Homeward Bound

Thankfully, I managed to get home from Detroit without incident. It's not so much that I was worried that something else might go wrong on my return flight to LA but ... well ... let's just say I was wary. My flight was actually very enjoyable. But enough of all of that ... let's get to it ...

Tori Spelling lost a large portion of her baby weight yesterday when she finally gave birth to her first child, a boy named Liam Aaron, by way of C-section yesterday afternoon ... but the big news surrounding the birth is that Tori finally made up with her mother Candy Spelling just in time for the little tyke's arrival:

Actress Tori Spelling has given birth to a baby boy with husband actor Dean McDermott, Access Hollywood has confirmed. Liam Aaron McDermott, who weighed 6 lbs, 6 oz, was born March 13th at a Los Angeles hospital. Access has learned the baby was delivered via C-section and that Tori's mother Candy was at the hospital at the time of the delivery. Tori arrived at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles around 9:30 p.m. on Monday after her water broke. In an interview today, Tori's brother, Randy Spelling talked to Access Hollywood's Maria Menounos about the recent reconciliation between Tori and her mother. "Have your mom and Tori been talking?" Access' Maria Menounos asked Randy. "They've been communicating back and forth. I know my mom is there with her right now. She's been with her all morning," Randy revealed. "Do you think the birth of the first grandchild is the only thing that could bring them together?" Maria asked. "I think it's a culmination of things. I think when you're family, you have your ups and downs, but hopefully you all come back together," Randy said. "And I'm sure the baby just makes that happen quicker." Well, it's about time all the bickering came to an end. It's nice that the baby's birth could be used as a tool to heal the rift between the Spelling women ... let's see if it lasts. Head on over to the Access Hollywood website to see an amazingly unflattering photo of Tori Spelling as she gets wheeled into the hospital. Dean McDermott looks thrilled ... In London, Madonna and her BFF Stella McCartney were both on hand for the UK debut party for the new M by Madonna clothing line for H&M. Here are a few pics from the red carpet:

Madge looks great ... tho, I'm not sure I'm feeling the hair over the eye thing (unfortunately, that was a look I tried back in high school that was met with disastrous results ... don't ask ... I am still living with the shame of my senior photos). She looks utterly thrilled that her new clothing line is just about to hit store shelves (M by Madonna arrives in H&M stores worldwide on March 22). Stella, on the other hand, looks pissed off that she even bothered to show up. [Source, Source]

Michael Lohan, the famously estranged father of Lindsay Lohan, was released from prison yesterday and he's ready to mend fences with his little girl. One hopes that his nearly 2-year stint in the big house taught him a thing or two about how to be a father ... here are pictures of Michael as he makes his way to his attorney's office on his first day as a free man:

Michael Lohan said now that he is a free man, he wants to repair his unsteady relationship with his 20-year-old daughter. "I'm going to wait, and when she sees I'm walking the walk, I'm hopeful she'll open the door," he told Newsday in Wednesday's editions. He was released from Collins Correctional Facility near Buffalo on Tuesday, Linda Foglia, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Corrections, told CBS Interactive ... Lohan told Newsday that while he was in prison, he went to Bible college and became a minister with the Assemblies of God Ministry. "I want to help people," he said. "I don't want them to fall into the same traps I did." Um, if I recall correctly one of those traps he fell into was trying to pilfer money away from his wealthy daughter ... isn't that right, or am I thinking of another greedy parent of a child actor? In any regard, the man has paid his debt to society and it would be great if minister Lohan could reconnect with his daughter. Heaven help them both. [Source]

David Beckham was lookin' pretty damn F-I-N-E as he made an appearance at the Celebration Match between his old team Manchester United and Europe XI in Manchester, England yesterday afternoon:

Becks always looks great but I think he looks especially delish in that suit. Come to think of it, Becks looks amazing in every suit he wears. I don't know what Victoria Beckham did to deserve that man but she better be enjoying it or else. [Source]

In other Beckham news, it appears that the family has finally decided on a "house" to purchase here in LA. It is being reported that the Beckhams have made an offer on a $20 million dollar humble abode that used to belong to Meg Ryan:

Victoria and David Beckham have put in an offer on a Bel Air mansion that once belonged to Meg Ryan, it was revealed today. The celebrity pair have been searching for a house in Los Angeles since it was announced that David would be moving to US soccer team, LA Galaxy. And it seems that Posh has set her heart on the seven-bedroom, six-bathroom house in the exclusive district of Bel Air ... As well as multiple living quarters, the house boasts ocean views, a games room, private gym and sauna, swimming pool and massive back garden. Bel Air estate agent Joel Cunningham, who reportedly showed the stick-thin star round the property, said: "Mrs Beckham was very impressed with the property overall, especially the ocean views which can be enjoyed from the bedroom. "She also was impressed by the close proximity to the local amenities and schools. She was absolutely smitten with the architecture and garden, which is nearly 100 years old and has flowing vines and willow trees." ... He added: "In addition to the large 8ft high security fence surrounding the property, there's also a front wall and gates that are even higher than the massive fence, at a massive 11ft." According to 'Heat' magazine, the asking price for the mansion is $20million, and the Beckhams have made an offer just over this. Damn ... looks pretty swanky. This sounds like the perfect place to raise a family ... an extremely rich and possibly growing family. Good luck on the offer, Beckhams ... I know that buying a house can be a pain in the ass these days. [Source]

Elton John appears to be getting a little more reserved ... a touch less flamboyant ... as he enters his golden years. How else does one explain the conservative outfit that he wore to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday and his own upcoming 60th birthday?

