Settlin' Down
Gawd bless this girl, I can't help but heart her. She may be a bit of a mess most of the time but I really believe that she is doing the best she can with her situation. I've always contended that she still has the ability to make a bit of a comeback but it really depends on how bad she wants it. I don't know that I believe she wants it bad enough ... but I guess we have nothing better to do than wait and see. I would not be surprised if she did end up releasing some great new music, shocking everyone else in the process -- but then again, I've always had a soft spot for our dear Britney. [Source]
The Beckhams have been in LA for only a few days now and they are already making themselves quite at home. After Friday's big media lovefest, David and Victoria packed up the kiddies and took them to their friendly neighborhood Toys 'R Us store to pick up some new goodies for the kids:

I fully expect the Beckhams to be seen all over town doing their best to embrace American and Los Angeles culture. They should be hitting up The Grove, Santa Monica Pier, Chuck E. Cheese's, Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm very soon. I love that little Cruz is carrying around a little American Flag ... they really are taking this coming to America thing very seriously. But, as much as there is a lot of fun things to do around town, the primary reason that David Beckham moved his family to Los Angeles is because he has some work to do for the LA Galaxy. Becks had a practice with his new soccer team this morning but not before he made a quick stop at the Coffee Bean to pick up a cup of Joe beforehand:

After all, he better be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed before he starts workin' to make that $250 million bucks that the LA Galaxy is paying him. Becks already looks like the perfect California boy. Love it! [Source]
In happy marriage news, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell surprised everyone when then went and got married this weekend! Here are a few pictures from the surprise nuptials:

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell were married on Saturday in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles, Romijn's rep Lewis Kay tells PEOPLE. Romijn, 34, wore a Ralph Lauren gown and jewelry by Neil Lane as she and O'Connell, 33, exchanged vows in front of 100 family and friends. The couple's two dogs Taco and Better – dressed in black bow ties – also joined in on the festivities, running around the grounds. "It was a perfect celebration and Jerry and I couldn't be happier," Romijn tells PEOPLE. The couple met in the fall of 2004 when Romijn was scouting for her documentary Wet Dreams, about choreographing the fountains at Las Vegas' Bellagio Hotel and Casino ... O'Connell proposed to Romijn in September 2005, during a trip to New York. This is the first marriage for O'Connell and the second for Romijn. It's unclear whether or not Rebecca is going to change her last name to Romijn-O'Connell or not but either way I couldn't be more happy for the both of them. They seem like such a great couple that I'm sure they will have a long and happy life together. [Source]
Lindsay Lohan has successfully completed her 45-day stint at the Promises Rehab Facility in Malibu, CA and to celebrate she took her booty straight to Las Vegas to party at Pure nightclub. Now, I'm not sure this is really the best way for her celebrate the completion of a stint in rehab but ... there you have it. Here are a few pics from Lindsay's night at Pure:

After more than six weeks in rehab, Lindsay Lohan has completed her stint at Promises, PEOPLE has learned exclusively. Lohan's rep, Leslie Sloane, gave PEOPLE this exclusive statement: "On Friday, July 13, 2007, Lindsay Lohan successfully completed her 45 days of residential and extended care treatment at Promises. She has transitioned to an intensive outpatient program, which includes attendance at daily AA meetings, outpatient therapy and daily testing. On her own, she has also made the decision in support of her sobriety to wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet. In part she is wearing the bracelet so there are no questions about her sobriety if she chooses to go dancing or dining in a place where alcohol is served." Says Sloane of her client, "She's doing great. Lindsay is working hard on her sobriety and we are all supporting her." I'm pretty sure that Lindsay decided to party at Pure mainly because of her deal to celebrate her 21st birthday there fell thru because of her rehab treatment. I'm actually very surprised that she has voluntarily decided to wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet ... tho, there is no mention of how long she plans to wear it. Lindsay has been faithfully attending AA meetings and really seems to be taking her sobriety seriously. I wish her only the best of luck and I really hope that she can keep her nose clean and out of trubs. [Source]
Jessica Simpson spent her weekend down in Miami, FL playing fashion designer at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week where she showed her line of bathing suits on the runway. Here are a couple pictures from her show:

Yeah, since Paris Hilton stole her hair extensions business scheme it was very smart of Jessica to move on to other business ventures. Jess could have a long career of attaching her name to products and services without having to torture us any further with her attempts at acting. This business model worked for Suzanne Somers (who became, like, a bazillionarie by selling products like the Thigh Master) and I'm sure it can work for Jessica Simpson as well. [Source]
Morrissey also spent his weekend in Florida but instead of playing fashion designer, he played to a sold out crowd at the Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton, FL ... here are a few pics:

