Okay, let me get the bad news out of the way first. We ended up losing both games tonight. But let me tell you, we played great regardless. I didn't feel so bad losing to the #1 team in the league. In the first game, we were down by 4 points and we ended up rallying in the bottom of the last inning to tie up the score. Instead of deeming the game a tie (a win for both teams) he decided to make us play one more inning. They scored, we didn't -- they won by one point. In the second game we were more sloppy and just let the game get away from us. We did play great though, lots of teamwork, lots of great plays. I am not a great loser by any means, but I was proud of our performance tonight. Mark got to sub in for Mike after he hurt his groin region in the 4th inning of the first game. Mike was able to score a point and then had to sit out for the rest of the evening. Mark was very happy to play. He is now an honorary Quopper!
We have 2 games tomorrow night and I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that we are going to win them both.
After the game, Kirsten, Erik, Mike and I were supposed to go to The
Detroit Art Space to see
Xiu Xiu perform. Kirsten and Erik ended up opting out and Mike and I went instead. I don't even know how to adequately describe the show. They were very art rock.
Their music was reminiscent of 80's bands with very interesting vocals by the lead singer. It was a cool show though. All of Detroit's coolest hipsters were in attendance. It was totally fun. I took a few more pictures, you can see them all
HERE.
And that's it. I'm real tired from all the interrupted sleep I got today so I'm not going to stay up much longer. But I'll dig up more goss tomorrow, that's for sure.
