Rainy Days And Mondays
While Kevin Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is bizzy in LA having any person who has ever worked with, partied with or pretty much even been in the same room with Britney Spears be served with deposition subpoenas in order to gather testimonial evidence against her for K-Fed's legal attack for primary custody of their two sons (the latest subpoenas served went to the Promises Rehab Facility in Malibu, CA -- where Britney spent some time in rehab earlier this year), The Federline himself has been spending his time in his favorite city on Earth -- Las Vegas. Here are pics of K-Fed getting his party on at Tao Nightclub over the weekend:

While sons Sean Preston, 23 months, and Jayden James, 11 months, are away (with mom Britney Spears this weekend), it was Kevin Federline's turn to play... into the early hours of the morning. Federline, who has kept a low profile as his child custody battle with ex Spears looms, hit the Venetian's Tao Nightclub in Las Vegas Friday night with a party of 25. "He was drinking straight from the vodka and Jagermeister bottles," an onlooker said. "I didn't see him with a drink in his hand that much, but he drank out of the bottles a few times." Federline and his group arrived at the club around 11:30 p.m. and had dinner at Tao's Loft before retreating to the club at 1 a.m., says a source. There, Federline, dressed in jeans and a yellow polo shirt, started the party with bottles of Jack Daniels, Grey Goose and Jagermeister. Stationed at his VIP table, Federline chatted with a few of the girls surrounding him, and later migrated to the table full of women adjacent to his. "He was grinding up on a few of the girls," the source said. "He had a flashlight and was shining it on some of the girls around him" ... Smiling and chain-smoking throughout the night, Federline finally left the club around 4 a.m. Clearly, he is trying to show that he is the better equipped parent to take sole custody of his children. I really feel sorry for those poor babies. More and more it's beginning to look like a lose-lose situation for them. Seriously, I think it would be rad if Brangelina just took them into their family so that Britney and Kevin can party up whenever they like, for as long as they like, with whomever they like. Over in Utah, Lindsay Lohan is continuing her strenuous rehabilitation regiment. First she was forced to suffer thru an arduous trip to the tanning salon, then it was demanded of her that she endure a taxing bike ride and now ... this:

Boy, the folks at Cirque Lodge rehab facility in Orem, UT really know how to be tough on their patients. I think I want to go to rehab on my next vacay. [Source]
Brace yourselves, y'all ... I know it may be hard to believe (again and for the umpteenth millionth time) but Babyshambles frontman and former Kate Moss paramour Pete Doherty has been arrested (again) on suspicion of drug possession (again) mere moments after he finished his set at the V Festival over the weekend:
ROCK star Pete Doherty was arrested for suspected drug possession just hours after performing at the V Festival, police sources said today. The 28-year-old singer was arrested in the Tower Hamlets area of east London at about 2am. He is being held at an East London police station after the car he was traveling in was stopped by police. A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "A 28-year-old man was arrested in east London on suspicion of possession of drugs. He is in custody at an east London police station" ... Less than two weeks ago, a judge told Doherty he must kick his drug habit or go to jail. The singer admitted driving illegally while in possession of crack, heroin, ketamine and cannabis in High Street Kensington, west London. District Judge Davinder Lachlar asked for reports on Doherty's rehabilitation before making a decision during a hearing at West London Magistrates' Court. Clearly, this is just a miscarriage of justice because surely Pete Doherty wouldn't dare be caught with illegal narcotics on his person ... again, again, again ... right? [Source]
Pink reader Miranda was in the hiz at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Saturday night to watch the LA Galaxy take on (and ultimately lose to) the New York Red Bulls and she sends in a couple of up-close and personal pics of Becks signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans after the game. Here are a couple of her pics and few more pics of Becks from Saturday night's game:
I was lucky enough to get to see Becks up close and personal this past Saturday after the Red Bulls game, as a close friend works for the NY team. Since he was able to score us "family passes", we waited underneath with all the family and friends. Obviously I was there to check out Beckham, but we waited forever and he was a no-show. Ready to give up, we started walking to the car and then noticed someone signing autographs out by the Galaxy bus ... it was David! I of course walked over and snapped a few pictures; it was getting kind of crowded around him, but he was extremely nice…signing autographs, shaking hands and taking pictures with the fans. Yes, it's true, he is just as gorgeous, if not more so, in person. I find that I must concur, the man is really stunning in person. I am *elated* that he is finally making time to meet and greet the fans who have come out to support him and the LA Galaxy. I understand that Becks wanted to shy away from doing the autograph thing immediately upon his arrival because he didn't want to upstage his entire team ... but it appears that that tactic is no longer in effect. See, now I really wish I could be at this Thursday night's game at the Home Depot Center back in Carson, CA -- cuz my ass would be right outside the door waiting for my own Becks encounter. [Source, Source, thanks Miranda]
