High Five Cinco

Yay! I have to send out lots of Cinco de Mayo love to all my latinoid peeps out there! I want all of you to do yourself a favor and have at least one margarita today ... a tequila shot or two ain't that bad an idea either :) Holllla!

It's been about 2-weeks since Katie Holmes went underground to give birth to Tom Cruise's first natural-born child Suri Holmes-Cruise and last night she finally resurfaced for the Hollywood premiere of Mission:Impossible:III ... seemingly, right according to the TomKat master plan:

Tom Cruise brought something extra special to the Los Angeles premiere on Thursday: Katie Holmes. This marked the first time in weeks that the globetrotting leading man -- who'd been traveling solo -- had his fiancee and mother of his 2-week-old daughter back at his side in public ... A voluptuous-looking Holmes, already slimmed down since the last stages of her pregnancy, was wearing a loose-fitting black cocktail dress with white pumps as she clung to Cruise while he signed autographs and posed for photos ... Holmes also said that "some very good friends" were taking care of the infant -- while Cruise (wearing a black suit and sunglasses) took care of Holmes, making sure she was as much a part of his night as the fans. Hmmm ... "some very good friends"? That baby was prolly holed up deep within the confines of Church of Scientology Celebrity Center ... down in the secret alien incubation chamber. Katie looks completely out of it ... it appears that the drugs haven't quite worn off yet. [Source, Source]

On Wednesday, before he jetted off to LA, Tom Cruise was bizzy making a spectacle of himself all over NYC ... he even brought his freakshow to the BET show 106 and Park where he decided to let his inner soulman come out for all the world to see:

Uh ... Tom should make it a policy to not dance in public ... click HERE to see what I mean. [Source]

ATTENTION: LOST SPOILER ALERT WARNING

Michelle Rodriguez paid a visit to MTV's TRL yesterday afternoon on the day after her character Ana Lucia was shot and presumably killed on this week's episode of Lost:

The consensus going around is that Ana Lucia was killed this week when Michael shot her in the stomach. The New York Post provides this information: For sure, Lucia is quite dead, but the fate of Libby was left less clear. On the set of the show, there are signs that Libby may survive. Watros' trailer, which serves as personal space for the actress while at work, was still on the set yesterday in Hawaii where the cast and crew are finishing up filming the year's final two-hour episode, a production source told The Post. Watros herself also was still in Hawaii. But Rodriguez and her trailer have been gone from the set for weeks, the sources says. Boo! I really liked Ana Lucia on the show ... she brought the latinoid flavor to the show. She was one of my favorite, flawed characters. It still remains to be seen whether Libby will survive her shooting ... Cynthia Watros has agreed to shoot the pilot for the CBS show My Ex-Life but will she be able to do both shows at once? Cynthia Watros has agreed to star opposite Tom Cavanagh in the CBS comedy pilot My Ex-Life. The Lost actress and the former Ed actor will be two best friends who happen to be a divorced couple sharing custody. The Hollywood Reporter says she is doing My Ex-Life as a guest star because of her regular commitment to Lost. Hmmm ... I guess we'll have to wait and see how all of this shizz turns out. [Source]

Paris and Nicky Hilton have a real problem with the rub-on fake tanner:

I think someone needs to stage an intervention ... no one should go out in public with this many layers of fake tan rubbed into their skin. [Source]

The budding relationship betwixt Paris Hilton and Matt Leinart appears to be coming along nicely, TMZ.com has video of the couple getting all lovey with one another:

Paris joined Matt in Vegas for his football draft party at club Pure ... [Source]

... and then the pair showed up together back in LA at club Shag ... and looky-looky who else showed up at club Shag that night:

Well, well, well, well ... Nick Lachey and CaCee Cobb (Jessica Simpson's friend and personal assistant) also partied together at the same club that night. Isn't that so interesting?! I wonder what Jessica has to say about all of this. [Source]

One doesn't have to wonder what Stavros Niarchos thinks about Paris' new relationship with Matt ... he openly disclosed how he really feels for the public to enjoy:

After the breakup, Stavros Niarchos arrived at Paris Hilton's house early Monday morning and later went on a screaming and yelling rant ...Stavros arrived aroud 1 AM and spent an hour crying and ringing her door bell, begging to be let in. At one point, Stavros was spotted sprawled out on her driveway. Around 2 am Paris finally let him in and the screaming continued. We are told they were so loud the fight could be heard outside the house. Stavros was heard hollering "Take me back!" and "I give you everything!!" Sources say during the fight Matt Leinart's name was brought up a few times. We are also told Paris was overheard trying to calm down the rich Greek by saying "Take it easy" and "Go home and get some sleep." During the night, a cab came and went three times, but each time left without the shipping heir. Finally, around 8 in the morning, Stavros got in a cab and headed out. How incredibly sad ... not because the poor little lamb is so heartbroken ... but that he's heartbroken at all over Paris Hilton. [Source]

Woot! Jake Gyllenhaal really knows how to pump it ... awww yeah ... pump it, Jake ... pump it!

Eh, I just wanted an excuse to post a couple pictures of Jakey poo. [Source]

When will it stop?! When Lord?! First Jake Gyllenhaal takes to wearing spandex and now this ... my dear, sweet little Michelle Trachtenburg ... wearing ... leggings ...

