The Shining

Not to be outdone by Chace Crawford's embarrassing high school pics, Pink reader Mel sends in a couple of high school era photos of Audrina Patridge from The Hills:

Yikes! Couldn't anyone inform the poor girl that her forehead was so reflective in the first pic? Mean! I really don't fancy Audrina as a blonde ... she looks much better with dark hair ... I hope she keeps it that way ;) [thanks Mel]

They Just Keep On Comin'

Pink reader Kristen gave me the head's up on a site that was full of a bunch of Chace Crawford candid and old skool pics so I feel it's my duty to share some of the wealth with all y'all. Here are a couple pics of Chace from his high school days:

Hi, eyebrows. While these pics are cute and a bit embarrassing, I think I still prefer seeing the pics of Chace lookin' all trashed and stuff:

You just *know* that he's a fun guy to party with. I can't wait for the candid pics of his partying with JC Chasez to leak to the InterWeb :) [thanks Kristen]

The Dark Knight Does Empire Magazine

Empire magazine is featuring both Batman and The Joker on 2-dfferent collector's covers of their newest issue which just hit newsstands. Actually, there is a third limited edition cover which features a Jokerified Batman cover. Here are a few scans from the mag:

The accompanying photos are all pics that we've seen before but they're worth checking out again. We are just a little over a month and a half away from the release of The Dark Knight (due for release on July 18) and I'm really, really very excited. I was amped for Sex and the City but I was a bit worried it wouldn't be as good as I hoped (thankfully, I was wrong ... it turned out even better) but I *know* that The Dark Knight is gonna be awesome. Wee!!! [Source via Source]

Old Becks Teaches New Tricks

David Beckham has made his way to the tropics this weekend, spending some time in Port-Of-Spain, Trinidad where he has been training young local soccer players at the Centre of Excellence at Marvin Lee Stadium. Here are a few pics of Becks showin' the kids how it's done:

You know what would make photos like these a lot more interesting? A lot less clothing. But hey, at least Becks is taking the time to work out with some very lucky kids ... I guess that's sexy enough. [Source]

The TV Guide: Strangers, Interrupted

Yesterday was kinda chill ... I had made plans to hang out with Jim since we haven't been able to do so in a while with all of his "working" and luckily his hubby Derek was able to hang out as well. We had grand plans for dinner and a movie so we met up at Pink Taco to get our margarita on and stuff our faces. We planned on seeing the 10pm showing of The Strangers at Century City but the damn thing sold out on us. So, we hauled ass to the Arc Light in Sherman Oaks only to discover it was sold out there as well. By that time, we were pretty much over it ...

... but, Jim and I are going to see the damn movie this afternoon in Burbank so all's not lost.

Tonight, Darion's Birthday celebration, part deux, takes place in WeHo. There will be more dranking and lots of dancing at Cherry Pop so it shall be fun ... expect fun pics. I hope all y'all's weekends are coming along nicely ... it's warm and sunny here in SoCal -- Woot!!

Siouxsie Sioux Does Vice Magazine

The utterly fabulous Siouxsie Sioux was interviewed by Vice magazine sometime after she completed her US tour earlier this year. Here are a couple pictures from her spread and excerpts from her interview:

When Siouxsie Sioux climbed onstage at the 100 Club in September 1976 with a band made up of nonmusician buddies—Marco Pirroni, Steven Severin, and Sid Vicious—she probably wasn't thinking about world tours with roadies, lighting rigs, and costume changes 30 years down the line. From all accounts she mostly shrieked the Lord's Prayer over a walloping din created by the guys while dodging loogies. Ah, but fate has its own plans. Sixteen Siouxsie and the Banshees albums, ten Creatures albums, and an insane number of singles (big hits! "Hong Kong Garden," "Dear Prudence," "Cities and Dust," "Peek-a-Boo," "Israel," etc.) later, she's on the road to everywhere with a solo album, Mantaray, and still making 'em hurt with her glittery dark-glam voodoo thing. After a recent US tour, Vice gave her a call in France.

