The Queen Is Dead
Now, I'm not sure if this new motif is something we should be getting used to but I'm reallllly hoping this is just a transitional phase that she is going thru. I'm sure she's a mess right now, after having her second child sliced from her womb, so she's prolly not thinking straight. BUT, if her musical comeback revolves around some crazy homage to Cats theme ... well ... then I think it's over for our dear Brit. Please Gods, let this just be the meds talking. [Source]
Speaking of meds, I need to get me some because the release of Kevin Federline's debut rap album, Playing with Fire, is growing closer by the day. If you are so inclined, you can pre-order a copy of his new album ... and if you are among the first 500 people to do so you will receive an autographed headshot of Mr. K-Fed himself:
The album's final tracklisting is as follows:
The World Is Mine
America's Most Hated
Snap
Lose Control
Dance With A Pimp (featuring Ya Boy)
Privilege featuring Bosko
Crazy (featuring Britney Spears)
A League Of My Own
Playing With Fire
Caught Up
Kept On Talkin'
AND ... as if that wasn't fabulous enough ... you can also pre-order the CD + Federation Records t-shirt combo too! By pre-ordering you will be eligible to win amazing prizes: By pre-ordering you will automatically be entered to win a Grand Prize Trip for 2 to LA for 2 nights & 3 days to attend Kevin Federline's Halloween album release party for his debut album "Playing with Fire" hosted by Britney Spears. Second prize winner receives an autographed pair of sneakers that Kevin wore for his appearance on the Teen Choice Awards. 10 Runners-up will receive a replica of the Federation medallion that Kevin wears almost everyday! Don't delay, act now! Click HERE to place your pre-order. [Source]
Incidentally, let me state for the record that if I end up pre-ordering this album (and I'm not saying that I am pre-ordering, I'm saying if I pre-order the album) I will only be doing so for research purposes only. If I end up pre-ordering the CD + t-shirt combo I will be doing so for gangsta purposes only. If I end up winning the grand prize ... well, I'll only accept it on behalf of all my Pink is the new Blog peeps ... that's how much y'all mean to me :)
The entire Jolie-Pitt clan is featured in the new issue of the German magazine Gala magazine ... I've never heard of, nor laid eyes upon, Gala magazine before today but they did manage to publish the first paparazzi pictures of Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt out and about with her famous family:
Awww ... little Shiloh is so cute ... she is the spitting image of her daddy Brad Pitt (another newly revealed celebrity baby can't say the same). I love the Jolie-Pitts ... the kids are adorable, the parents are freaking beautiful ... but you gotta wonder what's wrong with them. No one can be that perfect ... maybe little Zahara has a drinking problem? Maddox is into leather? Brad Pitt is the real father of Suri Holmes-Cruise? Well, at least they're all pretty on the outside. [Source]
Justin Timberlake brought his sexy back to the BET studios for an appearance on 106 & Park ... here are a couple photos:
He's just purdy ... what more can I say? [Source]
Victoria Beckham brought her scary ass to the Matthew Williamson Spring '07 show for her latest Fashion Week appearance ... here are a couple photos:
Her bony legs are creepy. I bet you could cut metal with those things. [Source]
Rachel Bilson was an absolute vision at the Hollywood premiere of her new movie The Last Kiss:
She always gets her look just right. She's equal amounts cute, sexy, stylish AND sweet. I'm excited to see The Last Kiss because I hope she ends up doing more movies. Personally, I think she's totally outgrown The OC. [Source]
Here are a bunch of outtake photos from Rachel's Vanity Fair photoshoot:
Can this girl take a bad photo? Okay, maybe the one of her draped across the big exercise ball is a bit much but she really does look great in most photos. Why isn't she in more ad campaigns? If peeps were smart, they'd 86 Mischa Barton and sign up Rachel Bilson ... but that's just my humble opinion. [Source]
Here is your first look at Ashlee Simpson starring as
Heaven only knows if Ashlee can hold her own on the theatrical stage, but those lucky Londoners are gonna get their chance to find out when Ashlee Simpson takes to the Cambridge Theatre stage for a six-week season beginning on September 25. Are you curious and/or masochistic and are planning on catching her performance? Please feel free to send me any photos/reviews :) [Source]
