Mending Fences

Another weekend is upon us and, of course, that means another round of shenanigans by our dear Britney Spears. Thankfully there is some good news to relay but let's get the craziness out of the way first. We've been seeing that Brit Brit has been spending a lot of time with JR Rotem in the days since she lost primary custody of her children, running around town to get coffee or fast food, because apparently that's what one does when one loses custody of their children ... but I digress. Britters returned to her Malibu, CA home late Friday night/early Saturday morning after enjoying the company of JR only to discover that the place was broken into -- oh no!

Natch, Brit didn't feel safe enough to stay in her home so she hightailed it a hotel to spend the night (personally, I think this is the lamest excuse for her to "need" to stay at a hotel but, whatevs) but along the way she suffered a flat tire. Thankfully, the herd of paparazzi who follow her wherever she goes helped out with her flat tire while a bunch of cops showed up to keep Brit company as the paps worked on her car. Yeah, folks, this is the way that Britney Spears lives her life. Glamorous, huh? [Source]

In really great, really hopeful news ... it looks like Brit's mother Lynne and little sister Jamie Lynn Spears did fly into LA to pay Britney a little visit. Yesterday I posted pics of Lynne and JL arriving at LAX airport in LA but I wasn't sure why they had come to town ... apparently, Britney's family flew to her side to be with her in her time of need -- and I say, it's not a moment too soon. Here are a few pics of Britney with her little sister Jamie Lynn as they made their way around town last night hitting hot spots like The Stinking Rose (a garlic restaurant) and Taco Bell:

Days after losing custody of her two kids, Britney Spears found some solace by reuniting with estranged mom Lynne Spears. "Brit really needed her mom," a source tells PEOPLE. "So Lynne flew out and they met." Spears will be needing all the support she can get. Documents released Thursday regarding her heated custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline revealed stricter measures, particularly placed on her ... Sources say Lynne and Britney's younger sister Jamie Lynn flew from Kentwood, La., to Los Angeles Friday evening. On arrival at LAX, the two were mobbed by photographers ... Around 3 a.m., Lynne paid a visit to her daughter's Beverly Hills home before driving the two of them to Spears's new Malibu pad. The mother-daughter pair had a falling out back in June, when Spears handed her mother a reportedly upsetting letter. According to TMZ, the letter asked that Lynne stay away from Spears's sons if she is taking any medications that might cause her to be impaired. Spears told reporters at the time, "I'm praying for her right now. [I hope] she gets all the help she needs." Says a source, for now, "Everything's great." Thank Jebus! Obvs, I don't believe that all of Britney's problems are going to go away overnight but mending fences with her family is a great first step. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if Britney sought out treatment of a more substantial sort (maybe up in Utah?) but I'm hopeful that the positive influences of her mother might help Britney get her shizz straight so that she can begin to turn her life around. I *much* prefer seeing our dear Britney going out with her little sister than with JR Rotem. [Source]

Pamela Anderson and her fiancée of 15 minutes Rick Solomon made their way to Las Vegas this weekend after applying for and receiving a marriage license ... but, before the couple said their I Dos, Pammy Pie had something to take care of first. Here are pics of Pamela and magician Hans Klok at an Octoberfest celebration at the Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas:

After tapping the first keg and sippin' on a few mugs of beer, Pam and Hans parted ways ... Hans to prepare for his magic show performance at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino and Pamela Anderson to marry the latest "love of her life", Rick Solomon:

Pamela Anderson has said "I do" for the third time to longtime pal Rick Salomon. The pair tied the knot Saturday night in Las Vegas at the Mirage Hotel before Anderson's children and members of her family, sources confirm to PEOPLE. A conventional marriage it wasn't, as the nuptials actually took place in an hour-and-a-half between Anderson's two magic shows. Anderson, 40, donned a white denim Valentino dress at the small ceremony. Wedding guests included Tobey Maguire, Lukas Haas and magician Hans Klok. After the nuptials, it was right back to work for Anderson, who made no secret that she had just gotten married. "Hello, I just got married…I did," Anderson said after performing in the second magic show of the night. "I'm distracted. It's a big day. A big day at the office." Talk about your magical weddings. I don't know about you but something about this union seems destined for complete success. I'm sure that this will turn out to be Pamela Anderson's longest running marriage yet ... it's already Sunday afternoon and they're still together! Congrats Pam and Rick! [Source]

In other interesting couples news ... here are a few pics of a couple of Heroes who maintain that they are "just friends" even tho they love spending lots of time together and always look so entirely happy when they do so. Here are pics of Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiligia laughing up a storm together at the Los Angeles Kings hockey game last night:

Pink reader Melissa was at the hockey game with Hayden and Milo, or Haylo if you will, and sends in this report: Last night I was at the Kings home opener at Staples Center and had quite the celebrity sighting! As I looked around my area, I realized that I was one section over from Milo (yes, as you know he is that hot in person). He seemed to be having a good time and was checking his cell often. At the beginning of the third period, he and his friend came back to their seats and two blondes were following them - Hayden and Kristen Bell! Kristen went to sit with some friends a few rows up and Hayden sat between Milo and his friend. I had a prime view and saw them looking at each other fondly a few times, not to mention his hand on her leg and her rubbing his back (a lot). If I didn't believe the rumors before, I do now! The jumbotron put them up on the big screen and Hayden seemed to shy away while Milo was trying to divert the attention to the row behind him. Why? Because David Boreanez was there with his whole family. I wish I was able to snap a picture of Hayden and Milo, but my camera battery had died at that point. Just friends, huh? Personally, I think they make a supercute couple and I really hope that they are having a great time together, whatever it is that they're calling it. Love it! [Source]

You know what else I love ... close-up photos of Jake Gyllenhaal when he does press conferences for his movies. Here is a whole slew of said photos from his recent press conference for his new movie Rendition:

Those eyes, that smile, all that cute face fuzz ... I don't even care that Jakey poo's movies usually suck and hardly ever make money (except for the utterly amazing Brokeback Mountain), I'm happy to pony up the $10 bucks just to watch him up on the big screen. Le sigh, indeed. [Source]

Newsflash: Sophia Bush is a fan of Pinkberry:

As far as powdered yogurt-like frozen desserts go, I personally am not a huge fan of the Pinkberry. I'm more a Tast-E-Delight man, myself (something about the plastic-tastingness of Tasti D that really gels with me), but I can appreciate Sophia having her favorite brand of fake ice cream product. I guess there are worse ways to ruin your insides. [Source]

Alyson Hannigan and hubby Alexis Denisof were spotted at their friendly neighborhood Coffee Bean a couple of nights ago and Aly obliged the photogs with a few posed shots;

It's always so nice to see Aly and Alexis out and about around town. I love them :) [Source]

It is with EXTREME pleasure that I can report that the University of Oklahoma defeated the University of Texas in their 109th face-off at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX yesterday afternoon. I'm not a huge sports fan overall (despite being a huge fan of sports players) but I do tend to get all excited when the OU Sooners (my alma mater) take on the UT cows. The game was a close one, as the teams were tied for a good portion of the game, but in the end the Sooners emerged victorious with a final score of 28-21, the closet scoring margin in about 10 years:

As far as football rivalries go, the OU v. TX game is among the biggest in the nation. You don't even know how seriously the folks down in Norman, Oklahoma take this yearly match up. This year the game was a bit more special for me ... Mike went to UT and we had ourselves a little bet. The loser would buy the winner the dessert of their choice at the House of Pies back in LA. I'm very much looking forward to my dessert when I get back home next week. Mike, for his part, was a gentleman and he took the loss like a good sport. UT may not be great at football but they do teach their alumni how to be good sports when they lose ... yearly ... to the mighty Oklahoma Sooners :) [Source]

And finally, in keeping with the football theme, let's check in with the Hot Dude Dudes of the Week ... say hello to footballers John and Bryan:

Okay ... call me crazy but I think that all football games should be played topless. Doesn't it sound like a more fun experience for the viewer to have all those hot, sweaty men falling on top of and wrestling for balls on the lush green grass while wearing as little clothing as possible? Sure the helmets and pads are worn for the players' protection but clearly John and Bryan are having no problem with the shirtless action. Play ball!!! [Source]

Les News:
Ack ... I am not feeling totally 100% this afternoon (as is usually the case the morning after I spend the night out with Mo Money) ... as soon as I arrived here in NYC last night, David and I met up with his sister Eden and our friend Monique for a quick bite to eat before meeting up with Mo's friend Holly and then hitting the town to get our collective party on. First we went out to grab drinks with David's friend Jeremy at Therapy (where I got to meet and hang out with Pink reader and NYC law student Jackson) before relocating to The Ritz for more drinks and dancing.

Yeah, that place was as packed as it ever was so we never made it to the dancefloor ... opting to get our grooves on next to the bar (natch). I got to meet Pink readers Vincent and Nicolas at the bar and was able to chat with each of them for a few mins. before some random guy who kept trying to stick his hand down the back of my pants forced us to try another place. We ended up going all the way across town only to end up at a bar where some strange buy nice guy from London tried to pick up our ladies for his shy friends at the bar. When the bottle of champagne he promised never materialized we decided to call it a night.

And that, folks, was that.

Tonight David and I are having dinner with his friend Sashie and her fiancée Will and then I'm hoping we'll be able to enjoy some much needed alone time.

And ... that is all. Enjoy what's left of your weekend ... I am OUT :)
