Jock Tease
Things seemed to be going so well for Britney Spears these past few weeks but ever since she had that very public run-in with her mother Lynne Spears (where Britney presented her with a letter insisting that she stay away from her children) things seem to have taken a downswing. It was around that time that Cousin Allie fell off the face of the planet and was no longer seen in the presence of Britters ... and then this new bodyguard (who turned out to be an old bodyguard) came into the picture. Now, Britney seems to have holed herself up at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills and there are reports that she has been seen crying most of the time that she's there ... but here is a pic of Britney at the Four Seasons smiling and lookin' happy as can be:

It's unclear what is really going on but I do hope that nothing serious is going down. It's odd that she would stay away from her home for so long. X17 is reporting that K-Fed has sicked Child Protective Services on her and that is why she's staying away from her home ... but it's hard to sort thru all the rumor in order to know what's really going on. On the plus side, I understand that they have very nice restrooms at the Four Seasons Hotel so at least our dear Britney is able to do her biz in peace ... [Source]

Yeah, I don't know that it is really necessary to post pictures from every single angle of Brit coming out of the Taco Bell restroom but I did want to throw in the pic of the new bodyguard doing his job. It's hard to make bodyguarding at a Taco Bell/gas station look sexy but he manages to pull it off. Okay, not really but he is the new man in Britney's life so he's entitled to his 15 mins. of fame. Truth be told, everyone looked pretty good. Nikki Blonsky sparkled in her dress and Brittany Snow and Amanda Bynes both looked great in their hot little numbers -- Zac Effron even toned down the bronzer for the event. James Marsden brought his killer smile and Michelle Pfeiffer looked really hot. John Travolta, bless his heart, was wearing his wig a bit too far up on his head ... I dunno if foreheads are really supposed to go up that far. I think he should move that hairline down a smidge. [Source]
By far, tho, I think Queen Latifah was the real show stopper at last night's premiere. Here are pics of her majesty in a nice yellow dress and a not so nice platinum wig thing:

At last ... someone bought up a bunch of those Paris Hilton Clip and Go Hair Extensions things and made a whole head of hair out of them. Yeah, I don't really think this is a good look for Queen Latifah. Perhaps she should try her luck with the Jessica Simpson brand of Hair Extensions. [Source]
The big news from late yesterday afternoon was the early release of the new issue of W magazine which features David and Victoria Beckham on the cover and in the magazine's pages in a steamy Steven Klein photospread. Here are a few of my faves:
Yeah, there are more pics of Posh in the mag but isn't it really just all about the Becks? It goes without saying that the underwear pics are SOOOO hot. Those teeny tighty whities are so tight one has to wonder why he is even wearing them at all ... not that I'm complaining but it seems so cruel to tease us so. [Source]
Things are working their way to a fever pitch here in LA as the Beckham's move-in date nears. The family is scheduled to arrive in LA tomorrow and the first full day of promo will take place on Friday the 13th. Sports Illustrated magazine has already rolled out the red carpet for Becks' arrival on the US Soccer scene:
I believe this is our first look at David Beckham wearing the new LA Galaxy soccer uniform. I know I couldn't be more excited for Becks's LA arrival ... I'm just glad that I will be here in LA to experience it like everyone else. [Source]

This first shot of the pop princess on-set shows Kylie, 39, crouched in fear next to the Timelord, played by David Tennant. The singer has been cast as Astrid, a waitress on the Titanic, in the show's Titantic-themed Christmas special, 'Voyage of the Damned'. The dramatic episode follows on from the cliffhanger ending of series three where viewers witnessed The Titanic crash through the Tardis walls. "Kylie is said to be "thrilled" at being asked to join the cast for a special appearance and Doctor Who executive producer and head writer Russell T Davies confirmed: "We are delighted that Kylie Minogue will be joining the Doctor. "Doctor Who Christmas specials are always a joy and we feel very confident that this will be the most ambitious and best Christmas episode yet." I love it! It would be amazing if Kylie had a new album out by the time this episode airs so that she'd be able to cross promote. It really does look as if Kylie is back to her good ol, normal and healthy self. On the surface, the news that Tori Spelling has become an ordained minister in order to perform same-sex marriages sounds really spectacular but when you take into account that she is performing these marriages at her Bed & Breakfast for her reality TV show the whole thing takes a smarmy turn. Here is a promo picture from the Oxygen Network of Tori marrying a same-sex couple:

I did it last week online and my official certificate is in the mail." The occasion? The first wedding at Chateau La Rue, the bed and breakfast Spelling runs with husband Dean McDermott on their Oxygen reality show Tori & Dean Inn Love. "I was so honored when the couple asked me to officiate," Spelling writes. "We did it on the front steps of the Chateau as 40 of their friends looked on seated in a lounge-like atmosphere. It was so beautiful as I united Tony and Dex as life partners in love." Spelling, who welcomed son Liam in March, says she was "beyond nervous" while performing the ceremony. "I've done live theater and presented at the Emmys and this by far was my scariest moment simply because they had bestowed such an honor upon me and I didn't want to let them down." After the nuptials, the happy couple and their guests dined on steak, sea bass and veggie lasagna and enjoyed a performance of "Cabaret" by one of the grooms. I dunno, I guess it's great that Tori so openly embraces the notion of same-sex marriage, so much so that she decided to be a part of it ... but for the whole thing to be a ratings gimmick for her reality TV show seems wrong. I suppose I can appreciate the fabulosity of being married by Donna Martin but the whole thing would have a ring of validity if it weren't being pimped so hard for her show. [Source]

Smashing Pumpkins released their first album in 7 years yesterday and threw a little album release party/concert for the occasion. Here are pictures of Billy Corgan on stage at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC for the Zeitgeist album release party last night:

I must admit, I've not really sat down and listened to the album yet (I've been occupying my time with Ryan Adams albums, for obvs reasons) but I am excited that SP are back on the scene. With new music on the way from Courtney Love, it's a veritable 90's resurgence these days. [Source]
