The Golden Girl

Last week we saw pics of Britney Spears going around town with her new blonde assistant in tow, showing her the ropes of what it means to be her assistant. I speculated that Brit Brit and her former personal assistant/family member Cousin Alli Sims were on the outs (since Alli not only moved out of Brit's Malibu, CA home just after she lost physical custody of her children but then also resigned as her personal assistant and then seemingly fell off the face of the Earth) but Jordan from BreatheHeavy.com assures me that the girls are still very close and Alli is currently in Nashville, TN working on her debut album. Actually, this is very good news, Brit needs all the allies she can find. But anyways, back to the new assistant ... or should I say newer assistant. I'm glad I didn't even bother trying to find out the new blonde girl's name because, apparently, she's already been given the axe and a new brunette girl has been installed in her stead:

Sadly, Brit hasn't replaced that rat's nest she's got sewn onto her head. Ah well. I guess we'll hafta see how long this new girl lasts. You know, Brit's cavalcade of rotating personal assistants would make an amazing reality TV show. It could be called Britney & Assistants: Sporadic and would chronicle the ins and outs of personally assisting Britney in her day-to-day life. Contestants competing for the honor of working for Britney could compete in challenges like finding out who can clean up dog poop the fastest with the most expensive gowns, who can get Cheetos stains out of white satin and who can successfully get Britney Spears to wear underwear. Shoot, I'd happily put up some prize money for the person who could achieve that last challenge. [Source]

Sadly ... new assistants and trips to Starbucks can't keep our dear Britney happy forever ... here are a few sadish pics of Britters curling up in her car (in her fave locale of late -- the gas station) underneath a jacket that reads, F*ck Off Lover Boy. Could it be a not-so clandestine message to one of her many failed suitors? Or could it be her idea of showing the court that she's ready to be a full time mom again?

In either case, the girl looks extremely lonely. She may be a wreck these days and much of the fallout is, I believe, due to her poor judgment but I cannot for the life of me imagine what her life must be like. I'm not even talking about the immense fame she enjoys ... I'm referring to the corner she has painted herself into with her family, her children, her career -- her life. She seems to be in a hole so deep it would take ages for her to be able to climb out of it and it prolly seems insurmountable that she would be able to regain all the ground she's lost. I bet it's really easy to just smile for the cameras, go about a daily routine and try not to think about the harsh realities of life ... but if she ever really wants to find happiness again, she's gonna hafta learn a new way to live her life. I will continue to hope that she'll one day be able to achieve that new life ... even tho it's really hard to do so some days. [Source]

One last bit of Britness, since the LAPD is being stingy with Britney's mug shot the amazing website Pretty on the Outside has provided one to tide us over until the real mug eventually makes its way to the InterWeb ... behold:

Kylie Minogue was joined by her little sister Dannii and a host of friends at the world premiere of her new documentary entitled White Diamond in London, England last night. White Diamond, which Kylie calls a Thank You to her legions of fans, chronicles her Showgirl: Homecoming tour (her first tour since battling back from her cancer struggle) here are a few amazing photos of both Kylie and Dannii, sparkling in diamonds from Tous jewelers, at the premiere event last night:

Singer Kylie Minogue dazzled on Tuesday night as she showcased her new movie, White Diamonds, that captures the behind-the-scenes of her comeback from breast cancer. The film tells the tale of her rescheduled worldwide Showgirls tour, which had to be postponed after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The Australian singer, beaming on the red carpet, said the film was a "thank you" to the fans for their support and described it as "documentary and a body movie, a road movie and a behind the scenes movie." The singer ... shimmered in a Dolce and Gabbana gown on Tuesday ... [and said] good wishes from her fans were a motivating factor through her fight against the cancer. "So many people kept their tickets for a year and a half, and that gave me so much inspiration." Minogue, 39, said in the Vue Cinema in London's West End that the project was "homemade in many ways" and it started as "quite a humble little project and in many ways it still is." I am EXCEEDINGLY anxious to see this tour docu myself since I wasn't able to see the Showgirl tours at all. I honestly had no doubt that Kylie had the strength and fortitude to fight back her illness and emerge happy and healthy on the other end. I try to make clear how much I really enjoy everything that she does ... I'm so happy that we'll have new music from Kyles very soon and hopefully a new tour. I'm going to do everything in my power to see her next musical jaunt live for myself. It's been far too long coming. [Source]

