Are You Ready For Some Football?

Are all y'all football fans UBERexcited for the Super Bowl game today? Yeah? Me ... not so much. I was pretty invested last year since Detroit was hosting the big game but my interest has since waned. Mark and Sarah are throwing a big Super Bowl party today ... as is David of all people (don't ask, he got a new TV). Me ... I'm gonna spend the day taking pictures around town and will watch the commercials and Prince half-time performance on my DVR later. It's a beautiful day ... so let's get to it so I can get to it.

Britney Spears continues her little holiday in New York City this week by being seen at all the hot parties ... er, well not really any hot parties ... she's mostly been photographed on the streets of NYC lookin' as if she has no concept of what Fashion Week is at all:

OY ... that girl. Why do I love her so? Anyways ... apparently it's very cold in NYC (which would explain the need for that ridiculous parka) and apparently Britney finds herself still searching for a spiritual path to follow. You will note that she is carrying a couple of books in the last two photos -- one of those books is Toltec Shaman Don Miguel Ruiz' book The Four Agreements. Here is a short description of the book from Ruiz' official website:

Everything we do is based on agreements we have made - agreements with ourselves, with other people, with God, with life. But the most important agreements are the ones we make with ourselves. In these agreements we tell ourselves who we are, how to behave, what is possible, what is impossible. One single agreement is not such a problem, but we have many agreements that come from fear, deplete our energy, and diminish our self-worth.

The Four Agreements themselves are:
  1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
  2. Don't Take Anything Personally
  3. Don't Make Assumptions
  4. Always Do Your Best
Er ... I thought that Britney was checking out Judaism? Well ... at least the girl is exploring ways to help her control her life. I think it's great that she's searching for a path to follow ... it's *got* to be better than any path she can forge for herself. [Source]

Down in South Beach, FL Jennifer Lopez and her undead husband Marc Anthony put on a little pre-Super Bowl performance last night to get everyone excited for the big game ... here are a few pictures from their concert:

Jenny Lo looked great before the show ... and she looked great on stage ... but as soon as the show was finished she looked like she was ready to pass out. Either she zapped her own energy by putting on a F-I-E-R-C-E performance or she's just getting older than she thinks. [Source]

Here in Hollywood, the Director's Guild Awards were passed out for excellence in Directorial Achievement ... which doesn't sound very sexy but is important nonetheless. Here are a few of the celebs who were on hand for the awards:

Martin Scorsese won the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film award for The Departed and other winners included directors Jon Cassar (for 24), Richard Shephard (Ugly Betty) and Kenny Ortega (High School Musical -- which I just watched for the first time this week). Props go out to the directors who make the movies and TV shows that we love to watch ... even if none of them are very sexy at all. Click HERE for the full list of DGA winners. [Source]

Tori Spelling is just about ready to pop her baby out so she culled together some friends and threw herself a baby shower ... which, of course, was the perfect fodder for her upcoming Oxygen Network reality TV show:

Tori Spelling's baby shower turned into a paparazzi frenzy ... [which was held yesterday at] Elixir, a funky tea and tonic cafe and shop in West Hollywood ... But the shutterbugs weren't the only ones shooting Spelling & Co. I hear that camera crews from Spelling and hubby Dean McDermott's upcoming reality show, Tori & Dean: Inn Love, have also filmed the festivities. The new show follows their decision to use Spelling's $800,000 inheritance from her late dad, Aaron, to buy and then run a bed-and-breakfast in southern California. The series premieres March 21 on the Oxygen network ... Spelling and McDermott's get-together was coed and hosted by Tupperware. Among the 50 or so guests were Spelling's 90210 chum Jennie Garth and Loni Anderson, her TV mom from So NoTORIous. Spelling's real-life estranged mother, Candy, did not attend. The menu included mini corndogs, cheeseburgers, tuna melts, pigs in a blanket and blueberry lemonade, according to a source. Um ... for real? Her baby shower was hosted by Tupperware?

Um ... I'm at a loss actually. It's a shame Tori's mother Candy didn't attend the event ... maybe she just couldn't be caught dead at a Tupperware party. Even Target is cooler than Tupperware. LOL. [Source]

Here are new pictures of Lindsay Lohan ... not in rehab again:

One hopes that she is really taking her sobriety seriously. Yes, one hopes. [Source]

Pink reader Fash sends in this interesting photo of Emma Watson, who plays Hermoine in the Harry Potter movies, wearing a pretty skimpy bikini:

Apparently, Daniel Radcliffe isn't the only Harry Potter alum who likes to show off their bod. What's with kids these days? [thanks Fash]

Here is the full size Harper's Bazaar magazine cover that features Katie Holmes:

Along with a very nice b/w pic where Katie is showing off her humungous diamond ring. If you look into her eyes you can still see that tiny spark of the old Katie Holmes. I wonder if we'll ever get to see her again. [Source]

Madonna is the latest celeb who has been seen rockin' the fashions of LA designer Christian Audigier:

Somehow the shirt looks much cooler on her than, say, Britney Spears. CA does make some great stuff ... you just gotta know how to wear it. [Source]

Speaking of Madonna ... I finally got a copy of her new The Confessions Tour DVD + CD set and have to say that is is really a treat to watch. The NBC butcher job just ruined the experience of the live show and this DVD goes far in correcting those mistakes. Here are a few screen shots from her infamous Live to Tell performance:

Within the context of the show, Madonna's decision to appear on the cross makes complete sense. I still feel that it was handled with grace and artistic poignancy. The uncut DVD is really amazing to watch ... it is a perfect representation of the live show -- I still got the chills in all the right places like when I saw the the show live in NYC. The CD, on the other hand, leaves much to be desired. 6 songs are cut from the CD and I don't understand why they chose to cut some songs (like Live to Tell) and keep others (2 versions of Sorry). The iTunes version of the CD includes 2 extra songs (Get Together and Ray of Light) so if you're a completist you might want to download that version. In the end, I am very pleased with this set. The DVD is def worth owning. [Source]

It's time for the Hot Dude of the Week ... with all the sunny goodness around the LA area this week, I actually got to wear shorts! So ... in celebration here is a picture of Myles wearing a pair of shorts of his own:

I really hope that no one minds that Myles is wearing boxer shorts. The skimpy shorts are pretty cute ... tho there isn't much room for him to stash his keys ... tho it looks like he's already got something else stashed instead. :) [Source]

And finally ... here is my boo, David Hauslaib's, weekly goss round-up for LX.tv:

It's okay to be jealous.

Les News:
Yesterday was a great day. I was invited to check out an amazing exhibit by an LA artist named Wendell Gladstone at the Robert's and Tilton gallery by Pink reader Lindsay and completely fell in love with his work. You can check out his paintings HERE but I'm telling you, the photos do not do the artwork justice. In person, the massive paintings are awe-inspiring. I was also fortunate enough to come home with a couple of very small Gladstone pieces to hang in my apartment. My home is getting cooler and cooler by the day ... I'm never gonna wanna leave it!

Today, I'm going around town to shoot some pictures for a frame I have hanging in my dining area. Erik and I did this sort of thing for our place in Detroit. I want to take pictures that are distinctly LA without having to resort to taking pictures of things like the Hollywood sign or the Walk of Fame stars. If I snap some good ones, I'll try and post them tomorrow :)

I hope it's bright and sunny where you are ... have a great Sunday! I am out.
