Tightly Packed

Stop the presses. Before we get into the day's usual goss (where, traditionally, a Britney Spears item leads the way) I have to get things started with this very first picture of David Beckham modeling Armani Underwear from his new ad campaign that is due to flood the media in 2008:

Much love goes out to Pink reader Louise for sending in this sneak preview of what's in store for the David Beckham for Armani Underwear ad campaign ... and what's in store in those tight little undies themselves. Now, it's plain to see that Becks is a very hot man but this photo does seem ... manipulated a bit to emphasize his assets. I don't recall seeing abs like this on Becks before ... and that bulge does look a wee bit stuffed. That being said ... I don't know that anyone will be complaining much. I'm sure this is but a taste of things to come for this ad campaign ... I can't *wait* to see more :) [Source via Source, thanks Louise]

Britney Spears, for some strangely bizarre reason, seems to be really attached to that blue Bic lighter that she stole from a gas station in front of the paps over the weekend as it has quickly become her newest companion. Luckily for her a kind paparazzo went back and paid the full $1.39 (plus tax) to the gas station owner so that Brit Brit wouldn't be separated from her new toy:

After her infamous shoplifting spree at Hustler, Britney Spears continued her five finger discount shopping Friday at a Sherman Oaks, Calif., Chevron gas station, where the singer, 26, snatched a lighter. "I stole something!" Spears sarcastically told photographers as she walked out of the station with a $1.39 lighter. "Oh, I'm bad!" Manager Sham Bahia laughed off the incident. "If I see her, I'm going to ask her for the money!" he told Usmagazine.com. "She's a thief. I don't know if she wanted the lighter or just wanted to make a story." Alas, Spears got off the hook. A photographer returned to the store Saturday and paid for it. "[The manager] didn't want me to pay for it at first," photographer Shane Partridge told Us. "I told him it was no bother. I just felt like I should, you know?" Whew! Well that's good news. We wouldn't want Britters going apeshizz again because her thievery caught up with her. I wonder what desperate cry for help/attention she will do next. [Source]

Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Lisa Kudrow and James Marsters were among the celebs who came out to Grauman's Chinese Theatre for the Hollywood premiere of their new movie P.S. I Love You which took place here in LA last night ... here are a few pics from the red carpet:

Blah ... I'm so embarrassed to keep admitting how much I want to see this movie. I'm not exactly sure what the strong appeal is for me. I'm sure the fact that Gerard Butler's hotness is in the flick has something to do with it ... but he dies early on and I'm guessing his main contribution to the movie will be voice-over work, so... Anyways, I am very, very pleased to know that James Marsters (ex-Spike on Buffy and Angel) has a part in the movie ... I know that's a deffo draw for me ;) The whole premise just sounds sickeningly cute. The movie doesn't open until December 21 but it's all good, by then I'll be home in Detroit in time to see it with Sarah :) [Source]

Celebs of varying magnitude were on hand here in LA last night at the Music Box at the Fonda for the 7th Annual Hollywood Life Breakthrough of the Year Awards. Here are a few pics from the awards show last night:

The way I understand it, Hollywood Life magazine bestows trophies to Hollywood's hot rising stars so that they can feel appreciated by someone until they work in bigger projects that may, one day, lead to the Academy Awards. I'm not sure that we really need another awards show like this one but, hey, if Spike TV can have new awards shows every year, why can't Hollywood Life magazine as well? [Source]

Buffyverse creator Joss Whedon and friends of his production company Mutant Enemy, Inc. came out to join the ranks of the striking writer's in Hollywood last Friday to lend their support to their cause. Pink reader Kat went out to march with the Buffy folks ... and these pics come from screencaps from a fan shot video of the strike that was posted on You Tube:

Kat writes: Just a quick email to my fellow Buffy verse fan. I went to the Mutant Enemy picket day at Fox on Friday and saw all kinds of Joss-type goodness. Nicholas Brendon, Juliet Landau, your friend Tom and Eliza were all in attendance. Of course, Joss, too. Super cool. Ahhh! I wish I had known ... I would've gone down to the Fox lot to lend my support for the cause as well ... and to press the flesh with my fave Buffyverse actors (including Nathan Fillion and producer Tim Minear). The fan-shot video is really cool, if you're at all a fan of Buffy, Angel or Joss Whedon in general, I highly suggest you check it out HERE. [Source]

