Father Figure

Oh NO! While Britney Spears was brightly-colored and cheerful-looking yesterday, today we find her dressed in drab colors and lookin' all down in the mouth ... I wonder who peed in her Corn Flakes?

While she looks a bit sad, I'm glad to say that she looks pretty good otherwise ... well, if you overlook her horrid footwear. I don't get it ... is she hell-bent on only wearing the fugliest boots available? That girl ... [Source]

Speaking of pissy Spears', here is a very cheerful pic of Jamie Spears, Brit-Brit's daddy, waving hello -- with both hands. It is being reported that Papa Spears is not very happy with his daughter these days ... he says that she has no one to blame but herself for her out-of-control life:

Britney Spears's father has publicly criticized his daughter, saying she blames her family and her manager for problems that are her own fault. In an e-mail to the New York Post's Page Six column, Jamie Spears defends Britney's former manager, Larry Rudolph, whom she reportedly fired April 13. "When Larry Rudolph talked Britney into going into rehab, he was doing what her mother, father and team of professionals with over 100 years of experience knew needed to be done," Spears writes. "She was out of control. Larry was the one chosen by the team to roll up his sleeves and deliver the message, to help save her life. "The Spears family would like to publicly apologize to Larry for our daughter's statements about him over the past few weeks. Unfortunately, she blames him and her family for where she is at today with her kids and career. Larry has always been there for Britney. For this, we will forever be grateful to him." In a recent online video posted by a Los Angeles photography agency, Spears, 25, makes an apparent reference to Rudolph. "My management totally knew what they were doing when they sent me to rehab," she says sarcastically to the camera, giving a double thumbs up. "They were so right." Spears, who checked out of Promises Malibu Treatment Center in March after a month-long stay, told Page Six via her rep: "I am praying for my father. We have never had a good relationship. It's sad that all the men that have been in my life do not know how to accept a real woman's love. I am concentrating on my work and my life right now." Aww ... well, maybe now we know why Britney is lookin' all pissy lately. While I'm sure that Papa Spears really loves his daughter and only wants the best for her I don't know that emailing a letter like this to the New York Post is the best way to get Britney's attention. It seems like the poor girl can't catch a break ... it seems like she's been doing so well lately and then ... this. I'm still convinced she'll be able to turn her life around and make a successful comeback. If she can make it thru stuff like this ... she'll be fine. [Source]

In minor K-Fed news, since we're on the subject of Britney, The Federline was spotted partying with Paris Hilton at the birthday party of Jason Strauss who celebrated at TAO Nightclub at The Venetian Hotel and Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Paris is such a doll, she'll pose with anyone ...

... isn't she such a sport? And thanks so Shanna Moakler ... you can either call or email Paris and tell her yourself! How fun! Click HERE for all the info. [Source]

Filming has begun in Chicago, IL on the set of the new Batman movie The Dark Knight. Here is a great pic of Heath Ledger on the set of the movie who looks to be in costume (well -- possibly ... tho, unfortch not in full make-up) of The Joker:

Additionally, you can see other peeps carrying around boxes with clown faced heads in them. Sweet! I know it's gonna be a long time until we get to see this movie but just think ... last year around this time we were seeing our first pictures from the set of Spider-Man 3 (which doesn't seem so long ago) and now the movie is only a couple weeks away. It's interesting that we now live in a climate where we can watch a movie being made from beginning to end ... thanks to the wonderful InterWeb. I am very much looking forward to more pics from the set of The Dark Knight. [Source]

Ian Ziering is hanging in there on this new season of Dancing with the Stars and he is really taking it seriously ... here are a couple pictures of Ian on his way somewhere with his dancing shoes tied around his neck:

I must admit that I am a bit bothered that Ian thinks it's OK to go out in public wearing manpris but I guess I can cut him some slack. As Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills, 90210 he was never a fashion maven ... in fact, his attire was particularly atrocious, even among the other horrendous articles of clothing worn by the other characters. The poor dear prolly just doesn't know any better. [Source]

Pink reader Joe was lucky enough to attend the Friends & Family Dress Rehearsal concert for Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape Tour in San Diego, CA earlier this week and sends in bunch of amazing pics from the show ... here are a few of my faves:

I saw Gwen on her first solo tour and was hugely impressed with it since she was touring on only one album. This new tour looks like she amped it up a bit. I don't know that I'll get to see Gwen on the road this time around but the show looks amazing. [thanks Joe]

See ... now this is why I love Entertainment Weekly so much ... in this week's issue the magazine has a great little blurb about the Hollywood "It" Girls (and elder wannabes) who take their fashion cues from the illustrious Golden Girls:

As usual, EW magazine never fails to get the story right. I was so entertained by this article that I just had to share ... I hope you enjoy. [Source]

Additionally, this new double issue of EW focuses on the big movies that are due out this summer ... with Spider-Man 3 taking center stage:

As I mentioned above, I can't believe the movie's release is so close. We've been able to follow the movie's creation from the beginning and very soon we'll be able to see Sandman and Venom come to life on the big screen. I am *so* excited. I will be in NYC for Spider-man Week (April 30 to May 6) and I will be making sure that David and I get to see the movie on opening night. Wee!!! It won't be long now! [Source]

In other Superhero movie news, the official Transformers the Movie website is now offering a few new computer wallpapers for download ... like this one:

It looks like Optimus Prime is taking on Scorpinok (or some other Decepticon) in battle in an attempt to save Earth in this pic. There are a few really great wallpapers for download ... head on over to the site to get yours now. [Source]

Since I've gotten a bit behind on my intros for the Hot Dolls of the Week, here is another Hot Doll of the Week from Tori Amos' American Doll Posse ... let's say hello to Pip:

Pip represents Athena and swaggers her way through the driving "Teenage Hustling" and duets with Santa on "Body and Soul." Tori says, "Pip, being the warrior that she is, does confront issues and sometimes it’s explosive, but I really love her energy." Pip's blog has been revealed HERE and the song Teenage Hustling, which is sung by the Pip character, can be previewed online HERE. [Source]

And finally ... it's time for this week's batch of pictures sent in by Pink is the new Blog readers -- Zoe Rae and her friends who go to Choate Rosemary Hall Upper School wearing the Virginia Tech colors in support of those lost in the tragedy that occurred earlier this week and they write, ORANGE IS THE NEW PINK, CHOATE SUPPORTS VIRGINIA TECH -- Vanessa sends in a pic with her cousin Sarah after she completed the 111th running of the Boston Marathon (which she completed while having to contend with a stubborn Nor'easter) earlier this week -- Dana sends in a pic with her best friend Casey who just recently got married -- Jessie and her friends from Montreal, Quebec celebrating a friend's 25th birthday -- Heather and her friends Nikki, Sara & Tina from 4Paws4Love who work to raise money to help benefit their local SPCA in Lakeland, Florida:

Much love and congrats to you all. Thank you, again, for taking the time to send in your wonderful pictures. As usual, I am humbled and very thankful to be included in your celebrations. XOXOXO

Les News:
Yeah ... I finally got out of the house yesterday. My friend Mike and I had planned on catching a movie but we got caught up eating everything in site at my fave LA Thai place Rambutan. It got too late for a movie so we went to The House of Pies to eat some more.

It's so sunny and beautiful today ... I am gonna hafta to go out again. Mike and I talked about going to Hot Dog at Club 7969 tonight so ... we'll see if that actually happens. Have a great weekend! I am out!
