Just Breathe

Ack! Since I have a semi-strict "no alarm clock" policy in effect on the weekends, I'm never quite sure when I'll actually regain consciousness from the night before ... today was a doozy ... I slept well past noon, hence today's post's lateness. But, I'm running a sweet-ass concert for a pair of free Tori Amos tickets this weekend so that kinda rocks! Get those entries in so I can, hopefully, meet you at the show this December here in LA :) Alright ... let's get to it ...

Here is our first look at the proposed cover artwork for Britney Spears's new single Gimme More, according to Sony BMG Germany:

But, astute PITNB readers will recall that this photo has already been used as the official promo picture of Britney for the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards last week. Hmm. Either Brit Brit really loves this pic, enough to recycle it so soon ... or it's the only new picture of Britney available for use as cover artwork for the new single. I don't mind the pic, actually, but I don't love it as cover artwork. I hope this is just a mock-up for the promo single and not what will be used as the actual artwork. [Source]

In other Britness, Entertainment Weekly decided to put Britney Spears on the cover of their new issue (on newsstands now) almost a full week after her disappointing MTV VMAs performance -- which only goes to show that, good or bad, Britney really knows how to make headlines irregardless of what she does. As soon as I pulled the mag out of my mailbox I was immediately reminded of a previous issue of EW magazine which featured Britters on the cover back in 2003:

Incidentally, Jordan who runs BreatheHeavy.com had the same recollection. Honestly, while I feel the cover headline "Oh, the Horror!" is going a bit far, I have to say that I am very impressed with all the attention that Britney is still getting out of her "failed" performance. For all the negative fallout that has been generated by her performance (and the endless rumors that have been flying around since), I think it's very telling that major entertainment news outlets are still devoting so much attention to it. Truly, there is no such thing as bad publicity ... her comeback performance may not have lived up to everyone's (including my) expectations but I find it hard to believe that she would've garnered this much attention had she put on an amazing performance. Everyone always remembers (and talks about) the bad stuff ... no one does "bad stuff" quite like Britney Spears. [Source]

And speaking of Jordan from BreatheHeavy.com, he was lucky enough to be granted a private audience with Miss Britney Spears herself in Las Vegas last weekend. Jordan posted these pics to his My Space profile and I immediately seethed with jealousy ... but I must give him props for getting to meet our dear Britney. Jordan, you are the man ... well done! XO [Source]

Moving on ... Jamie Foxx was the recipient of the 2,347th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday afternoon ... here are a few pics from the ceremony:

Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx was immortalized on Hollywood's "Walk of Fame" on Friday, becoming the 2,347th celebrity to have a star bearing his name laid on the sidewalk. Foxx, winner of the best actor Academy Award in 2005 for his portrayal of soul singer Ray Charles in "Ray," paid tribute to his grandmother during a ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard. "My grandmother's gotta be spreading her wings and flying around in heaven, just so happy," the 39-year-old entertainer quipped to reporters ... Meanwhile Foxx had words of support for troubled singer Britney Spears, whose comeback performance at the MTV Video Music Awards last weekend has been savaged by critics this week. "I think Britney’s gonna be fine," Foxx said. "I think that she was courageous to get up there and do her thing. I wish her well for that." !!! Even Jamie Foxx, on the momentous occasion of receiving his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, felt it necessary to speak out in support of Britney Spears (who, mind you, received her own WoF star years ago). Fools who are calling for her retirement are way off base ... but I'm digressing. Much congrats goes out to Jamie Foxx for this latest accomplishment. I'm not a superfan of all that he does (I could really do without the singing) but I do think he is a hugely talented actor and I'm happy that his hard work is being recognized in this manner. Our favorite Heroes got together at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood last night to throw a little pre-Emmy celebration party courtesy of Perry Ellis and Vanity Fair magazine. Here are a few pics from the big affair:

I love that new Hero Kristin Bell and honorary Hero Natalie Maines were also in the hiz to party with the principle cast. Milo Ventimiligia has a hard time looking bad, let me tell you -- the boy is just hawt ... and Zachary Quinto was lookin' pretty fly as well. We are only weeks away from the premiere of the second season of Heroes and I couldn't be more excited ... the cast is only hours away from finding out if they're taking home Emmy glory. I've got all my fingers and toes crossed for them ... I honestly think that they're gonna be a happy bunch come Emmy night tomorrow ;) [Source]

Paris Hilton was seen out and about last night here in Hollywood, first hitting up Mr. Chow before taking the party to Les Deux nightclub ... and she is going out of her way to dispel the rumor that she is planning on adopting a bunch of blonde little babies, calling the notion "retarded" ... which is exactly the type of response you'd expect from Miss Hilton:

Though Paris Hilton has declared that her Simple Life costar Nicole Richie is bound to be "the best mom ever," the hotel heiress won't be having children of her own anytime soon. "Someone just said that I'm adopting four blonde babies," Hilton, 26, told PEOPLE at Friday's Kate Somerville White Room Emmy suite in West Hollywood. "That's retarded. No, I'm not." Asked if she'd want to adopt, Hilton said, "Maybe, but I want to have my own children." The unattached Hilton, who in recent weeks has been seen with Entourage star Adrian Grenier, 31, insists that the actor is not a romantic interest. "Totally just friends," says Hilton. "We met a couple years ago [and] we've stayed friends. He's been like kind of a mentor to me, teaching me about the environment and what I can do." She adds, "I think it's cool to talk to someone in L.A. who has more to talk about than all this artificial crap people talk about. It's nice to talk to someone who's real." Um ... LOL! I don't even know what to say about that last part, so I'll just let you LOL to yourselves as well. I cannot, for the life of me, picture Paris Hilton as a mother (even with that ridiculous mom hair she was rockin' at the VMAs last weekend) so I say kudos to her downplaying the desire to adopt. While I can't say I'll feel entirely sympathetic to any children borne of her well-known loins (some people are just born unlucky) I think I'd feel really bad for some poor orphan that she might pick out to adopt. Just say no to babies, Paris! [Source]

You know who doesn't have a problem with adopting multiple babies? Angelina Jolie. The world is well aware of her desire to adopt as many children as possible (and, frankly, I believe that she is really up to the task) but that doesn't mean that she can't continue to birth babies of her own. Brad Pitt has gone on the record to say that they'd love to have more babies of their own as well ... which is why these new pics of Ange with her eldest children Maddox and Zahara Jolie-Pitt are very interesting:

Sure, it's easy to see baby bumps in pictures like these but you just never know with a celeb like Angelina Jolie. I think being a mother is the greatest joy in her life (with her plans to save the universe coming in a close second) so I wouldn't be surprised if Brangelina were working on a new natural born child to add to the brood. I really would believe Angelina is pregs before I'd believe that someone like J. Lo is (tho, she is overdue herself). [Source]

So far, Ashlee Simpson has stayed away from baby bump speculation (tho, behavior like hers at the Belvedere Vodka Suite AfterParty hosted by Pete Wentz in Las Vegas last week might end up getting her in this sort of trubs one day) even tho she and boyfriend Pete Wentz appear to be going strong in their relationship. Here is a cute pic of Ashl33n out for a little shopping trip together in Beverly Hills this week:

The couple did a little bit of his and hers shopping at Dior, which is exactly how a Hollywood couple should spend their time together. Shopping definitely makes the heart grow fonder. [Source]

Speaking of fonder hearts, I am happy to report that Amy Winehouse and new hubby Blake Fielder-Civil have gone weeks since their last ass-beating fight and spent a lovely night together in celebration of Amy's 24th birthday last night:

This new pic of the happy couple is a far cry from the bloodied mess they looked a few weeks ago when they got to ass-whoopin' one another in fits of rage. I am really pulling for Amy Winehouse to get her shizz straight and clean up her act for good. She is way too talented to end up, you know, dead or whatever. [Source]

Los Angeles Family magazine has decided to put the cast of High School Musical, including the very unshy Vanessa Hudgens, on the cover of their latest issue proclaiming the Disney phenoms Rockin' Role Models:

It is my understanding that this issue of Los Angeles Family magazine features its very first centerfold. Hot! [Source]

And finally, it's time for this week's batch of photos sent in by Pink is the new Blog readers -- my girls Connie and Jessica ran into Pink readers Sarah and Kate at a Woman's Softball Tournament in upstate Michigan last week (Holla to the folks in Tawas, I used to go fishing there with family friends when I was a wee lad) and they all sent in their cute pic -- Kristi and new hubby Joe send in an amazing picture from their recent wedding day (after they honeymooned in Jamaica) -- Hillary in San Diego, CA sends in a brave pic of herself all decked out in pink right before going in for back surgery (I understand things went well and she is on her way to a successful recovery) -- Amanda (with her new Japanese friends) sends in a pic all the way from Tokyo, Japan where she was on holiday with her hubby -- Amy and Kate send in a pic from the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas after David and I ran into them on our way out of LV last Monday:

Much love and congrats to you all. The amazing photos continue to stream in day after day and I love seeing them all. Thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to send in your pics. They all mean so much to me and they always remind me what a lucky person I am. XOXOXO

I want to give a special shout-out to Pink readers Amanda and Chris from Springfield, MA ... I <3 U guys, thank you so much for the lurve!! xoxo

Les News:
Yesterday afternoon I finally took the plunge and went out to purchase a new computer. As much as I love my current HP laptop, it has been giving me trubs for the past few months (I may have mentioned this once or twice a million times here on the blog) so I finally went out and got a replacement. I've been eyeing the Sony VAIO TZ series for some time now (since it's about the size of a magazine and I've always wanted a fully-functioning computer that basically fits in my back pocket) and finally decided to pick one up last night. It's amazing ... and still in its box. I've had no time to set it all up but I am looking forward to getting to work on my new badboy ASAP.

After my trip to the Sony Store yesterday I met up with Mike and his sister Jill at The Grove for dinner ... where I got to meet a few Pink readers:

Lia, Tara and Stephanie and I took this cute pic right in front of the fountain ... and then a little bit later I got to meet Pink reader Michael as well. Our dinner was fab ... we just kept eating, it was great. After dinner, we met up with Paul to dance the rest of the night away at Eleven. Usually we spent our Friday night's at Pop Starz but I think Eleven might have to be the new destination ... the go-go boys were HOT, the drinks were strong and the crowd was really fun. Neither Mike nor I brought our cameras so we have no pics to share :(

This afternoon, we are all getting together again for a BBQ ... and then who knows what. I hope you are having a great weekend as well ... I am out!!!
