Chokin' 9 to 5, What A Way To Make A Livin'

So did y'all watch the VH-1 Big In '06 Awards last night? I gotta say, VH-1 came up with a really fun little awards show that is the perfect way to wrap up the year. They really have become the home to pop culture and the Big In '06 Awards is the perfect way to celebrate that fact. I was happy that Kiefer Sutherland (Big TV Star), Justin Timberlake (Big Music Artist) and Britney Spears (Big Mama) all won awards ...

tho, Brit could've also taken home the awards for Big Resurgence, Big Downfall One Week After Big Resurgence and Big Repeated Vag Slip. But I gotta say, I was bummed that Matthew McConaughey & Lance Armstrong lost for Big Power Couple. They were deff my pick for the big couple of the year. Overall, tho, I thing the VH-1 Big In ... Awards are really fun. [Source]

While Britney was bizzy whooping it up over the weekend celebrating her 25th birthday and flashing her panties around all over town, Kevin Federline was keepin' a pretty low profile. Here is a picture of K-Fed hanging out, where else, at a local gas station:

It was nice that he dressed for the occasion. Tho, that jacket looks an awful lot like the one he wore out to dinner at Mr. Chow last week. I wonder if it's the only one he was able to sneak out of the house with after he cleaned out his closets? Hee hee, I also wonder if he took that flyer with him. [Source]

On the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, little Miss Jamie Lynn Spears made an appearance at the Kid's Choice Awards in Milan, Italy over the weekend:

Blah! I love JL but that silk-printed dress does not look good on her. It wouldn't even look good on Blanche Devereaux. Jamie Lynn is still a cutie tho, she just needs to stop getting fashion tips from her big sister. [Source]

Here are a few pictures of Paula Abdul and Michael Vartan at the VH-1 Save The Music Foundation shindig Big Night For A Big Cause on Friday night ... Miss Paula was looking absolutely amazing with her dark locks and kinda skanky lingerie-like dress ... Michael was lookin' like he just showed up from a fresh ass-whipping:

Michael claims that he was injured while playing a game of hockey but who knows what the real deal may be. Paula doesn't usually look very well put together at these events so it's a nice surprise to see her lookin' so fly. Those dress straps look like they are 3 secs. away from letting her ample womanhood snap free ... ah Paula, you still got it. [Source, Source]

Aww ... poor Jessica Simpson. I'm sure she was all excited to sing a tribute to Dolly Parton, who was honored by the Kennedy Center over the weekend. I think perhaps she was a little too excited ... because the poor dear couldn't get thru the song 9 to 5 without, well, screwing it up:

Simpson was on stage to sing Nine to Five as part of the tribute to Dolly Parton, one of the evening's five honorees. Simpson ended her performance abruptly with the words "so nervous" and quickly exited the stage. The stunned audience remained silent, giving her no applause. Simpson appeared to be crying when she and other singers in the tribute returned to the stage. CBS will broadcast the show Dec. 26 at 9 p.m. OUCH! How mortifying! I somehow doubt that CBS will broadcast Jessica's flubbed performance but I may tune in to watch just in case. Truth be told, it could happen to anyone. She really shouldn't fretnone ... if Ashlee Simpson can come back from getting busted live on air for lip-syncing then Jess should have no problem living this little mistake down ... after a couple of weeks and a few hundred jokes, that is. [Source, Source]

In happier news, here are a few pics of Jessica on the set of her new movie Blonde Ambition having no problem making nervous mistakes:

After all, it's pretty clear that she was born to play the role of the dumb blonde. I'll be expecting Academy Awards come next awards season. [Source]

Michelle Trachtenberg (who refuses to let the "leggings fad" die the miserable death it deserves) and Kirsten Dunst were among the celebs at the Art of Elysium Art Benefit that took place on Saturday night ... here are a few pics:

I'm really diggin' Kirsten's hair. It's a very good look for her. As for Michelle ... er, well ... I like her shoes. [Source, Source]

Here is a cute picture of Josh Holloway and Daniel Dae Kim going for a little boat ride in Hawaii as they take a respite from filming their scenes on Lost:

It's still strange to me to see cast members hanging out off the set as friends. Even stranger is when they hook up (like Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan). I really hope these guys are enjoying the time off but they also better be working their butts off as well. I really don't want to be disappointed any further when Lost returns with new episodes next year. [Source]

Hit or Miss? Reese Witherspoon may be rockin' the fugly UGGS and stretch pants but she is also rockin' the sweet Dolce & Gabbana Gold MotoRAZR cell phone ...