Pink reader Rayann was rummaging thru boxes of her old stuff when she came upon her old high school yearbook ... she was kind enough to send in these scans of superstar stylist Rachel Zoe looking very much like the 9th grader that she was:
Way to rock the '80s hair, Rachel! Even tho Miss Zoe was Miss Rosensweig back in the day, it appears that she had her fingers on the style pulse even back in the day ... assuming that "day" was a day in 1984. I just love how old yearbook photos are society's great equalizer, don't you? [thanks Rayann]
Julian McMahon is on the cover of the new issue of The Advocate magazine looking all sweaty and dirty ... and here are the rest of the sweaty/dirty pictures from the rest of his photoshoot:
He's hot. I'm totally bummed that I'm missing out on new eps of Nip/Tuck while I'm here in Paris. Thankfully, I have my DVR recording all the goodness back home. Am I missing anything good so far. [Source]
And finally, here is the last known photo taken of the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin before his untimely death last week:
Steve is posing with marine biologist Chris Jones aboard Jones' boat Croc 1 just two days before Steve was killed in that horrific dive last week. It's such a great photo of the Crocodile Hunter happily baring his famous smile ... I just had to post it. It's a great way to remember such a nice guy. [Source]

I was a bit surprised that it wasn't as enormous as I thought it would be. I guess being used to the garish skyscrapers at home has distorted my perspective. Nonetheless, the church was an amazing sight to behold. We spent some time inside the church which was absolutely amazing ... we loved it. Afterwards, we made our way to the Pantheon to visit the crypts where Victor Hugo, Jean-Jacque Rousseau, Marie & Pierre Curie and others are entombed. While I love cemeteries, I find crypts very creepy and far too enclosed ... but still, we had to visit. We ended our night in front of the Hotel de Ville where the famous photograph The Kiss by Robert Doisneau was taken. Yes, we did kiss in front of the Hotel but not as dramatically as the photograph ... and no, there isn't a picture :)
We stopped to enjoy a couple plates of amazing crepes and cafe au lait before we did some shopping. We returned to our hotel to freshen up and then caught an evening showing of Marie Antoinette:
I have been looking forward to seeing this movie for so long, I'm glad I got to catch it here on my Parisian holiday. Firstly, I was bummed that they didn't serve popcorn in the theater ... but the insanely comfortable chairs made up for my disappointment. I gotta say, I really liked this movie. It is classic Sofia Coppola (with the sweeping landscape shots and impeccable attention to detail). The lead-in to the story is very slow ... it takes quite a while for thing action to get going. I suspect this slow lead-in is meant to put more focus on the opulence in each scene. Asia Argento and Molly Shannon are really great in their roles ... while Molly can easily play the very funny comedic role, she is equally adept at playing horribly bitchy as well. I loved the way the '80s music was used in the movie trailer but it's a bit misleading ... I figured the music would be used more thruout the film. I was very happy and surprised to hear that Hong Kong Garden by Siouxsie and the Banshees was used in the masquerade ball scene -- very, very cool. This is the first time the Marie Antoinette story was presented to me strictly from her point-of-view. Sofia portrays her as pretty much just a girl who is thrust into her role as Queen who lived pretty much in a bubble and did the best she could with her circumstances. I'm very much looking forward to reading the book Marie Antoinette: A Journey by Antonia Fraser (which the movie is based on) to try and get a better feel for this point-of-view. Kirsten Dunst, for her part, was great. She came across as any regular 18 year old girl who suddenly becomes Queen and then has to deal with the ramifications. I really liked the way gossip was used in the storyline ... it made a connection with me that I might've missed otherwise. I liked the ending ... I was afraid it was going to go too far ... I think it ended perfectly. Basically ... the party was over. The end.
It rained last night ... a lot ... which hindered our going out plans ... today is cloudy and is supposed to rain some more. So, I think we're spending our day at a museum. The rain is supposed to go away by tomorrow but honestly, I'm not complaining at all. Somehow, the rain in Paris is a lot more fun to be in than the rain back home.
I'm out.
