Double Doll Duty

The Spice Girls made a mostly triumphant return to the stage in their homeland across the pond this weekend. The Spice Girls Reunion Tour finally began its European leg of the tour with its first stop in London, England. Hopes were high that things would kick-off in the UK without any problems (especially after Baby Spice injured her foot in Las Vegas last week) and, as far as I can discern, the show did go off without a hitch ... but there was one little thing that popped up (and out) on stage last night that has seemed to overshadow the entire show. Vicki B. must've been so fond of the bulge that her hubby David Beckham has been packing into his tight little Armani Underwear that she decided to bust out a bulge of her own ... except, VB's bulge kinda pooped out near her armpit -- out of her faboo but prolly too-tight Roberto Cavalli costume ... check it out:

[W]hen the girls took to the stage for the first time in almost a decade, Victoria Beckham showed a little more flesh than expected – and in all the wrong places. The 33-year-old suffered a "wardrobe malfunction", spilling out of her tight golden corset and exposing an unattractive lump of flesh just under her right armpit. Rumour had it that Posh had her breast implants taken out before the world tour, fearing they would pop out of her Roberto Cavalli outfits during energetic dance routines. But it seems that wasn't enough. It's strange to see any bit of Vicki B. look so ... flabby ... but I guess the rumor about the removed implants makes sense. If her boobs had been reduced then she would have excess skin that would need to be tucked away into an outfit like this. I suppose it's possible that VB didn't have her boobs reduced and the tightness of the top just pushed some of her silicone out under her armpit. In either instance, that piece of flabby skin looks incredibly unsightly and insanely grody to the max. [Source]

Elsewhere in the UK, Kylie Minogue was the guest performer on the hit British talent show X-Factor (which is kind of like our American Idol which was modeled on the British original version of the show Pop Idol) and she showed up dressed in bits and pieced from her grandmum's lace table cloth, draped over a form-fitting corset. Hey, at least she didn't have part of a silicone boob oozing out of her armpit:

Sizzling sex kitten Kylie Minogue stole the X Factor style crown last night - and left her sister Dannii firmly in the fashion stakes shade. Renown for her jaw-dropping outfits, the pop princess excelled herself as she stalked on to stage in a figure-hugging black lace catsuit, black leotard and strappy sky-scraper heels. She had appeared on the show to duet with finalist - and eventual winner - Leon Jackson, 18. But as the pair launched into her classic hit Better The Devil You Know, Kylie's attention grabbing outfit - rather than the music - was the centre of attention. Kylie has recently described her delight at the way her fuller figure after battling back from breast cancer. And every single one of her burgeoning curves was on display as she shimmied across the stage - and perched coquettishly on top of a grand piano. X Factor judge Dannii, who has been coaching Leon, has never been known for her reticent style but she looked positively demure beside her stunning sister. After their duet, Kylie told Leon: "I love your voice, not to mention that you're cute and adorable and everyone loves you – I have fallen under your spell today." Dannii added, "You walked into the first audition on your own – now you're like the Pied Piper, you have everybody following you, congratulations." A double helping of Minogue magic was clearly just what the fresh-faced boy-next-door needed as he went on to win the £1 million recording contract beating hot favourite Rhydian Roberts. I confess, I do not watch X-Factor nor have I ever but it sounds like this Leon fellow had a hugely unfair advantage with all the hot Minogueness in his corner. While I'm not a huge fan of this doily-turned outfit that Kylie is rockin', I do love that she came out and appeared on the show to lend her star power to the contestant who received tutelage from her sister Dannii. I just hope she burns this little number and never wears it again ... ever. [Source]

Here in LA, cast members from the NBC show Heroes were on hand at the Los Angeles Theatre for an appearance at the Jules Verne Adventures Film Festival for an event that honored comic book legend Stan Lee with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Here are a few pics of Les Heroes at the event:

Any event that culls together 4 or more Heroes is an event not to be missed ... from video game launch parties, to energy drink launch parties, to car dealership opening parties ... these folks show that they cannot be bought and sold at will and are a hard commodity to come by. In fact, Stan Lee should be more honored that the Heroes came together to honor him, rather than the sill ol' trophy he got from the film festival. Yessir ... I know I'd be happy just to have Milo Ventimiglia come out and honor me ... how much does that honor cost again? [Source]

Uh oh ... does anyone one else think it's a really, really, really bad idea that Lindsay Lohan continues to be seen with music producer JR Rotem out in public on social occasions when we are being led to believe that they are merely working together on material for her new album? Here are pics of L. Lo and JR making a grand exit together after having had dinner at Katsuya here in LA this weekend:

While I really, really hope that Lindsay has, in fact, "grown up" like she claims she has in a recent interview ... I can't help but think this new "working" relationship with JR Rotem is just the worst idea possible right now. If, in a year's time, we end up talking about Lindsay's relapse and eventual downfall, I'm pretty sure we'll be able to point to this moment in time as the catalyst for her relapse. Is it ever too early to stage an intervention? [Source]

AWWWWW ... here are pictures of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz gettin' all snuggly and lovey-dovey as they sat courtside at Madison Square Garden for the NJ Nets vs NY Knicks basketball game last night:

The relationship between Ashl33n is one that I fully endorse as opposed to the LL + JR debacle that I fear is taking shape. Ashlee and Pete make a sickeningly cute couple and it's clear that they really do care for one another. They make a great couple. [Source]

After 5 long years, Celine Dion has determined that her heart simply cannot go on any longer ... last night, she took her last bows in Las Vegas as her show A New Day ended its run at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace. Here are a few pics of Celine during her tear-stained, flower petal-strewn goodbye:

Celine Dion called it a wrap at Caesars Palace, acknowledging in her final show that pregnancy and poor early reviews almost sank her titanic five-year engagement. As adoring fans cheered, stood and clapped through Saturday night's performance, Dion interspersed her usual numbers with emotion-filled monologues. "At one point, it was like feeling like the Titanic was about to sink again," she said. "But we believed and we went on with it. Even though the vibe was not that positive for us." While the show was still in development in 2000, Dion, 39, became pregnant and told husband-manager Rene Angelil she did not want to continue. "I had a life for the first time," the French-Canadian chanteuse said in a video before her 717th show. "I knew then that I wanted to have more success as a mother than a singer." But Angelil told her that too much money and too many people were involved. Not only would the Colosseum cost $95 million to build, her initial three-year, $100 million contract broke records for a live entertainer. So she pushed on, fighting through initial bad reviews to make it five years of filling a 4,100-seat arena. After her last number, Dion invited husband Angelil and her son, Rene-Charles, now 7, on stage with her. Rene-Charles repeatedly reached down to grab rose petals that rained down on the final bow, giving them to her. "Most of us have left our families behind to give ourselves every night," she said. "I can assure you it was worth it." Since opening in March 2003, Dion's show, "A New Day ... " grossed more than $400 million and was seen by nearly 3 million fans. Dion said one fan had seen her Las Vegas show more than 100 times. Tickets for the final show were for sale on EBay for as much as $1,899 ... Dion starts touring with a first concert date set for Valentine's Day in Johannesburg, South Africa. Taking Dion's place at Caesars Palace will be Bette Midler's "The Showgirl Must Go On," which is set to open Feb. 20. "Tomorrow morning, it will be back to reality and back to (being) mommy," Dion told reporters after the show. Boo. It will be my life's regret that I never made the time to see Celine's Las Vegas show. I have been to LV many, many times during her residency and even made soft plans with folks to make the trek to Vegas specifically to see the show but other plans, other shows took precedence and the time got away from me. Most recently, The GangTM and I started talking about making the trip but it never really progressed past the, "We should really set a date and go" stage of planning. David and I were about to buy tickets for the show last December but we ended up seeing Prince at the Rio Casino instead. I'm sure the show was a couple hours of cheesy fun ... which, even if they do release it on DVD for sale, I will never be able to fully realize and enjoy the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Boo. Yesterday I posted the new Motorola ad which features David Beckham, a snake and the new Moto RAZR2 V8 Lux mobile phone ... here are a few pics of the 18-carat gold plated gold masterpiece in all its glory:

This from the press release for the phone: This special edition of the RAZR2 has gone "lux" with 18k and 24k gold plated accents standing out against a luminous, black slate, vacuum metal finish. Decadent details, such as elegant pin stripes on the CLI lens, an engraved diamond-cut pattern on the sideband and a linear etching on the navigation wheel add to the edgy, yet chic, finishes of the device. With a soft-touch back, embossed with a snakeskin effect, the device even feels luxurious in the hand. This special edition mobile device features a full suite of in-demand features, including Crystal TalkTM technology, quad-band technology, a full HTML browser1, and a 2.0 megapixel camera with 8X digital zoom, video capture and playback to catch every glamorous moment in high-resolution. The special edition of the RAZR2 features a large, 2.0”, interactive, color external screen where consumers can read and respond to texts and manage their music with touch sensitive music keys that give a vibrational response – all without opening the flip. Brills! Now I understand why David Beckham would choose to endorse such a product! These tech specs sound exactly like the ones that came along with his robotic wife, Vicki B. I understand she even comes with the "snakeskin effect" feature as well. All kidding aside, this faboo phone looks like it would be the perfect gift for that oh-so-special someone on your Xmas list who enjoys the finer things in life. With all the cool kids showing off their iPhones this year, having this sweet Moto RAZR2 special edition is sure to set you apart from the masses. [Source]