Here he is, dressed up in characteristically flamboyant manner as a Russian general as he helped celebrate artist Sam Taylor-Wood's 40th birthday at a fancy dress party in the East End. While Sir Elton - who is also celebrating his 60th birthday - looked as if he was getting ready to inspect the May Day parade on Red Square, his partner David Furnish came in a US Marine captain's dress uniform, proving that yes, it really is true what they have been saying - the Cold War IS over. You know ... it's a pretty good rule of thumb that when old men start wearing military uniforms out in public that they are pretty much going crazy (I suppose the same can be said for Michael Jackson at any age). The other gents at the shindig (Hugh Grant, Sir Paul McCartney and Sting) all looked great in their finery. Elton just looked like he should be muttering to himself on the porch of the VFW hall down the street. [Source]

Awwwww ... Pete Doherty and Kate Moss are enjoying a relaxing holiday in the country this week as they celebrate Pete's 28th birthday (which was Monday). Here are adorable pics of the pair packing up their car for a little ride out into the countryside:

I don't get those two, but PeteMoss appear to really love one another. I'm having a hard time picturing Pete serenading Kate with his guitar under a tree somewhere (mainly because I'm so used to seeing Pete passed out on the ground with a needle sticking out of his arm) but he must be doing something right to keep Kate under his spell. Bless. [Source]

Lily Allen looks fun ... especially when she runs into a band of paparazzi that she doesn't especially like:

She has an impressive high kick ... as I'm sure the British paps can attest to. [Source, Source]

Oh no ... it looks like the stress is finally getting to Hilary Duff:

Good Charlotte have embarked on a promo tour for their new album Good Morning Revival (which hits stores in a couple of weeks) and Pink reader Niko was lucky enough to catch their first Good Morning Revival show in Copenhagen last night:

Niko reports that the show was a short session concert which consisted of only 10 songs ... but 3 of those songs were new tracks of their new album. It appears the boys will be touring pretty extensively in Europe and Asia for the next few months as no US dates have been announced yet (that I can tell). I have it on good authority that the album is amazing ... I can't wait for y'all to hear it. [thanks Niko]

For no reason at all ... here are a couple photos of Rodrigo Santoro on his way to Hyde nightclub earlier this week:

Buffy lives! The much-anticipated 8th season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer debuts today -- in comic book form:

Buffy creator Joss Whedon promises that the new comic series will carry on the storyline as it was left off in season 7 when the show ended its television run a couple of years ago. While I'd much rather have a live-action version of the continuing tale (WITH all the original actors), I realize that that can't happen. This comic series sounds like a pretty good compromise to me. From what I understand, there will a lot of surprising developments introduced in the storyline ... and beloved characters will be brought back. I am very excited to find out how things have been going since ... well, Sunnydale imploded. God ... I love Buffy :) [Source]

Nine Inch Nails have officially released the first single, Survivalism, of their new album Year Zero ... here is the cover artwork:

The song can be downloaded from iTunes or purchased on import CDs. Additionally, the song is available for download at the official NIN website in multitrack session form so that users can make their own remixes. Trent Reznor promises to release every song off the album in this manner so that fans can create their own music with his music. [Source]

Additionally, here is a fun picture of Trent Reznor walking the streets of London:

Le sigh. He is so cool. [Source]

Okay ... some of you might want to skip this next part. NBC has updated the Heroes website with new production photos from the next new ep of Heroes (set to air on April 23). The pictures give away significant information on what is going to happen in that episode ... someone will die and someone will finally get to reunite with a long lost family member:

You'll have to visit the site if you want to see who's going to Peace the Spork Out but I just had to post these cute pictures of Clare meeting her father, Nathan Petrelli. So cute! I can't wait for the show to return in April ... I just know the season is going to end with a bang. [Source]

And finally ... here is a little game for you ... can you guess which Hollywood "It" Girl has finally reached the age of puberty and has finally found the need to start wearing a training bra?

Click above to find out who it is

It's unclear if the celeb has received her first visit from "Aunt Flo" or not but the fact that she's *finally* old enough to wear a bra means that she is well on her way to womanhood. [Source]

Les News:
So yeah ... I made it home without incident ... no emergency landings, no delays at all ... just a run-of-the-mill plane ride from Detroit to LA. Twas nice. But, my night wasn't totally void of danger. The cab driver who drove me home, I suspect, was a little bit insane. He drove like a maniac, honked his horn at cars that were too far away to hear him, he yelled at other drivers and muttered to himself under his breath the whole way home. Thankfully I only live about 10 mins. from the Burbank Airport. I didn't say a word, mainly cuz he was getting me home in record time (approx. 6 mins.) but I did strap myself in and prayed a little bit.

Tonight, my David flies into town to spend a few days with me before he flies off to parts unknown on the other side of the world (actually, I know what parts he's flying to but it's a secret for now -- shhh!). Also, Jim and I are going to a really cool event tonight, the Max Factor salutes Hollywood Fashion show at Social Hollywood. The event will be hosted by Carmen Electra, who I am *very* excited to see again! I hope to have fun pictures to share tomorrow.

That is all ... have a great Wednesday! I'm out.
