Brick House-warming
David Beckham has returned to Los Angeles days after rushing to the UK to be at his sick father's bedside. The 32-year-old footballer looked worn-out as he arrived at Heathrow Airport with wife Victoria. Earlier today the England star reportedly spent more than three hours with his 59-year-old father Ted who was said to be "doing well" following life-saving open heart surgery after he suffered a massive coronary last Wednesday. I couldn't be more pleased at this news. I, as I'm sure many folks, am very happy for Becks that things seem to be working out well for his father. I'm sure Becks and Posh would much prefer to stay at his father's bedside for as long as possible but the fact that their 3 boys are back in LA prolly has a lot to do with their return. Shoot, I'm so happy for Becks that I'm not even gonna say a thing about the black traveling hat that he so loves to wear :) [Source]
In other happy (if somewhat unfortunate-looking) couples news, Jennifer Lopez and her undead hubby Darc Anthony continue to wow audiences with the launch of their En Concierto Tour this weekend at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, NJ as they played their second night of the tour last night. Here is a shot of the couple backstage lookin' very much like another famed couple that y'all might recognize:
The yellow dress does look lovely on J. Lo ... and that's about all the compliments I've got left. Even still, I think I may have to at least try and see this show live when it makes its way to my area. I've never seen J. Lo perform live and I think I'd love to see La Diva Latina turn it out live and in person. [Source]
In other performance news, the Pussycat Dolls continue their love affair with women who look like drag queens as they had Tori Spelling serve as the host/MC in their Las Vegas show at Pure nightclub at Caesar's Palace:

I don't get the PCD's fascination with featuring women who look like men dressed as women ... but I do see that if that's your thing then having Tori Spelling play hostess makes total sense. I don't get how this outfit is supposed to look sexy ... she just looks like both The Captain and Tennille all rolled into one ... with a collagen problem. [Source]
Elsewhere in Las Vegas this weekend, our favorite intern, Ross Mathews, celebrated his birthday with a few hundred friends at Tao nightclub at the Venetian Hotel and Casino Resort this past Friday night ... here are a few pics:

Ross has to be one of the coolest guys I've met since moving to LA and I'm so glad that he had such a fun birthday. I keep giving him a hard time since we have a standing roller-skating date that we need to go on ... but I know we'll be hitting the roller rink very soon. Happy Birthday, Ross! xoxo [Source]
For some bizarre reason, Heidi Montag (most probably at the suggestion of her finacee Spencer Pratt) thought it would be a really cool idea to pose for a Baywatch inspired photoshoot:
I would imagine that the idea behind this shoot was that since Heidi recently acquired new Pamela Anderson-like breast implants then it only seems natural to copy one of Pamela's best known looks (maybe for her wedding invitations?). Clearly, she looks ridiculous ... and I can't believe that Heidi actually did this shoot with a straight face, in all seriousness. I guess it goes to show that people will do pretty much anything for a little attention. [Source]
In other Hills girls news, Audrina Paige decided to take a page from the Britney Spears playbook in order to garner a little attention of her own:
Thankfully, Audrina wore undies. I would hate to have had to burn my eyeballs out of their sockets with acid just because Audrina was trying to make it onto TMZ.com [Source]
Let's bring the hawtness back ... Milo Ventimiligia is featured in the October issue of Best Life magazine, lookin' sexy as all hell in these black and white, Fall-inspired photos:
Milo is one of those rare folks that can look equally sexy while he wearing clothes in addition to when he's not. Personally, I wouldn't mind a little more of the latter type of photos but I ain't complainin'. The man looks good in a suit. [Source]
The Spice Girls have updated their official website with the news that the lucky folks who registered at the site and have been selected for a chance to buy tickets will be recieving emails with instructions on how to do so. Happy Day! Additionally, the cover artwork for the special edition version of their Greatest Hits album has been released ... which is almost as boring as the lame-ass cover artwork for the regular version of the album:
In case y'all are intertested to know what songs will be included in the Greatest Hits album, here is the rumored tracklisting:
1. Wannabe
2. Say You'll Be There
3. 2 Become 1
4. Who Do You Think You Are
5. Mama
6. Spice Up Your Life
7. Too Much
8. Stop