Kylie Minogue showed off her new, shaggy bob hairdo on the German TV show Wetten, Das ..? where she performed some songs off her latest album X. Here are a couple pics from Kylie's appearance:

Kylie showed off her legs and bonded with fellow celebrity Renee Zellweger on Austrian chat show Wetten Das...? The 38-year-old popstar showed that despite being nearly 40, she could still give fresh-faced youngsters a run for their money when it comes to putting on a show. Dressed in black fishnets, raunchy platform ankle boots and a tight-fitting black plunge-neck top, Kylie performed songs from her latest album X, which reached number four in the album charts when it was released last month. The singer also sported an edgy platinum blonde bob which added to the sexy look she has adopted since bouncing back from breast cancer. Her much coveted-style was acknowledged recently when a survey of UKTV Style programme The Clothes Show revealed 31 per cent of viewers regarded her as a style icon. I will agree that Kylie is an uber style icon and I will also agree that she looks pretty damn good in these pics ... but I still hate the shaggy hair. It looks too much like fried straw ... kinda like hair that Britney would rock these days. Me no like. [Source]

JFXonline seems to have snapped the first pic of actor Chris Pine on the set of the new JJ Abrams-directed Star Trek prequel movie ... it appears that Chris is in a Starfleet cadet uniform/jumpsuit possibly making his way onto the set ... or maybe he was just on is way to the cafeteria:

It's not absolutely clear whether or not it's Chris in this pic but I'm gonna think that it is him. [Source]

Additionally, JFXonline also snapped a few pics of an actress in green make-up which is believed to be for her part in the film as an Orion Slave Girl from the original Star Trek series (ie. the green alien woman that Capt. Kirk sucked face with on the show):

Here is more info on the Orion Slave Girls from Wikipedia: Orions have green skin, and the males of the species can be larger and stronger than humans. In the Star Trek universe, first contact with humans occurred in 2154 when the Enterprise (NX-01) encountered the Orion Syndicate following the kidnapping of T'Pol and eight other crewmembers to be sold as slaves.[1] However, the first portrayal of an Orion was in the originally un-broadcast Star Trek pilot "The Cage". This pilot was incorporated into a two-part episode "The Menagerie" ... Orion females are in particularly high demand as consorts and entertainment. Dialog in "The Menagerie" describes the Orion slave girls as "vicious, seductive" and that "they say no human male can resist them." The plot of "Bound" reveals that their seductive prowess stems in large part from the pheromones they release. These pheromones also have an incapacitating effect on males of most other species (Vulcans at least are immune). Orion women are known for their wiles and sexual appetites. An illusory Orion slave girl was one of the very first aliens to be seen in Star Trek when one appeared in the first Trek pilot episode, "The Cage". Brills. Clearly JJ Abrams is a huge Trekkie and he really knows all the right elements from the mythos to include in his prequel movie. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the original series (altho I am a huge fan of ST: TNG and ST: Voyager) but I gotta admit, I'm intrigued by this new version of the story. [Source]

It appears that the intense spotlight of celebrity is starting to wear thin for Zac Efron and his lady love Vanessa Hudgens ... the two have started trying to go incognito whenever the paps try to snap their pics these days:

LOL! These two are way too young/unfamous to start pulling this bullshizz. Who do they think they are ... the Olsen Twins? [Source]

Katie Holmes and Suri Holmes Cruise we snapped doing a little Xmas shopping this weekend ... and check it out, Katie's new bob haircut has already mysteriously grown out:

Sneaky, sneaky Katie ... it appears that she was wearing a wig the whole time. I never would've pegged her for trying to pull such fakery on her adoring public. Welp, that settles it ... her integrity is totally compromised now. [Source]

Patrick Dempsey really likes to go bike-riding in his sexy spandex bike-riding outfit ...

