The Highest Form Of Flattery

Well ... I'm mostly rested and back to normal ... but I'm still in NYC which means that I have to deal with another 6-hour flight back to LA tonight and deal with yet another time change. Fun times! Let's get to the day's post ...

Here are some pictures of Les Beckhams as they came together in Madrid to pick up the kiddies from school last week ... hot daddy Becks (flashing his stomach) had to carry baby Cruz because the new model Victoria-bot has yet to be programmed for carrying babies or any other such motherly nonsense:

Yeah, this new animatronic Posh-bot seems to need a lot of work still ... [Source]

... for instance, the robot was sent off on her own to attend the christening of Elle McPhereson's son, Aurelius Cy, in Rome over the weekend and she was still looking fresh-from-the-box stiff as hell and was wearing a highly inappropriate and hideous christening outfit:

Elle Macpherson's little boy Aurelius Cy was congratulated by a series his mum's showbiz pals after he was baptized in Rome at the weekend. The Australian supermodel and her former partner Arpad Busson played host to a select group of their friends and loved ones as they celebrated their son's christening in the Italian capital. The Aussie supermodel's old friend Victoria Beckham lived up to her stylish reputation when she made her entrance at the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica in a puffball mini-dress and cropped black jacket. The Posh-bot needs a bit of tweaking still ... she still looks too much like a Barbie doll. [Source]

Jet-setter Jessica Simpson has flown to London, England to offer moral support for her little sister Ashlee Simpson as she gets ready to make her theatrical stage debut in the West End production of Chicago tonight ... here are some pictures of Jessica leaving LA, arriving in London and piling into a car with Ashlee:

It's really nice of Jessica to fly half-way around the world in order to be a supportive big sister. Even tho Jess looks kind of annoyed in those last two pictures, I'm sure she isn't feeling the pangs of jealousy and hatred that her little sister beat her to the punch on this theater thing. Who knows, Ashlee may crash and burn and end up looking a complete fool in front of the entire theatrical world ... hmmm ... maybe that's why Jessica made sure to be in town for Ashlee's debut. Fergie Ferg threw herself a little party for the release of her new album The Dutchess. For the spectacular event, it appears that she decided to add longer hair on top of her head ...

... and opted to let her armpit hair grow long as well. Even tho her look is the pits, I have to admit that I quite enjoy her new album. I've been listening to it for a few days now and I quite like it ... armpit hair, notwithstanding. [Source]

Mischa Barton was on hand a few days ago at a DSW in Westwood, CA signing autographs in celebration for the launch of a new Keds sneaker called Raves ... here are a few photos from the event and a scan of an autographed photo:

Pink reader Katie happened to be at the DSW event and kindly shares her autograph with us. It would appear that Mischa is doing very well since being killed off on her show The OC. You don't get much classier than appearing at a DSW for the launch of a new Keds shoe. [Source, thanks Katie]

The Scissor Sisters are playing shows left and right in preparation for the release of their sophomore album Ta-Dah! Here are a few photos of the Sisters at Virgin Festival in Baltimore, MD over the weekend, courtesy of my good friend Kevin:

I've also been enjoying the new Scissor Sisters album for the past few days. Even tho most of the tracks sound like a hybrid between Elton John and the Bee Gees, I like the album much more overall than their first album. It's been so long since I've gotten to see the Scissor Sisters in concert ... the best part of their show is when Jake Shears gets really hot and starts taking off his clothes. [Source, thanks Kevin]

Michael Lohan must be pretty bored in prison these days ... if he's not drawing picture messages meant for his daughter and sending them to US tabloid writers, then he's writing letters to her and sending them out for publication in British tabloid newspapers. Here is an excerpt from Daddy Lohan's latest attempt at communicating with his lovely, rich daughter Lindsay:

LINDSAY LOHAN'S jailbird dad has sent an astonishing open letter to The Sun -- in a desperate bid to heal the rift with his estranged daughter.
Irish-born Michael Lohan's moving, hand-written text sheds light on the bizarre private life of the stunning actress ... He is worried that Lindsay is now surrounded by people riding on her coat-tails — and acting against her best interests. Michael, 45, wanted to publish his deeply personal writings in a major newspaper because all his other attempts to make contact have failed. He writes: "It pains me to have to write to you like this, but it's evident that my letters never reach you. My messages never get to you and 'people' continue to build walls between us. I can't even begin to tell you how very sorry I am for causing you (and our family) the heartache and embarrassment I have. I hold you absolutely blameless for all that's been said and portrayed, as I know it has been under the advice of others, to sway both the courts and public opinion. I also know the pain that comes with love, especially when two hearts and lives are divided. Sometimes we run — we seek to hide or just escape from the pain. In the meantime, people are either whispering in our ear, giving self-serving advice, or out to protect their own interests. Unfortunately sweetheart, while you are so talented and blessed you have become their interest! As I told you all along, this would happen."
Yeah, that sounds like genuine fatherly concern to me. It's too bad that he had to wait until after he was sentenced to a prison term to start getting all Ward Cleaver on her. It's too bad they don't have Internet access in the big house, I bet Michael Lohan could write a bitchin' blog. [Source]