9. Viva Forever
10. Goodbye
11. Holler
12. Let Love Lead the Way
13. Woman
14. The Lady
Meh. Color me unimpressed. I'm excited to hopefully see the Spices live on stage (and I use the word "live" very loosely) but all this pre-tour hype and Greatest Hits album news is pretty disappointing. It just feels like they're mucking up this great chance to make a huge splash with this reunion tour by 1.) making it really difficult for folks to get tickets (why can't the tix just go on sale so everyone has a chance to buy them) and 2.) providing fans with extremely boring, extremely lackluster promo materials to get them excited. [Source]
What they need to be doing is reminding fans why they even should want to see them live in the first place. My friend Adriana, who is an amazing photographer, sent me these photos of the Spice Girls on their first full US tour back in 1998 when they appeared at the Palace of Auburn Hills just outside of Detroit, MI. Geri Ginger Spice Halliwell had just left the group but the girls hit the road anyways ... here are a few of Adriana's pics:
Love them or not, these are the Spice Girls that took the world by storm ... as the time approaches for the Spices to get back together and hit the road I really think they need to do a better job of making people care. [thanks Adriana]
Annnnnd, it's that time of the week again ... time to take a gander at the Hot Dude of the Week. This week we've got Bryan ... a hottie who is wearing a whole lotta bling ... and not a thing else:
There is something about the subtle scruffiness that makes this pic look even sexier ... the hot pecs and abs don't hurt either. Bryan might be wearing too many accessories but considering his entire outfit is comprised solely of necklaces, I think we can cut him some slack. The boy is hot. The end. [Source]
And finally ... I have to send out lots of Birthday Lurve to my boy Mark back home in Detroit who is celebrating his birthday today:
Mark turns another year older today and decided to spend the day with his gorge girlfriend Sarah (my absolute BFF) at the cider mill ... which is just so cute. Mark is one of the most genuine people I know in life and I'm very lucky to have him as a friend. I'm bummed I can't be there with him to celebrate today but we'll be drankin' together very soon. Happy Birthday, Mark! XOXO
Les News:
- Pamela Anderson and Rick Solomon apply for a marriage lisence, you know, cuz Pammy pie hasn't been married enough.
- Whoops! Extorting Tom Cruise could be hazardous to your health.
- Paris Hilton and David Letterman are dunzo.
- T-Pain is 23, Lacey Chabert is 25 and Monica Bellucci is 39 years old today. Click HERE to see who else is celebrating a birthday today.
- Bobby Brown is lookin' for Jebus.
If Dogtown and Z-Boys told the tale of how professional skateboarding got its start then The Man Who Souled the World tells the tale of how professional skateboarding became so commercial. Steve Rocco, a skater himself, decided to take on the big skateboarding companies and make a company of his own in his how DIY style ... and managed to turn World Industries skateboarding company into the biggest of its kind in the world. There are a lot of amazing skate scenes in the doco and I was absolutely intrigued with the way that skateboarding culture flourished in the late 80s/early 90s. We all thoroughly enjoyed the film and are all extremely proud of all of Kirsten's hard work. The film opens in limited release this week with all showtimes/dates listed HERE. Check it out!!
After the screening, Mike and I had to hightail it to WeHo for the Grand Opening of the new Brick and Mortar Flagship store event. Mark and Evan, the store owners, were gracious enough to invite me out for the event that I simply couldn't miss out. Here are a few pics from the soiree:
Andrew DiPalma was the mastermind behind last night's fun party and really went out of his way to make sure that Mike and I had a great time. Guy B provided some musical entertainment and it was clear, everyone in attendance had a great time. I got to meet Miss Britney Valentine, the best Britney Spears impersonator IMHO, at the party and also got to run into my old friend Michael. We really just had a great time. The new Brick and Mortar Flagship Store can be found at 8713 Santa Monica Blvd. right near the heart of West Hollywood. I had so much fun partying there ... but I can't wait to go back so I can shop :)
We weren't quite finished yet ... Mike and I met up with Paul and Darion at HERE Lounge to get our dance and drink on ...
... which made for a well-rounded, really fun night -- where I got to meet and take a photo with Pink reader Stacy :)
UGH ... I think I'm all partied out for a while. I'm gonna lie low today ... maybe venture out for some food ... but just chill as much as I can. I hope y'all are having a great, relaxing/fun weekend. I'm out.