... and I really lurve him for it. [Source]

Fergie Ferg continues to try and peddle her new line of purses despite the fact that no one really seems all that interested in buying them (I mean, hello, why would anyone want a Fergie purse when they could buy a Jessica Simpson purse?). Here are a couple pics of Fergie from a recent in store appearance at the South Coast Plaza Macy's department store:

At least she looked good at this appearance. I'm sure the fact that she laid off on the fugly goes a long way to cushion the blow to her ego that her bags ain't sellin'. [Source]

Christian Bale who portrays Batman, The Dark Knight, graces the cover of the new issue of the French film magazine Cine Live magazine:

At last ... Batman is getting some attention. It seems like everywhere you look it's all about The Joker. Still, I'm not sure how I feel about the changes that have been made to the Batman suit. The new suit looks ... complicated. I wouldn't mind if they just wrapped Christian's hot bod in spandex and lycra ... not one bit. [Source]

Also in the pages of the this issue of Cine Live mag, Iron Man gets some play as well:

This international poster isn't all that much different from the domestic poster but I think it works. Iron Man will have to work really hard to compete with The Dark Knight next year ... but they seem to be doing a good job keeping up already. [Source]

And finally ... here is our first look at the poster artwork for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull along with a few plot tidbits from the much-anticipated sequel:

Now that the poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has been revealed, some details from the super-secret plot also can be officially exposed. Indiana Jones co-producer Frank Marshall is authorized to confirm some rumors and detail some of the story, about a quest for South American relics with supernatural powers. When last we saw Indy, he was riding off into the sunset in 1989's The Last Crusade, set in 1938 near the start of World War II. The new movie, due this spring, is set at the height of the Cold War in 1957, so the character has aged in real time — 19 years. "He's teaching and having kind of a quiet life," the producer says. Once the archaeologist is thrust back into danger, the signature Indiana Jones red line tracing across the map will take him to New Mexico, Connecticut, Mexico City and the jungles of Peru. Despite all the gray-hair jokes (Harrison Ford is 65), Indy is still swinging from dangerous precipices and absorbing punches. "Indy's a fallible character. He makes mistakes and gets hurt. He has a few more aches and pains now," Marshall says. "That's the other thing people like: He's a real character, not a character with superpowers." The Nazis are no longer Indy's chief foe — he's racing for the Crystal Skull against operatives from the Soviet Union, including Oscar winner Cate Blanchett as the seductive Agent Spalko. "Indy always has a love-hate relationship with every woman he ever comes in contact with," Marshall says. Ray Winstone, currently the star of Beowulf, co-stars as an unethical rival archaeologist. Transformers star Shia LaBeouf sports greaser hair and rides a motorcycle as the hero's sidekick. The Last Crusade concluded without a cliffhanger, but Crystal Skull will revisit bits from other films, including Karen Allen's feisty Marion Ravenwood from 1981's Raiders of the Lost Ark. Yes, yes ... the storyline does sound interesting (despite the horrible-sounding title) but I'm more intrigued by the person who is depicted in this poster artwork. I don't know that Harrison Ford looked that young in the first Indiana Jones film back in the 80s. The graphic artists have been very kind to our dear Indy. [Source]

Les News:
Last night's dinner at Ketchup with The GangTM turned out to be a whole lot more fun than even I was expecting. I was very bummed to learn that Kirsten got really sick overnight and she wasn't able to join us for dinner ... but everyone else made it out and a geat time (and meal) was had by all:

We pretty much ate until be nearly burst ... and then had dessert. It was glorious. I was very happy that David was in town to join in the fun ... cuz I have great friends and I love sharing them. We had a total blast ...

And tonight, we're in for even more fun. Mike and I will be going to The Hills Live Third Season Finale party here in LA tonight. We'll be on hand to party with the gang from The Hills and I will be mobile blogging from the event and will post the big news from the "life-changing" announcement that will be made at tonight's event. I'm pretty excited ... but Mike is just dying to go so, it'll be fun.

OY ... it's Monday ... and I hope it's going well (and fast) for you ... I am out ;)