Here in LA last night, the new horror film 30 Days of Night had its Hollywood premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theater where principle stars including Josh Hartnett and Lucy Lawless were in attendance. Here are a few photos from the red carpet:

On the one hand, I am very interested in seeing this movie since I'm a big fan of the 30 Days of Night graphic novels. I've not read them all but the ones that I have really impressed me. I'm a sucker for a good vampire story, er, pardon the pun. I am a bit concerned that Josh Hartnett has been cast as the lead, tho. I can't remember being all that impressed with anything that he's done thus far but, who knows, maybe vampire movies will be his thing. [Source]

Elsewhere in LA last night, various celebs of varying import convened for the T-Mobile Sidekick LX launch party that was held at The Clubhouse of Griffith Park's Harding and Wilson Golf Course. Kanye West provided the entertainment (homie has been bizzy these past few weeks) and T-Mobile's new Sidekick LX provided the hotness ... here are a few pics:

If I weren't already up to my eyeballs in cell phones (already utilizing 2 at once) I'd totes be all over the new Sidekick LX. It looks like a pretty kick-ass little gadget and is THE official mobile phone of the hipster community. You may recall that Pete Wentz chose the Sidekick mobile phone as the official instrument with which to photograph his naughty bits which, clearly, means the phone will forever be a legend. I wonder which celeb will use the new Sidekick LX to grace us with semi-porno pics of themselves next? [Source]

Kate Moss threw a little shindig for a few of her close, personal friends last night in celebration of the next round of fashions from her TopShop line ... apparently, the party ran until 5AM which means it must've been an early night for Katiekins:

Leave it to Kate Moss to attract the who's who of A-list stars for the launch of her latest Topshop range. With her new boyfriend Jamie Hince firmly by her side, Kate debuted her Christmas collection to a stellar crowd which included X Factor host Simon Cowell, party girls Kelly Osbourne and Lily Allen and jewellery designer Jade Jagger. Kate's supermodel pals Naomi Campbell and Elle Macpherson were out in force, as well as Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum, Davinia Taylor and Chrissie Hynde. Newly minted socialite Princess Beatrice added a royal touch, while Bobby Gillespie and Bob Geldof added some rock and roll credibility ... As soon as the show was over, people ran outside for a cigarette. But they were back in time for pudding and to enjoy a performance by Grace Jones, who entertained into the small hours. With a newly-cut long fringe, eyes underlined in heavy black kohl, and black catsuit and sequinned bolero, Kate certainly turned heads with her sexy new glam rock look. She was clearly in the mood for celebration - the supermodel let loose on the dance floor surrounded by her close friends Naomi and Kelly and stayed out partying until 5am. Wow. I have to give Kate Moss props for having Grace Jones perform at her party ... actually, I have to give mad love to Kate for giving Grace Jones a job in the first place. I always thought that Grace was a bit too fierce to be working at McDonald's (something about her cheekbones). It's a shame the clothes are kinda fug, tho. I hope the gaudy crap these folks are wearing don't come from the new TopShop line. Eek! [Source]

It's time to shake our collective bon bons in celebration of the news that Ricky Martin was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week. Here are a few pics of the former Menudo boybander/current latin pop star basking in the glow of his very own star:

Ricky Martin was surrounded by hundreds of shrieking female fans as he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. "My work has been recognized. It will stay here forever, hopefully," the 35-year-old singer told The Associated Press after the ceremony Tuesday. "I'm so motivated right now, we'll see where this takes me." Fans waved Puerto Rican flags and kept screaming Martin's name as his star was unveiled outside the Virgin Megastore at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. "This is an incredible moment," he told the crowd. "Everything I do, I do with love and passion." Martin is one of Puerto Rico's top-selling artists, with hits including She Bangs and Livin' la Vida Loca. The Grammy-winning singer, who got his start in the 1980s with boy band Menudo, has sold more than 60 million albums as a solo artist ... His star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is the 2,351st awarded. Yes, Ricky ... thank you so much for all your hard work that has been recognized and immortalized by this new honor. Whatever would the world have done had you never uttered the words Livin' La Vida Loca while shaking your hips and ass at breakneck speed? On behalf of the Latinoids the world over, we salute you, Ricky Martin, for making us all proud. Bon bons of the world -- Unite! [Source]

Vanessa Carlton and Sebastian Bach both paid a visit to the MTV studios in Times Square, NYC yesterday each for different reasons. Vanessa had good news, Sebastian had bad. Here are a few pics from their appearances on the show:

Vanessa Carlton just released her new album Heroes and Thieves last week and did some promo work for the album on the show. Sebastian showed up to talk about his failed stint on Celebrity Rap Superstar since he was axed from the competition last week. I was really pullin' for Sebastian on Celebrity Rap Superstar ... he did his thing, his way and did it well ... I would've loved to see him in the final two but, alas, it wasn't meant to be. If anything, I think the rap show really gave him a great shot in the arm popularity-wise ... don't be surprised if we see him on TV again very soon. [Source]

Incidentally, Shar Jackson is gonna win it all ... Kendra Wilkinson is really cute but Shar is the deffo winner of this competition.

Here are a few pics of Lindsay Lohan trying to walk 5 feet along the streets of LA this week:

I'm telling you ... Utah is where she prolly should be. How long until this mess starts undoing all the progress she's made in rehab thus far? If Linds can successfully manage to stay clean under these intense circumstances then she deserves a Congressional Medal of Honor. Good luck, girl. [Source]

Kimora Lee Simmons took her little girls Ming Lee and Aoki Lee (with new boyfriend Djimon Hounsou along to carry stuff) for a little visit to the pumpkin patch this week ... here are a few cute pics:

Can I just tell you how much I love Kimora's show Life in the Fab Lane which just ended its seasonal run on the Style Network this past weekend? The show is amazing ... if only because Kimora is amazing in her fabulosity. I can't get enough of seeing her live her opulent lifestyle while berating her poor staff left and right. I feel so bad for the folks that work for her ... even tho I know she cares for them (in her own way), her insane expectations are just too much. I love it. The only thing missing from the show is the slapping ... she didn't haul off and slap one person :( I guess they're saving that stuff for the Naomi Campbell show. Anyways, try and catch Life in the Fab Lane in repeats while you can ... it's a really fun show. [Source]

But, as faboo as Kimora Lee Simmons is ... she really can't compare to the Queen Diva of All Time ... Miss Mariah Carey ... who was spotted making a grand exit from restaurant Ago here in LA this week:

Mimi deigned to raise her dainty hand to wave a simple hello to all the well-wishers who were amassed to view her exit, cuz she's a benevolent diva. You know, someone should give her a show ... she would prance around in lingerie that is 2 sizes too small as she slaps people (forget Naomi). OMG ... dream come true. C'mon MTV/VH1/Bravo ... someone make it happen. [Source]

Whoa ... someone needs to get Superman back to the gym ... these pics of Smallville's Tom Welling are totes undoing all the naughty Superman fantasies that I've been enjoying for the past few years:

I know I'm not the only one who immediately thought that laptop computer he's holding was a pizza box. It looks like Tom is very familiar with pizza boxes. [Source via ONTD!]

