Brangelina Married?
Star can exclusively reveal that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who are expecting twins this summer, tied the knot during an intimate wedding ceremony in the couple's adopted city of New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday afternoon. As Star has reported, Brad had long wanted the ceremony to take place in the city devastated by Hurricane Katrina, while Angelina preferred a small, intimate ceremony in France. Clearly Brad won out as the planned ceremony took place in the French Quarter Wedding Chapel. The now husband and wife, along with their four children, are expected to return to Texas, where Brad is currently filming Tree of Life.
... but the report is light on specifics. I guess we'll know very soon if this huge story is true or not. More deets to follow ... thus far, no other media outlet is confirming this news. [Source]

Even More Than Meets The Eye?

Could Transformers 2 be in some sort of pre-production? Could these cars be the first sign that the sequel will soon be upon us? It looks that way ... tho there is no word on who might star in the sequel. My guess is that Shia LaBeouf will be back for more but we still don't know anything about the movie at this point. The TV Guide: Takin' It Easy
Happily we ran into my friends Michael and Ben who were also hanging out at Fiesta. Mike, Amy, David and I talked about going out afterwards to Akbar for dancing but we ended up drinking ourselves into submission. Needless to say it was an early night for David and me.
Tonight I'm trying to get as much of Le GangTM together as I can for a fun dinner together. Steph and Alek will be leaving for France for about a month tomorrow and we want to send them off in style. I hope the night won't end after dinner ... I'd like to do some bit of dancing this weekend but we'll have to see how the day plays itself out.

Say what you will about LC, she really does work hard to maintain her empire. It may sound easy to just fly around the continent, lookin' pretty and smiling for the cameras but I'm sure there is more involved than just that. If you consider that Heidi Montag has attained her level of fame predominantly by sticking to the SoCal area (only sometimes venturing out to Las Vegas or NYC) and then compare that with the fact that LC has to fly all over the place (even to Europe) to hold her own. You gotta respect such a hard working woman ... and even if not, you simply cannot deny that The Hills kinda rules. [Source]

Please Don't Stop The Music

WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE," the new album from Bad Boy recording group Danity Kane, has made an explosive arrival atop the SoundScan/Billboard 200 album chart. This marks the group's second consecutive #1 chart entry -- following their 2006 RIAA platinum-certified, self-titled debut -- and gives them the distinction of being the first female group in Billboard chart history to have both their debut and sophomore albums enter the main album chart at #1. "WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE" also debuts at #1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #1 on SoundScan's Digital Albums chart. With sales of 236,000, the superstar girl group's sophomore release surpasses the first-week sales of their debut album, a remarkable achievement in today's marketplace. It also marks the biggest first week from a female pop or R&B group since Destiny's Child in 2001, and the largest debut from any female group in any genre since the Dixie Chicks in 2006. In addition, the album is 2008's second biggest-selling debut thus far, as well as the year's top debut from a female artist, besting recent collections from such notables as Janet Jackson, Erykah Badu, and Natasha Bedingfield. "This number one is for our fans, everything we do is for them," said the members of Danity Kane. "We would like to thank God, our families, Bad Boy, and Atlantic for all their love and continued support." "Over the past few years, I have not only been on a mission to make the bands, I have been on a mission to build careers," said Bad Boy CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs. "The triumphant #1 return of Danity Kane is dramatic proof that we are achieving our goal. With 'WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE,' these gifted, beautiful, platinum-selling women have confirmed their enormous talent and undeniable star power. They've come into their own with a record displaying the depth, range, quality, and energy that creates devotion and longevity. Congratulations to Danity Kane for delivering the goods and to the staff of Bad Boy for putting them back on top in such grand style."
Holla! I must reiterate that I am living for their song Damaged right about now ... the song is so infectious, a bit mindless and very, very catchy. I couldn't be more happy for the girls on this latest accomplishment. Yes, much of their success comes from excellent marketing but you cannot deny the power of a catchy song. Diddy and MTV have come up with a winning formula for success ... it's too bad that O-Town wasn't able to capitalize in the same way on their first outing on Making The Band. Waitaminute, on second thought ... I don't know that the world really needed another song like Liquid Dreams ;) Do your thing, DK ... I'm really likin' what I hear thus far. [Source]

There is no doubt, Helen Mirren is a remarkable actress who has lived a long life in the biz. Her new book, subtitled My Life in Words and Pictures, seeks to tell her story in her own words. To be honest, I'm not sure I'm all that interested in reading an autobiography of the woman but I am a huge fan of her work. I had been impressed with her work for years now (do y'all remember her performances in Teaching Mrs. Tingle and Calendar Girls?) but it was her performance in The Queen that really sets the standard. And let's not forget that she is one sexy dame as well. Yes, I'm more interested in seeing Helen in action than reading about it but I can deffo appreciate how anyone could be interested in reading about her life. [Source]

Jared Leto Is Talkin' Crazy
Here are a couple questions and answers from Jared's movie discussion:
Q: You obviously put on a lot of weight for your role as Mark David Chapman. Was that a difficult decision to make? Why did you choose not to just wear a "fatsuit"?
A: It wasn't a difficult decision at all. I would say the difficulty came after the decision was made. It was important to take on the physical challenges of this transformational experience as well as the psychological/emotional. The weight helped indicate many things about the character for me. Although it was a very important and obvious part of the process it was still just one part of the overall journey. And one that I am definitely very happy to be finished with.
Q: Why do you think CHAPTER 27 documented only the weekend before John Lennon’s murder as opposed to delving further into MDC's life or psyche?
A: Probably best to ask director Jarrett Schaefer about this but he had a very specific vision for the film which I thought was incredibly interesting and non-traditional.
Click HERE to read the rest of the questions that were posted on the Angelika Theater blog. From what I've seen of this film (and Jared's performance) thus far, I really like what I see. While Jared Leto's musical talents are ... questionable (tho, personally, I think they're adequate) ... I have always been impressed with Jared's acting abilities. His performance in Requiem for a Dream is stunning. He even did a great job with his small role in Fight Club. Hell, he even rocked balls as Jordan Catalano in My So-Called Life. I'm convinced that Jared Leto will win critical acclaim for this role ... despite the fact that he stars opposite Lindsay Lohan. I can't wait to see it for myself. [Source]

What A Way To Make A Livin'
OMG ... this is so exciting! As you may recall, I was recently able to interview Megan Hilty about her upcoming role as Doralee Rhodes in the 9 to 5: The Musical and now the first official promo events are taking place. The show will open here at the Ahmanson Theater in September before it makes its Broadway debut next year. Broadway World posted video HERE of Dolly from yesterday's HoB preview event. I simply cannot wait to see this musical. I'm all about amazing pop culture stories making the transition to Broadway (ie. Xanadu, Legally Blonde) so clearly I'm very much looking forward to seeing this show. Dolly is a genius, I know she has put together a soundtrack that will set the musical on fire. Woot! This is great news ... it won't be long before we're able to see 9 to 5 live on stage. [Source]
