Confirmed! Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have finally publicly confirmed that they are having a baby together. In an ABC interview with Diane Sawyer, scheduled to air on Thursday and Friday mornings' Good Morning America and then again on 20/20 on Friday night, Nic/Joel announce the news that she is, indeed, 4 months pregs with his baby:
In an exclusive television interview with ABC News' Diane Sawyer, Nicole Richie confirms for the first time she is pregnant with Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden's baby. "Yes, I am. We are. I'm almost four months," Richie told Sawyer. Richie, who is the adopted daughter of musician Lionel Richie, is a favorite paparazzi target and subject of gossip magazines, which have speculated endlessly about her pregnancy, her weight, drug use and relationships with other celebrities. Richie was arrested on Dec. 12 on charges of driving under the influence, after she was allegedly spotted driving the wrong way down a highway in Burbank, Calif. The police said she admitted that she'd smoked marijuana and took the prescription painkiller Vicodin. Richie pleaded guilty last Friday, and was sentenced to four days in jail, which she has until Sept. 28 to serve ... "I have a responsibility and it's something that I did wrong, and if I could personally apologize to every single person that has lost a loved one from drunk driving I would," Richie says about her recent guilty plea. "And unfortunately, I can't, but this is my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult." In light of all the negative news in Nicole's life right now (you know, with that whole jail thing she's got goin' on) it's nice that she has some happy news to share with the world. I can't imagine what she must be going thru right now, dealing with the prospect of serving a 4-day jail sentence while being pregs but I'm sure she's very much looking forward to getting the whole ugly ordeal over with so she can focus on her new baby. I guess I sorta saw this coming but hearing the official confirmation is a bit ... strange. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are going to be parents, y'all. Wow. Congrats all around :) [Source]