OK! magazine paid for scored the exclusive photos of Pamela Anderson and Rick Solomon's quickie classy Las Vegas wedding ... here are a couple of the pics:

"I am finally fulfilled in my life in every area," Pamela Anderson told OK! following her Oct. 6 nuptials to Rick Salomon. "I'm having the best time in my life." And while the wedding was classic Pam — whimsical, romantic and planned at lightning speed — the couple revealed to OK! that it was actually Rick who organized the ceremony from top to bottom, hiring Rachel Ashwell of Shabby Chic to transform a villa at the Mirage with white roses, balloons and hundreds of votive candles. With the blessing of her father, Pamela's driver and confidante Errol Lyon gave her away. Friend and stylist Charlene Roxborough helped the Baywatch babe pick out her cream denim Valentino gown and vintage Neil Lane jewelry for the ceremony, which Pam described to OK! as "unpretentious and super-genuine." Um ... "unpretentious and super-genuine"? How about "uninspired and super-ironic" -- the damn dress is white! LOL. I guess I would describe Rick's wedding attire, black suit and knit cap ensemble, as Kevin Federline meets ... uh, Kevin Federline. Best of luck, you two. [Source]

And finally, some industrious hacker managed to hack into both Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's official websites in order to post messages that they were the ones responsible for spreading the LC sex tape rumor, coincidentally the morning after the episode of The Hills revolved around that very topic. Hmm ... I wonder if LC's best friend Lo is good with computers ....

Heidi Montag wants to set the record straight about a surprising posting that went up on her Web site Monday—she didn't post it. "My Web site was hacked last night, so I'm not sure what was posted up," she said Tuesday during an event at a Los Angeles Taco Bell in support of World Hunger Relief Week. A posting dated Oct. 16 and titled "The Truth" went live on Monday night, reading: "Me and Spencer did spread the false rumors about Lauren's sex tape." The Hills star Lauren Conrad has long blamed Montag and her fiancé Spencer Pratt for starting rumors about an alleged X-rated tape, which Conrad insists does not exist. Montag and Pratt seemed more perplexed than anyone else as to how the posting made it on the site, with Pratt citing the "Blonde Defense." "I don't think [Heidi] would even know how to log in to her Web site," he joked to reporters. Montag quickly added, "Yeah, I don't even know how to run that, or else I would have put up World Relief Week, and all these statistics about world hunger." As for finding the culprit behind the posting, Pratt seemed ready to bring out the big guns, "Right now they're trying to track down whose IP [address] it was. We got Jack Bauer on it," he cracked. Yeah, it was ingenious of the hackers to use poor grammar in the "fake posts" in order to make them seem genuine ... as you can tell by the the horrendous grammar that was used in the real posts that went on the site after the hacked posts were removed :) [Source, Source, Source]

Les News:
Yesterday was another chill day ... I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things since returning home from NYC. I miss being with David so I guess I'm not all that excited about going out. I wasn't feeling too great last night at all ... but I did manage to get out of the house for a bit to take in a movie. I went out to see Elizabeth: The Golden Age:

I knew I was gonna love the film and I was right. Unfortch, I read a few reviews of the movie that weren't that favorable (particularly the one in Entertainment Weekly -- which was a bummer cuz I usually agree with their reviews) that almost ruined the movie for me. I'm glad the movie is, in my opinion, very, very good. The iconography used in the film is stunning ... the opulent costume scenes and vast outdoor scenes are really impressive. The movie had a bit of melodrama (which is to be expected in period pieces) but it wasn't overwrought with it ... the longing romantic scenes work well, I think. I liked the love triangle in the film ... altho I'm not sure if it is based in fact or not, they did a good job of making it seem entirely believable. Because Spain is the "bad guy" in the film, the King of Spain was made to look like a mad man ... actually, he had an undead Marc Anthony look about him, which I'm sure the people of Spain won't appreciate. The final showdown between England and the Spanish Armada was really fun to watch ... I never really imagined what that battle might look like so the movie version was very entertaining. Honestly, I could've done without the nod to Braveheart at the end of the film where Queen Elizabeth (in full armor and utterly unnecessary flowing wig) spoke to the troops but ... it's a movie, so I guess you can't really complain. I really enjoyed the film a lot ... it got me excited about picking up my Elizabeth I book by Anne Somerset again (I put it down a few weeks ago to read other stuff). Fans of the first movie will love this sequel. Check it out.

And ... I guess that's it ... I'm supposed to be meeting up with The GangTM ce soir since they can get me out of the house ... and I'm out.