And finally, it's time for the Hot Dude of the Week. Speculation has been rampant since the first David Beckham for Armani Underwear ad was released to the InterWeb last Monday as to whether or not the bulbous bulge in Becks undies was stuffed or not ... sooo, I thought it would be appropriate for this week's Hot Dude, Jesse, to show us just what an unstuffed, yet super hot bulge looks like in comparison:

Mmmm hmmm ... it appears that the bulge in Jesse's package looks nice, normal and totally unstuffed and, yet, it's still really super hawt. I know it sounds like I'm complaining about the Becks picture but I'm really not ... I'm just saying that things don't have to be (allegedly) enhanced so much (or at all) to make for a great pic. Jesse, we salute you for going out of your way to show us that bulges don't have to be overtly manipulated to bulbous proportions in order to achieve maximum hawtness. [Source]

Sorry Y'all, No Newslinks Today

Yesterday afternoon, Sarah and I had an amazing dinner at Rambutan Thai in Silverlake before we made the long trek (due to ridic traffic as opposed to actual distance) down to the OC to see Tori Amos perform her second-to-last concert of the American Doll Posse Tour at the Grove of Anaheim. Sarah and I were hoping that we would get to see either Clyde or Isabel as the Doll du jour since we both already got to see Pip and Santa in concert before. We were a tad bummed when Pip walked out on to the stage to do her set but where thrilled when she left the stage and then Santa came out to perform a set of her songs as well. Folks, we got double dolled ... and it was glorious. Here are a few pics and the setlist from the show last night:

Act IPip

Cruel
Teenage Hustling
Heart of Gold
The Waitress

Interlude/Costume change

Body and Soul jam

Act IISanta (pouring Orange Juice as she took the stage)

Body and Soul
She's Your Cocaine
You Can Bring Your Dog
Raspberry Swirl

Interlude/Costume change

Professional Widow (Remix)

Act IIITori

Liquid Diamonds

T & Bö

Carbon
Take Me With You

Pretty Good Year
Hotel

Encore 1Tori

Precious Things
Tear In Your Hand

Encore 2Pip (sans rubber, in jeans and vest)

Suede

Not only were we ecstatic that we got to see 2 dolls in one show but we are now pretty confident that we'll get to see the other 2 dolls in concert at tonight's show here in LA at the Nokia Theater (actually, we heard rumblings that all 4 dolls might make appearances tonight but I'd be happy with just the other 2 I've yet to see live). Pip came out and did her usual pissy performance but when Santa came out, she brought along a jug of orange juice to pour out for her fellas on stage and to sprinkle onto the audience up front. I assume it was an ode to the OC. The set list was phenomenal ... not only did Sarah and I get to hear a bunch of songs we've yet to hear live on this tour (Heart of Gold, Raspberry Swirl, Take Me With You, Pretty Good Year) but Tori also performed our fave song together, Tear In Your Hand (as a sort of goodbye from the soon ending tour). AND THEN, as if all of this wasn't awesome enough, Pip came out for the second encore to perform Suede ... for the first time, she was not wearing her rubber leggings ... she came out in slim jeans and a black vest. It was a truly spectacular show. The only downside for Sarah and me (and the folks in our general vicinity) was that we were plagued by a girl who looked to be cracked out on some drug since she was really bothersome and out of it for the entire night. I'm just glad she didn't pass out or puke on us.

Here is a short video of Tori saying a bit of a goodbye from the stage:

Our night was extra special because before the show, Sarah and I got to meet Pink reader Tiffany and her beautiful baby boy John. Tiffany works for the Grove of Anaheim and she brought her baby out so that I could meet and then fall in love with him. He is so precious ... and it was so nice meeting Tiffany and her co-worker Carrie backstage. She let us inside so that we could hear a bit of Tori's soundcheck and then we hung out for a bit before the doors opened at the venue ... until John was ready for his bath and then bedtime:

I also got to meet Pink readers Melissa and Kate as well. We had the best time!

After the show, we flew back to LA so that we could make Adriana's party only to show up and find the party had ended :( We ate and drank a bit and the called it a night.

Today, Sarah and I are gonna try to go shopping before the show tonight and then we are seeing Tori Amos one last time for the last date of the American Doll Posse Tour.

I hope y'all are having a great day ... I am out ;)
