Almost There
- I'm sure this comes as *no surprise* to anyone. Mark Hacking has reportedly admitted killing his wife (the Salt Lake case). SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (CNN) -- The husband of a missing Salt Lake City woman told a "reliable citizen witness" in a psychiatric unit that he killed his wife while she slept and tossed her body in a garbage bin, the Salt Lake County district attorney said Tuesday. Too bad the Lacy Peterson case isn't this open and shut.
- The Good News: A judge in the great state of Washington has upheld same-sex marriages ruling that the state's law against such marriages is unconstitutional. In his ruling, Judge Downing said state law was unconstitutional because "the privilege of civil marriage and the various privileges conferred by that status are not being made equally available to all citizens." But we shouldn't celebrate yet, the case is headed for the state supreme court. But it is a hopeful sign that courts all over the country are ruling in favor of same-sex marriage.
- The Bad News: The citizens of Missouri have voted to ban same-sex marriages. "We're the Show Me state and today we've shown the nation that we the people value traditional marriage," said Vicky Hartzler, a former state legislator who led the drive for the amendment. This is bad because they voted to amend their state's constitution, courts in the state cannot rule against it. In the end, this entire issue is going to be decided in the U.S. Supreme Court. It's IMPERATIVE that John Kerry win the Presidency so that fair-minded justices can be put on the Supreme Court. If GWB seats any justices then I think we're doomed.
- It looks like Ralph Fiennes is going to play You-Know-Who. Fiennes has been cast to play Lord Voldemort in the next Harry Potter movie. I guess the producers were very impressed by his performance in Maid In Manhattan ... well, he creeped me out in that movie.
- Has Pamela Anderson reunited with Kid Rock? He reportedly serenaded her with Bob Seger's song Night Moves. If that ain't true love I don't know what is.
- Matthew Lillard, the actor who plays Shaggy in the Scooby Doo movies, claims that there is "no hope" for a Scooby Doo 3. Hear that folks, NO HOPE! Let's all breathe a collective sigh of relief.
