We also got to chat for a little bit with the amazing actresses Mary Testa and Jackie Hoffman who play Muses Melpomene and Calliope respectively. They are really both insanely funny in the show, it was a thrill to meet them both. Additionally, while backstage we kinda ran into the very shirtless Kyle Dean Massy (who plays the Muse Thalia as well as a Siren, Young Danny, an '80s singer and Cyclops) which was a nice treat as well :) All the players were so kind and complimentary about the blog so it was just a really nice experience. I MUST see the show again, natch, but next time I plan to be on stage! I can't wait.
Much, much love goes out to Jim for orchestrating the VIP treatment for Darion and me, we had an absolute blast and we owe it all to him. xoxo
After our afternoon of theater, we met up with David and his sister Eden and her new male friend for dinner at Frederick's in the West Village. Despite a couple of unpleasant run-ins with the other patrons and dealing with understaffing at the restaurant, we had a nice time together -- the food was really delish:
So yeah ... our weekend was over as quickly as it began. Darion and I have a couple more days left in the city before we fly back to LA tomorrow evening.
Happy Cinco De Mayo, ya'll!! Drink a margarita for me!!
