Baby Talk
Britney Spears graces the cover of the new issue of US Weekly magazine this week and she is looking utterly faboo! The photos of the newly emerged Britney were released on Monday but I was asked by the photo agency not to post them (instead, I linked to their website). I cannot tell you how much it thrills me that Brit Brit is lookin' so good, so soon after giving birth to her second child (the name of which we're still not sure of):
This is a very good sign of things to come ... it appears that she is really taking her comeback seriously. Here's hoping that we've seen the last of those bare feet (tho, much to her credit, she hasn't been seen sans shoes for quite some time now), those fugly-ass scrunchies and that horrible marriage to Kevin Federline. Well, we don't always get everything we want ... but I'll take what I can get. [Source]
Madonna has posted an open letter on her official website to answer some of the criticism that she is recieving over the adoption of her new Malawian son David Banda ... here is the text of the letter in its entirety:
It makes perfect sense that the adoption process was begun long before Madonna made her visit to Malawi last week. It is utterly absurd to believe that, on a whim, Madonna decided to just pick up a new child and decided to raise it as her own one day and then had that child flown to London the following week. It sucks that this special moment for her family has to be marred by ridiculous charges that she stole the child or is engaging in human trafficking. I'm sure the decision to adopt this little boy wasn't taken lightly (but rumors that she wants to adopt a little girl as well are a bit strange) and I wish nothing but happiness for the newly completed family. Now all we need is to see pictures of all of Ciccone-Ritchies together. [Source, Source]
Justin Timberlake made his runway debut last night with his clothing line William Rast for LA Fashion Week. Here are a few photos from the event's red carpet:
Pop star Justin Timberlake isn't your typical fashion designer. So the runway debut of his William Rast clothing line wasn't a typical fashion show. Rather than show the collection at the official Los Angeles Fashion Week site, Culver City's Smashbox Studios, Timberlake took over one of Hollywood's hottest nightspots on Tuesday night. A runway and scores of bleacher seats were added to a section of Social Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard. The Boulevard3 club next door was used for the exclusive after-party, including a performance by Timberlake ... On the runway, there were skinny jeans for men and women, topped with tanks or muscle shirts. There were also country-inspired checkered shirts for men decorated with ruffles or leather details. Some were shown with ascots. Women's styles included cropped cardigans, shrunken sweaterdresses and puffy-sleeved blouses with bows at the neck. Later, dressier attire had a soundtrack of Nine Inch Nails and N.E.R.D. (Timberlake is said to have spent months picking the show's playlist.) Men wore plaid blazers with attached leather vests over slim-fitting slacks. Accessories were key as each outfit was adorned with oversized belt buckles or chunky pendants. One was a skull, another looked like a grenade. Hmmm ... I don't think Pete Wentz' Clandestine fashion show for NY Fashion Week a few weeks ago was quite this ambitious. I knew that JT dabbled in fashion (his clothing line debuted last year) but I had no idea he had plans to become a full-fledged fashion designer ... I guess we'll see if this clothing line has the legs to stand on its own. I suppose if Gwen Stefani can do it, so can JT. [Source]
Elsewhere last night, Nicole Richie was on hand for a cocktail party, DJed by superstar Samantha Ronson, for the launch of Charlotte Ronson's 2007 spring line ... here are a couple photos:
I don't really get why Nicole wore a painters smock to the event ... maybe she came right from art class and didn't have time to change? [Source]
Also yesterday, Tim McGraw became one of the newest celebs to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame ... here are a few photos from the event:
Award-winning country singer and actor Tim McGraw was honoured with a star on Hollywood's 'Walk of Fame'. McGraw, who starred in the acclaimed "Friday Night Lights" alongside Oscar-winner Billy Bob Thornton, is the 2,322nd celebrity to be honoured on the famous stretch of pavement. Thornton attended Tuesday's ceremony along with McGraw's wife, country star Faith Hill. "It's been a great ride for me for a long time," McGraw said. "This summer will make 18 years that I've been on the road playing music making my living." Now ya'll know that I am not a Country fan at all (I've got nothing against Country music, but I got more than my fill of the stuff while I was attending the University of Oklahoma) but I generally like Tim McGraw. He strikes me as a really cool, nice guy. Plus, he managed to win the heart of the nicest woman in Country music so he can't be all that bad. His song Don't Take the Girl was HUGE when I was living in Oklahoma so believe me ... I know all the words to that song. Congrats to Tim on this achievement, it honestly couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. [Source]
Jennifer Lopez is still chillin' in Spain with her family, hubby Marc Anthony and her dear sweet mother Guadalupe ... here are a few pictures of J. Lo and her mom having a little chat on the balcony of their hotel room in Tenerife, Spain:
Aren't they just the cutest little family? [Source]
Robbie Williams is jaunting all over the world to promote his new album Rudebox. Here are pictures of Robbie getting in a little game of soocer (or futebol) down in Rio:
Um ... does he always travel with a soccer jersey emblazoned with his name on the back? I think maybe he's in the wrong business. [Source]
Pink reader Jamie sent in this great picture of Kid Rock chillin' with the hometown crowd in Detroit at the Tigers game last Saturday (the game that secured the Tigers' spot in this year's World Series):
I love that Kid Rock was in town for the game. I hope that more Detroit celebs go back home to root on the Detroit Tigers as they make their way to become the 2006 World Series champs. Believe me, if I could go home to attend a game or two I deff would get my ass on a plane and fly home. They're gonna do it ... I just know it ... World Series Champs, baby! [thanks Jamie]
Lance Armstrong is on the cover of the new issue of Details magazine:
He looks really happy ... I wonder what he was thinking about to get that smile on his face? [Source]
Mischa Barton is on the cover of the new issue of UK Vogue ... and dare I say ... she looks pretty damn good in the accompanying photospread:
The sweaters look hot on her ... I love the green one. See, isn't stuff like this much more interesting than those damned leggings that are all the rage these days? [Source]
Sarah Michelle Gellar is on the cover of the new issue of UK Glamour and I'm not quite feeling the same love that I have for Mischa's photos:
The cover looks very unfortunate ... I think it's her hair. I love SMG but these pics look like boo-boo-boo. [Source]
Check out a few of the official posters for the soon-to-be released movie Dreamgirls:
There is so much Oscar buzz going around for this movie that I'm not even gonna go there ... yet. I like the posters tho ... Beyonce looks great as her Diana Ross-like character. Eddie Murphy looks pretty good as his Ike Turner-like character too. I have a feeling that this movie is going to be enormous. [Source]
Not quite as exciting is the poster artwork for the new Jake Gyllenhaal movie Zodiac:
C'mon ... no shirtless photo of Jake for the poster? How are they going to get people interested in this film? I keed, I keed ... David Fincher is an amazing director (little known fact, he got his start by directing Paula Abdul videos) and I'm deff gonna check out this movie ... hopefully there will be some shirtless Jake action as a special added bonus.
