalless, though I think we did enough to win the game. We played some great football and made some really good chances.
While in Dallas I met up with some old friends. The last time I was there (which was in 1989 with the Essex Schoolboys) I stayed with Sam and Christine Alacala at their house. They are wonderful people, who welcomed me into their home and I have such fond memories of the time I spent with them, so it was great to see them after all this time, although the family has grown a bit since I last saw them as I'm sure they thought I had.
Tonight I am going to present the U.S Soccer Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award to Pele in New York. I'm honoured to be presenting the award to one of, if not the greatest, footballer of all time. The award is in recognition of his contribution to the game of soccer in the United States. It is definitely deserved as he really raised the profile of the game here during his time playing for the New York Cosmos. Also at the awards, Phil Anshutz, the owner of LA Galaxy (as well as the LA Lakers basketball team) is also due to receive an award, so congratulations to them both.
Speak to you soon
David
It's unclear if Becks will discuss and show off his latest tattoo (the tattoo which was inked on the left side of his body across his ribs) on the 60 Minutes segment this weekend but we can hope. I'm still on the fence about renewing my season tickets for the LA Galaxy this time around. I'd love to watch Becks in action again but I'm weary of shelling out the big bucks in the hopes that he will play every game. I think I may just buy individual tickets to start with and see how things go. I've yet to become a huge soccer fan but if anything can bring me on board, it'd be David Beckham. [Source]
In other Beckham news, wifey Vicki B. took her middle child Romeo out for a shopping jaunt on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA with Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria in tow yesterday afternoon. The trio made the rounds in the swanky shopping district and made stops at Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Yves Saint Laurent. Here are a few pics:

I understand the ladies caused quite a stir yesterday as hordes of gawkers followed them everywhere they went. Additionally, Marc Jacobs has just released yet another ad for their new collection which features VB in another strange yet artistic (?) pose ... check it out:
She has made no secret of her desperate desire to be a style icon. But Victoria Beckham's latest bizarre outfit only confirmed her status as fashion victim extraordinaire. Wearing a raven black headpiece that almost defied description and puckering her face into the oh-so-familiar pout, Posh Spice appeared to have beamed down from another planet. Her usual sleek bob had been transformed with the help of a fringe made of feathers all topped off with a bow. The wannabe style queen struck up her latest gangly pose for designer chum Marc Jacobs. In an open-and-cut case of shoot the stylist, her outfit comprised a shapeless beige sack dress, a pink bra and bizarre tape draped around her neck and shoulders. The ensemble was finished off with the ultra-expensive Mika handbag, a crocodile-skin confection festooned with gold chains ...
I'm not sure if looking the part of Wife of Xenu is meant to sell clothes but good for Vicki B. for giving it a try. It's clear that VB puts all of her trust in Marc Jacobs because I don't know that anyone else could get her to pose in such a ridiculous way for an ad campaign. I often remark how dispassionate VB appears but there is one thing that deffo comes across in these Marc Jacobs ads ... she really does have a sense of humor. Playing the fool for fashion deffo takes a person who gets the joke. Personally, I like VB best when she's shoved inside a shopping bag. [Source]