Here is one more photo from Paris Hilton's launch of her new clothing line at Kitson in West Hollywood last week ... a photo that I find kinda disturbing, actually:
I mean, yes, Paris Hilton appears to have cleaned up her act in the days since she was released from jail ... but I don't know that I'd be all that cool with my little girl posing with Paris like this. Why in the world do they make that sequined gold dress for children? Obvs, this little girl wants to be the most popular girl in the 3rd grade. If she wears a dress like this to the Back to School mixer then I'm sure she will be the most popular kid in school. [Source]
Awww ... it looks like Brad Pitt has had to leave his happy family and depart from their company after spending such a lovely afternoon with them on that family boat ride they took over the weekend. Here are pics of hawt Brad making his way to the Chicago airport:
It's clear that the kiddies are THE priority in the Brangelina clan so I'm sure Braddykins won't be gone for long. Expect to see pics of Angelina Jolie indulging her children in fun shopping trips, etc. while daddy dearest is away. [Source]
How hot is Chicago right now? Even tho Brad Pitt is leaving town (temporarily, I'm sure) there is a whole lot going on in the Windy city these days. Both Wanted (Angelina's new movie) and The Dark Knight (the Batman sequel) are filming in town right now and it seems like pretty much everyone is coming to town to promote this or that product. And, because the trend of celebrity fragrances is also so hot right now (including celebs who may not have their own fragrances but have signed on to be the face of already established fragrances) I present to you a bunch of pics sent in by Pink reader Whitney who was on hand for an event at Macy's on State St. in Chicago where Gwyneth Paltrow made an appearance to promote the Este Lauder fragrance Pleasures Delight:
Whitney tells me that Gwyneth stuck around for 45 minutes signing bottles of the perfume after she spoke a bit to the waiting crowd. From what I understand, Chicago is a really fun place to be these days since there are all sorts of celebs milling about town. It's too bad that I don't get to spend time in Chicago anymore these days ... I have some fond memories of that great city. I heart Gwyneth, so I thank Whitney for taking the time to send in these awesome pics. [thanks Whitney]
Rufus Wainwright and his amazing technicolor dreamcoat played a show in Central Park here in NYC last night for their SummerStage concert series and here are a few pics:
It has been way too long since I've been able to see Rufus in concert so it's nice to see these pics from last night's show. Fortunately, I will be on hand for Rufus's Judy Garland dream show at the Hollywood Bowl on September 23 -- 46 years after Judy Garland performed the same show at the Hollywood Bowl herself. Wee! I am so excited. Oh and just a head's up for the folks back home in Detroit, Rufus will be performing in Ann Arbor on Friday night :) [Source]
While Rufus was thrilling fans on this side of the pond, his sister Martha Wainwright was on the other side of the pond performing her own show at Shepherds Bush Empire over the weekend. Here are a couple of pics from her show:
As much as I love Rufus, I have to admit that I wish his sister got more credit for her talent as well. Martha is hugely talented and has offered her help and support to every one of Rufus's albums. Her vocals are always amazing and I am a huge fan of her solo albums albums. I've yet to see Martha on her own but I hope to one day. [Source]
Holy Kickass News, Batman! Variety is reporting today that Kristen Bell (of the axed yet beloved show Veronica Mars) has just been added to the cast of Heroes on NBC! She will appear in the hit show's second season starting in October. Make way, Hayden Panettiere, there's a new Hollywood "It" Girl on the block:
NBC is adding former "Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell to the cast of "Heroes." Peacock has snagged Bell for a key multiepisode arc of its sophomore sensation. Casting is a major coup for NBC since Bell -- who plays the title character in Judd Apatow's upcoming "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" -- was reportedly being sought for several TV gigs, including a part on ABC's "Lost." Bell will make her first "Heroes" appearance in October. She'll play Elle, a character described as a sexy, mysterious young lady who has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.'s past and the future of Claire. Elle will kick off her arc by committing a serious crime, though it's unclear whether she's good or bad. "This was not easy to pull off," said "Heroes" creator-exec producer Tim Kring. "But since we're an ensemble show, with many arcs playing out through the year, we found a way to jump into a small window in (Bell's) schedule." Universal Media Studios prexy Katherine Pope also hinted that landing Bell wasn't easy, noting that "many studios (were) chasing her in both film and TV" and that she was happy that Bell "chose to star in our show." In addition to her gig in the Apatow pic, Bell co-stars in the Weinstein Co.'s upcoming "Fanboys" and supplies one of the voices in the 2008 animated Fox feature "Sheepish." She also has another regular role on a network skein, voicing the narrator in CW's new drama "Gossip Girl." Wowie, wow. Things appear to be going very well for Miss Bell these days. Since her show Veronica Mars got cancelled it appears that she became the most sought after TV "It" Actress in town. I'm surprised that she chose to go with Heroes over a stint on Lost -- tho, with the way that new castmembers are treated on that show I can understand why she might choose a better chance at character longevity with Heroes. I am *so* exicted for new eps ... woot! [Source]
