Steady As She Goes

Can I just say THANK THE LAWD that last week is finally over?! It's a new day and a new week and things look to be on the upswing. Now, I'm not saying that all of my problems have been resolved but there have been developments over the weekend that make things seem not so terrible anymore. Despite the fact that my London trip got cancelled at the last minute, it looks like I might have a good birthday later on this week after all.

I know I'm not the only one giving a shout-out to Jebus these days, Miss Britney Spears packed up her kiddies AND her new bodyguard (with benefits?) and got their country asses to church yesterday. Britney did reveal recently that she has been praying for her mother so maybe this is an extension of that behavior. Here are a few pics of Britney and Co. (Britney holding a sleeping Jayden James, the bodyguard holding a screaming Sean Preston) as they made their way into and out of church:

Can I get a Hallelujah that the bodyguard had the foresight to wear a suit jacket over his Chester the Cheetah Cheetos brand t-shirt inside the church? Now, you know that there is something going on between Britney and this bodyguard if for the mere fact that they seem PERFECT for one another. Bodyguard + Cheetos t-shirt + Britney Spears = LURVE! And poor Sean Preston looks like he's having a really bad day ... mostly because his mother dressed him in that outfit with those shoes. I'm sorry, I have to agree ... I think silver shoes would've been way more appropriate. [Source]

After church, the family made their way back to Britney's mansion for a little fun frolicking playtime in the warm California sunshine. Here are pictures of Britney, the bodyguard and the kids having a great ol' time yesterday afternoon:

Now, I know it's hot as Hades outside these days but was it really necessary for the bodyguard to take off his fabulous orange Cheetos t-shirt and walk around bare-chested so that Britney could enjoy his rockin' abs and killer pecs? Well, I guess if he wanted to get a paycheck next week it was necessary. Yeah, I'm sure there is nothing going on betwixt the two of them. [Source]

One last bit of Britney news, there are reports going around that a New Orleans radio station has a promo copy of a new Britney Spears song titled Get Back which is set to air for the first time today ... there is even a picture of the cd ...

... which looks legit but this could very well be another hoax. If the song does emerge today I'll make sure to post a link so that y'all can hear it ... but don't hold your breath just yet. [Source]

Okie dokey, moving on ... here are a few pictures from the Hollywood premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix which took place at Grauman's Chinese Theatre yesterday. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and (randomly) Seth Green were among those in attendance:

Miss Emma even brought along a hot piece of mancake with her to the premiere. Yes, it looks as if her Hollywood "It" Girl training is coming along nicely ... first she shops for the clothes, then she shops for the man ... tho, now that I am really looking at the photo of Emma and this boy I suppose it's possible that he's, like, her brother or something which would make the implication that they are at all romantical really super gross and should be disregarded immediately ... well, unless you know something that I don't. ANYWAYS ... Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix opens here in the US on Wednesday. [Source]

Eva Longoria- Parker is already a twice-married real-life housewife and has already left the beautiful country of France and has arrived back in the US with her new hubby Tony Parker. Not only is she proudly showing off the new husband but she's also showing off her INSANELY garish diamond ring:

Showing off a dazzling 107 diamond wedding ring and custom made tracksuit emblazoned with her new 'Mrs Parker' title, actress Eva Longoria couldn't have looked more thrilled at her newlywed status. The star touched down in America with her new husband, basketballer Tony Parker, after an extravagant trip to France which began with a bachelorette party in St Tropez and ended with an A-list church wedding. Her new ring features an impressive two rows of 80 brilliant-cut diamonds and 27 square-cut diamonds, complete with a romantic French inscription on the inside. The couple are said to be jetting off to a top secret honeymoon location, despite earlier reports she was to resume work immediately after the nuptials. Shoot, if my ring had 170 diamonds in it you best believe I'd be flashing that thing all over town ... well, until I got mugged or slapped or something (which will prolly happen the first day she shows up on the set of Desperate Housewives and keeps asking people over and over again if they've seen her ring yet). A new set of 7 Wonders of the World have been chosen by world vote and the winners were announced in Lisbon, Portugal over the weekend on Saturday 07.07.07. Jennifer Lopez was on hand to perform at the ceremony and here are a few pics from her performance:

The contest to name the new seven wonders of the world is over, and the contest to name the new seven wonders of nature is underway. Brazil's Statue of Christ Redeemer, Peru's Machu Picchu, Mexico's Chichen Itza pyramid, the Great Wall of China, Jordan's Petra, the Colosseum in Rome and India's Taj Mahal were named the new seven wonders of the world on July 7 at a ceremony in Lisbon. The sites were selected according to a tally of around 100 million votes cast by people around the world over the Internet and by cell phone text messages, the nonprofit organization that conducted the poll said. The Great Pyramids of Giza, the only surviving structures from the original seven wonders of the ancient world, kept their status in addition to the new seven. The campaign to pick the seven new wonders was begun in 1999 by Swiss adventurer Bernard Weber. His Switzerland-based foundation, called New7Wonders, received some 200 nominations from around the world and then narrowed the list to 21 candidates for the public to vote on. Among the sites that did not make the final list of seven wonders were the Statue of Liberty, Stonehenge and the Eiffel Tower. It was very sporting of J. Lo to agree to perform at the New 7 Wonders of the World ceremony since her booty wasn't chosen as one of the New 7 Wonders ... but I understand her booty won "honorable mention" and that must've been good enough for her. Speaking of divas with fine booties, here are new pictures of Mariah Carey as she lounged around on Roberto Cavalli's yacht while on holiday in Salerno, Italy over the weekend ... here are a few pics of Mimi sunnin', sippin' and posin' for the cameras:

I gotta say, Mariah looks damn good in that bikini. It's nice that she's spending some downtime recharging her batteries but I think it's about time she's back to work on some new music. Put the drink down Mariah and give us some new hit songs. [Source]

Here are a couple of cute pics of Kylie Minogue emerging from her London flat over the weekend kissing one of her friends goodbye:

I suppose it's possible that this new fellow is a love interest but the tank top and designer sunglasses lead me to believe that he is only a friend. Tho, he is wearing a pair of Crocs shoes and I don't no any self-respecting gay who'd wear those monstrosities out in public. [Source]

Geri Halliwell (better known here in the US as Ginger Spice) is SUCH a huge ubermegastar in the UK that she has found it absolutely necessary to erect a 12-foot high wooden wall around her humble abode to keep some distance from the crush of her unlimited fans (I guess we can't go having just anyone get an unauthorized peek at her new daughter Bluebell Madonna, now can we?) ... naturally, her neighbors aren't quite as thrilled at the prospect of having this new edifice on their street (after all, how could they possibly understand what it means to be Ginger Spice?):

She is known for being fiercely protective of her privacy. But Geri Halliwell's latest attempt to remain as private as possible has resulted in a fallout with neighbours over the building of a 12ft brick wall around her property. The Spice Girl, who moved to a leafy suburb of North London this year, has already started the imposing structure outside the £4million home, where she lives with one-year-old daughter Bluebell Madonna. In keeping with the current Hollywood trend, Miss Halliwell has deemed herself suitably sought after to warrant such a measure – even though her house boasts a state-of-the-art security system. But residents in her street complained the wall, which prevents anyone from seeing into the property from street level, is an eyesore ... "At first a wooden structure went up and we thought it was just a temporary thing while she had some work done to the property but then the bricklayers arrived and we realised it was going to be a permanent wall. It's a beautiful and very residential street but Geri's house looks like a prison. It's a monstrosity of a thing. There are always photographers outside her property but the wall just seems to make her house stand out even more. We don't know whether she had to apply for planning permission but frankly we're surprised that the local council would allow such a thing. If Geri wanted Fort Knox-style security, she should have chosen to live in a gated property." Psssh. Peons. What do they know about Geri's suffering? [Source]

So lemme get this straight ... these two beautiful models, Kate Moss and Lindi Hingston, are fighting over the right to have sexual relations with Pete Doherty? These two women can find no better man in the world to occupy their time with than Pete Doherty?

