It's The Final Countdown
David Beckham was all smiles at a training session in Spain with his current soccer team Real Madrid ...
... Mr. Beckham is just one soccer season away from entering into a contract that will pay him $250 million dollars over five years to play soccer for the MLS team the LA Galaxy -- wouldn't you be smiling too? I bet his Real Madrid teammates aren't smiling as much tho ... can you imagine their jealousy at Beck$ new pay day? In other soccer news, there are now rumors that another international soccer player called Ronaldo is considering a move to the US to play for the NY soccer team, hilariously enough called the Red Bulls: In the wake of Beckham joining the Los Angeles Galaxy, sources inside Major League Soccer tell TMZ that, among other players, Brazilian soccer superstar Ronaldo could be the next player joining Becks in America ... Sources say that New York could be the site of Ronaldo's landing, adding that NY's infatuation with celebrity athletes makes it the perfect place for him. As for Ronaldo himself, sports insiders say his impact, while big, will be nowhere near that of Beckham's. Ronaldo, while talented on the field, does not have the same charm and charisma that Becks does. You know ... all Ronaldo needs to do is find a Scientology sponsor to help bring him to America and he'll be all set ... just like Beck$. Heh ... I sincerely doubt that the world's serious soccer players will be moving to the US to play for our our MLS teams ... cuz no matter how much you pay a big name to play soccer here in the US there is *no way* that our country is going to start taking the game seriously. Beck$ can work it and be all pretty and show up at all the coolest LA events but I find it extremely hard to believe that people will suddenly become Major League Soccer fans. [Source, thanks Pia]
Here are a few photos of some caped creature picking up David Beckham's eldest children, Brooklyn and Romeo, from school:

If it weren't for the protruding, over-inflated lips and stick thin legs I might've missed that this caped creature is, in fact, their mother Victoria Beckham. [Source]
I fear that the Beckham's youngest child, Cruz, is still a bit frightened by his mother's scary appearance which is why Beck$ came along to pick him up from day care:
I gotta say ... I'm very much looking forward to seeing more photos of menial day-to-day tasks done by the Beckhams here in the US when they move here this summer. They will all fit in very nicely amongst the Hollywood glitterati. [Source]
Speaking of the Hollywood glitterati, some of the biggies came out for the 12th annual Critic's Choice Awards in Santa Monica, CA last night where Dreamgirls and Little Miss Sunshine each took home four awards ... here are a few photos from the red carpet:

"Little Miss Sunshine," the heartwarming story about family dysfunction, and the musical "Dreamgirls," led winners at the 12th annual Critics' Choice Awards on Friday night. Both films earned four awards, though "The Departed" took home top prizes for best picture and best director. "Little Miss Sunshine" won for best acting ensemble, best young actress for Abigail Breslin, best young actor for Paul Dano and best writer for Michael Arndt. Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson of "Dreamgirls" earned honors in the best supporting actor/actress categories. The film also earned an award for best soundtrack, while Beyonce won for best song for "Listen." Helen Mirren earned the best actress nod for her portrayal of
Queen Elizabeth II in "The Queen. Forest Whitaker won best actor for "The Last King of Scotland." Woot! Things are coming along nicely ... it looks like Jennifer Hudson is just rolling towards her Oscar win for Best Supporting Actress and Helen Mirren towards her Oscar win for Best Actress. I love that little Abigail Breslin is also getting recognition for her acting skillz ... I find her way more interesting and likeable to watch on screen than Dakota Fanning. [Source]
Madonna put in another appearance at a premiere screening of her new movie Arthur and the Invisibles in Tribeca, NYC:
I'm perplexed why she's wearing little fuzzy eyeballs all over her blouse but you know Madonna ... always one to start new fashion trends. [Source]
Kiefer Sutherland is also in NYC but he's not out pimpin' any new projects (necessarily) ... he's was just spending some time strollin' the streets of New York:

You know, I love Kiefer but there is something about him that just makes him seem unfriendly. Perhaps it's all of his Jack Bauerness but sometimes he just looks like he's ready to beat someone's ass. [Source]
Um ... this picture of Paris Hilton is extremely disturbing:
Has she always been toothless? Is anyone else kinda grossed out by this? [Source, thanks Nat]
After being rejected by Louis Vuitton, it appears that Lindsay Lohan has finally convinced a major fashion house to let her be their spokesmodel ... for some reason, Miu Miu thought that aligning their brand name with Lindsay Lohan would be a good idea. Here is the first of L. Lo's ads for Miu Miu:
It's an interesting look ... very sleek and fashionable. Lindsay looks her best with red hair. I like the look of this ... we'll see if Lindsay is capable of selling this stuff. [Source]
Er ... while I'm fairly certain that Victoria Beckham is a robotic alien from planet XELNON, I had no idea that Jennifer Garner had alien-like tendencies as well:
She's not even a Scientologist! WTF? [Source]
And finally ... it's time for this week's batch of pictures sent in by Pink is the new Blog readers -- Leora and her new bunny send in some lurvin' -- Audrie from Australia and Steve from Connecticut who are celebrating their recent engagement ... Steve proposed to Audrie on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building over the holidays -- Mikel and Lara partying with their custom made Pink is the new 40 oz. labels -- Caroline and her friends who each graduated with their Master's degrees from Northwestern University -- Jamie showing her pride for the University of Florida Gators for winning the BCS National Championship this year:
Much love and congrats to you all ... thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart for all the amazing pictures. It is the best feeling when I get to see PITNB readers lookin' so happy in celebration ... thank you all for sharin' the lurve! XOXOX