Speaking of Heroes, a few of the (hot) castmembers from the show (along with castmembers from Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty) were on hand for the annual Hot in Hollywood variety show at the Henry Fonda Music Box Theater to benefit various AIDS charities last night. Here is a group shot of a bunch of heroes at the charity event last night:
Stars of several hot television shows, including Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty and Heroes, hit the stage Saturday at the Henry Fonda Music Box Theater for a variety show to benefit AIDS causes ... My Name Is Earl's Pressly returned for her second time as host — a tribute to her favorite Uncle Alan, who died of AIDS in the '80s. After a Randolph Duke dress made of Salvation Army neckties that she was modeling sold for only $5,000, Pressly chastised the crowd for not bidding higher: "Lighten up," she said. Her scolding worked. Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia, with cropped hair, promptly donated $7,000 to sit in a chair while Pressly performed a sexy rendition of Fever for him. A bigger spender at the auction was Ugly Betty star America Ferrera, who bid $35,000 for a Toyota Prius. "I already drive a hybrid Highlander, so now I have two hybrids," said Ferrera, who was heading to Duke's home today to shop for an Emmys dress. Ferrera's Betty co-stars Michael Urie and Becki Newton dressed up as Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand to sing You Don't Bring Me Flowers. "It was a big fight, but Becki's playing Barbra and I'm playing Neil," cracked Urie. "We've been practicing it on set every day," Newton added. Ferrera took the stage to sing a number from Gypsy. Crossing Jordan's Jerry O'Connell was her backup dancer. Earlier, O'Connell was sweating bullets over his drag costume — a woman's wig, high heels, underpants and a hot-pink sparkly bikini top that showed off more than he would have liked. "You can see everything," he sighed. The bit was inspired by a Broadway trip that Ferrera took this summer with O'Connell and his wife, Rebecca Romijn. The trio joined Newton and Urie to see Gypsy starring Patti LuPone, who plays Urie's mom on Betty. Heroes villain Zachary Quinto lined up co-stars Sendhil Ramamurthy, Jack Coleman and James Kyson Lee to perform a medley. They were introduced by Ventimiglia, who told Quinto, "I'm not a singer. I'll pick up your microphone if it falls." But it was Grey's Anatomy's Sara Ramirez, a Tony winner for Spamalot, who brought down the house with a rendition of The Man That Got Away from 1954's A Star Is Born. Aww, sounds like a really fun event. I love it when celebs take time out of their crazy schedules to participate and give so generously for such great causes. They can get together and have fun and still help raise lots of money for AIDS research -- what could be cooler than that? It really doesn't take much for someone to be a hero in real life. [Source]
One last bit of Heroesness, here is the first picture of Zachary Qunito (whom I love) posing with Leonard Nimoy since he was cast to play Mr. Spock in the JJ Abrams-directed prequel to the Star Trek TV series and movies:
I know that I was very excited when I heard that Zach was cast as Mr. Spock in the movie but it wasn't until I saw the two men side by side that I realized that he is the perfect actor to play the younger Mr. Spock (especially if you forget that Vulcans ages a lot slower than humans do and, in actuality, shouldn't really need to show that much age difference from his appearance on the show ... but who wants to split hairs?). Click HERE to watch a fun video interview with both actors at the Griffith Park Observatory. [Source]
Lance Bass has begun his stint on Broadway as Corny Collins in the production of Hairspray and here is our first look at him in the role:
WEEEEE! I am so excited because David and I are going to see Hairspray on Thursday night. I've yet to see the show myself and I really wanted to see it before I saw the movie (twice) but timing just didn't work out. Now, I'm glad I missed seeing it before because I can't wait to see Lance in the role as Corny. Additionally, we're going to see Rent tomorrow night which features Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp in their lead roles again. Altho I've seen that show at least 28 times (no lie) I don't know that I'll ever tire of seeing it live -- getting to see it with the original Roger and Mark will be a thrill I never thought I'd get to enjoy. [Source]
Here are a few new promo pics for the upcoming second season of Ugly Betty:
I became a fan of the show late into the season but there is something so charming about it that it's hard to resist. After last season's finale, how could one bail on the show now? Besides, is there any more fabulous kid actor than Mark Indelicato who plays Betty's nephew Justin? Yeah, not even Zac Efron can hold a candle to his fabulosity. I am so ready for the new TV season to start up again :) [Source]
And finally, here are a few of Gwen Stefani's photos from the new issue of In Style magazine:
Altho I really like the pics, over all, and I think the outfits are pretty swish, I think I really hate Gwen's hair. She always looks so amazing that I find that pics of her that aren't quite up to par a bit jarring ... not that she looks bad by any means, I just don't like the hair -- especially on the magazine cover. Better luck next time, Gwennie. [Source]
