Scout's Honor

Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin was officially sworn in as the newest member of the Girl Scouts of America yesterday at the Zanuck Theater on the 20th Century Fox lot with a few of her closest friends. Here are a couple pics of Abigail getting sworn in as an official Girl Scout:

This swearing in ceremony corresponds perfectly with the on-going Girl Scout cookie sales drive (which happens annually around this time of the year) and with the release of Abigail's new movie Nim's Island -- both of which I am very excited about. I am a HUGE fan of the Caramel deLites cookies (also known as Samoa cookies) that the Girl Scouts sell (I've already purchased 12 boxes this year already) AND I love the story of Nim's Island. I've been impressed with the way other children's stories have translated to the big screen so I'm hoping this movie adaptation will be just as entertaining. I guess I should also confess that I was once a Boy Scout so I can appreciate what this induction means for Abigail. Of course, I don't suppose that she will have to endure countless camping trips in the bitter Michigan Winter where snow and rain (not to mention older boys with something to prove) conspire to wreck havoc on her person (and scar her for life, I might add) ... she at least gets to wear that smashing sash and will, most likely, be kept from harm's way. Congrats, Abigail!! [Source]