Despite the incredible humidity, Moz looked very dashing in his grey suit. The man shows no signs of slowing down ... he just keeps chugging along. I really hope he has a few more albums in him ... I'm not quite done enjoying new Morrissey music. [Source]
Speaking of new music, Madonna teamed up with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland in a London recording studio to do some work on tracks for her upcoming album (due out later on this year). Here are a few pics of Madge and the hitmakers coming out of the studio and hamming it up for the cameras:

I am hearing so many great things about this new Madonna album ... I am SO anxious to hear what it sounds like. I'll be very disappointed if these new JT/Timbaland tracks sound like Nelly Furtado outtakes. As much as I love Timbaland's production, you gotta admit that many of his songs lately all tend to sound very much the same (this is very apparent when Justin, Nelly and Tim all have songs out on the radio right now and it's hard to differentiate one from the other). I'm really hoping for something fresh sounding for Madonna's new album. [Source]
Hilary Duff is featured in the new issue of Cosmo Girl magazine, here are a few pictures from her amazing photospread:
Wowie! She looks really hot in these pics. I love how Hilary can do sexy without having to resort to looking slutty. She really has a great head on her shoulders, she has really figured out how to stay relevant and hot without having to sacrifice her dignity. [Source]
Today is the day that Prince is giving away copies of his new album Planet Earth to everyone who picked up a copy of the Mail on Sunday newspaper today in the UK. In a statement to the newspaper, Prince's spokesperson explains why Prince decided to give away his album to the fine folks of Great Britain:
"Prince feels that charts are just music industry constructions and have little or no relevance to fans or even artists today. Prince's only aim is to get music direct to those what want to hear it. Prince famously took a stand against Warner Records in the Nineties when he went on strike and appeared with the world "slave" drawn on his cheek. Subsequently, he regained control of the publishing right to his work and broke down the existing system through his innovation." I don't understand how people can be surprised at Prince's unconventional attitudes towards the music industry. He has managed to build enough clout thru his amazing artistry that he can take strong positions like this for the many new artists who could never get away with such feats. It's amazing how revolutionary it sounds to give something away rather than forcing people to pay for it. Shouldn't this be something that we encourage hugely successful artists to do? [Source]
And finally, it's time for the Hot Dude of the Week. This week we get to take a gander at a pretty unshy guy named Dave:

Yeah, I'm glad someone failed to tell Dave that he is not wearing those boxer shorts properly. I'm not usually a fan of the overuse of bronzer but in this case, I don't know that I really mind all that much. Enjoy :) [Source]

I'd be surprised if many of you even heard of this movie. There hasn't been much promo that I've seen. When I saw the early screening of Day Watch a couple of months ago, I managed to catch a preview of Joshua but haven’t heard a thing about it since. David read about it in Entertainment Weekly and away we went. Most of the press likens Joshua to The Omen (in that an evil kid terrorizes his family) but I believe it is more like The Good Son which starred Macaulay Calkin (the kid is also evil but not demon possessed). This movie takes that premise and sets it in the Upper East side of NYC. Joshua is a brilliant child who decides that he wants to drive his mother crazy and send his father to jail ... most likely because his newborn little sister is getting all of their attention. Yeah, what kid doesn't. But this movie really shows how a geniusly-disturbed child could feasibly get away with his evil plans. Honestly, I'm surprised that more rich and smart kids in NYC don't get away with stuff like this on a daily basis (who knows, maybe they do!). Ugh, you don't even want to know what this sick little devilchild did to his poor guinea pig. Honestly, I was pretty disturbed by the movie for some time after ... creepy kids are very unsettling to watch on the big screen. I wouldn't say it's a horror film, per se, but it is pretty disturbing to watch. I liked the movie ... I don't know that I'd ever need to watch it again tho.
So yeah ... after the movie, we went out for a few drinks in West Hollywood popping in a few places before we decided to call it a night and come back home. We had a great brunch this morning/afternoon and David is now winging his way back to NYC. I cannot tell you how happy I was that he came out for my birthday. I had an amazing weekend with him here and I can't wait to see him again. Life can be so complicated sometimes ... but things happen for a reason. I guess we'll see what's in store in the days and weeks to come.
I hope y'all had a great weekend ... there is still some Sunday left to enjoy, I hope it's a good one. I'm out.