How do you like the US these days?

I really enjoyed America this time. We did pretty much all-new material and some choice oldies, and the response was great. A lot of old regulars, but definitely younger fans coming. The last show we played was Orange County, California, and there were all these really young kids, their mums with them, obviously. There was one girl of nine or ten, she knew all the words.

I could see children loving a Siouxsie Sioux concert, sure.

My catsuits were going down a storm, I think. I really landed them with my Emma Peel look.

Do you think of the new solo album as a continuation of your work with the Banshees and the Creatures?

Lyrically this album is more direct than the others. I've been going through a lot of changes personally. Also, over the years I've seen many aspects of the pop world, the music industry, and life as well.

You're so full-on live. Do you do all those singerly things to protect your voice?

When you've done a lot of touring, it's tough on the vocal cords. The one thing I have learned more recently is doing exercises before I go on stage.

Have you ever gotten up there and nothing came out?

In the past, sure. I've gone onstage knowing I had laryngitis, the worst feeling in the world. In the early days we'd play five or six nights in a row, traveling as well. The voice can't take that kind of punishment. I would always dream of being a backing musician and not having to take the spotlight. There are also singers out there where it's pretty much on one level. They don’t really push up or down or around. It's all midrange.

I have to say, your live performance is a revelation. You look like you’re going through some kind of transformation.

I love touring and playing live. To be able to really go for it and not have any restraints, physical or otherwise. And the subtleties as well, all the control of it. It's so liberating.

Technology worries you?

Well, we're talking about a generation that has grown up with computers. My big worry is that the need to connect with the actual is slowly getting eroded.

How is it being 50?

I'm enjoying it. There are a lot of things where I say, "Oh, that makes sense now." And then I can finally forget about them.

Siouxsie is one of the coolest women on Earth. A lot is made of Madonna's fabulosity but Siouxsie Sioux manages to stay under the radar with her fierceness. She is so talented, I just love absolutely everything she puts out. I'm so glad that she continues to make music because her brand of artistry feels like a dying art form. I treasure my catalog of Siouxsie and the Banshees and Creatures music ... it's the kind of library of song that will last forever -- at least for me. I hope her latest solo album isn't the last ... I'd love to be able to enjoy another 50 years of music from Siouxsie Sioux. Click HERE to read the full Vice magazine interview. [Source]

LaToya Jackson's First Birthday Party ... Ever

LaToya Jackson, who was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, grew up never allowed to celebrate holidays (like Xmas) and milestone events (like birthdays), made her way to Las Vegas, NV this week to enjoy her very first birthday party ever at Privé nightclub with her brother Jackie and friend RuPaul. Here are pics of an ecstatic (and perhaps tipsy) LaToya on the Privé red carpet last night as she made her way into her birthday party:

And here are a couple photos of LaToya with her brother, Ru and the first birthday cake she's ever had ... like, ever:

The way I understand it, Toy arrived just before midnight, posing for pictures with fans as she made her way inside. At just about 1:30 AM Privé presented her with her first birthday cake ever, a lemon and cream creation topped with sparklers. It was at that point that Latoya jumped up on the couch with her glass of Yellow Label Veuve Clicquot and got her groove on in celebration ... and then the party wrapped after 2 AM -- short and sweet. You know, LaToya has to be one of my fave Jacksons -- she's right up there with Janet for me. I've always commended her for finding the strength to break away from her father's tight, controlling (and abusive) grip ... even if it made her a Jackson outcast for so many years. I really wish more people could hear her music because her stuff is really quite good. If you take some of Janet's sexiness and mix it up with a bit of Michael's craziness (and don't forget the family nose) and you've got LaToya Jackson, bitches! Happy Birthday, Toy ... I hope your first birthday party was all you dreamed it would be.

Guy Talk

Hugh Jackman stepped out for a morning swim at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia early Saturday with an unknown, yet sexy male friend ... here are a few pics:

It's not clear who this mysterious and hawt dude is but one thing's for sure, they really do make a handsome pair of manly men. [Source]