These women, seriously? And now there is another chick who wants in on the action? Can someone please explain it to me? It's his sexy teeth, isn't it? [Source]

In happy couple news, here are new pics of my fave Laguna Beach girl Kristin Cavallari and her hot man Nick Zano out for a little bike ride over the weekend:

Very nice to see that things seem to be going well for the two of them. Just last week I was able to watch the entire first season of MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real OC on a marathon on The N all in one sitting (well, I DVRed the eps and watched them over a couple of days) and I was reminded by how much I love that show. It was nice reliving the halcyon days when Kristin and Ste-PHEN would make up and break up every other episode and poor, sad LC would be trailing behind hoping to scrounge up any tiny bit of attention from Stephen even tho he obvs wasn't interested in the least (he did pat her on the head a lot). Lo would chime in with some piece of existential wisdom and Jessica wasn't even that annoying yet -- and Polster! There was never enough Polster that first season. Ahh ... those were the days. [Source]

Now, y'all know I love me some Mandy Moore so here are a few pics of Miss Mandy lounging in and by the pool while she vacations down in Mexico:

She's so cute ... and it's rare that we get to see her with any sort of alcoholic beverage in her hand ... tho, I wouldn't be surprised if she were drinking a virgin daiquiri in these pics. She's still cute! [Source]

As I mentioned yesterday, Prince played an after after show at the famed First Avenue nightclub (where he got his start in the music biz about 85 years ago) in Minneapolis, MN but while the Purple One wanted to make the show last all night long and all morning long the Minneapolis Police had other plans. When the cops decided enough was enough they cut the power and ended the show right then and there:

Apparently, even Prince isn't enough of a king in Minneapolis to bend the law. The rock legend's much-anticipated return to First Avenue nightclub was unplugged by police early Sunday after it went almost an hour past the required 3 a.m. closing time. "We gotta do what the authorities say," Prince told the sold-out crowd, which waited around until 2:45 a.m. for the singer to take the stage where he filmed 1984's "Purple Rain." It was his first performance there since 1987, and it was cut short at just over an hour. Police Sgt. E.T. Nelson, who watched from across the street as fans filed out of the club, pointed to the many officers working overtime for the event. More than 20 officers, including four on horseback, had worked to block off the streets surrounding the club and Target Center, the site of his sold-out concert a few hours earlier. "I think it's very arrogant of him to think he can hold us here like this," said Nelson, who did not believe an exception should be made for the homegrown Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. "The law is the law for anybody." Police put an end to a nearly 12-hour stretch of three Prince performances in downtown Minneapolis, which started Saturday afternoon with a special Macy's in-store gig. The singer showed little fatigue at the jam-packed First Ave show, and in fact his set list included nine more songs that he did not get to play. First Avenue owner Byron Frank was watching the show with his wife from the club's DJ booth when he learned that police wanted to shut the show down. He said the police talked with Prince's crew and gave the rocker a little extra time to wind it down. "It's very sad they had to do it, because everybody was having such a wonderful time," said Frank, who nonetheless saw a silver (or purple?) lining in Prince's final comment of the night. "I love you all, and I will be back," the singer said before leaving the stage. He headed directly to his limo, which was parked by the back door. Prince wrote a song entitled Rock and Roll is Alive ... And It Lives in Minneapolis but apparently that adage only holds true between the hours of 9AM and 5Pm. [Source]

And finally, we all know that news broke last week that Lance Bass has got himself a hot new boyfriend ... and since they haven't broken up in the 4 days since the news came out, let's take a look at what man-goodies Lance gets to enjoy these days. Here are a few pics of model Pedro Andrade:

In addition to Pedro just having to look hot for a living, he also works for Click HERE to watch a vid from LX where you can see and hear Pedro in action (he's got a cute accent). I must say, nicely done Lance ... this one looks like a keeper :) [Source]

Les News:
Blah ... this past weekend was pretty emotionally draining and I am happy as hell that it is finally over. Things seem to be looking up this week but I don't want to jump to any conclusions. I will say that it looks like I will be celebrating a happy birthday this Thursday. Mike talked me into hosting a little get-together where I can eat and drink with some of my new LA friends and now it turns out that someone I really wanted to spend my birthday with will be coming to LA to spend it with me. I'm very happy yet a bit cautious. But ... it's still days away so ... I'm just taking things as they come.

Last night I hung out with Tony. We went out for dinner at Stanley's in Sherman Oaks (and we ran into Jenny McCarthy sans Jim Carrey there) and then came back to my place to watch the amazing documovie This Film is not Yet Rated. I heard about this great documentary about the MPAA ratings board but, for obvious reasons, was never able to see it in theaters. I urge you to rent this DVD (Tony got his copy on NetFlix) and check it out. I think you'll be very surprised to learn how the MPAA decides to rate movies.

So yeah ... it's a new week ... let's see how this one turns out. I'm out.
