"Pink Goes Good With Green"
Alls I know is that homegirl must be gettin' real worried about her looming date with destiny. She's only got a little over a week left to say her prayers on the outside before she has to spend 23 days on the inside. Yeah, you just know the poor thing is suffering thru that butterflies-in-the-stomach/ever-present nauseating feeling in the pit of her belly. I'll say it again, I'd be prayin' my butt off if I were in the same sitch. [Source]
The Japanese MTV Video Music Awards took place in Saitama, Japan at the Saitama Super Arena yesterday (which, because of the time difference, is actually today [or is it tomorrow? I'm so bad figuring these things out in my head]) and there were a few peeps that we know on this side of the globe who were in attendance ... some even picking up awards of their own. Here are a few pics:
Canadian crooner Daniel Powter wasn't having a "Bad Day" at the Japanese MTV VMAs, he walked away with the award for Best Album of the Year. Ne-Yo walked away with the Best New Artist Video award and My Chemical Romance took the prize for Best Rock Video. British singer Mika wasn't merely in the hiz to perform on the show, he was there to hang out with the cute teddybear who was chillin' backstage as well. [Source]
After Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck had their headline grabbing split-screen showdown on The View earlier this week, Rosie took a day off to celebrate her wife's 40th birthday at home. There was much speculation that she would not be returning to The View to finish out her dwindling contract with the show and yesterday it was made official ... Rosie will not be returning to The View -- at least, not for quite some time:
Here is the text of the statement issued by Brian Frons, President of ABC Daytime: "We had hoped that Rosie would be with us until the end of her contract three weeks from now, but Rosie has informed us that she would like an early leave. Therefore, we part ways, thank her for her tremendous contribution to 'The View' and wish her well." Of course Barbara Walters had to throw in her $0.02 and issued this statement: "I brought Rosie to the show. Rosie contributed to one of our most exciting and successful years at "The View." I am most appreciative. Our close and affectionate relationship will not change." For her part, Rosie had this to say: "I'm extremely grateful. It's been an amazing year and I love all three women." Heh ... Rosie's carefully-worded statement didn't specify which 3 women she loves and I really doubt that Elisabeth is one of those women. On Rosie's uncensored blog she writes:
split screen
below my standards
Referring to ABC's decision to turn her on camera argument with Elisabeth into something one might see on a Fox News broadcast. Elsewhere on her blog, she commends her staffer's restraint for drawing a mustache on one singular picture of Elisabeth on the set of the show:
one picture
which i think showed great restraint
LOL! What a crazy circus ... ever since Rosie came on The View and made the show newsworthy again there has been nothing but ridiculous feuding all over the place (on and off the show) ... which is the only reason people even watch The View anymore. I dunno, I think it'd be a better idea if the show revolved around a group of intelligent women who don't have to scratch each others eyes out on a daily basis just for ratings. I'm interested to see what Rosie's next move will be. I'm sure the talk of her doing her own show is in high gear ... I really miss watching her fling Koosh balls into the audience. [Source]
In other feudin' news, Sharon Osbourne, never one to shy away from a fight with pretty much anyone who pisses her off, has engaged in a war of words with Gene Simmons of KISS ... and more specifically with the mother of Gene's children Shannon Tweed:
Sharon gave the long-tongued frontman a tongue lashing of her own after he criticised the Osbourne children for their widely-publicised past drug use ... the Queen of the Bitch List ranted: "He said that our kids are on drugs and that his aren't messed up like that. His wife's s**** has been rubbed on every pole in LA. I'll f**king tear his head off and stick it up her!" LOL! As funny as this shizz is, I'm just amazed at how childish Sharon has to be in situations like this. If she catches wind that anyone says anything she goes apeshizz and says ridiculous things like this ... which is why I guess so many people love her crazy ass. Maybe Barbara Walters should reach out to Sharon and have her join the cast of talking heads on The View ... I understand there is an open slot. Now that's a show I would watch religiously. [Source]
David Beckham was treated to a fond farewell dinner with his Real Madrid team mates in Spain this week where the booze and the tears flowed freely. A couple of his "close friends" have revealed that Becksie poo is starting to get cold feet about his move to LA. Say it ain't so, Becks!
There was an interesting and emotional private celebration last week at Los Molinos, a restaurant just outside Madrid. David Beckham was presented with a cake with the words "You'll Never Walk Alone" iced on it in chocolate, and an inscribed silver tray which urged him to remember the good times he has had at Real Madrid. Beckham is said to have had tears in his eyes when he stood up to receive the keepsake. He told his close friends and team-mates Roberto Carlos, Cicinho and Michel Salgado, who had arranged the party for him: "I will never forget you. You are like my family." He added: "I will return to Madrid whenever I can." He was, it seems, genuinely moved by this expression of esteem from his peers, and filled with regret at the thought of leaving them. A Spanish source suggested that Beckham actually has more friends in the Real dressing room than he ever had at Manchester United. How, then, must he feel now that his move to Los Angeles is looming? For Beckham is poised on the brink of what appears to amount to a leap into professional oblivion - and more than one ally of the midfielder claims that he is having serious second thoughts. "He's starting to get cold feet," said a friend of his sister Joanne this week. "He would much rather than anything else be with his family in Hertfordshire. He's a home-loving boy." As if missing his Real Madrid team mates wasn't enough to cause him second thoughts, the English team is about to allow his return to their team for a game next week: Steve McClaren will defy his critics on Saturday and name David Beckham in his England squad for next Friday's friendly against Brazil and the Euro 2008 qualifier against Estonia five days later. The England head coach, who jettisoned the Real Madrid midfielder when he succeeded Sven Goran Eriksson last August, has given Beckham a dramatic reprieve ahead of a match that could determine his future. McClaren faces the sack if England fail to beat Estonia in Tallinn a week on Wednesday, but he believes Beckham's experience can help him through the most turbulent period of his short reign. It's clear that he's gettin' a lot of love and support from folks on that side of the pond ... I'm sure it's only natural that he's second guessing himself. In the end, tho, he signed a contract with the LA Galaxy and has already purchased a new LA mansion to live in (a mansion, I might add, that he has never seen with his own eyes). It's clear Victoria Beckham loves it in LA so ... I'm sure he will too. [Source]
Kylie Minogue sparkled and shimmered at a Dolce & Gabbana party that took place in Cannes, France last night ... here are a few pics:

Altho I would normally advise against dressing in the same color, pattern and/or style of the wall coverings around you (think Zach Braff in Garden State), I think Kylie can pull off the look. The woman can do no wrong. [Source]
Speaking of "woman" and "wrong" here are pictures of Janice Dickenson doing what she does best:

I can really go a lifetime without out having to gander at her assflaps every again. UGH. [Source]
At long last ... here is the first footage of Lindsay Lohan as a stripper in her new thriller I Know Who Killed Me:
Personally, I don't know what all the fuss is about. We've already seen the girl wearing much less than what is shown in this movie trailer. That's not to say that the movie isn't intriguing ... I am very interested to see how Lindsay comes across in a movie like this. The movie premise looks fun ... we'll see if L. Lo can carry it. [Source]
And finally, it's time for this week's batch of pictures sent in by Pink is the new Blog readers -- Jillian, Georgianne and Meghan who are among the Valparaiso School of Law Class of '07 send in a pic from their graduation day -- Alisa sends in a pic with her fellow graduates (and friends) Karen, Jeanie, Michael, Beth, Alban, Sean and Mark who all recently graduated from Stony Brook Medical School in New York ... extra special lurve goes to Alisa (who is headed to Connecticut for a residency in radiology) Jeanie and Beth (who I'm told reads the site daily), Karen (who reads frequently) and boyfriend Sean -- Nicole and Alex who both attend Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey -- Megan, who teaches Elementary music in Putnam City Schools in good ol' Oklahoma City, sends in a cute pic with the art teacher at her school with whom she does crossing guard duty -- Kristine a UCSD student from San Diego, CA who was lucky enough to go to the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End premiere last week at Disneyland:

I think I've got a new Rent on my hands ... that is one show I can see muliple times and still love it each time ... the same, so far, with Wicked. This was my third time seeing the show and all the emotional parts still get me ... all the funny parts still make me laugh ... it's a good time. Director Kevin Smith was in the audience last night and honestly, I had forgotten that I saw him at the show the first time I saw it last month. I thought it was him the first time, I'm sure it was him last night. See, I'm not the only musical nerd in LA. David says he loved the show and I know that I did. Megan Hilty, who plays Glinda, was really on last night ... maybe she turns up the fun factor on Friday nights but she was just great. I suspect this won't be the last time I'll see the show ... after all, I still have many other friends who've yet to see it.
David has some friends coming up from San Diego to hang out with us tonight ... but not before we go out for Thai massages ... Woot! I hope y'all are having a great looong weekend. I am out.
