Twinkle, Twinkle Little Tower
Boo! That really sucks. I had high hopes that Perry would be Britney's saving grace. Now that he's gone, little Sean Preston is left alone with only Kevin Federline as a male influence ... and little Sutton Pierce prolly never got the chance to enjoy Perry's influence. I truly weep for the future. That said -- wouldn't it be amazing if Perry and Jude hooked up? [Source, thanks Kimberly]
When he's not trying to beat the shizz out of photographers, Justin Timberlake is bizzy celebrating his first #1 album debut. Here are some pictures from JT's album release party for FutureSex/LoveSounds in LA yesterday:
In a major week for new releases, Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" (Jive) rises to the top of The Billboard 200 with 684,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's the artist's first No. 1; his solo debut, "Justified," entered at No. 2 with 439,000 copies in 2002. Congrats to Justin on this accomplishment. While I'm not totally insanely in love with everything on the album, I do like it more than I liked Justified over all. Now, if he can just learn to keep his aggression in check, I think he'll be all set. [Source]
Speaking of #1s, Madonna has scored herself a record of her own ... she has become the top-grossing touring female artist of all time. In just 60 shows she has surpassed the former record held by Cher which took her 3 years and 273 shows to attain. Here are photos of Madonna's first of two Confessions Tour shows at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan last night. Apparently, Madonna's new 'do is just a wig after all:
Madonna will wrap her Confessions tour tomorrow (Sept. 21) at the Tokyo Dome as the top-grossing tour ever by a female artist. Although final numbers are not all in, tour producer Arthur Fogel puts the tally at $193.7 million from 60 shows that drew nearly 1.2 million in paid attendance. That gross narrowly puts Madonna over Cher's benchmark of $192.5 million. However, it took Cher an endurance-testing 273 shows between June 2002 and April 2005 to reach that mark on her marathon Farewell tour. "Madonna has yet again delivered an incredible show for her fans, and the success of the tour is the ultimate statement," Fogel tells Billboard.com. "She absolutely belongs at number one." Madge is brilliant ... she managed to tour less and make more money ... by setting super high ticket prices that she knew her fans would pay, she managed to break the bank with her latest Confessions Tour. Bravo! I totally felt the show was worth my money. And incidentally, I was just getting used to her new look when I found out that her 'do is just a wig. Ah well ... I'm sure there'll be a new reinvention soon enough. [Source, thanks Don]
I'm not sure what is going on with Kylie Minogue ... she is such a fashionista that I generally love or can appreciate the, oftentimes, outlandish outfits that she likes to wear. Kylie is one of those women who always gets it right ... except when she decides to wear Teva-like sandals out in public ... where anyone can see her:
I mean ... seriously?! Is it wrong that I would've actually preferred if she wore Crocs? Oh gawd ... what am I saying?! Kylie ... I love you dearly and I can forgive you anything but PLEASE let's lose the fancy Tevas and never, ever wear them again. I'd love you even more ... forever and ever! [Source]
Paris Hilton must be trying to score some massive karma points these days. And with the luck she's been having lately, I'd say it's a good idea that she is doing so (altho, I wouldn't be surprised if someone gave her the idea in the first place). Here are a couple photos of Paris generously giving a $100 dollar bill to a homeless man at a McDonald's drive-thru window:
Paris Hilton may be many things, but she sure isn't stingy, especially when she's coming out of a McDonalds drive-thru and a pan-handler asks her for money. "You Paris Hilton! Can I get a hundred dollars?" was the exact quote. Before Paris could answer, then man came down quite a bit, asking "how 'bout a dollar?" But Paris heard the first request and reached beside her and handed the man a crumpled $100 bill. She then posed with him and remained polite, even when he asked about "Lionel Richie's daughter" ... Hmmm ... I really wonder if Paris would have been so generous with her $100 dollar bills if there weren't photographers standing around to notice. What is it that they say about the generosity of an heiress in the woods if no one is around to bear witness? [Source]
Here are new photos of Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale and their son Kingston James enjoying a lovely afternoon in and around a park in London. Aren't they seriously the cutest couple:

I love the picture of Gavin pushing the stroller. He looks like a great dad. I really bet that K-Fed's idea of being a great dad is allowing his children to sip from his beer can when their mother isn't looking. [Source]
Wee! Summer ain't quite over for Matthew McConaughey ... here are new pictures of the shirtless and wet hottie catching a few waves in SoCal earlier this week:

Even tho it doesn't look like he's very good at, I'm glad that Matthew is surfing again. Now, if he could just get his new BFF Jake Gyllenhaal to join him in the wet fun ... well ... that would make it all the better. [Source]
I'm not entirely sure what it is that Stephen Baldwin is hoping to accomplish with this Jesus Mobile ...

... and I'm not entirely sure that I even want to know. But, if your soul is in need of saving, I'm sure you can count on Stephen Baldwin to come to the rescue. [Source]
Now, everyone knows that I usually love all things pink ...
... but the thought of Jack Osbourne in hot pink American Apparel underwear is just a bit too much to bear. Whatever happened to the hot Jack that we used to enjoy last winter? Where did he go? [Source]
OH NO! Danger! Danger! David Beckham! Your robotic wife appears to have suffered a serious malfunction!
It looks like it's time to pull the plug on this model and fire up a new one. Maybe the new model can have less air pressure in the lip region? [Source]
And finally, I have to send out all sorts of Birthday Lurve to our most favoritest SkeletwinTM ever ... Miss Nicole Richie:
Here's hoping that new beau Brody Jenner gets you a big ass birthday cake (seriously) and that you eat 5 big pieces of it for me (I mean it ... seriously). Have a great birthday ... I'm sending you all my love ... from Paris ... France! XO

When I was in Elementary/Junior High, I had 2 penpals whose addresses I purchased thru a penpal program for about $4.00. I chose one from Egypt and one from France. I only corresponded with them a few times but I wrote to the French penpal more because she wrote in the coolest handwriting (on tissue paper) and sent me a little plastic Eiffel Tower as a gift. I've since lost that plastic Eiffel Tower over the years (tho, I wouldn't be surprised if my mother had it stashed away somewhere) and decided that I would get a new one, a metal one, at the gift shops at the Eiffel Tower on my first visit. I don't really know what it is about the Eiffel Tower in particular but I have just always loved it. It was deff worth the wait. I will deff come back to Paris to visit it again.
Anyways ... after hanging out at the tower all afternoon, David and I went shopping for gifts in the Latin Quarter before having a great sushi dinner. We hopped aboard a sightseeing boat on the Seine and listened as the tour guide, in her cute broken English, explained to us what all the important buildings and landmarks are along the river. It was very romantic ... we kissed underneath each bridge ... and made our wish underneath the wishing bridge (which I forgot the name of, but it was described as the "most romantic bridge in Paris"). Afterwards, we went back to the Eiffel Tower, laid in the grass and just looked up at the lights. At 11pm, the whole tower twinkled ... it was pretty kick ass. Click HERE to watch a short video that I shot of the twinkling Eiffel Tower last night.
Earlier in the day, I ran into Pink reader Sharon while we were both shopping in a souvenir shop:
So far, she's the first Pink reader that I ran into here ... and I thank her for sending me our picture. I hope that I can run into others before we leave on Saturday.
Today we're going out to spend the day at Versailles ... there is a party at Le Queen tonight which we might hit up ... it'll prolly be our last chance to dance it up here in Paris.
One last thing ... The Oohlas are playing a free show at Hollywood & Highland tonight in LA:
And next Tuesday, I will be "hosting" the CD release party for their debut album Best Stop Pop at Cinespace. It is my understanding that my "hosting" duties will pretty much be made up of me getting to enjoy a whole night of The Oohlas! I urge all you Los Angelinos to plan accordingly and come out next Tuesday night to party with The Oohlas and me.
And that is all ... I'm out.
PS: Happy Birthday, Roxana!