Ryan Makes A Stop In NYC
Elsewhere in NYC this week, a very serious-looking Ryan made an appearance with director Kimberly Peirce (sadly, sans Channing Tatum) at a screening of the film hosted by The Cinema Society and GQ magazine which was held at the IFC Center Thursday night:
Additionally, Ryan made an appearance on The Howard Stern Show and, for the first time, talked about the relationship that seems to be still going on between his former wife Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal:
Ryan Phillippe has given his ex-wife Reese Witherspoon and her boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal his blessing. Phillippe and Witherspoon, who have two children together, ended their eight-year marriage with a divorce last year. He is now dating Australian starlet Abbie Cornish, while Witherspoon is in a relationship with her Rendition co-star Gyllenhaal. And Phillippe wishes Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal the best. Speaking to radio host Howard Stern on Thursday, Phillippe said, "He's a good dude. I love her and I want her to be happy, and it seems like she is." The 33-year-old added that his split from Witherspoon was a "mutual" decision. He said, "Leading up to it, we had been spending so much time apart. That's a huge part of it. There are so many obstacles."
I'm actually a bit surprised that Ryan is even talking about the whole GyllenSpoon thing right now ... but I'm sure he expected the question when he agreed to talk to Howard Stern. I mean, what else could he say but that he wishes her happiness. It can't be easy having to field questions like this when it's prolly the last thing on Earth you want to talk about. I wasn't sure if Ryan and Abbie Cornish were officially calling themselves a couple but I guess the cat is out of the bag now. It did seem curious that Abbie was not present at either screening of Stop-Loss this week ... I guess Ryan is ready to talk about Reese but not quite ready to talk about Abbie just yet. In any event, I hope none of this extraneous stuff takes away from the focus of the film ... as I mentioned before, I really liked the movie and I hope that others will check it out as well. [Source]

Type Casting
As much as all things Ashton Kutcher tend to irritate me on every level imaginable, I have to admit that I kinda like this show. Granted, I've only seen the one ep (this one which features JL Spears -- which seems to be a bit of coup considering JL's current state of infamy) but I like what I see thus far. Judy Greer, the show's main character, is really a funny actress so the show seems to have merit. I'm not really fond of the typical throw-away jokes that pepper the writing but there were enough yuks in this ep to keep me entertained. I might have to watch more of this show to see if it can keep me entertained. If you missed watching this episode, entitled Hot Sub, when it aired this past Thursday night, you can watch the entire episode online at ABC.com. [Source]

Pin-Up Girl
Jamie Lee Curtis has agreed to pose topless to mark her 50th birthday. The actress said she would bare all to convince older women that they can still be beautiful if they take care of their bodies. Her topless pose will appear on May's cover of the magazine of the American Association of Retired Persons ... The actress will be pictured topless in May even though her birthday falls in November.
You know what ... good for Jamie Lee Curtis for choosing to appear on a magazine cover in such a state of undress. You absolutely must respect a woman who takes pride in who she is, no matter what the "conventions of beauty" say. If Madonna can bring the sexy at 50, so can JLC. [Source]

The Dirty 30
Even though Kevin Federline seems to have put his partying past behind him, there's one party he's still up for: His birthday bash in Las Vegas. On Friday night, Britney Spears's ex-husband took a break from parenting to ring in his 30th birthday at Pure Nightclub – the same place he celebrated his birthday last year. As he entered the club, a dapper-looking Federline – wearing a chic gray suit – said he felt "great" about turning 30. Flanked by a group of 20 pals, including his family and attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, Federline headed straight to his VIP table where he was greeted by ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson. Throughout the night, Federline and his group sang along to tunes by Jay-Z, Kanye West and other hip-hop artists. At one point, the deejay played Federline's own "Lose Control," a song familiar to the club considering its music video was shot there in 2006. Close to midnight, Federline danced on the couch at his table and held up a California license plate that read "FDRLINE", all while drinking Jack Daniels. At one point in the evening, the birthday boy grabbed the microphone for a rambling profanity-laced speech in which he encouraged everyone to have "a good time. " "I lost my voice at the craps tables and I lost all my money," he went on to say in a raspy voice, before a friend dragged him away from the mic.
Hmmm ... you have to wonder if his "20 pals" weren't just guys hired for the evening to provide security or whatever ... but really, I can't seriously hate on the guy (so much). He really has kept his act together, he stepped up to care for his children when their mother wasn't able and he seems genuinely interested in helping Britney Spears get her life back on track in whatever way he can (ie. not keeping her kids away from her). I wouldn't necessarily call myself a K-Fed fan but I can respect the man for his latest actions. It seems apropos to send out some Birthday Lurve to The Federline. As long as he stays cool with Britney AND stays out of the recording studio I can show him love. [Source]
