Lucky Man

Happy Friday the 13th, y'all! OK ... sooo ... today prolly isn't gonna be my most productive day ever since I'm still reeling a bit from the effects of last night's party but getting to spend time with my friends and loved ones was absolutely worth it. I had the best time last night -- as my poor head can attest to this morning. OY! Let's get to it ...

David and Victoria Beckham have finally arrived here in LA and already made a huge splash upon their arrival. With the kiddies safely tucked away somewhere, Posh and Becks made their way thru LAX airport and then to their new Beverly Hills home to start their new American life:

The arrival was like royalty - except that no king or queen ever had such a welcome, at least not in Los Angeles. Posh and Becks are of course much, much bigger than royalty. In an atmosphere of fevered anticipation that went to hysteria and beyond, David and Victoria Beckham set foot on US soil together for the first time early today as they began their new life as America's Mr and Mrs Soccer ... Media types pushed and shoved behind the barriers, stony-faced security men did their best to keep them at bay, and teenage girls sighed and said it was "awesome" ... Oh yes, and did we mention Austin Baker? "Who's David Beckham?" said Austin, an 11-year-old Californian boy who was waiting for his connection. There's always one. On the plane over from Heathrow, normal celebrity rules applied: just as with some deities, ordinary mortals are not allowed to look at them directly, so with the Beckhams no member of the public was allowed to take pictures or approach them ... On the ground it was a different story. The Beckhams walked on earth. People screamed. In particular, Dionne Barnes screamed: loudly, and happily. "He's beautiful and he's a darling and he's the best soccer player in the world," said Dionne, a Jamaican living in LA who had waited for two and a-half hours to see Beckham. "I like his personality and I like the way he's respectful towards humanity. I just love him." And so it begins ... Les Beckhams have finally made their way to the U S of A to start their new life. I'm fairly certain that they will do very well here in LA and I very much look forward to hopefully running into them around town :) Welcome to your new home, Beckhams! [Source, Source]

Earlier in the day yesterday, before the Beckhams actually touched down here in LA, things started going down at their new Beverly Hills home. The street was put on lockdown by the Beverly Hills police to make way for the big arrival and some big ticket items started showing up on the big move-in day:

This is the car that VB will undoubtedly be seen driving around town as she makes her way to and from Barney's, The Grove, Kitson and her various trips to drop off and pick up the kiddies from school. Let's just hope she remembers to drive on the right side of the road. [Source]

Here are a couple more pictures from the amazing Spanish magazine Cuore of David Beckham wearing his little white speedo:

Now, does it look to anyone else like Becks is keepin' a lot more than his usual haul inside that speedo? I've seen pictures of Becks in his little swimsuit before and don't recall him looking this ... ample. It's not that I'm complaining, mind you, I'm just trying to figure out what's what. I may need to see more speedo pics in order to make a careful determination. Yeah, it's tough work but someone's got to do it. [Source]

Jessica Biel, Adam Sandler, Kevin James and others were all on hand for the Hollywood premiere of the new movie I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry last night ... here are a few pics from the red carpet:

I must admit, when I first saw the trailer for this movie a few months ago I really took offense to the premise. The whole thing just rubbed me the wrong way because I felt it was just another movie making fun of gays by mocking the notion of same-sex marriage. But, I've been reading reviews and opinions by others who have seen the film and I think I've changed my perspective. Honestly, I don't really know that I'll get out and see this movie to make the determination for myself but I am glad to hear that others view this movie in a positive light and that it's not solely an opportunity for gays to be made fun of. If any of y'all see the film and have strong feelings about it one way or the other, shoot me an email and lemme know what you think. [Source]

Last night the 2007 Outfest Film Festival had its official kick-off here in LA and managed to bring out such luminaries like ... er ... well ... Reichen Lehmkuhl and his boyfriend Ryan Barry among others. Here is a pic of Ry-Chen with some other folks at the Outfest opening night party:

I gotta say, I love that Reichen and Ryan seem to be still going strong. It just makes me happy to see that gay couples can actually make a relationship last longer than 2 weeks. Granted, these two have really only been together for a little longer than 2 weeks but I'm pullin' for them to make it to the long haul. Yay for the man love! [Source]

Hilary Duff was the special guest performer on the Fox show So You Think You Can Dance? last night and here are a few pics from her performance of Stranger:

In case you missed her performance last night you can watch a vid clip of it here:

She put on a pretty hot little performance. I guess Hilary Duff can dance!

Courtney Love put on a performance of her own last night at the Hiro Ballroom in NYC, here are a few pics from her show:

C. Love played a short set of songs here in LA last month and then played an entire birthday concert in the UK last week and now this show in NYC ... something tells me that Courtney is ready to get back on the music scene. Hopefully there'll be a new album and a full US tour sometime very soon :) [Source]

Here are a couple of really cute pictures of Katie Holmes playing with Suri Holmes Cruise at Tiergarten park in Berlin, Germany earlier this week ... the whole fam is in Berlin where daddy Tom Cruise is currently working on his new movie:

While I think the matching haircuts are a bit much, I have to admit (again) that little Suri is just the cutest thing ever. Wherever that baby came from, she's a cutie. [Source]

Okay ... so first we find out that Paris Hilton is peddling a new line of boxed hair extensions called Clip And Go and now she's the spokesmodel for a whole hair extensions process called Dream Catchers ... what next, her own wig shop?

Touted as "The World's Best Hair Extensions" this ad clearly urges hairless people to Say goodbye to damaging, glues, weaves and clips ... um, like Paris's other hair extensions product called Clip And Go? Yeah, I don't get it. Thankfully I grow my own hair so I don't really have to worry about it. [Source]

Gavin Rossdale's first born child, Daisy Lowe, is on the cover and in the pages of new issue of I-D magazine. In the photospread, Daisy poses with her real life boyfriend in such a manner as to make any father proud:

Click HERE to see the other NSFW images from the mag. C'mon Daisy, there must be other ways to get your father's attention than resorting to tactics like this. [Source via ONTD!]

And finally, just a quick announcement that Hilary Duff will be performing at Pop Starz tonight in much the same manner that Jessica Simpson did last winter -- but better:

Cover has been raised to $15 and I'd suggest that if you want to get in you get there early and wait in line. I dunno if David and I are gonna make it out but I'm sure she's gonna put on a fun little show.

Les News:
UGH ... yeah, I realize that I'm not in top form today but last night was a doozie and I'm just trying to not die right now ;) David had the foresight to hire a driver for us so that we both could enjoy ourselves last night and boy did we. So many of my amazing LA friends came out to The Abbey for my little get-together last night and I had a great time. Here are a few pics:

I was so happy to have all my friends in one place so that they could all meet and hang out with one another. Much love goes out to all of them for giving me such a great birthday. I am such a lucky guy to have so many amazing friends and loved ones in my life.

Remember, if you are in the LA area and you'd like to win a ticket to David Beckham's first game with the LA Galaxy on July 21 then send in your entry. I am so excited ... I can't even tell you.

And I guess that is about it ... I kinda need to go pass out now. I'm out.
