I don't even know how to start this blog post. I am currently in a holding room in the Las Vegas airport penned up with other travelers. My US Airways flight (#2800) out of Burbank to Detroit had to make an emergency landing in the middle of the Mojave Desert after the pilot informed us that there was a fire in the cockpit. Thankfully we landed safely and without incident but, and I kid you not, we were just bused to Las Vegas. People, the entire plane full of people were herded onto a bus and 3 hours later here we are.
I have about 3 more hours until I fly off to Phoenix and then on to Detroit ... I will not be able to write today because of all of this bullshit. Trust me, I am very thankful that things did not turn out tragically worse (when the pilot tells you there will be an emergency landing and not to panic ... you start to panic a little) but I am not looking forward to the rest of today.
UPDATE: After even MORE airline delays (don't ask) I finally arrived, safe and sound, home in Detroit at approx. 5:30pm. Thank you all for the amazing support! I <3 U all! Things should be back to normal tomorrow! XO