Eh, I call it a draw. [Source]

It looks like we're gonna hafta pour one out for our dear Leichen. Word has it that Lance Bass and Reichen Lehmkuhl have decided to call it quits ... which I hope is just a horrible rumor because they are my fave gay celeb couple and I don't know if my fragile little heart can take the demise of Leichen:

If it really was a mutual decision, as the report alleges, then I guess there is no harm there. It just bums me out that their romance has to be dunzo so soon after they came out as a couple together. Tho ... I can't wait to see who they end up hooking up with next. [Source]

UPDATE: BOOOOOO! TMZ confirms that Leichen are in fact DUNZO: Lance's rep, Cindy Owen, said, "They have broken up." Rats! I'm off to go cry now. [thanks Danielle]

Ho ho ho ... graffiti artist Banksy has gotten in the Xmas spirit and has unveiled a couple of new art pieces to add to your holiday fun:

Santa rechristened as Satan, holding a placard stating: "It's cancelled" and a Michael Jackson lookalike in a reworked drawing of Hansel and Gretel ... It can only be guerrilla artist Banksy's Santa's Ghetto, an art gallery opening in Oxford Street today ... Banksy is exhibiting four works, all of which were snapped up within 10 minutes of going on sale. One features a man resembling Michael Jackson offering candy to a small boy and girl in a variant on the Brothers Grimm's Hansel and Gretel tale. The portrait was sold yesterday to an unknown buyer for a sum believed to be £100,000. Ten works have already been sold at the gallery which aims to sell affordable art to the public ... Santa's Ghetto will stay open for 23 days and it is the fifth year of Banksy's concept store. He said through his spokeswoman: "I felt the spirit of Christmas was being lost -- it was being increasingly uncommercialised and more and more to do with religion. So we decided to open our own shop and sell pointless stuff you didn't need." Brills! The irony of it all just kills me. Banksy comes up with very inventive and extremely interesting images. The Michael Jackson thing is just ... fitting. It's disturbing and yet could be misinterpreted ... I think it's a great piece. [Source]

Jennifer Hudson talks to HX magazine in their new issue and openly discusses her love for the gay audience. There is no hint of any feud with Beyonce over all of the attention that she is receiving for her work in Dreamgirls but you really wouldn't expect her to fess up before the movie came out, would you?

Here are a few excerpts from her interview:

Can you believe that you and Beyonce are buddies?
I know, right? That's my Dreamgirl sistah! Two years ago I never would've guessed that Beyonce would be on my Christmas list and I would be on hers. That blows my mind.
What can we expect from your debut album?
I'm about to find out myself! I just signed to Arista with Clive Davis and we're gonna discuss what I'm looking for. But I know my main following is the gay community, and I just want to give them what they want. What do you guys want?
Big, powerful ballads with lots of high notes!
We call that Jenniferizing. That's the term for when you hit those big notes -- like, okay, I got to Jenniferize this! There will definitely be a lot of that no matter what style I decide to go with.
What advice would you give a J.Hud drag queen?
Be fierce, honey, and work it! And don't forget to throw that hand on the hip for that big note at the end. That says, "Oh, this note is nothin'. What's next?"

Love it! I'm telling you, mark my words, Jennifer Hudson is going to be huge. Beyonce, for her part, is also downplaying any notions of a feud with Jennifer, according to People magazine: You can put those rumors of a feud on the set of Dreamgirls to rest. Beyonce Knowles says that she and her costar Jennifer Hudson, of American Idol fame, didn't have bad blood while filming the movie. "I knew that the character that I played wasn't the star," Knowles, 25, told reporters on Saturday about knowing full well that her Diana Ross-esque role of Deena Jones was less meaty than Hudson's part as Effie White – a part that is already getting Hudson Oscar buzz. "She wasn't the underdog. She didn't have the struggle and the pain and the dramatic scenes that Effie had, and I was fine with that" ... So, what about the rumors of jealousy towards Hudson? "It's really unfortunate that everyone is saying I'm jealous of Jennifer. It hurts my heart because it's so cliched. ... They're saying that I'm mad when I knew going into this that I was playing Deena," said Knowles. "Because I'm a star they just automatically assume that I'm not humble enough to sit down and take a back seat, which I am" ... But the R&B star did admit that she would have liked to have sung Effie's song, "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" ... "I mean," said Knowles, "I wish I could've gained 20 pounds and played Effie." Uh ... yeah right. I'm sorry but Beyonce was cast perfectly as Deena and Jennifer was cast perfectly as Effie. I'm sure there is no resentment anywhere and I just hate to think of Beyonce having a hurt heart ... besides, Jennifer has nothing to worry about at all one way or another. [Source]

Um ... is Janet Jackson supposed to look a little drunk in these photos?

'Cuz she does. [Source]

And finally, ComingSoon.net has a few pictures from the upcoming third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy -- At World's End ... and here they are:

There is a markedly Asian feel to these costumes. I am totally staying away from any plot spoilers but these pictures are very interesting. I gotta say ... the whole Hot Pirate look is starting to grow on me ... but just a little. [Source]

Les News:
Last night Jim and I celebrated the one year anniversary of our meeting over a nice dinner at Mr. Chow. I always forget how much fun it is to just sit down and talk with him one on one. He's always so bizzy and I'm always so bizzy that we never take the time to just hang out. He really is my best friend out here in LA and has proven himself time and again to be an extraordinary friend. We promised to try and have at least one sit down dinner together every month and I really hope that we stick with that pact.

OY ... so much to do today before I hop on a plane for NYC. I'll be in the Big Apple for the rest of the week chillin' with David in his new apartment! I'm so excited. This has been the longest we've been apart since we started dating and I think it's really about time we see each other again. I'll be coming atcha from the East Coast for the rest of the week so ... have a great Monday! I'm out.