Um, remember all that biznazz about how Aaron Carter was going to get married to his Playboy Playmate girlfriend who was a hand-me-down cast-off from his big brother Nick? Yeah ... he's pretty much over it already:

Singer Aaron Carter has called off his engagement to Playboy model Kari Ann Peniche after just six days, PEOPLE has confirmed. Peniche tells PEOPLE she and the House of Carters star made the "mutual decision" on Friday. "He's really young and just needs to get his act together," she says. "I don't know what's going on right now. We're friends and maybe we'll get back together sometime. We haven't ruled out getting back together." Carter's rep confirmed the split, telling PEOPLE, "He decided he had made a mistake. He's young and got caught up in the moment. He hopes they can be friends." Sounds like someone, pretty much, sobered up. Damnit! I was really counting on the Carters throwing a really bitchin’ Vegas-style wedding. Boo!

In other Carter news, here are a couple of promo pictures from the new E! series House of Carters which is set to debut in early October ... it looks like the Carter sisters (Angel, Leslie and BJ) are trying to cash in on the action now before the good Carter name is no longer useable:

At first glance, this new reality show looks a bit like a melding of The Surreal Life (with the washed up has-been bros) and The Real World (with the unknown sisters looking to get famous). It should be a huge hit! I know I can't wait to watch this show. Click HERE to watch the premiere episode online before the series debuts on E! on October 2nd. [Source]

John Mayer is a pretty funny guy. He recently started blogging and it looks like he's really enjoying the whole experience. Here are a couple of pictures that he posted on his blog in fine Pink is the new Blog style as an homage of sorts to my blog:

Not bad ... not bad at all. The pink is off a wee bit (I actually use #FFOO99) but I gotta give him snaps for the effort. It's a great compliment that John Mayer is familiar enough with the blog to have fun with it like this. It's hot, beyotch! Thanks John. [Source, thanks Ember, Jessica and Eva]

Here are the first two official stills from the new Harry Potter movie The Order of the Phoenix which is set for release next summer on July 13, 2007 . The first photo is of Harry fending off a Dementor and the second photo is of Umbridge, McGonagall and Trelawney standing around, presumably, at Hogwart's:

My, my ... Harry is becoming quite the young man. I know there are a great many fans out there anxiously awaiting the next Harry Potter movie ... and the last Harry Potter book. It's amazing what a phenomenon this series has become. You gotta give JK Rowling props for making books cool for kids ... and some adults. [Source]

Here is the cover of the first ever book written by Kylie Minogue entitled The Showgirl Princess:

Even tho the cover doesn't look that stunning, I'm still gonna hafta get a copy. It is Kylie after all. [Source]

And finally, I've heard from a few Pink readers that there was a possible PITNB shout-out in the first episode of the new season of America's Next Top Model ... Pink reader Leslie sends in this screencap (via TVGasm) from the debut episode:

It is interesting that the new model house has a poster/magazine cover of Tyra Banks with a caption that reads Pink is the new Black ... but what is more interesting is that the model wanabe assigned to the bed below that poster let loose her bladder on the lovely green and blue comforter. Nice! Thanks for the love, Tyra! [Source, thanks Leslie]

Les News:
I am not lying ... David and I did pretty much nothing for most of yesterday. We did drop off our laundry on the way to a late brunch (thankfully, I won't have to do all of my laundry when I get home to LA). Last night we were finally able to meet his roommate Sashie's new boyfriend Will. On our way to the bar, we ran into David's sister Eden and she joined us. We drank, ate free pizza and feel in love with Will. He and Sash make the cutest couple ... I'm so glad I was finally able to meet the boy.

I have to repack my stuff this afternoon and fly my ass back to LA. As much as I enjoyed my time here in NYC and Paris, I am very much looking forward to unpacking my stuff and re-settling at home. It'll be nice to sleep in my own bed again.

And so ... I'm off again. I'll be coming atcha from the westside once again. Don't forget ... if you're in the LA area come party with The Oohlas and me tomorrow night at Cinespace for their CD release party! It's gonna be soooo much fun!

I'm out.