... perhaps it was merely a bout of temporary insanity ... it's okay Michelle ... I still loves ya ... we'll just pretend this little incident never happened at all :) [Source]

Canadian actors Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling took part in the May 1st Day Without Immigrants national protest ... here is a picture of the pair marching along side other protesting immigrants in LA earlier this week:

They're awesome ... it's really cool to see celebs stand up for causes they believe in. As Canadians living in the US it's cool to see that they sympathize with the plight of the immigrants in this country. Whether you agree with them or not you have to respect them for publicly standing up for what they believe in. [Source]

Anderson Cooper is on the cover of the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine which hit newsstands this past Wednesday:

Coop looks very serious on the cover of VF because the piece on him in the magazine is really an excerpt from his memoir that talks about his older brother's suicide which is framed in the context of Anderson's experience in New Orleans in the days and weeks after Hurricane Katrina. The excerpt is very poignant when he talks about New Orleans but gets a little sappy when he talks about his life growing up as the son of Gloria Vanderbilt. The article was an interesting read overall ... it piqued my interest in reading his memoir. [Source]

Nicole Richie is interviewed this issue of Vanity Fair and here are a few pictures from her photoshoot:

Nicole Richie tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Leslie Bennetts that her current weight upsets her and she's doing something about it. "I know I'm too thin right now, so I wouldn't want any young girl looking at me and saying, 'That's what I want to look like.' I do know that they will, which is another reason I really do need to do something about it. I'm not happy with the way I look right now" ... Richie explains that stress causes her to lose her appetite, and one of the factors over the past year was her broken engagement with DJ AM. "I had a bad breakup, and it eats me up inside when I'm upset about something," she explains. "I get really stressed out, and I do lose my appetite, but I do force myself to eat. I tried to put the weight on my way, eating burritos, but that wasn't working, so I started seeing a nutritionist and a doctor. I was scared that it could be something more serious, because it wasn't making any sense to me; I really was trying." Yes, I'm too thin, but that's just a result of what's really going on with me; the bigger picture is how I deal with problems," she says. Nicole goes on to discuss what really went down between her and former BFF Paris Hilton: "We never had a fight," she says. "I just decided I didn't want to be her friend anymore. We're just two completely different people; we don't have that much in common. I really don't have anything horrible to say about her," she says. "When I got out of rehab, I had to figure out what path to go down, and part of that included taking certain people out of my life." When Paris made her little announcement that 'Nicole knows what she did,' I didn't really understand what that was about, because we hadn't been friends in such a long time. I can only guess that she had House of Wax coming out." You can read more of Nicole's VF interview HERE where she goes on to talk about her drug abuse and rehabilitation and her plans for a singing career. [Source]

Star Wars fanboys rejoice ... not only is the original version of the Star Wars Trilogy coming to DVD this September but very soon you'll be able to own your very own George Lucas action figure:

Hasbro, maker of "Star Wars" toys, is paying plastic tribute to Lucas, interpreting him as a limited-edition action figure in Storm Trooper attire. The head of the toy maker's "Star Wars" division called Lucas "the greatest character in the universe" ... "We took a cue from when Han Solo and Luke disguised themselves as Storm Troopers," said Derryl DePriest, marketing director and admitted lifelong "Star Wars" fan. "We placed George in his own universe that he created." This is the first time Lucas has been honored with an official "Star Wars" action figure ... This new action figure is sure to inspire wet sheets for geeks the world over ... Happy day, indeed! [Source]

Evangeline Lilly is featured in the new issue of In Style magazine:

Unlike Ana Lucia on Lost, I think it's safe to assume that Kate ain't going anywhere any time soon. We can expect to see Evangeline being featured in multiple magazines for months to come. [Source]

And finally, Mischa Barton is the latest star to sign on for the Got Milk? campaign:

With rumors running rampant that Mischa's character on The OC is going to be killed off before this season ends you have to wonder if Mischa is signing on to do as many commercials as she can to bring in the cash. Milk it girl ... make that bank while you still can. [thanks Vickie]

Newstime:
Things are really heating up in NYC these days ... yesterday was practically a scorcher which makes walking around the city a bit more uncomfortable. While hanging out yesterday afternoon in the Starbucks in Union Square, David and I ran into Pink readers Roe and John who came over to say hey to us. Yeah, even tho the temps were creeping into the 80s David felt the need to sate his thirst with a cup coffee. OY!

Last night we spent the night on the town and ended up going to a couple parties ... first up we went to a party for 255 Hudson which was hosted by Wilmer Valderrama who, I was pleased to discover, is a Pink is the new Blog fan and then a Death Cab party at club Marquee that was chock full of NBC stars ... check out this picture of 255 Hudson party host Chris Leavitt, Wendy Williams, Wilmer and me ... and me with Andy Samberg and Amy Poehler:

Wilmer and I chatted a bit about his new MTV show Yo Momma. He is very pleased that the show is doing so well ... he told me his goal was to get new faces on MTV ... people that you normally don't see on the channel (i.e. brown peeps like us). I also got to chat for a bit with Wendy ... that woman is larger than life and it was very cool getting to meet her. I have to send out lots of love to Chris for throwing such a fun soiree.

After the 255 Hudson party we made our way to a Death Cab for Cutie DVD release party at Marquee where I got to meet my 2 favorite SNL cast members Andy Samberg and Amy Poehler. I can't even tell you how much I love Amy Poehler ... she was so sweet and so cute. I <3 them both so much.

I also got to meet quite a few Pink readers at this party:

I have to send out lots of love to Katie, Sherry and Stephanie and everyone else I got to chat with last night. XOXO

It's the weekend y'all ... I'm spending another few days here in the Big Apple and I couldn't be more excited. I have no idea what's up for this weekend ... but I'm sure it'll be lots of fun. I'm out ... have a margarita for me :)

Lates.
